That's enough!

Your Highnesses.

There are too many doubtful points.

If we let them

continue to pass the buck

there'll not be any outcome.

I have another way

to prove who's the real culprit.

There'll be traces left on their hands

for anyone who has touched the dried upas.

Just check and we'll know.

Physician.

Your Highness.

Your Highness.

The two bowls are filled with honey water.

The water will turn slightly darker

when it counteracts with the dried upas.

Examine it.

It's the traces left by the dried upas?

[The Song of Glory]

[Episode 21]

Don't worry.

It'll be all right.

I don't know why

there's dried upas on my hands.

Last night,

I saw her...

What did you see?

I...

It was you!

It was all you!

I didn't do anything.

I...

I didn't do anything.

I didn't do anything.

Your Highness.

Shen Leqing wanted to hurt Lady Shen!

She framed me!

Your Highness, you have to believe me!

It wasn't me!

Your Highness.

I didn't do it!

Your Highness.

You've served me for many years.

How could you do such nasty things?

It wasn't me.

I'm so disappointed in you.

It wasn't me!

People!

Your Highness!

Drag her out.

Execute her!

Your Highness, I didn't do it!

I really didn't do it, Your Highness!

Your Highness, you have to believe me!

It wasn't me! No!

Your Highness!

Sorry to make you worry.

It all started from Jiao Hua Pavilion.

I'm partly responsible for it.

Rise.

This isn't your fault.

Thank you, Royal Mother.

Shen Leqing.

It's equally a crime to conceal your identity.

You're sentenced to penal servitude.

Ling Xi.

You're sentenced to 30 strokes and will be expelled.

Put it properly.

Take this to the Master's room

and this to Master Shen's room.

Yes.

Mother!

Mother, what's the matter?

Nothing.

I don't know what's wrong.

I just...

I just couldn't help but have terrible butterflies.

I think you must be excited

knowing that sister

will be back today.

Mother, come on.

You don't have

to prepare so many things.

No matter how much you prepare,

it's not as important as sister

seeing a healthy

and pretty mother.

No manners.

How so?

My mother is the prettiest woman

in the entire Jian Kang City.

Otherwise,

how would she have

such a good looking son?

All right now, Mother.

Let's go back and rest.

All of you are dismissed.

Yes.

Hong Dan. Xiao Xin.

Wait outside.

Yes.

What's the matter?

Are you here to laugh at my predicament?

This is for the innocent lives you killed.

This is for your parents

who still hold out hope for you!

If it wasn't

for our parents

I would have killed you over and over again!

Shen Lige.

Who are you to lecture me?

Who am I?

It's all because you committed such heinous crime

to harm people!

Shen Leqing.

What kind of a person are you?

What is your heart made of?

Why would you bear

a deep grudge against me

that you had to keep trying

to get me killed?

When you did those things,

have you thought about our parents?

They loved you so much

and kept forgiving you.

But you?

Don't you feel guilty

to do such things?

You don't deserve

their love for you.

Look at you now.

If our mother sees you

how heartbreaking will she be?

She's not my mother!

I don't have such a mother!

You're beyond redemption.

Persisting in evil brings about self-destruction.

Look!

That's Lady Shen.

She looks so pretty.

That's right.

After the wedding,

she'll be the secondary consort.

Is it?

The day after tomorrow?

I wonder

what will become of here the day after tomorrow?

Lige.

Brother.

Why are you here?

I came to see King Peng Cheng.

How are you lately?

It's all good.

Is there something troubling you?

I went to see Shen Leqing just now.

Qing?

Why would she be here?

Not only she's here in the mansion,

she even tried to poison me.

After I exposed her for her trick,

she's been sentenced to penal servitude.

Why would she be here?

It's written on her document

that she came in on Chief Secretariat's recommendation.

Someone must have helped her

to establish such connections.

The Chief Secretariat

is now in cahoots with Lu Yuan.

Lu Yuan made use of her

in the foundry incident.

Our parents couldn't bear to punish her.

That's why they arranged a marriage for her in Tongcheng.

But who would expect

that she's unrepentant?

Qing

is beyond redemption.

Lige.

From now on,

you have to be extra careful.

But...

But what?

You'll be back home soon.

Let's not tell our parents

about Qing for the time being.

