Original subtitles

QUIGLEY: Hey, watch the ears!

Watch the ears, they're high tech,

very expensive, worth millions.

I can't hear my messages without these ears.

CALLISTA: It's time to go into the little room now,

Mr. Quigley.

TRAVIS: No one will touch your ears

in the little room, Mr. Quigley.

QUIGLEY: I don't want to go into the little room.

[Gate Clanking]

QUIGLEY: No, no, no, no.

This is not good, this is bad,

this is very, very bad.

The bars are interfering with my ear's receptions.

How will I get my messages?

TRAVIS: Tune them into one of your fillings.

QUIGLEY: That doesn't work, don't you know anything?

Shhhh.

CALLISTA: What now?

QUIGLEY: I hear them.

They say they're coming for me.

TRAVIS: Who's coming for you?

QUIGLEY: My fellow quantum mechanics

at the Quantum Federation.

CALLISTA: Yeah, well, tell them to meet you

at Neuro Correctional in Ganymede.

[Gasping]

CALLISTA: No wait, I'm getting a message too.

QUIGLEY: You are?

CALLISTA: It says shut up before I box your ears in.

QUIGLEY: I never got that message.

TRAVIS: Forget it. CALLISTA: Forget it.

[Ship Jolts] [Metal Clattering]

[Quigley Yelps]

CALLISTA: What's going on?

[Loud Bang]

TRAVIS: Percy, what's happening up there?

PERCY: An unidentified craft on an intercept course.

Didn't respond to my hail, so I fired a warning shot.

You know the rest.

TRAVIS: Okay then, fire counter measures.

And keep hailing them, we're on our way.

QUIGLEY: They're coming for me!

[Quigley Laughing]

CALLISTA: You don't think?

[Laughing]

[Rapid Gun Firing] [Spaceship Speeding By]

PERCY: Carr, target their reactor core.

CARAVAGGIO: Targeting.

TRAVIS: Whoa, whoa, belay that order, Carr.

CARAVAGGIO: Order belayed.

TRAVIS: We don't want to destroy them.

PERCY: They started it.

TRAVIS: Why would they do that?

CALLISTA: Look at the size of that ship,

it's barely a shuttle.

Something's not right.

PERCY: They're not responding to our hails.

TRAVIS: Well, maybe they can't answer.

Car, lock into their commaray and boost again.

CARAVAGGIO: Acknowledged.

Incoming transmission.

TRAVIS: Put it through.

CARAVAGGIO: Of course.

MAX: Tulip, we come in peace, stop firing, for Pete sake.

Our life support is out, com system failing.

Our missiles were firing randomly

until they drained themselves,

our crew is half dead, you get my drift?

PERCY: We get your drift, Max Fairley.

MAX: Percy Montana.

You haven't aged a minute my dear.

PERCY: If it's all the same to everyone,

I'm just gonna start shooting at him again.

MAX: Percy, wait!

I've changed, reformed, turned over a new leaf.

Besides, we have a ship-wide system failure.

PERCY: Car, arm torpedoes.

CARAVAGGIO: Torpedoes armed.

TRAVIS: Hold on Car, Percy who is this guy?

PERCY: He's an ass-- MAX: I'm...

An old friend with much to apologize for.

If I don't suffocate first.

Let me come aboard and prove my good intentions

and, I'll let you in on a little secret

that'll make us all rich!

[Opening Theme Music]

[Ship Engines Whirring]

PERCY: The guy is a snake.

RUDOLPHO: Definitely,

but we should be willing to entertain

the notion of unbridled wealth.

PERCY: Oh, like you did the time you tried to

sell him the Tulip to use as a floating prison?

TRAVIS: You never mentioned that.

PERCY: Totally screwing Dante and me in the process.

RUDOLPHO: I had serious cash flow problems,

he put the screws on me!

I think some sweet revenge is in order.

Find out what he's playing at, take it from him.

PERCY: Hey, hey, hey, stop.

I see where this is going and I'm getting really tired

of being outvoted on my own ship.

The guy is a worm.

TRAVIS: Thought he was a snake.

[Snickering]

PERCY: Whatever, fine.

TRAVIS: Feel better? PERCY: No.

TRAVIS: Look, I got it, the guy is a worm.

PERCY: He's a snake.

TRAVIS: Okay, some kind of slimy, crawly thing.

So we'll be careful.

PERCY: Don't say I didn't warn you.

TRAVIS: Now do you feel better?

PERCY: I hate them all.

[Mysterious Music]

MAX: Good lord, Rudolpho?

RUDOLPHO: Max, surprised to see me?

