Oops! The King is in Love

Episode 13

Rest assured.

You will always be my best friend.

I'm into you.

I hope some day

you would say the same thing

to me.

Master.

I still don't understand.

Why such a handsome man like me,

who is a noble

of no ordinary talent,

quick-witted

and perfect,

was even refused by a woman!

A woman's mind is like a needle in the sand.

Sometimes

they don't care about these things.

Well, what do they care?

The feeling.

What is it?

It's like liquor,

which is made of top-class grains

with no impurities

through 19 processes.

Only after a long period of fermentation,

could its bouquet diffuse all around

and its taste be sweet.

But master,

I don't drink.

There is a rumor spreading in the Palace these days.

Rumor?

What rumor?

It's...

They said...

I...

...like you.

What they said is true!

You are so good

and so capable,

but there is only one thing that I can't accept,

you are the Emperor.

About the plague,

it indeed has something to do with that alchemist.

After that day you refused him,

Gong Ye didn't expel him from the capital city

but

kept him in his mansion

and treated him cordially.

Just as I thought,

Gui Yuanliang

was from Mosa.

No one knows

why he hates Yelu Ming so much.

Then the two of them hit it off

and caused the plague case.

Master.

How is the frontier?

Not so good.

In Yelu Ming's army,

numerous soldiers have been poisoned.

Yelu Ming also

visited a lot of famous doctors in every place of Mosa.

But it's a pity that

he hasn't' made any progress.

You don't want to visit Gong Ye's mansion

to arrest Gui Yuanliang, do you?

Master.

Do you think I am a foolhardy man?

Anyway,

whoever started the trouble should end it.

Gui Yuanliang,

I will get him for sure.

Master.

I think

we should take a dangerous move.

Do you know that?

Where is the place in the capital city

gathering most of the beauties?

The imperial palace.

Alas. Forget it.

Why do you ask me this question?

Except the imperial palace, where is it?

Well, it must be the Emerald Bordello, ranked No. 1 in the imperial city.

The Mid-autumn Day is coming soon,

I haven't shown

any filial respect for you before.

How about that?

I will take you there this time.

My treat.

You haven't grown up yet.

What are you thinking about?!

I'm not that kind of people in your eyes.

When will we go there?

Lin Yanqing. Good boy!

You look frail,

but I never imagined that you could bear such cruel torture.

I want to see when you will...

It's my fault! It's my fault!

Get lost!

I will deal with you later.

As you wish.

He still looks so handsome although his body is covered with cuts and bruises.

Zhixia.

Zhixia.

Why are you here?

I'm here to have a look at you.

Your Highness.

It's you!

Then who do you think it is?

Your Highness.

It's improper for us to touch each other's hands.

You didn't feel embarrassed just now when you touched my hand.

I show my respects to Your Highness.

Don't be such a stranger.

Your Highness.

This is a dirty place.

You should go back.

Lin Yanqing.

Her Highness has been grounded, but she still sneaked out for you.

Why don't you treat her like this?

So sweet.

I like it!

Thanks for worrying about me.

I just want to keep your company for a while.

Your Highness.

What are you doing?

I'm here this time because I want to tell you

that I have a plan for you to get out of the trouble.

No.

No no no.

I can't get married with you

just for getting out of the trouble.

Lin Yanqing. You should appreciate Her Highness's kindness.

Her Highness has gone on a hunger strike for you.

Her Highness...

You are so lofty.

I like it.

But I have discussed about it

with His Majesty and Eunuch Sanbao.

And this is a decision of His Majesty.

I also think

this is the best way to save you.

Sanbao.

Humph.

I am a man,

fearing nothing on the earth.

If I have to get out of the trouble in this way,

I will feel anxious for my whole life

and I will be ridiculed by the world people.

Thanks for His Majesty and Your Highness's kindness.

Please go back.

Hazy are the mountains,

and bleak the wilderness.

Wind blows...

Before God grants you a great mission,

he will temper your willpower and

toil your flesh and bones.

Yanqing, I will save you.

Just wait for me.

You...

Humph.

Could it be that

His Majesty still has me in his mind?

