that is a hatching ground for spirits at unrest.

of our investigation at this old mansion.

One of my scariest nightmares that we are about to relive.

scariest, and funniest moments from our investigations.

Let's see what episode we're watching today.

Oh, eureka!

Tintic mining district.

We are in eureka, utah,

investigating another ghost town.

There are so many multiple abandoned buildings

where people are being attacked,

and there's also some residents doing rituals to summon

those very spirits

in the very buildings they own.

Something about mining towns,

the activity is just completely different

from other locations that we go to.

It's a whole other different level.

Yeah.

And I think it's all those mines underground

are truly just magnifying the energy in these towns,

without a doubt.

For this lockdown, we've invited julie jordan,

senior writer for people magazine,

to experience what it's like to investigate

with the "ghost adventures" crew.

She went right in the trenches with us.

Incorporated in 1892,

eureka became the financial center of utah's

tintic mining district, where, for several decades,

record-setting amounts of silver and gold

were gutted from the earth's belly.

But even the spirits of the miners,

they're probably still there

because they don't know any better but,

"that's my gold. I'm not leaving."

but these towns are sitting on a battery bed.

Yeah. Think of the minerals that are in the ground.

Many of eureka's original buildings remain.

That and its proximity to these now-dormant mines

make it a beacon for spiritual energy.

These are my favorite locations to investigate,

are mining towns.

They're a part of us. This is how we got our start.

There was so much in this one. There was a lot.

How are you doing, zak? Welcome to eureka.

The mayor.

Well, he's the guy that called us, right?

He was the one saying... Oh, yeah.

...That we needed to come here.

In 1915, marshal alex robertson was murdered in cold blood

by the very man he apprehended.

And these little towns are just a whole other world.

I love them.

You think just the way that people lived back then, too?

It was lawless.

Like, there's so much death and crime.

Yet no murder in eureka's tempestuous history

can compare to the amount of death

once besieged on this town.

And people were buried in a mass grave

down in the cemetery here.

A disease is -- you're being murdered by a virus.

You're being murdered by a dangerous bacteria.

Scary.

And the whole town just picking up dead people.

You're the only survivor.

During this epidemic, there were so many deaths,

the undertaker had a horse-drawn wagon...

[ wind whooshes, hooves clopping ]

...And he'd ride up and down the streets

three or four times a day calling out...

[singsong voice] bring me your dead.

I mean, just imagine that this virus comes in

and you're just scared to leave your house

because just a simple touch or breath...

Could infect you with this

and you die because there's no treatment.

Wipe out entire towns. And you don't die peacefully.

No. So anytime that you see these epidemics,

that is a hatching ground for spirits at unrest.

Zak: As we're ready to descend upon the gatley,

said to be one of eureka's most haunted buildings,

someone suddenly appears to warn us

about another far more dangerous building...

That lies up in the mountains,

which forces our investigation to take an unexpected turn.

This house -- we did not know about

an hour before we were driving up this hill.

We were not adding this to the investigation.

We didn't even know about it.

Built over a century ago,

this was once home to members of the fitch family.

As owners of the chief consolidated mining company,

they were one of the preeminent mining families in eureka.

I'll never forget that.

That was, like, surreal.

Aaron: At first I was like, "oh, this is gonna be cool."

and then the night of... It turned.

This is what I love about our investigations, though,

just not knowing what we're gonna run into.

-Zackary stone. -Yes, yep.

When you investigated this house,

is it true that you stumbled upon something in here

that was a little disturbing?

I did.

I actually found what looks like some occult objects.

There was some human hair.

There was animal bones,

and there was, like, a pouch full of something.

I did find some interesting books for witchcraft

and some tarot cards.

This is when everything changes,

when someone is telling you they start finding bones

and pouches and ritualistic items.

Yeah.

Because now you don't know what this person is doing there,

how powerful that person is,

and what they're conjuring

and what their intent is.

It could be dangerous. And this was dangerous.

She's here, the owner, right?

Stone: Yeah. Billie is here.

Let's go see what's going on.

So we came to eureka ghost town,

and we didn't have this house

scheduled to investigate. Mm-hmm.

She thought I was just gonna ask about the history of the house,

but she doesn't know what zackary just told us.

She's letting us into her home, and we need to be cautioned

about what may be her energy is onto us.

From the beginning, when I came into this house,

I felt the energy.

Some things happen here that I can't always explain.

The mine is right there,

and there's a vortex of energy.

Do you sense spirits here in this house?

All the time.

This is a 110-year-old home.

There's a residual energy,

so they make themselves known

when they need to.

It's a living thing.

This is a very uncomfortable moment

when you were interviewing.

Yeah, but we didn't know... We didn't know why.

We didn't know now how severe it was

because she wasn't telling us. But we felt it.

do you ever participate

in any, like, seances or rituals

or anything like that?

