in the way your body is to be able to do this?

‐ Yes. I was born flexible.

I practice every day to get here.

so we were all singing at young ages.

‐ But when we managed to find each other,

We all grew up together

and we all were a little weird.

We didn't really fit in,

and so ever since then, we've stuck together.

‐ We think we have something special here

and the dream is to be able to do this full‐time

without having to worry about trying to make ends meet.

‐ We quit our jobs to pursue this full‐time.

‐ We did not know

what our next check was gonna come from,

how our bills were gonna be paid.

It's hard.

Certainly, there's a lot on the line.

And our goal has been to get right here

to "America's Got Talent."

It is our chance to share what we do

with millions and millions of people.

We met Mariah in high school singing background for a play,

and I now live in Los Angeles.

Who did you travel with?

Are you here with your mum and dad, or‐‐

‐ My mom. She's amazing.

She gave up everything so I could move here.

‐ I started dance when I was 2 years old.

My mom would take me to the dance studio

and as soon as I got in there, I fell in love with it

and I can't imagine doing anything else.

As long as I can remember,

I've always been a bigger girl.

Growing up, I didn't think there was any problem with it.

I just saw it as,

we're just all unique in our own way.

It wasn't till I got to 8 or 9 that I started noticing

people were looking at me weird

or talking about me behind my back.

I went to a studio

and the studio director comes to my mom and I and says,

"I'm sorry, but Amanda's body type doesn't fit my team."

I just fell to the floor,

just crying.

I felt worthless.

It completely ruins your self‐confidence

and it just makes you question everything.

My mom would tell me

that the things these people do are wrong,

but you just have to get right back up

and keep doing what you love.

She's the best.

‐ I'm proud of you no matter what happens.

‐ Aww.

My mom has given up everything for me to move to LA

to try to pursue dance.

She gave up her job in Colorado.

She gave up her dreams

so I could live mine.

‐ I think this is your time.

I think I've been on the sidelines for so long,

it's, like‐‐it's my time to go out there and shine.

Growing up, I never thought I would do anything like this,

I wanna help make them feel beautiful and powerful

because I'm really lucky that I had a mom

that did that for me.

is that young people hate old people.