MAX: Surprised somewhat, but overjoyed Rudolpho.

Overjoyed.

And Percy, my dear girl.

PERCY: Uh-uh.

MAX: Oh, so many fences to mend.

TRAVIS: So, you've recovered nicely

from your near death experience.

MAX: And you must be the new captain.

TRAVIS: So we got the highlights of your last visit,

Mr. Fairley.

You're welcome here,

but consider yourself on notice.

MAX: Fair enough my boy, fair enough.

Captain, may I introduce my crew?

Mina Zums and Dr. David Dumont.

Mina is head of exploration for my mining company.

Supermax Exploraco.

MINA: It's a mouthful, I know.

RUDOLPHO: It certainly is.

MAX: Dumont is head of research and science.

Spelunking astroids and such.

And...

...What beauty is this?

CALLISTA: Callie Larkadia.

DAVID: Of the Mars Larkadias?

CALLISTA: Yes.

DAVID: Dr. David Dumont.

CALLISTA: Of the Mars Dumonts?

DAVID: Yes.

[Spaceship Humming]

TRAVIS [O.C]: We're on our way to Ganymede.

MAX: What splendid luck, so were we.

Dropping off a bounty head?

TRAVIS: That's right.

MAX: Barely pays the bills, I bet.

Oh, the plight of the working poor.

TRAVIS: Oh, we get by.

MAX: Don't you get depressed spending your life here?

Once the finest luxury liner in existence,

now reduced to a mockery of its former glory.

TRAVIS: No.

DAVID: What about you, Ms. Larkadia?

You had a taste of the good life, don't you miss it?

CALLISTA: Not really, what's it to you if I did?

MAX: Let them in on our little treasure,

if you would doctor.

CALLISTA: What is it?

DAVID: Onmium.

MAX: Value off the bloody scale.

One ounce of onmium is worth a thousand diamond mines.

TRAVIS: And why are you telling us?

MAX: You saved our lives, it's only fair

we share the wealth with you.

Please, rest assured,

I'm not the person Percy says I am.

I've changed.

PERCY: Turn it off, I'm sick of his voice already.

CARAVAGGIO: As you wish.

MAX: You must understand that captain.

TRAVIS: Of course.

PERCY: Can you believe that crap?

RUDOLPHO: Max Fairley reformed?

PERCY: He's got some slimy angle.

RUDOLPHO: Yeah, we need a better one,

turn it back on him.

Carravaggio,

where's that background I asked for?

CARAVAGGIO: Supermax Exploraco Industries, founded 2287.

Operations include mining, refining, excavations

and more recently they have expanded into philanthropy.

Funding various charities.

PERCY: Charities, are you sure?

CARAVAGGIO: I would not mislead you.

PERCY: Alright, any arrests?

CARAVAGGIO: None.

MARCUS: It sounds like he checks out, Percy.

Maybe he's onto something.

PERCY: What about this onmium stuff?

Anyone heard of it?

MARCUS: Carravaggio?

CARAVAGGIO: I have no information about onmium.

PERCY: Wow.

CARAVAGGIO: Which is not to say it does not exist.

After all, Mr. Fairly did say it was extremely rare.

I will search the planetary databases.

MARCUS: We should check it out at least.

PERCY: I'm going to go feed the prisoner.

I need to talk to a sane person.

[Scoffs] MARCUS: That prisoner's crazy.

PERCY: Yes.

MARCUS: What if she's right about Max?

RUDOLPHO: And what if Max is right about the onmium?

MAX: I believe your Ms. Larkadia was

quite taken with Dr. Dumont.

TRAVIS: Really?

Can we save the small talk?

I'm still trying to get my head around your generous offer.

MAX: What's not to understand?

25 percent of the onmium mine operation in your pockets.

Free and clear.

TRAVIS: For dropping you off?

MAX: And for saving our lives,

that's worth quite a lot in my opinion.

It's like I've said, I've reformed.

MINA: It was our destiny to be brought together, Mr. Montana.

And it's our destiny to get lucky.

Oh, that didn't sound right, did it?

TRAVIS: No.

Your quarters are just down the hall, if you'll follow me.

[Max Stammers] MAX: No, no need for that.

This'll do nicely for us both.

Lot of work to catch up on, you know?

MINA: Yes, Max is all business.

TRAVIS: I'm sure.

MAX: I have a terrific idea.

I recall a captain's table in a

wonderful dining room onboard.

Why don't we celebrate our good fortune

in the grand old style of the Tulip's glorious past

and have dinner there?

TRAVIS: What an excellent idea.

