in the spiritual world.

the same moment.

We have seen things
that defy explanation.

One of my scariest nightmares

that we are about to relive
for the first time ever.

scariest, and funniest moments

-Oh, the Enchanted Forest! Yeah.

We've done
a lot of ghost adventures.

We've done pretty much
every location you can think of,

except for one.

We've never truly investigated
a haunted old amusement park.

God. I grew up here.
All my life going there.

And, Aaron, we're here.

We're here at the
Enchanted Forest amusement park

near Salem, Oregon.

There's one thing I think is
gonna make you really excited.

What's that?

We've got the entire 20-acre
amusement park to ourselves.

Yeah!

-Wow!
-Wow, there it is.

That's the biggest I've ever
seen your mouth open.

-I was so happy.
-I did this in honor of

one of my most
favorite movies.

"National Lampoon's Vacation,"
Me and Aaron.

This is Chevy Chase and his son.
-"Chariots of Fire."

Yeah, you really did miss
that high five.

and I didn't like the hug.

Don't hug me
when I'm trying to run.

It's already hard enough
for me to run sometimes

with my asthma kicking off.
-Sorry.

ZAK: You came here
as a little child.
AARON: Yeah.

And you have memories
of that.
Yeah.

The reason why we're here

isn't just for Aaron to
revisit his childhood,

the real reason
that we're here is

this place
really is enchanted.
Yeah.

The imagination that this guy
has is incredible.

It's great,
but it's nightmarish.

-Yeah.
-Yeah.

ZAK:
The owner has invited us
to his park,

which is now closed
for the season

because unexplainable events
have been reported here.

Could this establishment
be cursed?

Or might it sit on a portal
to another dimension?

Roger Tofte conceived
of this theme park

while on a family vacation
in 1964.

He quickly returned home,
purchased this 20-acre hillside,

and set out on
the extraordinary task

of building this park by hand,

one bag of cement at a time.

This isn't just like
a theme park.

It's in a real forest.

Some people have described

Roger's obsessive desire
to build

as bordering on madness.

After seven long years,

the park would finally open
to the public.

Look at this place.

This is like
when you were little

And there was always something
about those nursery rhymes

that scared you

and they still scare you
to this day.

It is a whole other world
when you enter in here.

And it's not just the things
that he created.

There is something there
that has been conjured

by all the children's
imaginations over the years.

Just walking in here,
it truly is in the forest.

There's huge trees, there's
lots of cool little hills

and everything you walk up.

Who is this?
Come on up.
Is this the owner?

-And look at his entrance.
-There he is.

Guy just cruises around there
all the time.

Look at this.
Yeah.

Are you the -- Are you the owner
of this place?

Yeah.

It's an honor

That is so cool.

You made my childhood
something.

Aaron, you knew this guy
when you were a little kid.

Well, I see him
walking around.
Don't talk with
your mouth full.

You know,
you asked me a question.

Cover your mouth.

Like, if you have food.

Have you ever heard
of anybody

having spiritual experiences
here or seeing things?

That's my favorite part of the
whole park is the haunted house.

They have?
Yeah.

They've run out?

Yeah, thinking, you know,
they've heard things in here.

-The haunted house was.
-That was my kid nightmare.

You built a haunted house
that is actually haunted

inside
the Enchanted Forest.

We are going to investigate
your Enchanted Forest.

MAN: Look at this.
[ Laughter ]

Wow, Zak,
break the scooter.

[ Laughter ]

Hush. Hear it?
[ Eerie music plays ]

That's the haunted house.
What?

[ Laughs ]

This place is every
child's nightmare.

[ Laughs ]

[ Music continues ]

What?!
[ Howling ]

God is a kid that was so scary.

-Are you kidding me?
-How did it compare from

when you're a kid
to being an adult there?

Being there
when no one was there

was a whole different
experience.

Do you feel the energy
in here is threatening?

It definitely is
anxiety-inducing.

Ashley is the granddaughter
of Roger Tofte.

Inside here,
it's just terrifying.

Like, you panic?
Yeah.

Definitely, there's
immediate anxiety,

like, walking in there
or even thinking about it.

I think what got me was
the genuine fear

that the employees had
when we were interviewing them.

Remember, this isn't
just a haunted house.

