to have some fun family competition.

Jessa: Today, the family is competing in a race

that we are calling the duggar dash.

Ben: Jess and I love races.

Michelle: Oh, I know you do.

The first team to finish all the challenges

and make it back to the big house will be the winner.

[ indistinct shouting ] ugh.

Jim bob: These thoughts would come in my mind

how gross this was,

and I felt like I could just throw up.

Austin: On the way to each activity,

we were discussing our game plan.

That's yellow. You want to wear that all day?

Jim bob: Hey, here's a red dress. Do you like that?

Where's the baby? There it is. Alright, let's go.

It just seems like

we keep losing more time every step of the way.

We had to go up and then over the side of it.

James, you can do this, right?

We were getting the sense

that this was going to be a real competitive race.

We had so much fun at the corn maze

that I thought it would be a great idea

to just take it up a notch,

and we are going to have some fun family competition.

And we're going to do some racing around town.

Ben: Jessa and I love races.

Oh, I know you do. I know.

The family had such a good time when we did the corn maze race

that now we are organizing an even bigger competition.

The family is dividing into teams,

and lauren and I are staying back to watch the kids.

We decided to create the teams based on the old buddy system

we used to use, with some updates.

The buddy teams got started years ago

when our older children were very little

and I had a number of little ones

under like the age of 10.

I would team them up,

and we found which ones seemed to work best together,

and it just kind of grew into buddy teams.

The first team is...

Come on, ladies and gentlemen.

I feel pretty confident.

I feel like we have

a wide variety of talents on our team,

but at the same time,

we only have austin, I, and james

that are considered adults.

And then we have the younger kids.

we're not as confident as we should be.

I think that we're not going to be able

to go as fast as some teams, I feel like.

Because I'm great with child.

we may be the birthing team.

Oh, that's true.

We'll make a pit stop at the hospital.

I'll drive to the hospital.

Athletic things that I have planned for you.

Kendra: I am definitely about due,

but I was really excited

to be a part of the whole duggar dash.

And the next team is...

jim bob: Alright. That's a competitive team.

There is always the hope that my team will win first place,

and then there's always the reality that my team

will probably get last place.

No driving too fast, guys.

Our final team is...

It is important

for each team to stay together,

and to be able to win,

you have to cross the finish line as a team.

This is all about teamwork.

Michelle: The duggar dash is going to be

a series of challenges around town.

The quicker a team finishes the challenge,

the sooner they get instructions for the next one.

The first team to finish all the challenges

and make it back to the big house will be the winner.

So there's no cutting corners.

Do not speed.

We want to be safe and have a great time.

For the first challenge,

one representative from each team

will have to eat a mystery food item.

To start this game off, I need each team

to choose one representative from your team

for this challenge.

We're going to play "musical chairs,"

but instead of having chairs,

we're going to have four colors of tiles over here.

Whichever color square a person lands on

will determine the mystery food that they will eat

and the color of their team moving forward.

Babe, we're not as fast as you.

Well, it's probably more about, like, what you're eating.

Johannah: Kendra. Jim bob: Come on, kendra.

We don't want to make you throw up, though.

What if it's, like, crickets or something in there?

I don't know. They want me to do it.

Woman: Pops, pops. You need --

yeah, pops, I think you better step up

for the food challenge.

Jim bob: We were going to let kendra be the representative,

but then we thought since she was expecting,

it may not work out very well.

So I went ahead and stepped up and became the representative.

Michelle: So, we're going to go through each one of the dishes.

To unveil the first one -- tater tot casserole.

Tater tot casserole is, of course,

a family favorite going back to when the kids were young.

Haggis. Jim bob: Alright.

Some of the family tried haggis when we went to scotland.

Jim bob: I love tater tot casserole,

so that's what I was hoping I would get.

But I definitely did not want haggis.

I've had haggis before, and it was terrible.

It's probably one of the worst things

I've ever put in my mouth.

Cricket tacos.

Alright. Jessa: Yay, pops.

Michelle: Kendra and joe tried cricket tacos

when they visited jinger and jeremy in laredo.

Well, the first time we saw cricket tacos

was back when I was in my first trimester,

and I was pretty nauseous --

well, before and after that.

Escargot.

Jessa: Snails.

Oh, my goodness.

Ben and jessa ate escargot on their honeymoon in paris.

I tried it, and it was actually very good.

But I didn't have the same confidence

about this escargot.

It wasn't in a romantic french restaurant in paris.

It was sitting on a paper plate

next to other random food items.

Jim bob: Okay, close your eyes.

I did it fast.

the music started, and I thought I'd make it around real fast.

But I didn't make it very far at all,

and all of a sudden, I was stuck with the cricket tacos.

but the more I thought about it, the worse it got.

And the texture was unmistakably snail.

each team member must find an article of clothing

or an item that is the same color as your team color.

Each team member must wear or carry his or her item

and have it when crossing the finish line.

It was really getting cold out there,

We feel like coming in last place is a bit of a blow,

but we kind of earned it.

we both came in last.

After blue team decided to give up trying to find their clue,

I went back to the field

to try to help red team find theirs.

We were thankful that we were able to find our clue

so we were able to finish the race,

and even though we're third place, hey,

at least we're not last.

jana: Overall, it was fun

trying to rush to and from the different places,