These days,

my lady has felt depressed

and gloomy.

Today she came back from the palace,

and knew that His Majesty still has feelings for her.

It turns out she doesn't need to worry about it.

She always places her happiness and sorrows

on the others.

She shouldn't do that.

You know nothing.

This is the passion of love.

His Majesty

will be moved by her heart someday.

Even Her Highness

has got involved in Lin Yanqing's case.

I've thought it over time and time again,

I guess it must be Yan Jin who made tricks in it.

He even took such a risk

and figured out such an idea,

I shouldn't have looked down upon him.

General.

Now His Majesty is fledgling,

so I think it's a perfect time for use to take actions.

No.

Main force of the Gong's army is guarding at the frontier,

while the troops in the capital city are under Her Majesty's control.

Ministers from the previous dynasty

all support His Majesty.

Over the years,

I've been mediating in such a satiation,

which is not an easy thing.

If I haven't 100% confidence,

I can't make a move.

Or all my efforts will be ruined.

Even if I could make it,

I would be scolded as a traitor through the ages.

Yeah, it makes sense.

But if we just wait like this,

I'm afraid we would get troubles.

I know what you mean.

General.

I want to remind you that

the State of Mosa has been out of order,

why not just take the chance and

get control of all military power

in the world?

Gui Yuanliang.

You are really the music to my ears.

These crafty people...

Auntie.

Getting angry is harmful to your health.

How about having a cup of tea with lotus seeds and lily?

Yue.

You are so sweet, not like Anle.

Come.

Have a seat.

Auntie.

I've heard recently that

Princess Anle has been grounded in her palace

and she even starves herself.

I want to pay a visit to her and

ask for your permission.

Starve herself?

I don't believe it.

I ordered to ground her for three months

but she even went to the prison to see Lin Yanqing.

I'm her natural mother.

I know her well.

She

is so spoiled.

Yeah.

Lin Yanqing has committed a horrible crime

and he doesn't deserve Her Highness.

We shouldn't just let her go.

Yeah.

Auntie.

Yue.

I have something to discuss with you

and I want to know your opinion.

I've watched you grow up.

You are smart,

pretty and lovely,

educated and reasonable, and also obedient to me.

I think His Majesty

needs such an Empress like you.

Auntie.

His Majesty and I have known each other since our childhood,

I will feel appreciated

if I could marry His Majesty.

But I am not qualified

to be the Empress.

I don't dare to think about it.

Yue.

I'm not young now.

You are from my blood,

do you think I am kind to you?

Of course.

You are very kind to me.

His Majesty and you have grown up together,

if you could make this relationship closer,

I will feel gratified.

I want to make the decision for you.

Auntie.

I am frightened.

I will never forget

your great kindness to me.

If I could marry His Majesty,

I will be the apple of your eye.

Good.

Yue.

Hearing this,

I feel so relieved.

But

even if I want to marry His Majesty,

His Majesty...

I am the Empress Dowager of the State of Dongsheng,

His Majesty is my son.

He doesn't dare to go against my will.

You

should strive for what you really want.

You shouldn't just wait.

I have a lot of suggestions

for you.

Thank you, auntie.

I pay my respects to His Majesty.

Rise.

Yanqing.

You have suffered a lot these days.

I can withstand it.

I wonder why Your Majesty are here now

and what else you want to say.

I have been trying to

save you.

Your Majesty.

The State of Dongsheng now is in internal and external troubles,

if you want to turn the tide,

you should save my grandfather,

it's useless to save me.

I'm so incapable

that I make you worried.

I think His Majesty

doesn't need to make these efforts for me.

Yanqing.

Don't say these angry words.

Today I come here

because I want to have a good talk with you

as friends.

Or maybe

we could talk in men's way.

They behave so weird.

What the hell are they doing?

Where are you going?

It's Her Majesty's divine grace.

Today is the Mid-autumn Day.

The eunuchs and maids are going to salute to the sun.

I know Your Majesty and Sanbao are eager to help me out.

But I am a man,

fearing nothing on the earth.

I will never marry Her Highness Anle

for saving my life.

Are you talking about the engagement between you and her?

