I was diagnosed with ALS.

My total world was shocked.

It's a neurological disease
that affects your muscles.

The normal life span of someone with ALS

is two to six years.

John, he's had it for eight years.

She's had to live them, so...

it's hard putting her through that.

Wow.

What a terrifying thing though, to be told
you've only got two years. It's amazing.

Jennifer jumped into the workforce,
and at the same time,

she continued to run the house,

be the number one support system
for her daughters
