My Amazing Boyfriend

- Episode 1 -

201, 201. A serious traffic accident has happened on the Cheng Xi Road.

Please inform the traffic investigation branch and immediately head to the accident site. Over.

My name is Xue Ling Qiao. I've already been in the human world for 400 years

without pain, injury, aging, or dying.

During these four hundred years, I have been searching for answers;

but I never expected that one day I would be lying here, waiting to die.

Draining all of my blood can kill me,

but it seems it's not that simple.

Was the situation of the accident site like this?

Yes, when we came, those two cars already crashed.

Get over here quickly!

Miss Zhi... Miss Zhi, keep persevering!

- Be careful. - We will confirm it again.

Let's go.

We're nearly at the hospital. Sorry, it's all my fault.

Hurry and block the accident site!

Miss Zhi, stay with us!

The dormant body you all see here is called the "Sleeping Beauty."

When he was discovered, he was lying in a coffin

which had sank to the bottom of a river, but luckily this coffin was sealed tightly,

so water did not leak into it.

This dormant body can now be brought to light.

An autopsy done by forensic doctors shows that the reason of his death wan a severed artery in the neck,

causing excessive bleeding. The initial judgment was revenge killing.

Miss Tian, you came here again?

You've been doing this for two hours, are you going to do it for real this time?

You're sitting here watching the show and I haven't even asked you for money! Why do you care?

No wants to care about you.

Thing is your dramas come a bit too often.

Whenever you feel wronged, you come to the roof to let off some steam.

No matter how pretty this is, you've got to consider the audience's tiring appreciation.

Alright?

Miss Tian!

What are you screaming for, do you want to scare me to death?

Sorry, it's probably because the distance just now was too far, so I got used to screaming.

Miss Tian, I want to ask if you are going to do it for real this time.

If you are going to do it for real I have to call the police.

Since I am this area's security team leader, if something were to happen to you here,

I would be fired.

I'm definitely dying. Prepare to be fired.

It's just a small matter, you're not strong at all.

One look and I can tell that you've just broken up.

If it was that simple, everything would be fine.

[ Ling Ling Circus]

Hello? Wasn't there a report about a gambling mob?

What are you doing?

Something's happening.

♫ I, I want ♫

Xiao Zhi?

♫ I want you, I want your ♫

♫ I want your love. Why aren't you coming over? ♫

♫ I, I want ♫

♫ I want you ♫

If you're not coming over then I will come to you.

Is the ground as pretty as me?

You're prettier.

Xiao Zhi—

I know that you are a slow guy.

That's why you should come over to me right now.

When I ask you if you want to marry me, nod and say "yes."

And after you put the ring on me, you can call me Mrs. Li.

The woman takes the initiative to propose and gets rejected?

- If it was really that simple then everything would be fine. -Huh?

Xiao Zhi, these days when I said I wanted to address you differently,

I didn't mean like this.

Rathe,r I thought we were more suited to having a brother and sister relationship.

Like... Like before.

What you mean is,

I've misunderstood and you actually want to break up with me?

Stop!

So even a proposal

could become a breakup.

My life is really an incredibly black, humorous joke.

- No! I need to be frank with you. - Don't say any more.

- Listen to me, this has nothing to do with you, it's because of me. - I'm begging you, please don't say any more!

Turn on the lights!

But I don't like you.

That girl who was confessed to

is a childhood friend we've grown up with. She has been living in my home since high school.

I've always treated her like a little sister and now—!

Your boyfriend two-timing with your best friend is such a contrived thing!

If it was that simple, then everything would be fine.

There's even more!?

Adding in the one from today, she has already stolen seven boyfriends from me.

And today my seventh boyfriend even got... rejected by her.

If this world had a bad luck competition, you would be number two.

No one would dare call themselves the first. In your previous life you must have been Zhu Ge Liang. (a military strategist in China, who is portrayed as a sage and genius).

So in this life you have been made to be hedgehog.

I will be kind, too. Jump! Feel free to jump off anywhere!

Could it be that you know my mother?

What kind of idiot would actually jump off the roof?

What are you doing? This Miss Tian!

You will regret it! You're really not going to jump anymore?

There is no point in living for you! You'll definitely regret it when you get home!

If I had actually jumped, I would have been the one regretting it.

There's also two wages that I haven't collected.