Um...The...

I guess the people I run with in life

are in tune with alternative ways

of accessing spirituality.

During this interview,

she was not telling me everything. No.

And I started picking that up,

and little did I know that this interview

would really make her mad at me.

My roommate, he's a very powerful person.

You know who alex crowley is, right?

-Aleister crowley? -Aleister crowley.

-Yes. -Right.

He has studied for years the...

The works of aleister crowley? Mm-hmm.

So aleister crowley --

very, very dark, ritualistic individual.

And this guy, she's just telling us,

does practices based upon crowley's teachings,

which can be very dangerous.

Aaron: Yeah.

If we're gonna be in these locations opening ourselves up,

we need to know fully what's going on.

he's extremely intuitive,

very sensitive, spiritually sensitive.

He was here in the house by himself,

and he was awakened by being suffocated.

Somebody had a pillow over his face,

and he said, as he struggled,

he felt strongly that it was a woman,

and she was communicating to him

that she had been suffocated in this room.

The spirit of the woman was communicating to him

and was doing this to him so that he could feel

what she went through? -Right.

She was unprepared for this. You can tell right here.

Her body language was very, like, concealing.

Have you participated in any rituals with him

opening the gates to the spiritual realm?

Yeah, I would say that we have.

Zak: Could the powerful rituals being performed

by those who reside here

be creating a beacon for the dark energy...

to investigate how that property could be impacting

the already high levels of energy here.

who has been to all these buildings.

of investigating and we're getting older.

you're like, "oh, uh, uh, I can't see the lcd screen."

I mean, when you were perfect all your life

Carrie, I need you to take us into the gatley

and the old bank building, mccormick bank,

because I know that you've had some experiences.

...We enter the gatley.

It's weird because in your mind,

you kind of separate the ritual house from the mining town.

It is two separate locations, two separate lockdowns.

Yeah, it was weird after being up there at that house

and then just coming back.

It was like -- different energy.

Completely different.

Pytlik: This is a well. There is a...

-That's a real well? -Yes.

I thought that was just, like, a prop.

No.

No, there is still water down there.

Zak: Oh, my gosh.

There's an old gun that's been thrown down there.

Do you think that would be from a murder?

I mean, this was a mining town.

Zak: Could the gun resting in the bowel of this well

be the same one used to murder marshal alex robertson

in cold blood roughly 100 years ago?

Wells are very mysterious to me

because you never know what was thrown down the well... Right.

...150 years ago.

Or what died in the well.

I just wanted to find that gun.

So did I.

But you never found it. Good job.

Well, that means it wasn't down there.

Well, how do I know that you just didn't look good enough?

Well...

We've been here and had a black mass go from here,

up the stairs,

and you see the dirt just falling off the steps.

so later on during our investigation,

those stairs,

we captured something really, really cool.

Exactly.

Oh, yeah, I kept feeling like

we're in a different part of the world

right in that stairwell that whole time.

You're right. It led to something else.

So, obviously, the door isn't functioning anymore,

but back in the day,

this could have led to something else in the building.

Whoa. What was that?

Ouch, dude.

What?

Something just hit my hand right here.

It hit me right where I had the cross on my finger.

Oh, that's right! This was awesome.

In the spirit world, these stairs lead to something

that they still use, a roadway.

This spike of contact

could be the result of a territorial spirit

guarding this area and further proof

that something here is fueling these manifestations.

To have an actual well still full of water,

this is a major source of what's going on here.

And if a weapon was thrown down in there

that was used to kill somebody,

that could definitely curse this well, you know?

If anybody wants to know why

I wear a dust mask all the time

and nobody else does, over the years of doing this,

I was breathing in so much dust that I developed

this hypersensitivity respiratory condition.

If I get one big whiff of dust,

my lungs will do this --

like, what is that called, a spasm?

It creates mucus and takes like two to three days

for me to clear it out.

What's the next building?

Pytlik: Well, the mccormick bank is here.

I mean, it's dark, and it looks like,

just like a jail cell down there.

I do feel cold.

As soon as I am investigating and I feel something,

I immediately want to have the interviewee come

and feel what I'm feeling,

somebody I don't know to validate for us

and for you that I am feeling something.

The more people that can experience it,

the more confirmation you have.

Zak: Can we clear this for a second?

Aaron, do you have that full spectrum?

Yeah.

Whoever is in this hallway...

[ camera shutter clicks ]

...Can you show yourself for me?

this thing won't take pictures.

After taking just one photo of this hallway,

suddenly, our full-spectrum camera malfunctions,

preventing us from documenting any potential evidence.

It's so weird when that happens.

We've had a lot of locations where that's happened.

It's as if something here doesn't want to be seen.

Pytlik: It's funny.