MAX: No need to put yourself out.

Simple food, humbly prepared will always suffice.

TRAVIS: No, no, no, maybe we can lay our hands on some wine.

In vino veritas, as they say.

[Max Chuckling]

TRAVIS: Dinner at eight then?

MAX: Marvelous. TRAVIS: Splendid.

QUIGLEY [O.C]: Can you hear me?

Hey, come in!

Come in, dammit!

Roger, voodoo, x-ray, delta, copy, over!

Salam, bonjour, [Door Opening]

konichiwa!

PERCY: Konichiwa!

QUIGLEY: Hello.

PERCY: Food.

QUIGLEY: Food.

I don't like food.

Makes me wheeze like a dog.

PERCY: I'm sorry,

but, by law I have to feed you.

Otherwise I wouldn't--

QUIGLEY: Dogs have really good hearing.

I wish I was a dog,

I could hear all the messages being sent to me.

Who's sending you to Neuro Correctional in Ganymede,

is that right?

QUIGLEY: Yes.

PERCY: Why?

QUIGLEY: Well, they say I'm crazy.

PERCY: They do, do they?

QUIGLEY: Oh yes.

Quite adamantly.

PERCY: Hmm.

[Groans]

RUDOLPHO: That miss mate,

oh her legs, pair of legs all the way up to--

MARCUS: Legs, did you see the--

PERCY: So Carravaggio tells me we're dining with Max?

TRAVIS: Yeah, why not indulge a little?

PERCY: In dinner or Mina?

TRAVIS [O.C]: I haven't made up my mind yet.

MARCUS: We're gonna get dressed up.

It'll be a laugh.

PERCY: I guess you live for rejection,

count me out.

TRAVIS: Oh, come on, how can you resist champagne and canned ham?

PERCY: No self respecting person would answer that question.

Guys, the trick to being a good con artist

is to convince people they're smarter than the con.

TRAVIS: And the trick to conning a con artist

is to not let on you know you're being conned.

So if we're gonna find out what he's got going on,

we play along.

[Footsteps Approaching] [Beeping]

DAVID: I'm curious.

What is a Larkadia doing on a bounty hunting ship?

CALLISTA: Not being a Larkadia.

DAVID: Gee, and I thought I was the only blue blood

to turn his back on his family.

I, uh, sorry if I--

CALLISTA: You do what you gotta do, right?

DAVID: Exactly.

Any regrets?

CALLISTA: About leaving the fold, hardly.

You?

DAVID: Most days, no.

CALLISTA: Most days?

So why'd you do it?

DAVID: I couldn't stand the life or them.

And if I hadn't escaped them,

I wouldn't have had the freedom to

sail around the solar system looking for onmium mines.

CALLISTA: So tell me more about this onmium.

DAVID: Exciting, I've only had a few days to study the sample.

But it seems that the onmium allotrope is actually

a septagonal carbon crystal.

CALLISTA: Meaning?

DAVID: Meaning it's incredibly beautiful,

even under a microscope.

CALLISTA: That's great, but what's it good for?

DAVID: You tell me.

It is 100 times more beautiful than even the most

celebrated diamond and a million times more rare.

CALLISTA: Mmm-hmm.

So it's about money.

DAVID: It's about beauty.

CALLISTA: Nice answer.

But it really is about the money, isn't it?

DAVID: You are a no nonsense woman, Ms. Larkadia.

CALLISTA: Thank you.

DAVID: Make no mistake, this could make us very rich

and on our own terms this time.

CALLISTA: So you really believe there's a

onmium mine on Ganymede?

DAVID: I'd stake my reputation on it.

CALLISTA: You must really want this then.

DAVID: In my line of work,

this is the kind of find that you dream of.

Something so ancient and beautiful

that no one has ever seen before.

You can hold it in your hand and say,

I saw this first.

There's just no feeling in the world like that.

[Beeping]

MINA: Max, how many times are you going to

read that damn diary?

MAX: Until I figure out where Nora McCallum

has stashed the necklace.

It's all here, but no "X" that marks the spot.

MINA: Well, it better be onboard,

like you said.

MAX: It is, Nora's a crafty lady,

but not as crafty as old Maxy, eh?

What about the dining room, Nora?

Is it in one of the chandeliers?

In plain sight, eh?

Keep your eyes open, my love.

MINA: Why the hell was she so vague?

MAX: If her mining magna cheating husband

found the dairy,

that would have ruined everything.

And it doesn't help that the Tulip

has changed so much over the years.

But she hid the necklace somewhere onboard,

of that I am sure.