This isn't just
a haunted attraction.

The workers had some
very profound experiences there

before we showed up.

Hello, there.
I'm around you.

I feel that panic
already.

Do you?
Yeah, I do.

Every hallway's dark
you can't even see things.

Wow,
look at this stuff.

This is when the fun part
of it started wearing off

and we started getting
into serious business

that this place
is really haunted.

Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa!

Dude, something just grabbed
my elbow underneath here.

I swear to God.

But it wasn't over here.
It was, like, under here.

That was cool, dude.

That was an incredible moment.

It was a firm grip
on my elbow.

Someone or something
has clearly attempted to stop me

from continuing through
this vintage haunted attraction.

That thing's
like a time capsule, though.

So it was that's exactly
how it was when you were a kid.

Yes. Nothing much
ever changed. Always the same.

ZAK: As we begin walking down
this staircase,

it seems as though
whatever grabbed my elbow

is still following us.

Whoa. Come here, come here, come
here!

Ashley, come here.

Do you feel this right here?
Just came up on me.

Yeah. Yeah, it got really cold
all of a sudden.

Something very short in energy
mass started following us.

And this is after I felt
that grab on my elbow.

and we just start feeling
it following us all around.

But it's moving.

It's moving.
It's moving.

It's right here now.

Yeah, I felt it,
I felt it.

Yeah, I just wanted
somebody else to know that --

It's not there now?

It's about this high.

A little kid maybe.

We got to think we're the
only people hanging out there,

because it's closed at the time.

So like this energy was probably
like, "Ooh a person!"

-Like "Oh, who are you guys?"
-You know what I mean?

Like immediately.

Who or what
is reaching out to us?

Where did they come from,
and why are they manifesting

in a haunted house
in this theme park?

Our next stop is
the Challenge of Mondor,

where another park employee
has become extremely affected.

It felt dark in there,
really dark.

So you are the ride operator
for this ride?

Yes.
Okay.

How long you been
doing this for?
Six seasons.

Watch his demeanor here
when he starts talking

about
what he witnessed in there.

I opened the ride
by myself.

And I thought I heard
footsteps behind me.

And then
five seconds later,

it's like I just got hit
with this, like, energy,

like, right through me,
and it made me really dizzy.

And then I just
got the chills.

This really affected him.
This guy.

Does it feel like an energy
that is going through you?

Yeah, yeah, and it was --

Yeah, I mean, it was
just unexplainable.

And also,
we have infrared cameras,

and we watch the ride
on the display.

When I would videotape that,
I would go back and hit "pause,"

and I would go really slow,

and then that's when I could
see, like, these shapes.

Now, see, if you look --
What the heck?

This is really interesting.

Pretty incredible
when this guy shared photos

of visual evidence
that he captured.

This is really bizarre.

Okay, so what I'm gonna do is,
I'm gonna go to the next one.

Here it is again.

It's now changed shape.

Very unusual.

Now, we'll go to the next one,
and there it is again.

It is still there,
it's still manifested.

And now it's completely
changed shape,

and it's glowing
at the top.

This is really compelling.

So cool. Look at that.

Somebody on Twitter
looked at it, paused it

and said that it actually looks
like a spirit holding a baby.

You see it?
-Yeah, right there.

It's right there.
You see that?

-You see the arm?
-It looks like there was a kid

being held and like they're
looking down at the baby.

-Yeah.
-Right. Right. Right.

...my powers to be destroyed.

So we've reached the spot

where Chris has captured
those anomalies.

And I'd say they're hovering
about this --

this high off the ground,
would you say?

Yeah, yeah.
Just right around there, yeah.

The way I'm feeling now,
I haven't felt this since I --

since I left.
What are you feeling now?

Being back in here,
I just feel really light,

and I feel -- you know,
I've been getting the chills.

Yeah, yeah.

Look at the expressions
on his face that affected him,

that really affected him.

This place really inspired me
to like buy a lot

of that old little
Humpty Dumpties and stuff

from old theme parks.

Whoa, what is this?
What is in there?

People laughed at me
because of how dramatic I got.

I read a few things
and I kind of got to me.

This is what I imagined!

Lookit, the bunny people.
"The bunny people." [ Laughs ]

The little munchkin people.
Mad Hatter.