Furthermore, tomorrow's newspaper will definitely say:

"Single goddess, Tian Jing Zhi, has jumped off a building and died after being dumped by boyfriend."

I'll suddenly become famous after being a second female lead my whole life.

How is this funny?

A parking ticket?

Considering today's bad luck

the fact that the car is still here,

Miss Tian, you should be grinning.

Yeah, we are almost off the motorway.

We will be at the research center in around an hour.

Don't worry, we will definitely deliver it safely.

This thing is so unlucky...

Don't say that! This thing is so strange.

I really want to die!

Timing and Subtitles brought to you by The Mutant Team @ Viki

Who was it? Who was it that drained my blood out?

I must catch that murderer.

...

Yesterday at around 1 a.m,

female star Tian Jing Zhi was driving home,

and crashed with a truck. Both drivers died at the scene.

At present, Tian Jing Zhi is being resuscitated at the hospital. It is unknown whether or not she'll live.

Many male fans of Tian Jing Zhi are waiting in front of the hospital for news,

hoping to be notified that their idol is out of danger. This is the first news report for you.

Why can I feel the heartbeat of that girl?

Mom, I won't be coming home for dinner today.

Mr. Li, don't worry. Regarding this matter, once it's posted online,

you can just wait to be famous.

That man is okay, I saw his Weibo.

He's just a bit old; apparently, he's quite rich.

One hundred years. In just one hundred years,

this world has already made me a complete stranger.

[Library]

Good thing, good thing! Take a photo.

Hey, wait a moment.

Miss Tian, your powder is applied too thickly.

Also, you must manage your hospital leave papers by Wednesday, the latest.

Rest well.

It's really too fake looking.

You even wear makeup that makes you look dead when you're sleeping?

Don't pretend anymore!

I already told you

to use the foundation from Zhang Xuan Xuan.

When I use that kind of foundation

as makeup, it looks like makeup for a dead person!

The foundation that Zhang Xuan Xuan uses, I've tried it out!

Expensive ones are good! Look.

Doesn't it look beautiful?

Beautiful.

As soon as the director sees, he'll immediately kneel down crying, begging you to be the lead actress.

Of course. You... Why are you pretending to be asleep?

Just now, the nurse was trying to kick me out of the hospital.

You've been here for a month already.

Your fans have been waiting for you outside for almost one month.

You don't even have a scratch on you at all,

yet you don't want to see your family or friends.

Unless... you want to make this room your bubble

and hide in here for the rest of your life?

Don't say it that harshly.

Even though I got through this situation smoothly,

the drivers of those two trucks both died.

Looking at the pictures taken at the scene of the accident,

I should be in the hospital for at least three months,

right?

Also, everyone mistakenly believes that I am heavily injured,

so nobody has talked about my disastrous marriage rejection.

Not to mention, my popularity has been rising.

Wouldn't you say that this is when extreme sorrow turns into joy,

and I'm starting to have a change of fortune?

Are you dreaming right now?

Like those people who talk about some clouds and having the moon in their arms

and these qilins and these phoenixes? (Mythical creatures that are symbols of fortune)

As for me,

there was a big ship made of grass

with arrows all above,

that suddenly crashed into my belly!

When I gave birth to you, there was thunder and lightening.

You were born with your umbilical cord around your neck.

You weren't even breathing when you were born,

and needed resuscitation for two minutes before you even breathed.

I'm telling you, children who have been touched by death

were born with a lack of success.

No need to even hope for a change in luck.

Okay, okay, okay, okay. Enough.

Ever since I was a kid, you've already told me these exact words eight thousand times.

[Real mother is correct.][Identification is completed.]

Why do we have the same heartbeat?

Miss Tian? Miss Tian, please calm down. Did you have a nightmare?

- There's someone here! There was a man in my room! - Check the room for her.

- Miss Tian - Listen!

There's a loud heartbeat sound! Ba-dum! Ba-dum...

Do you not hear it?

Oh, yes we do hear it, Miss Tian... You're just hallucinating.

On Wednesday, please prepare to leave the hospital.

Wait, nurse, you think that because I'm unwilling to leave the hospital, I'd make up a hallucination?

In elementary school, I was third place in the entire school in our moral lessons class!

Good night.

Could it... really just be a hallucination?

Timing and Subtitles brought to you by The Mutant Team @ Viki

For now,

it is an unfortunate woman that is easy to control.