MINA: Well, we better find it soon.

This Mina Zums routine is getting old fast.

Montana's no idiot and that little witch, Percy is onto us.

MAX: I never did trust her from the start.

MINA: Well, maybe an accident could happen to her.

MAX: We don't need an accident.

[Doorbell Ringing]

MAX: Come in.

MINA: What about the girl?

DAVID: The girl is liking the good doctor very much thank you.

MAX: Our research has paid off well.

DAVID: Yes, but they're starting to get suspicious.

I say we jump them before they figure it out.

MAX: And how are they going to do that?

We stick to the program, win them over bit by bit,

and you need to work on Travis.

MINA: It's gonna be hard, he keeps it all bottled up.

DAVID: Losing your touch Mina?

MINA: Just let me have him alone for two minutes.

DAVID: It's nice to see someone who takes pride in their work.

MAX: In any event, we need to keep them distracted.

I'm going to search for the necklace,

I don't need them in my hair.

And if we're all in agreement,

let's eat.

[Atmospheric Music]

PERCY: What's this, prom night?

MARCUS: It's called sophistication, Percy.

PERCY: Oh.

RUDOLPHO: Does us all good to get gussied up

every now and then.

PERCY: You are such hopeless boy creatures.

RUDOLPHO: Au contraire, we are full of hope!

Hope there's a pot of onmium at the end of our rainbow.

MARCUS: Carravaggio tracked onmium down on the databases.

It's legit, and besides, what's wrong with dreaming, eh?

RUDOLPHO: Prefer to live in the drudgery?

MARCUS: And do tell Rudolpho, dearest,

how do you plan to spend your billions?

RUDOLPHO: I was thinking some 30, 40 room affair

in the Louis countryside.

A large waitstaff to cater to my every conceivable whim.

And a large harem to cater to my every inconceivable whim.

[Laughing]

RUDOLPHO: And you Marcus?

MARCUS: All the toys money can buy, what else?

Percy?

PERCY: Oh please, I'm not playing.

MARCUS: Oh, come on, no desire to lead the good life?

RUDOLPHO: Yeah.

PERCY: I am living the good life now.

RUDOLPHO: Yeah, now that's rich.

Look, whatever your reasons are for being here,

they're your reasons, nobody else's.

PERCY: Yes, I know.

MARCUS: We're just having a bit of fun.

PERCY: Speaking of fun,

I think it's time to feed our prisoner.

RUDOLPHO: Oh, no you don't.

Marcus?

MARCUS: Watch the shirt!

[Soft Music]

CALLISTA: Carravaggio?

CARAVAGGIO: My goodness, who is that?

Callie, I barely recognized you without a gun.

CALLISTA: Still working on the jokes, huh Car?

CARAVAGGIO: Sadly, yes.

On one of my previous servile incarnations

I had been programed with an ingratiating sense of humor.

CALLISTA: Uh huh.

Listen,

what were those old days like aboard the Tulip?

CARAVAGGIO: In a word, magnificent.

CALLISTA: Yeah,

there's something to be said for wealth, I guess.

CARAVAGGIO: Indeed there is.

May I ask,

do you miss your life of privilege?

CALLISTA: Me, never.

Well, almost never.

QUIGLEY: Golden retriever to team leader, come in.

Golden retriever to team leader, come in please!

Whoa! [Laughing]

Nice suit!

Going to a prom? [Laughs]

MARCUS: More swill for you.

QUIGLEY: You think I'm crazy, don't you?

MARCUS: Uh, Pretty much, yeah.

QUIGLEY: When my friends come to rescue me,

you'll see just how crazy I am.

MARCUS: I'm sure I will.

QUIGLEY: Laugh if you like.

MARCUS: Whatever.

QUIGLEY: Hold on, it's them! [Chuckles]

Yeah!

Hey, come in!

[Laughing]

I can hear you!

Yeah!

Hey, enjoy the prom, dear! [Laughing]

No, I wasn't talking to you.

Yeah,

well everything is going fine, as far as I know.

Look, you just sit back,

and you wait for my signal.

[Soft Music]

MAX: That was delicious, my compliments.

RUDOLPHO: Well, it's amazing what you can do

with a can opener and a hot plate.

MAX: Shame Percy couldn't join us.

I was hoping the ambience might mellow her mistrust.

TRAVIS: It'd take more than that.

Another glass?

MAX: No, no, no, well, if you insist.

I'll wager this old girl still

has some surprises left in her?

TRAVIS: Quite a few, I'd suspect.

MINA: Whoops.

[Soft Music Cont.]