These are the things stuck
in my brain

ever since I was a little kid
that still give me nightmares.

-Yeah. Stuff is scary.

Remember I said
the witch's mouth?
Yeah, yeah, yeah,
yeah, yeah.

The witch face
with the mouth open?

That's what you fear,

when you're a kid going there
all the time.

Think about the modern horror
movies now that are inspired by

these kinds of things.

These little children here,
talking to the witch,

believe that this witch
really does live here,

and if you believe
so much about something

and multiply that by
over a million children,

this becomes true.

That's So creepy.

Zak, here's the picture.

No way.
Yeah. That's me.

Over 30 years ago,

Aaron and his sister
took a photo

in this same exact spot.

Aaron, was it weird reliving
that moment while trying

to read you in the photo?
-Oh, yeah.

And my sister is right here,
and my grandma's right there.

Look at this.

-There he is.
-There he is.

Oh, my Jim Carrey haircut.

[ Laughter ]

You could see the rocks
in the background,

you can match them up perfectly,
isn't that weird,

That you're in that
same exact spot?

It's weird to see yourself as a
kid then older.

Because we're investigating
the entire amusement park,

I want to see everything
that we can.

Maybe there's something
in this forest

that takes the imagination
of children

and turns it into reality.

These statues
are super creepy.

AARON: Jack and Jill
fell down the hill.

Yeah. Jack and Jill went up the
hill to fetch a pail of water.

And Jack fell down,
broke his crown.

You know the rest.
[ Laughter ]

-Or do you?
-I didn't know that.

We know.
Oh, my gosh.

What is in there?

You -- We probably won't fit,
I don't think,

but it goes all the way through
a tunnel out the end.

Whoa, whoa, whoa,
look at the trees.

I didn't see that.
Look at this.

I don't trust this place, man.
There's something to it.

Come check this out.
This is the witch's mouth.

[ Cackling ]

Gonna figure how to
make that the entrance to
my house on Halloween.

Oh, look at that witch.

Come on in.

You walk into it.

Oh, my God.

You're gonna walk in
and then slide out.

This was the most awesomest
thing as a kid.

Look at that --
just the crooked nose,

and the mouth,
you go into it.

We can play forever.

That's awesome.
It's just so creepy.

Well, imagine being
a little kid.

The thing that got me

is like he built
all this fun stuff, you know?

But then everywhere
he's gotten this kind of stuff,

it's trippy stuff.

[ Cackling ]

Look at that.
That's terrifying.
Terrifying.

I was a kid, I was like --

I really do think that
this guy that created this place

has some kind of mysterious
spiritual intent

by inserting some of these
little scary paintings

and all that stuff
to give kids nightmares.

-Maybe.
-It's kind of scary.

'Cause it gave me
nightmares.

And he gets enjoyment
out of that.

And he gets money in this.

And this.
Oh, God, this guy.

Creeped me out.
What the hell?

Something is not right here.

Could this door right here
be the actual door

for where spirits
cross in and out of?

That door,
I used to think was real.

I used to think as a kid,
you could walk all the way

down the hallway and didn't
understand how I couldn't.

Lots of mysteries here.

And all these mysteries revolve
around scaring children.

We are getting ready
to be locked down inside

a huge forest
from a fairy tale.

However, inside
this amusement park

are very real proof
and evidence

of spirits, of entities,

and perhaps these same creatures
that have become a reality

from the imagination
of millions of children,

including this man,
Aaron Goodwin.

This is probably one of
the highlights of my life

going back in here at night.

That hunt with you guys, dude.
Oh, my God.

Aaron and Jay will investigate
the grounds

while Billy and I start at
the Challenge of Mondor ride,

where a ride operator
has documented

compelling visual evidence
of the paranormal.

The most powerful thing to me
was that visual evidence

and I really, really, really

wanted to collect it in there.

MAN: 100 percent.

When do you ever get
to walk through a ride?

When it's off, right?
-Right.

-Never.
-It was like they shot
Disneyland down.

Right?

Five inside of this shut down
quiet ride was so it was cool.

Yeah, it's a totally
different feeling.

Chris captured a lot of very,

very strange anomalies
in here --

shape-shifting,
hovering off the ground --

I want to see if we can
capture that, as well,

and see if we can speak to it.

ZAK: I feel okay.