The engagement was our parents' decision.

I have been thrown in jail now,

but I won't disobey parents' order.

Your Majesty,

you also don't want me to be an ungrateful man,

do you?

About the engagement, parents' decision,

fearing nothing on the earth,

these are what you are thinking about,

have you ever asked about Sanbao's opinions?

Have you ever

truly thought about her feelings?

Then what about you?

About her identity,

or her safety,

have you ever thought about it?

Indeed,

I'm afraid she was caught by Her Majesty at the very beginning

and that she would disclose my plan

like Eunuch Wang did.

But now it's been a long time,

I finally know

what it means to me

with her company.

Maybe in your eyes,

she is a crazy girl,

always shooting her mouth off and making troubles.

You want to take her away

from the capital city,

you think you could protect her in this way,

But have you ever thought about that?

Her home is in the capital city.

Her mother is here.

Do you think she is willing to leave?

I am different from you.

Just ignore my identity.

When she cries,

gets mad,

smiles,

or gets crazy,

I could keep her company,

I don't want

to leave her all the time.

But what about the engagement?

Do you want Zhixia to be scolded

because of breaking the promise or

do you want to use your power and force use to break off the engagement?

Yanqing.

Whether the engagement for Zhixia

is a good choice or a pair of shackles,

I think you are clearer than her.

If you both love each other

and she is willing to marry you,

then I will send my sincere blessing to you.

If she isn't willing to marry you

and you force her to do so,

then I will stop you.

Yanqing.

You are a talent I need,

and also a loyal man that

the State of Dongsheng needs.

I will never force you

to give up your decision.

But,

you should believe me.

I will save you out.

Congratulations, Your Majesty.

Now it's the good time for the State of Dongsheng to rule all the land

since the plague is spreading in the State of Mosa now.

General, you have made such a great achievement,

what rewards do you want?

Your Majesty, don't make fun of me.

I don't dare to ask for rewards.

If I could serve you

by your side,

I would be satisfied.

We are family.

You don't need to be so distant.

Puh!

He is more skilled at flattering than me.

Your Majesty, do you still worry about Her Highness Anle?

Just leave her alone.

When she feels boring, she would stop it.

I don't want to mind her business.

Those ministers have gone too far.

They even colluded with the local officers

and submitted a joint report.

The Emperor's marriage has nothing to do with them.

Look at this!

Every character in it

chews on the subject

and they scold me that I desire for power

and I am overweening ambitious.

Since I haven't dealt with all these things,

I feel so tired in heart.

Tired?

Then you should resign.

Why talking so much nonsense?

Because of the imperial examination

and the case about Lin Yanqing,

I couldn't control His Majesty.

He is not your natural son.

Whether he is filial

or treacherous,

no one knows.

How dare you!

Why do you mention His Majesty's origin?

General Gong.

I want to mention you that

now the State of Mosa is an insect with 100 feet,

which will not become stiff even it dies.

Don't make any troubles.

I won't.

On your feet.

Next

we should depend on Zhiyue.

If only she becomes the Empress

and gives birth to the prince,

at that time,

I will support the prince to take the throne

and I will hold the court as the Grand Empress Dowager.

Then I think all the civilian and military officers at court will not object me.

And you

also could enjoy the glory.

Your Majesty, if you have already made plans,

I want to give you another idea

and help you make it.

I suggest you to gather 300,000 soldiers

to suppress Mosa.

When Zhiyue lives in the palace,

her life will be under my control,

and then you don't dare to betray me.

I will grant you

10,000 soldiers and horses guarding military barns.

Don't go too far.

You are so kind. Her Majesty.

Where is His Majesty?

Where is His Majesty going?

It's said that one day apart seems like three years.

Big brother has

so deep affections for His Majesty, doesn't he?

Take it easy.

Take it easy.

Your Majesty,

where are you?!

The Mid-autumn Day is a festival for family reunion.

Look at us!

What a bad life we are leading!

Yeah.

I've been away from home for three years.

I heard that your child is one year old, is that true?

It's true.

My child is one-year old next month.

Come on! Cheers!

Grandfather.