Whoops.

MAX: Makes me pine for the good old days

when men were men and women were property.

[Laughing]

Still, they knew how to live, first class all the way.

CALLISTA: Yes, well, we hardly use these decks anymore.

MARCUS: They're kinda creepy if you ask me.

MAX: Nonsense, it's history, living history.

Isn't that right doctor?

DAVID: Hm, what?

Oh, uh, oh yes, oh yes.

MAX: Perhaps your Carravaggio has some old holo-images

in his memory that he could show us.

TRAVIS: Maybe, Car?

CARAVAGGIO: I would love to, but my memory is a bit fuzzy.

MARCUS [O.C]: Hey, it's ballroom dancing.

[Classical Music]

MARCUS [O.C]: It's beautiful.

[Dramatic Music]

[Snapping]

[Classical Music]

MAX: Dazzling.

How marvelous they look.

So, my soon to be unspeakably wealthy brethren,

have you imagined what you'll be doing with your fortune?

[Dramatic Music]

PERCY: Mmm-Hmm

MAX: The old ball and chain couldn't

stop talking about your father.

Dante this, Dante that.

But the fact was, he couldn't stand Zelda.

And it wasn't long after that

that I realized the same thing. [All Laughing]

MAX: I am forever in your father's debt.

TRAVIS: I'll be sure to tell him next time I see him.

PERCY: Oh.

MAX: That diary was in my quarters,

it's mine.

You stole it!

PERCY: Yes, I did.

It's very interesting,

shall I read the underlined parts?

MAX: I, I, I--

PERCY: Lied?

MAX: Lied about the onmium mine on Ganymede.

TRAVIS: Well Max, you are a surprise.

MAX: Listen, I lied about Ganymede

but not about the onmium.

[Slam] PERCY: What is with this diary?

TRAVIS: You better spit it out Max.

MAX: No need for violence, Percy dear,

I'm a man of peace.

The diary belonged to a woman named Nora McCallum.

She was a filthy rich passenger aboard the Tulip

In fact, she ate at this very table during the trip.

Complained about the asparagus salad.

Or was it the cream of celery soup, I'm not--

[Sharp Thud] MAX: Sorry.

Nora's husband couldn't resist the ladies,

so she punished him by losing the most valuable

object he ever gave her,

a necklace.

Made out of pure onmium.

Worth billions.

RUDOLPHO: And, where did Ms. McCallum leave this bobble?

MAX: Onboard the Tulip,

it's all right here in the diary.

You can read it yourselves.

I found the diary during my brief tenure

as owner of the Tulip.

And when I heard that the ship had emerged from hyperspace,

I decided I might have a chance to get the necklace.

CALLISTA: Car,

any Nora McCallum in your memory banks?

CARAVAGGIO: I've retained only fragments

of the period in question.

A great deal of the data has been

degraded due to damage and neglect.

TRAVIS: Sounds like your problem, Max.

Give it a try all the same, Car.

PERCY: Try the dormant caches,

I did some rescue work in there a few weeks ago.

CALLISTA: Just a guess, but you two aren't

exactly as advertised either, right?

MAX: Mina is my mistress.

RUDOLPHO: Max, you dog, you.

TRAVIS: And there I was thinking Max was all business.

MINA: Max is very kind to me.

MAX: David is a professor of history.

DAVID: Ex professor.

History's a bit of a dead subject these days, I'm afraid.

I needed a job,

I'm sorry.

CARAVAGGIO: Oh, here's something.

Oh, now I remember her.

What a lovely,

yet troubled lady Ms. McCallum was.

She's seated first to your right.

[Orchestral Music] [Indistinct Chatter]

MAN: Thank you.

MAX: Freeze it there!

That's the onmium necklace.

CALLISTA: And what exactly is the little gem worth again?

MAX: 10 billion.

A small fortune, even divided eight ways,

which is what I intended all along.

Okay, that was another lie,

but that's what I'm offering now.

TRAVIS: Well Max, that's very kind of you.

But unfortunately,

you're in no position to offer anything.

PERCY: I say we throw them in the brig.

[Baffling] MAX: On what charge?

CALLISTA: He's got a point.

TRAVIS: Then we confine him to quarters.

And you'll keep a close eye on them, Car.

CARAVAGGIO: Will do. [Beeping]

CALLISTA: They really are beautiful.

TRAVIS: Carr, can you tell us anything more about this onmium?

CARAVAGGIO: Yes, it appears to be an allotrope of carbon.

TRAVIS: English?

CARAVAGGIO: A structurally different form of an element.