I don't want mother to worry.

Brother.

Forgive me. I can't do that.

Shen Leqing is a dangerous person.

But don't worry.

I know where to draw the line.

All right.

I'll go and see King Peng Cheng then.

Your Highness.

The High General is here.

How is it?

Your Highness.

The thug at the Confucianism Temple

in Danyang has been killed.

Lu Yuan has sent an army

to the Confucianism Temple in various places.

He's been tasked to keep the Confucianism Temple safe.

Should anything go wrong,

he's to be blamed.

That was a brilliant move.

They'll not sit back and do nothing.

The calmer things are,

the more we have to to act cautiously.

I'll continue to keep an eye

on them.

Forgive me, Your Highness.

Your Highness.

Besides Shen Lige,

I have another sister.

Because of jealousy,

she nurses a grievance and secretly sneaked into the mansion

and has made a big mistake.

Please punish me for that.

Rise.

I have heard.

Since Princess Consort Xie has given her the punishment,

there's no reason to brood over it.

Thank you, Your Highness.

As your brother,

let me ask you something.

You're always busy with government affairs.

Have you ever have time

to worry about your own marriage?

I have heard.

A few days ago,

your father went to the Wang family to propose.

When will I get the chance

to attend your wedding?

Ms. Wang is noble blood.

I'm a slow-witted man.

I'm afraid it's hard to be up to Master Wang's expectations.

Take a seat.

Master Wang's wish is important.

But what matters most

is how both of you feel.

You always keep a straight face

and being unromantic.

You're going to scare away all the good ladies

let alone

winning Master Wang's approval.

Your Highness is right.

So

fight for it if you like her.

Otherwise, you'll regret it.

Zijin.

Zijin?

Zijin?

Zijin.

I miss you so much.

Me too.

[My dear Zijin.]

[Long have I yearned for you.]

"My dear Zijin."

"Long have I yearned for you."

What do you think?

Is my writing

better than before?

Especially the word "Zijin".

I've been practising every day.

Why are you so hard working now?

If we like someone,

we should do our best to fight for her.

Zijin.

I'll work hard to improve myself

so that your father will accept me.

No matter what,

I'll never give up.

I'll marry you for sure.

No matter the place and time,

I'll always be thinking of you.

To me

being able to hold your hands

is the happiest thing in my life.

In death or life. Together or apart.

With you I made an agreement.

To go hand in hand

and grow old together.

Wan'er?

-You're here. -You're here.

It's been a long time since we met.

How have you been?

I'm doing great.

It's great to see you.

Right.

About the other time.

Something came up.

I had no choice.

I hope you won't mind.

Don't worry. I understand.

Now that I get to see you

I can help feeling like you seem a little upset.

Did something happen?

It's nothing.

But I have been listening to the teaching.

"Let the dead rest in peace and the living to have the wisdom to distinguish right from wrong.

I once thought

I can stay indifferent.

But after we parted ways,

I realized it was so tough.

Ms. Wan'er.

Don't worry.

I'm happy to be able

to spend time with you.

I'll surely open my heart

and be open with you

in hopes that my love

will have a place in your heart.

That's great.

I've learned

the song that I gave me.

Why don't I play it for you?

I'll play with you.

All right now.

Get to bed.

No way.

I can't sleep since Your Highness is still up.

If this gets out,

it will ruin my reputation.

Your Highness, the High General asked for an audience.

Brother?

Your Highness.

[Han Ling Pavilion]

I failed both times.

There's no more chance.

Do I really have to wait

until the wedding day?

Lady Shen!

Lady Shen!

What brings you here?

Lady Shen.

What's the matter?

Why the flushed red face?

No.

It's late now.

Why aren't you in bed?

My young lady is getting married!

I'm excited!

Besides

you aren't in bed too.

Lady Shen.

What's on your mind?

Does the thought of getting married

make you feel nervous?

Or are you wondering

what kind of person

King Peng Cheng is?

Knock it off. I'm not thinking about him.

Don't be shy.

King Jing Ling said

that King Peng Cheng is a nice person.

After all, he's the Supervisor of Politics.

That's the man

who's second highest in command.

Right, previously,

he was sick.

Knock it off.

You're being so talkative today.

