where every season we bringoutdated living spaces

kicking and screaming,into the 21st century.

And in this tight urban space,less was definitely more.

We cleared the clutter,toned down the color palettes

and added some simpleclean lines to give

this apartment aclean, sleek, modern,

yet rustic feel.

So, are you ready tosee how our clients feel

about their new modern home?

- It's amazing.

- It's exactly what we expected.

- [Director] And cut.

(gentle upbeat music)

- Hey, Carol.- Hey, Jeff.

- How you doin'?

- Yeah, you know, I'mgonna get the usual.

No, the home renovationlandscape on TV

is just way toocrowded right now.

So we need to finda way to stand out

and grab more viewers.

And not just in themetropolitan areas.

- Well, we cancertainly brainstorm

some ideas, maybe over lunch--

- Oh, it's already been decided.

We're moving the showto your hometown,

for the first halfof season five.

- Who's hometown?

- Hannah's.

I know, I should'verun it by you first,

but it just came up.

- I'm sorry, have youever been to Lewisburg?

Little rural town thatdoesn't really do modern.

- I wouldn't havethought of it either,

if the owner of LewisburgManor hadn't reached out.

Apparently um, Margotwants to convert her

family's historicmanor into a B&B.

You know it, right?

- I used to give toursthere in high school.

Ahem, are you sure shewants a modern makeover?

- Whatever she wants,she wants you to do it.

A big fan of the show.

She also wants itdone in time for

the 150th anniversaryin five weeks.

That's their grandopening and our natural

mid-season break.

- One makeover in five weeks--

- We usually do one an episode.

- Trust me, this wayyou can go indepth,

get personal.

Let the audience getto know you, Margot,

quaint townspeople.

Spruce things up a bit.

- I didn't realize thatthat's the kind of thing

you were after.

- Well, we stillwant you to be bold

but in your hometown, soa little more personal.

in the grand scheme ofthings and, it'll be

so you don't have to worry.

- I know I don't, but,a hotel is not home.

- Mom.

- And you are longoverdue a visit.

- Okay, as long asyou don't bring out

my unicorn comforter.

- The PreservationCommittee wants me

to oversee the renovation?

- I prefer to say, consult.

I know it's a littledifferent than

the work you were expecting but,

the committee can be alittle, (sighs) particular.

(Jeff sighs)

- Well, that's why peoplelove this town, right?

- And they know you ofall people get that.

Three generations of family here

and a real drive to come back.

They just want you to make sure

that any changes are inline with the town's history

and aesthetics,especially since it's

one of the oldestbuildings here.

- Well, look, I'm flattered.

But you don't need thecity architect for this.

The rules won't letthem do anything

structural to the exterior.

- It's a fast project.

The committee just wantssomeone on the ground.

(Jeff sighs)

- Why does thisseem like policing?

- It's just a quickfive week project

which is also why theywant someone who's

familiar with the property.

- Do you watch a lot of TV?

- Oh boy.

(plane engine roars)

traveled and realized I didn't

want to stay stuck in the past.

- So this used tobe open for tours.

- Actually, Hannah wasone of our best guides.

Didn't alwaysstick to the rules.

(Julie chuckles)

- Well I can go rogue,I mean, you know.

- Snuck a whole tourgroup into the lounge.

Even though it was closed.

- I'm sorry, it had to be seen.

The way the lightwas coming in through

the stained glasswindow was stunning.

- See, that passion iswhy everyone loved her.

- Now, that doesn't surprise me.

- And why I thoughtyour modern sensibility

might be exactly what we need.

We'd get a lot moreroom without changing

- So guests couldlounge down below

and play boardgamesin the den and create

like a two-tieredlounge for anyone

to relax and mingle.

- I never would'vethought of that.

- And then also down there,if we could also just...

Um, if we could just knockdown the east facing wall

we can also create an areafor guests to check in

and get a welcomeglass of wine and go to

the new lounge.

- Exactly.

to transform this manorinto a bed and breakfast.

- Honestly, I don't knowwhy you want to film me

but, uh, knock yourself out.

It's just, I hope I don'thave to object too much,

you know, so I can justfly under the radar.

(Julie laughs)

of the buildings in this town