Carbon is usually found in three allotropic forms.

Amorphous, graphite and diamond.

From this sample, I would surmise that

onmium is a fourth allotrope.

[Zap] MARCUS: Whoa!

TRAVIS: What happened?

MARCUS: I don't know.

CARAVAGGIO: It appears an electrostatic charge

was generated when Marcus touched the proton microscope.

Oh, this is unusual,

something is happening to the crystal.

[Crackling] TRAVIS: What's going on Carr?

CARAVAGGIO: The electrostatic charge has caused a proton leak,

which has set off a sequential enriching cascade--

CALLISTA: English Car, English.

CARAVAGGIO: Essentially the leaking protons have enriched

the onmium and set off a small fissile reaction.

CALLISTA: As in nuclear fission?

CARAVAGGIO: It is a similar reaction.

One moment.

By my calculations,

were the onmium to be properly enriched,

it would generate in the order

of two billion electron volts.

CALLISTA: But that's impossible.

That would make it about a million times more

than a uranium based reaction.

CARAVAGGIO: Indeed,

it would be a very powerful energy source.

TRAVIS: Powerful enough to fuel our antimatter drive?

CARAVAGGIO: Oh yes.

RUDOLPHO: With the antimatter drive working,

we could expand our territories to the far worlds.

We could be rich.

And Max Fairley won't have a clue.

CALLISTA: Unless he knows about onmium's potential.

CARAVAGGIO: If I may, that is highly improbable.

Onmium is very rare and the confluence of random events

that created the cascade are quite unlikely.

TRAVIS: But not impossible.

PERCY: Max is too stupid to know it's real value.

TRAVIS: I think you're right.

In any event, we don't let him know what's going on.

MARCUS: This also means that we are one step closer

to hyperspace.

PERCY [O.C]: Not this again.

MARCUS: And finding your Uncle Dante.

PERCY: Or losing any chance--

TRAVIS: I think we're getting ahead of ourselves.

We don't even know where the necklace is.

CALLISTA: Car, any idea where Nora McCallum

went when she was aboard?

CARR: Even with Percy's herculean efforts

to restore my dormant caches, no.

TRAVIS: Well, we should start with the places

she had most likely access to.

CALLISTA: Dining room, ballroom, quarters.

RUDOLPHO: Dining room?

MARCUS: Dining room.

CALLISTA: So, who takes whom?

TRAVIS: You want Dave?

CALLISTA: Not particularly.

TRAVIS: You mad at him?

CALLISTA: He lied to me.

TRAVIS: Well, here's your chance to get even.

[Over Speaker] RUDOLPHO: Travis, nothing on

first glance at the dining room.

We're going over it again, then heading up to the ballroom.

TRAVIS: Good, stay in touch.

PERCY: I'm taking Max, no debate please.

TRAVIS: Wouldn't dream of it.

CALLISTA: Which leaves you alone with Mina.

TRAVIS: I'll muddle through somehow.

CALLISTA: I bet you will.

QUIGLEY: Golden retriever here.

Situation not good.

No, confined to their quarters.

Well, you just may have to do that.

I will make my move when the time comes.

[Spaceship Humming] [Atmospheric Music]

RUDOLPHO [O.C]: Anything?

MARCUS: No.

RUDOLPHO: Anything yet?

MARCUS: No, not yet.

RUDOLPHO: How about now?

Listen, assuming this necklace hasn't been laser welded

into a bulkhead or something during a refit,

this could be the answer to all our problems.

MARCUS: Yeah, well that's a big could.

Even if we do find it, then we have to figure out

how to enrich the onmium properly.

And then adapt it to fuel our antimatter drive

and then we have to figure out

how to manipulate the time space gap,

which is gonna be hard.

RUDOLPHO: Alright, alright, alright, I get your point.

[Beeping]

RUDOLPHO: Anything yet?

[Beeping]

MAX: You really don't need to point that weapon at me, Percy.

PERCY: I know.

But I'm enjoying it.

MAX: What makes you think the necklace is in here anyway?

PERCY: It's gotta be somewhere.

MAX: Right.

Look, I think we ought to sort out our differences.

PERCY: Oh yeah?

MAX: Yes, your Uncle Dante, a brave and decent man.

PERCY: Yeah.

MAX: I truly, truly respected him you know.

PERCY: Yeah, well, he hated you.

MAX: He never got to see my good side.

PERCY: I'm sure we'll all get to see your good side

when you find that necklace.

DAVID: I am sorry, Ms. Larkadia.

It was Max's idea to lie.

He said he knew what he was doing.

CALLISTA: You do everything Max says?