I'm tired.

I'm going to bed.

Lady Shen.

You should rest earlier.

Let's talk tomorrow.

Father.

Mother.

Don't worry.

No matter what happens,

I'll make sure our family will not be implicated in it.

Central Protector.

Yu Yan has been executed.

Shen Leqing has been sentenced to penal servitude.

That's a serious matter

and she actually managed to get away scot-free?

I've underestimated her.

Keep her for now. She's still useful to us.

Send a message to Ren Shou Pavilion.

You should know what to say.

Understood.

How's the situation at Han Ling Pavilion?

They're busy with tomorrow's ceremony.

Say no more.

Ms. Wan'er is back!

Long time no see.

What are you busy with?

It's King Peng Cheng's wedding tomorrow.

These few days,

I've been busy laying the defence in the city.

You seem to be in a good mood.

That's because I get to see you.

Do you have a crush on someone?

Brother, knock it off.

I just wanted to know

which lucky guy

is that.

Father.

Please bless brother with a smooth career

and that he'll find a loved one soon.

Also, he'll have children soon

so that he'll stop keeping an eye on me

and worry for nothing.

Look at you.

I'll go back to my room now.

Go on.

Shen Lige.

At tomorrow's wedding,

I believe

you'll bring me a surprise.

Your Highness.

I've brought Shen Leqing here.

Greetings, Your Highness.

It was you who slipped the poison.

I dare not.

I don't know anything!

Lift up your head.

So you're the one

that my nephew recommended into here.

Yes.

That's right.

During my free time

I like

to arrange the flowers.

If I find some branches an eyesore

I'll just cut it off.

Only those that I find pleasing to my eyes

get to stay.

I'm willing to help share the burden

and risk my life for Your Highness.

From now on,

you'll stay in Ren Shou Pavilion

and help me trim off these branches.

Yes.

I'll surely

not let those branches

be an eyesore to Your Highness.

But

let me remind you.

You are too smart for your own good.

Know where to draw the line

and your place.

Chun Fang.

Yes

Throw it away.

Yes.

Yes.

I understand.

Your Highness.

Rise.

The ceremony to marry a poor general's daughter

turns out to be so grand.

King Peng Cheng

seems to put in a lot of effort on the Shen family.

My Fourth Brother

doesn't attach importance

to the family status.

Besides, the Shen family

has rendered great service to our country

and with the imperial decree

from Emperor Gaozu.

this marriage

will surely be a much-told story.

Your Highness, I'm relieved

to know that you think this way.

I hope

they will be deep in love.

Your Highness.

King Jing Ling!

Come here!

Greetings, Your Highness.

Rise.

From a distance,

it was as bright as the rising sun.

From a close look,

it was as beautiful as the lotus in the waves.

You're surely are a beautiful woman.

Truly a peerless beauty.

Your Highness.

You're making fun of me.

I'm being sincere.

You're going to get married soon.

Have you get used to it?

All is well.

Don't worry, Your Highness.

I hope you and King Peng Cheng

will have a happy marriage.

With this marriage,

you and I are considered relatives.

If you need my help

in the future

just tell me.

Don't be a stranger.

Of course.

That's because

we're friends.

We're friends.

We need your help now.

Your Highness.

Tell Lady Shen

what kind of a person

King Peng Cheng is.

Is His Highness good looking?

Right.

I heard

he was previously sick.

Hurry and tell Lady Shen!

She's very concerned about it.

There was one time, she told me

to glean.

Xiao Xin!

Lady Shen, it's no big deal.

If you hear it from King Jing Ling,

you'll believe it, right?

As to the kind of man King Peng Cheng is,

she's going to find out soon on her own.

But don't worry.

He's a good guy.

Really?

[Fourth Brother, Swordswoman]

Swordswoman!

Where are you?

Why won't you see me?

Look!

Hurry! It's the lanterns!

Lanterns?

It's so pretty.

Yes, indeed.

It's written on it.

"The south wind knows how I feel."

"It blew my heart to Xizhou."

There's a word "sword" behind it.

What's that?

Let's check it out.

Sure.

There are plenty over there!

Look!

There are more.

[The south wind knows how I feel. It blew my heart to Xizhou.]

Could it be him?