Your camera issues happen to us all the time in there.

-Really? -Oh, yeah.

The spirits when they're manifesting

and we felt that cold air,

there's a lot of things that happen within the air,

and that can disable electronic things.

Like, as soon as you left the building,

it worked again.

who will be joining us for lockdown.

Julie is gonna be joining us tonight on our lockdown.

But you're already experiencing things.

You've walked into a couple of these buildings.

You've already had a few little experiences, right?

Yes. Lights were flickering

for no reason and went off really suddenly and loudly,

and it's made me jump a little.

I love having third-party people

come witness our investigations,

let alone a person

that works for a major media outlet

to truly witness and see the process

of which we investigate.

She was great, too, because she was there to experience it,

and then she jumped in to investigate

and, like, wanted to be there.

We really love when we have guests like this.

We capture evidence.

-Yeah. -We're gonna hope,

but there's never any guarantees.

I'm excited to watch how you guys do this.

inside the gatley building.

While we're in here, there's something very dangerous

because we're in all dark.

There has been a claim that a murderer

threw a revolver down this well.

I wish we found that gun.

We should've walk down that, man.

It could still be buried in the mud.

Yeah, the mud. Maybe that's it.

Zak: We don't know a lot about you.

We are visitors.

That was weird.

Julie: Hold on. Something just got...

It was, like, cold. -Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.

There's no air on in here, is there?

We just got hit. I backed away.

It went, literally, it went whoosh like this.

I love that when you see someone, like,

kind of experiencing something for the first time,

they're so -- and how they translate it.

She knew that that wasn't normal.

Yeah, but immediately, we wanted to try to debunk this.

Zak: What did you feel?

It just was cold, just like that.

It felt like there was a breeze, but...

And then I thought the door was open, but it wasn't.

-Oh. -Well, whatever it was,

it went that way, too.

It went that way. It literally just...

-Yeah. -It was cold air, like whoosh.

Zak: We begin using the structured light sensor camera

to see if this cold transient gust of air

could result in mapping a spiritual figure.

After scanning throughout the entire building,

we capture zero figures.

Now, anytime that we feel something like this,

something wooshes by us or we feel an energy,

we immediately want to use the sls

to see if we can see this figure

that is invisible to our eyes.

And try to capture what we feel.

Zak: But as we make our way over to this staircase,

we document something else that is visually compelling.

Can you show us how loud you go up on these stairs?

This is where you touched me yesterday.

that comes out of the staircase.

I've never seen an anomaly go like that.

Like it's going down the stairs.

Aaron: Yeah.

Julie: I'm just gonna just, like, shoot up the stairs.

Zak: Why don't you appear next to her?

-Are you okay? -It's like air is coming up.

We'll turn a light on here in a second.

Now, she was feeling a cold draft,

but immediately, I started feeling

a draft come from the wall.

So I thought that there was a hole in that old rock wall.

Zak: But as we walk outside to check

the exterior of the building,

we find a large open crack that is causing the cold wind

that julie is feeling.

There is a hole here.

Billy: Yeah, we can see your light come through.

-Is there? -Debunked.

I love that you guys do that.

-Say that again. -Debunked.

I love how she goes, "debunked."

[ laughter ]

"debunked!"

when it comes to evidence, there's three things that we do.

We categorize them as authentic paranormal evidence,

as unexplained,

meaning it could be something else but we just don't know,

or it's debunked as we know what is causing it.

Right.

Zak: We decide to conduct an evp burst session

where we just captured

an extremely compelling light anomaly.

we can transmit messages.

where, before our lockdown even started,

and had an intense experience.

I was just checking out the space,

and then the light in the back was flickering,

and no one was back there,

and then we looked down in that cell,

and that light went out.

This light flicked off, back on, back off,

and then that one went off hard, and I jumped.

Zak: Billy will stay back and continue

investigating the gatley building by himself.

The great part is julie really wanted to come

and see what we do,

and she wants to examine this process.

We immediately head to the back area,

where a staircase leads down to a jail cell.

This is the part that our guest investigators fear the most,

the "ghost adventures" initiation solo mission.

Jordan: Okay. You haven't been down there?

-No. -You don't know what it...

No. Well, this is, a lady said,

where she got pushed

and where she heard the growls coming from.

julie. -Yes?

I'm gonna leave you with this recorder,

and then we're gonna review it on the laptop.

-Okay. -Okay?

You want to investigate with us for the first time...

...What am I going to do?

Jay: Leave you by yourself.

It's kind of hazing, if you think about it.

The "ghost adventures" initiation solo mission

is what we call it.

Do I get initiated every episode?

Because I don't want to go by myself.

[ laughter ]

I'm afraid of the dark!

A lot of people don't know I'm afraid of the dark.

I'm in here by myself.

The vibe is different. Those guys are gone.