DAVID: It pays the bills.

I'm afraid I have to be a bit of a mercenary,

I have no choice.

CALLISTA: Do I look like I'm interested?

DAVID: Look, I grew up without much money.

I chose a profession that didn't pay.

Essentially, I've spent my life with my nose pressed up

against the window, looking at how the other side lives.

CALLISTA: Believe me, they're no happier.

DAVID: At least they can be miserable

in pleasant surroundings.

MINA [O.C]: This is some fun, huh?

TRAVIS: Oh, I'm having a great time.

MINA: You know, me and Max, I think it's over.

TRAVIS: Oh yeah?

MINA: Yeah, he's not my type.

Frankly, I don't know what I was thinking.

TRAVIS: Oh, really?

MINA: Yeah, I prefer my men more rugged, stoic,

dark haired and named Travis.

TRAVIS: Funny, same way I like my women,

minus the Travis part.

[Giggles] MINA: That's funny.

TRAVIS: Thanks, I'm here all week.

MINA: Listen.

Don't you ever want a little down time?

TRAVIS: Mina, you're a very attractive woman.

But you can put your clothes back on.

MINA: Oh, looks like you broke my resistance record.

CARAVAGGIO: Sorry to interrupt Travis,

but scanners indicate a class seven freighter to port

at 5000 kilometers en route to IO.

The captain sends his greeting. TRAVIS: Thanks Car.

Car, are you sure it's a freighter?

CARAVAGGIO: Saturn registry confirmed.

TRAVIS: Car, evasive maneuvers. [Loud Rattle]

PERCY: What the hell was that?

MAX: I honestly have no idea.

[Spaceship Humming]

[Lasers Firing] [Explosions]

RUDOLPHO: I don't think this is Max's doing.

MARCUS: Then who? [Rattling]

RUDOLPHO: Somebody bloody serious, bridge?

MARCUS: Bridge.

TRAVIS: I'm sorry.

MINA: Me too.

[Zap]

[Explosions] [Lasers Firing]

[Metal Clattering] PERCY: Car?

[Laser Fires]

[Solemn Dramatic Music]

[Tense Dramatic Music]

PERCY: Pity it's a stun.

[Door Creaking]

CALLISTA: What's going on?

PERCY: No idea, Car's on the fritz.

Where's Dave?

CALLISTA: Taken care of, Max?

PERCY: Same.

BOTH: Travis.

[Door Opening]

QUIGLEY: Well it's about time.

MINA: Well, I couldn't do anything with their AI

keeping us all under constant surveillance.

QUIGLEY: Our friends should have taken care of that.

The AI should be out of the picture by now.

Where's the crew?

MINA: Travis is unconscious, the rest could be anywhere.

QUIGLEY: Do you want me to tell our ship to stop firing.

MINA: No, tell them to target nonessential systems,

keep the damage minimal.

We've gotta keep this crew distracted while we search

for the necklace.

When we find it, and we get back on the ship,

we can blast them to kingdom come.

QUIGLEY: Team leader, this is golden retriever,

come in!

[Alarm Blaring]

CALLISTA: We'll look for him later.

PERCY: How are weapons?

CALLISTA: Online and charging.

Oh, come on.

Armed, firing counter measures.

[Explosions] [Lasers Firing]

CALLISTA: Communication, scanners, navigation, all down.

Maneuvering thrusters limited.

Environmental and gravitational still functioning.

Hull integrity decreased, but holding.

[Mysterious Music]

[Heavy Breathing]

[Beeping]

MINA: You see any likely hiding spots?

QUIGLEY: Well, she had to have been in

one of these cells when she did it.

[Door Creaking]

MAX: What's happening?

DAVID: I think Mina has double crossed us.

MAX: Typical.

QUIGLEY: You know, she might have been able to

reach through the cell, to the wall behind.

There's some removable panels back here.

[Loud Rattles in Distance]

[Tense Music]

TRAVIS: Travis to bridge.

Damn.

[Sighs] TRAVIS: Great.

[Loud Rattle]

MARCUS: That hit us a deck below.

RUDOLPHO: There goes the swimming pool.

Oh, well, well, well.

You lads out for an evening constitutional?

MAX: It's all Mina's fault, she double crossed us.

MARCUS: No, she double crossed us, she triple crossed you.

MAX [O.C]: Whatever.

Are you going to help us stop her?

RUDOLPHO: No, I think the brig's the place for you two.

[Yelling]

[Rudolpho Groaning]

[Beeping] [Loud Rattle]

[Rapid Beeping]

[Heavy Breathing]

MINA: Okay, shuttle bay.