I don't feel how I did
when I was here

during the interviews.

I don't feel off-balance,
I don't feel dizzy.

Whoa.
That was weird.

What happened?

That was weird, Billy.

It was like hummingbird wings
were in my ear.

[ Imitates
wings fluttering ]
That flutter sound.

Yeah, but it kind of
knocked my vision out first --

or my sight -- or my hear--
Oh, I'm confused now.

Sounded like a bee
was, like, buzzing in my ear.

It's happened a couple times to
me, too over the years.

Billy will use a new device
engineered by Gary Galka

called the Mel meter,

which uses thermal sensors
to detect heat and cold,

indicated by red and blue
directional lights.

Anytime that we can validate
things that we're feeling,

with scientific instruments.
that's the most important part.

Yeah, total validation
for what we're feeling.

Did you just do something
to my ear?

I'm aiming it
directly at you.

[ Meter beeping ]

That's me -- red.
That's you.

So I'm gonna move over here
to show me moving over here.

Now, what's the blue?
Why is there cold?

And I'm gonna go over here
to show my redness.

Right.
Heat is following me
over here.

Did you see the blue?
There is something
on the left of me.

There's something here where
my -- it affected my ear.

The heat moves
with the device.

We were able to document
a mass moving in front of that.

Yeah.

As I am demonstrating
how the red lights

will follow my body heat,

the device detects a blue cold
air mass to my left,

which is the same spot
where I just had

this strange buzzing event
with my left ear.

Can you come here
to the left side of me?

Over here.

That's just my hand
going over there.

See there, see?
Boom, boom.

God, that's cool.

And I just felt
a cold draft of wind.

And it was just
one L.E.D. of cold,

which means it's
floating around.

On cue,
this cold air mass returns,

which is indicated
by the blue light.

However, this is just
not enough evidence

to prove there's anything
paranormal quite yet.

At this point,
it's just a cold mass moving.

We may be picking up on it,

it is strange,
but now we want to pursue it.

Is this a spirit?
Will the spirits speak to us?

AARON: Hey, Humpty.

Humpty Dumpty.

We'd like to play
and talk with you.

-Yeah. You never know.
-You think Humpty was gonna talk

No. But it was so creepy.

I figured he'd go
off the shelf and go,

Well didn't
Humpty Dumpty die?

-Yeah. He fell off a wall.
-[ Chatter ]

Yeah, but it wasn't
a real person.

-It's a nursery rhyme.
-How do you know?

-It was just made up.
-It could be based on

some trippy thing.
-Could be based on something.

We're gonna come in.

JAY: Should I keep
getting that X cam?

Hold right here.

ZAK:
As Jay sets his camera down

in order to go back to retrieve
an X camera from base camp,

Aaron ventures inside
of the gingerbread house,

at which time something
really freaks him out.

[ Rustling ]

What happened to you here,
Aaron?
I heard it.

Something like growled or
screeched or something, right?

[ Rustling ]

AARON: What was that?

Oh, my God, dude, oh, my God.

Oh, my God.

Oh, it was so scary.
It's this noise.

Oh, my God, bro.

Ohh.

Oh, my God.

So you were going
to get that camera, right?

Yeah.

I stop in here,
I completely stop,

and it sounds like --
I thought it was an animal

because the leaves were moving,
you heard footsteps,

and then it just, like --
I took off.

But I can see both angles
of the door.

Nothing came out.

Geez.
Oh, my God.

What?
Come here.

Look in here.

Hansel and Gretel, where she
would put them in the fridge.

Put them in the oven
to eat them.

I didn't put that together
until you just said that.

Like, what if this whole
fairy-tale world comes alive

so kids come in here
in fear of getting eaten?

Exactly.
I felt that.

It's like that fear
and that imagination

is what manifests
everything here.

All these stories being told,
the manifest and the stories.

What if some energy adapts?

-It's a theory...
-It's a theory but it's...

-...it's a good theory.

Little kids always seem to be
talking to people

or having imaginary friends.

It's because their imagination,
I believe, isn't contaminated

by real life stimulus
and stuff.

So in that sense,

I believe that
all these children together,

other spirits there then
are attracted to the children.