But now that I'm heading back towards the back here,

I got full-body chills,

so whatever is here might have been intimidated

by all of us being in here,

but apparently, it's not intimidated of me.

So I'm gonna go back in the back,

and I got to investigate alone.

Is anyone here?

If you talk into this red light,

I can hear you.

Were you killed in the cell?

[ gasps ] ooh, I just saw a light in the hallway.

Oh, my god.

Her fear is kicking in.

She's like, "not a good idea. I'm a part of this."

billy: She's thinking, "what did I get myself into?"

aaron: [ laughing ] I know.

Zak: As aaron, jay and myself are on our way back

to check on billy,

we are unaware that he is provoking a spirit.

You're a coward.

That's what you are.

That's right. I said it to your face.

I'm gonna walk around, and I'm gonna find you.

I shouldn't have done that.

I was provoking, and I don't usually do that.

-Billy? -Yeah.

Zak: Could you get the spirit, please?

-Sure. -Do you want anything?

[ billy speaking indistinctly ]

oh, my god. What the [bleep] was that?

Billy: As soon as I did that, though,

a board flew off the wall or something.

Did you hear it? -Come on. Yeah.

Like, something physical jumped off?

-Like, something... -I heard a noise.

No, something on that wall jumped out at me just now.

Shouldn't have did that.

Up until that happened, were you bored?

I was. I'm like, "I'm going to provoke."

you don't get it. Was that a joke?

[ laughs ]

Aaron: Oh, man.

Zak: All right. Tell her what happened.

I was challenging it.

Zak: I immediately roll on my recorder to see

if I can communicate with this spirit.

And upon playback,

we capture what sounds like a full sentence.

Can you make out what this spirit is saying?

-whoa. -What?

-Wait. -Whoa.

-What was that? -Did you hear the end?

-Yeah. -What was that?

Whoa! That's crazy.

That's incredible.

-Whoa. -What?

Wait.

I'm just so excited, too,

that she was there to witness that in the moment.

Zak: It is now time to head up the mountain

to begin the second part

of our investigation at this old mansion.

Earlier, we have learned that some very suspicious rituals

have taken place here resulting in physical attacks upon others.

Oh, gosh, this is like watching a completely --

switching to a different episode right now.

Right. It's like it goes to horror movie.

Zak: As we arrive, I am told that a man who also lives here

wants to conduct a summoning ceremony with us,

which puts us all on guard.

This is the first time

that we're meeting her "roommate,"

the dark ritual guy,

and they're going to do a ritual for us.

And at this point, I'm not comfortable

with julie participating on this

because of the dark nature of them...

It's not fair to her. ...It's not a safe thing.

And I made the call to not have her participate.

Aaron: Very smart.

While we are all still out here,

our cameras that are already rolling inside

start picking up on some strange pre-ritual behaviors by this man

and the woman we met earlier who owns the house.

[bleep]

I do.

Okay.

Blah!

What are their intentions

behind using this mirror in our ritual,

and why are they so hesitant about using it?

As we enter the house, we even inquire about the mirror

but don't receive a straight answer.

So the mirror needs to be here, too, and I don't know why.

Little did they know that we were running these x cameras

while they were setting up while we were outside.

They're talking about this mirror.

Like, what? Billy: Did you hear what she said?

He lays it down and says, "do you know why?"

and she's like, "yeah."

like they knew this mirror does really bad stuff.

And then he played kind of dumb

when we went in there.

He's like, "oh, yeah, the mirror needs to be here.

I don't know why." exactly.

zak: Inside this home in eureka, utah,

where people have been attacked by spirits,

we gather for a summoning ritual.

And as we all sit down, the tension in the air

can be cut with a blade.

We are all uncertain as to what we are getting involved in,

and we continue to observe very odd behavior.

This was really, really, really sketchy,

and we were all really, really on edge.

Our intuition was on point, though.

100%.

All our auras and energy

and after talking, knew something was wrong.

Uh-huh.

At this point, I was getting a little nervous

to see how upset she was about me asking about

what she was doing in the house. Aaron: Right.

I don't want to attack him at all.

We were here to witness his ability.

He was strong.

But he was very strange,

and little did we know it would lead to

one of the most terrifying pieces of audio evidence

that we have ever captured ever in our lives.

Yeah.

Zak: As I head back inside, the man named ted

begins giving us instructions for the summoning ceremony.

There's a north, south, east and west component to the summoning,

so I thought it best for four sides of the table to be filled.

Zak: Once again, aaron and myself step outside,

and as jay remains at the table alone,

he becomes extremely nervous.

So now we don't know exactly what ceremony we're doing.

We don't know if they are

going to have us as targets for something.

You guys leave me there with this guy.

Aaron: We realized things were bad.

It was kind of messed up. Right?