In this unfamiliar time,

perhaps she is the one who can help me.

Officer Li, if a dormant body was stolen

and someone immediately left the premise,

then tire marks and drag marks would definitely be left

at the site.

But from time the accident occurred, to when the police arrived at the scene,

only ten minutes, at most, had passed.

The perpetrator wouldn't have had enough time whatsoever to clean up the crime scene.

This doesn't make sense scientifically. Even though you've already determined

that the driver had the full responsibility by driving under fatigue,

I think that this car accident

was a deliberate theft and murder. It was not an accident.

That section of the road is new, so the cameras weren't active yet.

This makes the investigation more difficult.

We will continue to collect evidence.

Tian Jing Zhi? She hasn't left the hospital?

Miss Tian, what are you doing?

Um... Actually, it's nothing. I'm just exercising. It's really nothing.

You guys continue doing your work.

I'll continue exercising.

Separated only by a wall.

I can jump the wall.

When this lady was still in school,

I was a powder-puff bat.

Momo cake, here I come!

Who was so wicked as to open the manhole cover here?

Tian Jing Zhi! It's already too much.

You fell down a manhole just for the sake of food.

Okay, okay, okay, time to calm down. Besides, it's not even the first time this has happened.

Let me think. How did I get out the last time?

Again? This hallucination is really getting worse.

Is anyone there? Can someone come help?

Can someone come and help me!? Somebody!

- Is there anyone around?- Nope. There's no one.

If there's no one, then are you some ghost?

Wait! Are you Mr. Pai,

or are you the doctor?

- Neither. - Then you must be another patient.

Can you help me out?

No can do.

Hey, can you hurry and get me out? It's really gross down here.

Why should I help you out?

Even if you are a person that was just passing by, taking a walk after filling up your stomach,

you should still call out when you see injustice on the road outside.

If you don't want to help me out yourself,

couldn't you at least make a call to the nurse's station?

Once you help me get out of here, you will know who I am.

In fact, I'm actually quite popular so you might even ask for my autograph.

Okay then... I can also give you money.

Sir, what do you what from me in exchange for getting me out of here?

Answer some questions for me.

[What does this idiot think he's doing?]

Sure, no problem.

Do you, perhaps, believe in immortality?

Oh, no! He must be a patient from the psychiatric ward.

What should I do?!

I believe. I believe in immortality, I believe in everything you say.

Sir, are you happy with my answer?

So, do you want to become immortal?

Oh no, what type of question is that?!

He can only be seriously ill. What's with all these questions about immortality?

Do you... have Tanseng's flesh? (the monk in "Journey to the West" whose flesh granted immortality)

No, that is not the right answer, crazy people don't like jokes.

Okay, okay. Let me think. I will think about this very seriously.

Immortality...

Speaking for myself... I wouldn't want to be immortal.

Watching my family and friends pass away one by one...

No matter what I gain, I would still lose them one by one.

In the end, I would be left only with my lonesome self

and be treated like a monster by others.

Hey, sir, do you want to be immortal?

Close your eyes.

What?

Close your eyes. Count to five.

Five. Four.

Who is it? Who is it!? Who!?

Who is fooling with me!?

I won't leave!

I have old stomach pains, cervical pain, lumbar disc herniation, and varicose veins!

Your complete physical examination records are here.

You're so healthy that others would be envious.

Even your bones appear shiny.

You've kept yourself healthy as an actress.

Hey, why do you mock me? Laughing at someone like me who is so hardworking... there must be something wrong with you.

It'd be strange if you weren't sick somewhere.

Even the old man that works at a clinic in front of my house has told me

that if I go on a diet to lose weight, then my stomach will shrink to the size of gum.

And that skin that lacks fat will become dry and old.

How about this?

Help me do lasik surgery on my eyes. I am 500 degrees nearsighted and astigmatic.

Miss Tian, you already did an eye checkup last week.

You tested 2.0 in both eyes.

Now, you can go through the hospital discharge procedures.

Your eye doctor must be wrong! How can someone get into a car accident and improve her eyesight?

There's definitely something wrong with me! I refuse to leave!

Even if you kill me I won't leave! I will never leave the hospital!

I don't want to be seen like this by the reporters.

Don't you worry. We're avoiding both the front door and the back door.

We are taking the secret VIP route, through the side door.

Hi... Hello, everyone...

I really hate you.