ZAK: As Billy and I investigate
the Challenge of Mondor ride

here in the Enchanted Forest,

we continue to follow
these transient cold air masses

that contain high levels
of electromagnetic energy.

Where was this at that --
-Still on that ride, right?

Mechanic-looking guys that are
on a throne or whatever?

I didn't like this room
at all.

I mean, look at that space they
created. Yeah.

BILLY: This thing is creepy
as hell, man.

I know.

This unexplained
mist-like anomaly

shoots into frame
as a singular orb.

It then splits off
to form two orbs of light

before a separate anomaly
appears to start glowing

as the other two orbs
fly past it,

heading towards the altar.

Oh, that's right.
This was on the floor!

And again, that would
correspond with the evidence

that that guy
was collecting on the floor.

But still, though, Bill,
to this point,

I wasn't convinced
that we were dealing

with anything paranormal.
-Right.

Hey, this feels really
different right in here.

Just in this area

I'm frozen right now.

These things are staring
right at me in my infrared.

Look at that face.

Yeah. Again, they're
scary-looking things,

but we're not letting these
scary-looking props

influence our...

in the investigation.

We know they're props.

So we're in this area
of the Mondor ride.

It's like
a swirl of energy.

AARON: If you can talk,
I'm checking your tonsils.

"I'm checking your tonsils."

the witch now?

-Why did we let him

-It's hard to wrangle him in.

He's trying to talk to the
witch and he's trying to
talk to Humpty Dumpty.

So in your imagination,

you thought the witch
and Humpty Dumpty was real.

So you were seeing
if they would manifest to you.

JAY: Do you hear that?
Yeah, what was that?

[ High-pitched frequency ]

It's like...
get that out of my mouth.

It's not doing it again.

That picked up some kind of
strange frequency or something.

Why?
That shouldn't
have feedback.

Look how close I am.
Why would I get that feedback?

Was that you?

Do you not like us
investigating your land?

ZAK: Whoa.
Whoa.

Dude, I'm not joking
with you.

That was weird.

Ice-cold.

Up until now, we're still
feeling things brush against us,

we're feeling cold errors.

We're getting some
interesting anomalies.

But I still am not convinced
that we encountered

any paranormal.

Who are you?
Step forward.

Why do you keep jumping around,
trying to scare me?

I've seen you twice now.
I saw you fly through the air.

And then I just saw you standing
over there for a moment.

Zak I saw someone standing
over there in the dark.

-You sure it wasn't a prop?
-No, there's no prop there.

I thought I saw someone
standing right here.

What?!

I thought I saw someone
standing right here, like this.

What are you?
You're obviously not human.

And that's when
the device goes off.

[ Meter beeps ]

[ Gasps ] Whoa!
Did you see it run by?

Yeah. I didn't get
anything on thermal.

Was it directly
in front of you?
Yes.

Hang on.

That's where I felt
the cold spot.

Billy's trying to pick up
on a cold air mass.

And you did, right?
-Yeah. The weirdest part is

that it just shows up
and disappears.

Did it just zip by you?
It just zipped by.

Two blue lights --
boom, boom.

I think it's flying around,
Zak.

Okay, I'm trying
to capture it.

Whoa!
[ Meter beeps ]

It was all blue.
It was all blue.

-That's where I saw -- [ Gasps ]
-And it just disappeared.

Did you see this thing
light up?
Yes.

All the bars lit up.
What color was it?

Blue, the whole thing!

In this corner right where
I saw that thing standing!

I'm all chilled up right now.
I think it's around me.

I 100 percent believe
that dude, what he saw.

You know, I'm just upset
we didn't capture.

To me,
I wanted to go get that, Bill.

You know, to me,
I still wasn't convinced

that just cold spots,
these were spirits.

Sometimes it doesn't
work that way.

and had a good point
about this door.

Did something conjure itself up?

Is this a doorway to anything?

While it just may appear as just
some kind of art form...

I still think
the owner of this place

knows things that we won't know.

disembodied, paranormal,
unexplained,

Aaron will immediately,
instinctively...

I was just about to say you were
just talking about the door.

[imitates door creaking] sound,

and then I heard,
like [imitates whispering]

ZAK: When we play back Aaron's
parabolic microphone audio,

he is absolutely right.

There is a faint whisper
that sounds like someone saying,

"Look at you."

Do that again.