Your unfilial grandson, Lin Yanqing

is kowtowing to you.

General Zhiyue, we pay our respects to you.

Today is the Mid-autumn Day,

so we are longing for our home.

Please forgive us!

Lock Lin Ke and Lin Yanqing in one cell

and separate them tomorrow.

As you wish.

Yanqing.

Grandfather.

Yanqing.

Grandfather.

I'm sorry!

Get up!

Sit!

You've suffered a lot.

Grandfather.

It doesn't matter.

I always keep the Lin's family rules in mind.

I didn't lose your face.

Good. Good.

Kid.

Why do they lock you here?

Grandfather.

Have a seat first.

Today

is the Mid-autumn Day.

Gong Zhiyue asked them

to lock us together.

Maybe she thinks

it's the last Mid-autumn Day

we could spend together.

Grandfather.

You have suffered a lot

in the prison these days.

I'm old now and I have one foot in the grave.

You shouldn't worry about me,

but the State of Dongsheng.

Gong Ye now has the power in his grip.

Nobody in the world could contend with him.

He could do as he pleases.

If things go on like this,

it's His Majesty

who is going to suffer,

and people of the State of Dongsheng as well.

Anle.

Sister Zhiyue.

Are you here to see Lin Yanqing?

This is a ghastly place,

you shouldn't have come here.

Sister Zhiyue.

You are the prince.

Please respect your identity.

Please! My good sister-in-law.

Just one time.

Let me in, okay?

What did you call me?

Sister-in-law!

Am I wrong?

Never again!

I knew you are kind to me!

Kid.

In the future,

you promise

not to do anything

disobeying your conscience or

disobeying the Lin's family rules.

Lin Yanqing.

Go, go, go.

I pay my respects to Your Highness.

Get up!

I bring some Five Nuts Moon Cakes from the imperial kitchen for you.

Come and have a taste.

Come.

Have a seat. Sit.

Please have a seat.

Have a taste.

Rumor in the palace has it that

the princess is unruly and self-willed.

Ah?

Who told you this nonsense?

So annoying!

Tonight I know that

Your Highness is amiable and easy of approach.

It turns out that we can't believe those rumors.

We can't believe it.

Yeah.

Your Highness.

It's damp and dark here,

you'd better go back.

You don't need to be so polite.

I have asked His Majesty and Her Majesty

to grant the marriage for us.

From now on we are family.

Your grandfather is my grandfather.

Do you think so, grandfather?

Your Highness.

Please don't say so.

I, a criminal, don't dare to tarnish your good fame.

Who dares to say so?!

I...

I will deal with him.

Your Highness.

Thanks for your kindness to the Lin family.

Come.

Give me some water.

Ah?

What are you waiting for?

Water!

Oh.

Are you okay?

Grandfather.

Grandson.

Sit. Sit.

Grandson.

When your parents were alive,

they hoped you could serve the country

and become a useful talent for the country.

Your name Yanqing means

omen of peace.

But now,

because of me,

you have been even locked in the prison.

I'm so sorry for your deceased parents.

Grandfather.

It's been years.

You don't need to mention it.

I'm incapable and sorry to have you worry about me.

Grandson.

If

you couldn't get married and settle down or the Lin family

has no descendants

because of me,

I would

feel very sorry for our ancestors.

Grandfather is right.

If the Lin family has no descendants,

can you bear the responsibility?

Your Highness.

Oh.

Grandfather, have a taste.

It's still warm.

I know what happened in the prison.

You can leave now

and keep watching.

As you wish.

General.

We should keep an eye on

His Majesty, Lin Ke and Lin Yanqing,

If the three of them have connections,

I'm afraid they would cause big troubles.

Zhiyue is soft-hearted.

She can never make, but always break.

It's good that Lady Zhiyue is kind-hearted.

Kind-hearted?

Her Majesty is now planning to

get Zhiyue married into the palace.

If she wants to survive in the palace,

be favored by His Majesty

and have the last laugh,

she could do everything

but can't be kind-hearted.

Her Majesty is so straightforward,

I guess she must want to control your daughter and threaten you.