Congratulations on your discharge. You appear to be in great condition.

When you were in that car accident, where did you get hurt? Was it severe?

I think, it must have been my heart that was injured.

I've been getting anxious easily lately and can often hear my own heartbeat.

Miss Tian, on the day of your accident, wasn't it the same day your boyfriend rejected your marriage proposal?

Do you still hate him?

Not at all. I'm thankful to him.

I'm also thankful that this accident showed me how precious life is.

I won't waste my whole life on Yuan Hen.

I will continue to work hard, and produce good shows,

in order to give back to the fans who have always supported me.

Miss Tian, the police officer said that during the car accident an overzealous fan took advantage of your unconscious state and kissed you. What do you have to say regarding this situation?

What!?

Why did no one tell me this!?

It's all over the news.

You were the one who didn't want to see it.

What!? Was this matter reported? We're talking about my first kiss here!

Ha, you've already had seven boyfriends, and you are still trying to keep your first kiss?

I have my principles! Okay?

Hand holding only after three full months of dating and kissing after six full months.

If a man can't even last for six months, why should I continue dating him?

I definitely don't want to end up like you, getting pregnant before marriage, and getting chased out by your mother.

You... What era are you even from?

Mei Mei did it right.

Remember, in order to fulfill the purpose of mating,

men will breed at all costs.

Lie!

You see?

Wisdom that he had to gain over the years, I've known about since I was born.

Mei Mei, aren't you going to wash in pomelo water?

Come on, even after such a terrible car accident,

I didn't even break a bone. Why should I go wash in pomelo water?

This can only prove that the King of Hell doesn't want you there.

It can't prove that you haven't lost.

If you weren't unlucky, you wouldn't have been rejected.

If you weren't unlucky, why were you in a car accident?

If you weren't unlucky, would you not have been kissed by some pervert?

Why can't I have amnesia!? Why can't I have amnesia!?

Because amnesia is for the main female lead.

You are the country's number two.

Xiao Yan is calling you. Are you going to pick up?

The King of Hell doesn't accept me. It's hard for me, too!

I'm going to soak in pomelo water!

There you go.

[Stem cell regeneration research center]

How has the investigation on the materials been going?

We are still searching.

The investigator has found the security footage from every camera and investigated every car.

He is also screening to find information of storage that fit the qualifications for storing a dormant body.

How about Tian Jing Zhi's side?

There's still no news. We can't contact them.

Officer Li probably is looking deeply into it, as she is the sole survivor of the car accident.

It's already been a month.

You know the importance of this case. You must find him soon.

Why are they investigating me?

Timing and Subtitles brought to you by The Mutant Team @ Viki

Very handsome!

Every day I wear 12 cm high heels

and waist strangling clothes to work.

Such a hard life I lead.

I should just rest for another two months before returning to work.

It's not like these two months will affect my earnings...

Dear God! Call the police! There's an emergency!

Both of my cards have been used up!

Oh, I was the one that used them.

Your hospital fee, and your car, even though it's already totaled.

There are still monthly payments left on the car to pay.

The worst thing is, because you didn't even have car insurance

we can't even get any money from the accident.

And this month's mortgage has been paid. The bill is on the fridge.

Match it up yourself.

Isn't my mortgage paid for by that book-moving company?

Otherwise, why would I stay at that expensive hospital for so long?

You were living there so happily, how could I tell you?

That company's CEO ran away.

It seems that he lost his transport.

He can't afford to pay for it.

Then you already knew that every day I was spending thousands myself?

Yeah! Although it was very wasteful,

the money you spent was earned by yourself!

Isn't Father a very rational

and smart person? Yeah!

The food is about to be served, where are you going?

I'm going back to my house to organize.

And make money!

If I remember correctly,

Mei Mei was on the "Income for Female Artists Leaderboard."

Right?

I'm going to call the police on you for breaking into private property.

I'm the police.

Then you can report me for attacking the police.

Before I came here, I requested two vacation days.

Feel free to attack me anywhere, but best not to hit my face.

Xiao Zhi, sorry.

Go ahead and hit me. I really didn't know that someone was there.

Don't be angry anymore.

If I become handicapped, are you going to take care of me?

I will.

Then do you regret it?

I don't regret it. It's not fair to you when I love someone else but stay with you.

You surely will find someone better than me.