[Dramatic Music]

[Alarm Blaring]

RUDOLPHO: Come on, Maxy.

MARCUS: Come on Doc, let's get rid of ya.

QUIGLEY: Team leader!

We are approaching the shuttle airlock.

We should be in, in minutes.

TRAVIS: Nice try fellas.

MINA: Wanna neck?

TRAVIS: Some other time, maybe.

CARAVAGGIO: Have I missed out on some fun?

CALLISTA: Damage report please.

CARAVAGGIO: Our reactor has been hit.

I am reading a serious radiation leak.

CALLISTA: It's about time, where are the others?

TRAVIS: Bad guys are all in the brig.

CALLISTA: Good, but we have a problem here.

PERCY [O.C]: The reactor took a big hit.

TRAVIS: How bad?

PERCY: It's spewing radiation, but functioning.

I slowed the leak down a bit,

but the power's dropping off anyway.

[Loud Rattle]

[Lasers Firing]

TRAVIS: Car, how are we holding up?

CARAVAGGIO: We have several hull breeches in progress

and we appear to be outgunned.

I'd estimate a 24 percent chance of survival.

[Explosion]

TRAVIS: Power up the particle beam.

CALLISTA: They'll see that coming.

And then they'll have 30 seconds of target practice.

TRAVIS: Then increase the radiation leak.

CALLISTA: Increase it?

PERCY: Scanners hate radiation.

TRAVIS: Car, bring us about, slowly.

CARAVAGGIO: Certainly.

[Deep Buzzing]

CALLISTA [O.C]: Cannon's charged.

TRAVIS: Fire!

[Lasers Firing] [Explosion]

[Percy Clapping]

PERCY: That was quite fun, quite amusing.

TRAVIS: So, Dave,

did you get even?

CALLISTA: What do you think?

[Soft Music]

CALLISTA: Boo.

TRAVIS: Hi.

CALLISTA: I just thought I'd come down

and soak up some of the ambiance.

TRAVIS: Me too.

We should eat in here more often.

CALLISTA: Yeah, we should.

TRAVIS: You can wear that dress.

CALLISTA: I only wear it for special occasions.

Interesting reading?

TRAVIS: Yeah, this Nora McCallum was quite a feisty woman.

It seems she got a little tipsy at dinner one night,

confronted her husband about his affairs

and he had her thrown in the brig.

CALLISTA: A man's world even then.

TRAVIS: Gotta problem with that?

CALLISTA: So do you think the necklace

is all it's cracked up to be?

TRAVIS: Do I think it's worth 10 billion credits?

No.

Do I think it has the potential to be a powerful energy source?

Wish it were, but I'm a realist.

Nothing in life's that easy.

RUDOLPHO [O.C]: There you are.

I gotta hand it to that Mina.

She plants Quigley onboard, greases a gunship

and puts on over on Max, that's my kinda gal.

TRAVIS: I'm surprised you didn't propose.

RUDOLPHO: I did.

When she's finished her seven consecutive sentences

for fraud, she might give me a call.

CALLISTA: Better hope she ages well.

[Chuckles]

RUDOLPHO: Hey, hey, hey, careful with that.

That's our future you're playing with.

TRAVIS: Car did his molecular analysis?

MARCUS: Uh, yes.

RUDOLPHO [O.C]: And?

MARCUS: Car says it's something called cubic zirconia,

worth about oh, 37 credits.

Which also negates his theory about the energy source.

TRAVIS: Poor Nora.

RUDOLPHO: Poor Nora, what about poor Rudolpho?

My dreams are crushed.

PERCY: You'll get over it.

TRAVIS: Come on Rudy, it's much more fun to dream about

being rich than actually be rich.

CALLISTA: You're right about that.

RUDOLPHO: Still, it must have been wonderful, eh?

MARCUS: Yeah, well, in some ways it still is.

RUDOLPHO: Oh yeah, and how's that?

MARCUS: Well, we still have each other.

RUDOLPHO: Yeah.

DR. SCHOFIELD: We're told your team gets results.

ANNOUNCER: On the next Starhunter.

BARTENDER: Try not to break anything this time.

TRAVIS: Us?

ALRICK: Who are you?

RUDOLPHO: I'm your worst nightmare.

I'm a big man, in the toliet, with a gun.

MARCUS: Can you tell me what I'm looking at?

CARAVAGGIO: The image on your screen

appears to be a residual form of negative energy.

[Dramatic Music]

[Zapping]

TRAVIS: Come on!

[Closing Theme Music]