You shouldn't nod your head.

You are right.

10,000 soldiers and horses guarding military barns?

She is humiliating me!

Then what should we do next?

Your Majesty, where have you been?

What happened? What's the rush?

I have something to tell you.

I also have something to tell you.

I want to go outside the palace and watch the Kongming Lanterns.

Go with me.

Kongming Lanterns?

Okay.

Fine.

If he goes out and feels happy,

I could tell him the truth.

All right.

I have the same idea with you.

What are you looking at?

It's weird.

Weird?

Weird but cute.

I'm telling you.

You shouldn't take yourself as the emperor,

because that would expose your identity.

I, the Emperor, understand.

I, understand.

After we go outside,

you should listen to me.

I will.

Don't run about.

Okay.

Don't talk with strangers.

I'm not a kid.

I will listen to you.

Zhixia.

Do you think a man like me

who is so handsome,

casual and elegant bearing

would be surrounded by girls

outside the palace?

Your Majesty.

Oh no.

Young master.

What you are worried about

will never happen.

Let' hurry and go outside.

We want to go with you.

We haven't gone outside the palace for a long time.

There are so many fine foods.

Yummy.

I'm almost moved to tears.

It's lively, isn't it?

Have a taste of this.

Julong Xuan.

The roast duck here is very unique.

It's crowded every day.

You need to line up for a longer time.

When I was little...

Zhang Yang.

Your...

Where is Yong Master Huang?

Where is Yong Master Huang?

Stop eating.

Stop it, you two!

Where is young master?

What are you doing? Go!

Big brother.

General.

His Majesty left the palace secretly.

Iron Face.

Go.

Find them out.

I want to know

what His Majesty is doing out there.

As you wish.

Brat!

Who allowed you to sell things here?

This is my place.

Get lost!

Drive him away!

Don't touch my lanterns.

There are even people disregarding all laws and regulations in the imperial city.

Yeah. Yeah.

Who is it? It's none of your business.

Pull your punches.

No matter where we are from,

we are heroes in the world.

One of us.

No matter on the earth or in the heaven,

there are always our buddies around.

I'm from the south city.

And this is my younger brother.

I hope you could forgive him

and take care of us.

It turns out that you are one of us.

Fine.

I will take care of this kid.

Thank you.

Thank you.

Buddies, let's go.

Take care!

You often like championing the cause of justice, don't you?

Why do you...

You know nothing.

We don't have to get involved in the trouble.

Do you think it's easy to live in the world?

If we fought with them today,

in the future,

the boy couldn't do business here.

It makes sense.

You are a man.

Why are you crying?

Sell all these destroyed lanterns to me,

will you?

Here you are.

Brother, this is for you.

If you were a girl,

I would marry you when I grow up.

Really?

You can't.

Boy, listen to me.

When you grow up,

I will find a good girl for you.

You want to take my woman away from me!

No way!

He is just a kid.

You don't need to do this?

I can't accept it.

The moon and stars outside the palace is

truly brighter than those I see in the palace.

It's so fresh here.

It seems that all worries have gone.

Zhixia.

I think

if I were from an ordinary family,

that would be good.

Yeah.

But you didn't. You are from the noble family,

and you have to bear more pains and responsibilities.

If I were from an ordinary family,

I could enjoy the Mid-autumn Day with my family,

climb the mountain at Double Ninth Festival

and set off firecrackers at the Spring Festival.

What's the most important

is I could travel around the world with my beloved one.

Look at them.

It seems so romantic.

Their love is always romantic.

When have you become so open-minded?

Shhh.

Zhixia.

Why do you want to write characters on the lanterns?

You don't know that?

In folk, people always write their wishes on the lanterns,

and then the lanterns

will take them away,

flying far away to the sky.

So they would be seen by immortals in the heaven

and then the immortals would fulfill your wishes.

Zhixia, are you silly?

I am the Emperor.

You could just tell me what you want.

I don't want to explain it to you.

You ruin the atmosphere.

Okay. Fine.

I'm the Emperor.

And this is my lantern.

Immortals in the heaven must choose to read it first

and then they would help me fulfill them.