Do I have to give you a silk banner, Li Yan Zhi? (a silk banner is used as an award or gift)

From now on, we're back to a brother and sister relationship.

You're only my godmother's son,

a younger brother whom I don't get in touch with.

You don't need to be worried that my appearances at family gatherings

will make you feel awkward.

I'll try not to show up.

Thus, I announce

Miss Tian Jing Zhi and Mr. Lee Yan Zhi

have successfully broken up.

Both parties may leave now. Thank you for your cooperation.

Hey! Wait! Wait! Xiao Zhi, wait! I'm here today...

Xiao Zhi, wait! Please listen to me.

The reason I'm here today is...

to investigate the car accident!

Xiao Zhi! Xiao Zhi! Please open the door.

Xiao Zhi! Please listen to me.

Xiao Zhi!

♫ Is happiness still there? ♫

♫ If it is two people in love, ♫

♫ where are the many obstacles that hinder us? ♫

♫ I thought I already understood. ♫

What to use to reduce swelling?

What to use to reduce swelling?

Hey, this. Cucumber can reduce swelling.

Li Yan Zhi,

you didn't take the path in heaven...

and yet you dare come to the gates of hell!

Go die!

Behave. Stop causing trouble.

I'll buy you a new battery tomorrow.

If you dare make more noise,

even if you cost ¥236.80,

I will beat you.

Understand? Think carefully and respond.

Good boy.

Hey. What are you looking at?

I just saw an incredibly handsome man over there.

He just met my gaze.

And then in a flash, he was gone.

So could I automatically deduce

that you still have feelings for me.

For what reason is Mr. Ye

coming to seek the girlfriend that he left three years ago?

I didn't cheat! (lit. split your legs)

Right now you're doing the splits!

Just why did you come?

If you wanted to visit the sick, then go away.

This lady is not responsible for satisfying the sympathies of her sixth ex-boyfriend.

How could your temper still be so poor?

No wonder you were rejected for marriage.

Thank you for your compliments.

But, you, Mr. Ye Chen, cannot enjoy for your entire life,

the pleasant feeling of having rejected this lady right here.

I still have a shoot tomorrow. I won't see you off!

Hey, Tian Jing Zhi, I came to find you because of serious matters!

Tian Jing Zhi! Tian Jing Zhi, listen to me!

The night of your accident, the truck that crashed into you

came from the private museum.

It was carrying a dead body that was being sent to the research center.

But when police arrived on the scene,

the casket was shattered,

and the body was gone.

This is the catalogue picture from the private museum.

So he lived here before he died.

Looks like you did him a great deed and brought him back home, huh?

Cause of death... The carotid artery was cut?

He was murdered?

I heard the police say that when the collision occurred,

he fainted immediately.

But when he was flung out of the car,

he landed directly on a broken piece of the window.

Think back carefully.

At that time,

was there anything out of the ordinary?

Didn't they say that the driver fell asleep at the wheel?

Are you saying the dead body ran off by itself?

Although the police have determined

that the incident was caused by the driver falling asleep at the wheel,

the problem is, we lost the dead body.

This could very likely be

a planned murder and robbery.

If it's really murder,

wouldn't you want to catch the guy that caused you to be sent to the hospital?

I'll think one more time.

Too horrifying!

Did you remember something?

I don't remember anything.

- Hurry and leave my house! - What's wrong with you?

- Get out! - Hey, Tian Jing Zhi.

- Get out! - Think carefully!

As for what you lost, go find the police.

If you come again, I'll report you for harassment!

Hey!

That creep must've brought those dirty things in here. He must have.

I didn't do you any wrong!

Hurry and leave with him.

I just came out of Tian Jing Zhi's house, and I'm worried she might be in danger.

Could you request protection for her, Officer Li?

She is the only witness from the car accident.

Unless she applies for protection herself,

I can't request it.

But, Mr. Ye, are you being dramatic?

For a woman to be hostile toward an ex-boyfriend

is very normal.

You're already very fortunate that your nose was not broken.

Investigator, let me tell you something off the record.

This dead body is very special research material.

If other research facilities

found out about this special body,

I believe that they would do anything in their power to get it.

So even if my ex-girlfriend,

Tian Jing Zhi, doesn't know anything at all,

she may be in danger.

Don't lump me in as the same kind of person you are.

Xiao Zhi is very important to me.

I will definitely figure out what really happened.
