I just graduated from law school, and I have an offer

with a law firm in downtown orlando,

contingent on whether I pass the floor bar.

I've been studying for two months,

so hopefully it pays off.

I lived in orlando my entire life

and then I moved to atlanta

where I went to law school, and now I'm really excited

to move back to florida and be in my hometown.

in satellite beach, about an hour away.

I am moving back home with a big girl job.

So I want to have my own place.

Lindsay: Right now, I'm living out of a box

and it's during my bar study,

so it's very frustrating to not have my stuff around.

I don't have anywhere good to study.

I don't have an office space. I need a desk.

You do need a desk.

I need to be close to downtown.

That's where I'm planning to work.

You could go out to the east side

and get the same quality house a lot cheaper.

I think I can afford maybe around $350,000.

That might be a little high.

I am willing to go up to $300,000,

but I'm not exceeding that. That's it. That is my top.

I don't want to put that kind of mortgage on her.

I'm not going to put that kind of down payment down.

So that is a hard no.

It's my house. No, I'm going to be paying

the mortgage, so if we need to come up,

I think that's something I can handle.

I would definitely want, you know.

I want something original and unique.

I really like mid-century modern,

I really like the '70s influences.

I want to be able to make it my own.

So like with an older home, I feel like it's easier

So it carries a little bit of a price tag.

And conway is the area that I'd really like to be in.

It's close to work. I think we'll have

to definitely really look at that,

because with the work that needs to be done with the pool

and the other things and that gets it up pretty high.

You're paying the down payment,

but I'm going to be paying the mortgage.

So I think that's something that I could afford monthly.

Like I've done the math.

Even at $350,000, though,

I do have to do that down payment.

I mean, if you think that you can handle

the mortgage payment for it, then we can entertain it.

But I want to definitely see some more.

to get something less expensive as her first home.

Even though it's on that busy street,

the noise is very minimal.

Yeah. New windows, the block construction

actually kind of helps that. I like the original hardwood floors.

It's a unique layout.

So definitely quirky, which I like.

This looks like maybe it was the garage at one time?

This was most likely it was a patio.

Yeah, absolutely. It was a patio that they enclosed in.

Not fond of the block, but...

I don't mind the block. But I think

that that can be like, you know,

like a feature of this is like a downtown home.

I think the living room is maybe a little small for,

like, my main entertaining area.

Again, downtown, you're not getting a ton of space

usually in each room, but you make the best of it

and then you get a nice little corner kitchen.

I do kind of like the kitchen. Kind of european-y.

I don't really like the light wood. I like the stone.

Well, this house has kind of an amazing backyard situation,

like that would be the vintage thing that could stay.

But these vintage tiles, not my favorite color combo.

This could easily be painted all white

and it will modern it up. It's tiny.

It's a tiny, little bathroom.

We'd definitely have paint all these tiles

and the floor tiles too, because those are really green.

And I hear the toilet running and running, bobby.

Yeah. It's definitely running.

That will be great for your water bill, linds. Yeah.

Alright. So here's the master suite area.

So it's got like a little sitting room up front.

Could definitely be a potential second office for you.

Yeah. Or just like make this the office

and maybe have that, like, a pull out guest type,

the other room. Very cool.

don't like the steps.

I don't mind it. I kind of like it.

Kind of gives it a little like, "hello."

This bathroom's a great size.

I don't know that I like love the layout,

but it has a lot of space and the shower's a really nice

walk-in shower.

For me, I think the outside is the draw.

It's beautiful.

The yard is beautiful.

I actually really do like it a lot.

I think that with this house

would be all about outdoor living

because the outdoor space is amazing.

I wouldn't change a single thing about it.

It's so close to my work. You can't go wrong with that.

Just change some things like the paint.

And I think it has really great potential.

The price point. Is that negotiable, bobby?

Because it's a little high.

It's been on the market for about a month and a half.

So could be some wiggle room there, of course.

What's pretty cool here is I think this could be your office.

This is almost like a whole 'nother room for me.

So that's a big plus.

So dual sinks, which is nice.

But this is definitely a weird layout for a bathroom.

It really is. It's narrow.

I hate the toilet in the middle. Yeah.

The shower is updated. So that's really nice.

Showers are really difficult to deal with

if the tiles are cracked or if they're old. Ohh.

In this house, the shower is good. That's a good thing.

That is a good thing.

I think this is a pretty good contender based on the price.

Dana: I mean, for me, the price point is good,

but the projects are just too much.

I love the inside of the house. I think it looks really good.

Biggest negative is just the area.

I'm not really interested in being

in the east side of orlando. The price is great.

But that's probably because it's not on the side

of town that I want.

with a little help from her mom.

I loved that it was pink. I still think the conway area...

Of course you do. ...Is the best place for me.

That pool looked like it needed to be resurfaced.

If we wanted to pursue that,

I would really want bobby to negotiate for that.

Because there were some things that I felt you're going to

want to do sooner rather than later in that house.

Yeah. That downtown one

really it got me with that yard.

I loved the outside. And you loved the outside.

I did. I think being that close to downtown,

it would be a huge perk.

I don't really know about the affordability.

I mean, that's at the high end.

Once we start putting in closing costs

and everything, we're capped out.

Let's talk about maybe the lower end, the house on the eastside.

I really liked that house. I really liked the pool.

It's not in the area that I want to be in.

It's the farthest from my work. Price point is right.

I think they were asking... $289,900.

Okay. We have a lot to think about.

Really, we need to make a decision, I think.

And I'm super happy about that.

I think that it was the best option for the price.

And we love the house.

And really my mom wanted on the eastside,

and she always gets what she wants.

and we paid $282,500.

And it's still pretty close to downtown.

So it was the right choice.

I want to go outside and sit.

My favorite thing about this house,

like, besides the pool is the '70s yellow glass by the door.

So far, I've hung the curtains and some of the blinds.

I have plans to kind of like diy,

renovate my master bathroom, eventually.

I'm gonna paint the counter tops and the cabinets.

And I do want to change the indoor-outdoor rug

and the lanai area.

I haven't been here because since I passed the bar

and I'm an attorney now, I've been working a lot,

so I haven't met any of the neighbors,

but I've seen them and waved.