♫ The back of your view that keeps lingering ♫

♫ It ignites the sorrow in my heart ♫

♫ As we brushed shoulders, I have fallen in love with you ♫

♫ Love you ♫

♫ The flowers were blooming ♫

♫ It gathers a lifetime of misery ♫

♫ Recall the memories when the flower blooms again ♫

♫ Our fate isn't us to decide ♫

♫ Our destiny is in your hands ♫

♫ I'm willing to stay by your side forever ♫

♫ Never leave your side ♫

♫ If it weren't for the chanting ♫

♫ Looking out in the midsummer ♫

♫ The heart is crying and obsessed ♫

♫ I fall in love with the wrong person but I'm so madly in love with you ♫

♫ What's wrong if I put up a tough front? ♫

To the love of my life.

Farewell.

My love for you will never fade

and never will I forget you.

Master.

This is the Thousand Thread Poison.

Master, why do you want to apply the poison on it?

Pass this blade to Lige.

Remember.

Don't tell her anything.

Master.

I'm afraid she couldn't do it.

Master!

What's the matter?

Have you forgotten

the Vermilion Bird Alliance's oath?

Where's the person you used to be?

Don't forget. You're an assassin!

An assassin shouldn't be emotionally involved!

Just because you witness

some affection

and love

doesn't mean it's real!

A man's heart is beyond comprehension.

This is our last chance.

Either we fail, or we die trying!

There's no way out!

When it's done

I'll set you free.

We're about to make a move.

Has everything

been prepared?

Everything is in place.

I think

these people

seem to have wavered.

I won't give them a chance

to waver.

The human heart can be a fickle thing.

To be safe

when it's all done

make sure

you leave no survivors behind.

[Shen Residence]

Greetings, Father.

Greetings, Mother.

You're back.

Sister, don't scare me.

I'm terrified.

You prefer if I treat you this way.

Right?

I...

Don't run!

You...

Don't run!

Hey, what are you doing?

Little brat, stop right there!

You were so ladylike just now!

Where do you think you're going?

Don't move!

Your days of learning proved futile!

Brother, stop him! Don't run!

Don't run!

Mother.

Don't worry.

It's all in the past bow.

I'm doing great, aren't I?

Here.

It's all my fault.

I thought

letting Qing marry to a faraway place is a good thing.

But never did I know

it put more people in harm's way.

Mother.

She has gotten the punishment that she deserves.

Let's drop the topic.

It's my big day soon.

That's right.

Enough said about that.

Let's drop the topic.

Right now,

all I want to see

is you living a good life with King Peng Cheng

and grow old together.

Give birth to a baby prince soon.

How about that?

Don't say I'm a nag.

You're a straightforward person.

But the mansion

is a complicated place.

It's a long journey ahead of you.

I hope even when you're alone

you'll protect yourself.

Talk less, do more.

I'll visit you whenever I have the chance.

I know.

Mother.

All right now.

Don't cry anymore.

My good daughter.

There's an old saying.

When a daughter gets married,

her mother will help to comb her hair.

The tighter it is,

the more harmonious your relationship gets.

I hope after you're married into the family

you'll have a harmonious and happy marriage

with King Peng Cheng.

As long as you're happy,

I'll be happy too.

♫ A slim chance is found somewhere ♫

♫ Wait for you in my dream ♫

♫ What a cool night with a dazzling moon ♫

♫ Love you with all my heart, never leave you ♫

♫ Tears roll down like endless rain for life ♫

♫ Drench the snowflakes and you ♫

♫ Shed tears of my life to meet you one more time ♫

Before I know it

it's been so many years

ever since I gotten married to His Highness.

♫ Caress the sword and scabbard as well as you ♫

♫ Just leave when it's no longer a matter of life and death ♫

♫ Be blessed and fragmented memories will be pieced ♫

♫ Tears roll down like endless rain for life ♫

♫ Drench the snowflakes and you ♫

♫ Shed tears of my life to meet you one more time ♫

♫ Let's wander again when the sky is clear ♫

♫ Bury our thoughts in the song right now ♫

♫ Caress the sword and scabbard as well as you ♫

♫ Just leave when it's no longer a matter of life and death ♫

♫ Be blessed and fragmented memories ♫

♫ Will be pieced ♫