Sounded like a door hinge
going [imitates hinge creaking]

What was that?

No, I was just about to,

Yeah.

You guys okay?
We're trying to watch a show.

We got to get one.

Aw!
Yeah! Hey, hey!

ZAK: We're just south
of Salem, Oregon,

at the Enchanted Forest
amusement park.

It is now time for
Aaron, Billy, and myself

to investigate
the haunted house,

one of the oldest attractions
at the theme park,

built in the early '70s.

We walked through here
during the day,

and during the day,
it was terrifying.

It's like an old fun house,
scary fun house,

but it is a real house,

and in this real house
are real spirits.

The staff refuse
to even go inside.

And, earlier,
during our interviews,

we felt a cold mass of energy,

with a witness,
come down the stairs.

This is where Zach

if you look behind it,

that it's mapping in.

There is no prop figure
behind it.

Watch very closely
as it moves into view

from behind this curtain.

Not only does this tell us

its exact distance
from the camera,

but it also eradicates
any possibility whatsoever

that this figure
could be matrixing

This figure was behind
the curtain and moved into view.

Which is incredible.
It didn't just pop up.

I am completely chilled!

My whole body is
frozen right now.

I can't move, dude.
Dude, that's crazy.

That spirit was floating
in the air

like all the other stuff.

And then I said,
"If you can hear me,
I want you to move your leg."

And what did it do?
It stopped and started
kicking its one leg.

It moved its leg.

It wasn't until right now

that I was a firm believer
that we are dealing

with actual spirits.

Just to try and debunk this
and rule out everything,

the figure is not appearing
anywhere where it was before.

Yeah, it moved.

It appeared there, it hovered,

it moved its body
when I asked it to.

And its extremities were
independently moving.

It was hanging there,
like it was just playing
around with us.

Like, "Hey, look,
I'm going to hover here.

I'm gonna hang out
just like all this other stuff."

It really accelerated me,
personally,

to make further
communication.

If we got that, now I want
to speak to the spirit.

A normal person
would be running out.

I was feeling it, literally.

I felt it on my elbow.

But our contact with this spirit
is far from over.

And she's very formal.

Like, all of her phrases
were very polite.

disembodied voice

that sounds like a woman
whispering right beside us.

Listen very closely
to us.

It said something,

Does it say,

-That's what it sounds like.
-I could hear that.

BAGANS: Do you know
where we're at?

"Come to something."

Whoa.

I mean...

All of a sudden
this female voice says,

"Come to mom."

BAGANS: Do you know

The same woman
for this long of a time...

-The whole time.
-...in communication.

-We're we're talking to her.

Like she's literally
just hanging out.

Could she be talking
to the child spirit

that we heard earlier,
with our own ears?

-Did you hear that?
-Yeah. What was that?

And what's interesting
is that "Come to mom,"

and then, that visual evidence
that the guy captured

-that looks like...
-A woman.

...a woman carrying a baby.

That's true. Huh.

tells us "goodbye,"

I feel like a cable of energy
detaches itself from me,

and I can barely move.

BAGANS: It feels really weird

Hey, we just
want to say,

this is the most incredible
thing we've ever had.

We're in the Haunted House,
and at the Enchanted Forest.

"He saved my life."

All of a sudden, a new spirit
introduces himself,

and tells us
that someone saved his life.

A lot of times, when we make
communication like that

for an extended
amount of time,

just imagine
you're being hooked up

to some kind of
spiritual power cable.

And then, after
that communication, I was done.

It's so draining.

It takes everything
out of you.

I don't think I've ever
experienced having

a conversation
with a spirit...

with the same exact voice,

just answering a question
after question after question.

Still, the question remains,

who was this woman
that we are communicating with?

-Who was the child?
-Who's the child?

in real life?

That's the question --

This all started when
I started feeling that

on the back of my neck --
the ice cold.

And to me,
if I could visualize it,

it was a spirit holding on to
the back of my neck

that entire time,

taking all my energy
directly out of my spinal cord.

That was one of
the most incredible

communication sessions
that we have ever done.

Hands down.
And you know what?

I was not expecting it to happen
at the Enchanted Forest.

And this just goes
to show you,

sometimes it's the places
that you least suspect.

True.

But we need to go back,
and get more answers.
