Mother,

I've drafted the abdication decree.

Now I only need the City Owner Seal.

This is the most thoughtful thing

you've ever done so far.

Thank you for your compliment!

Since you've forged the decree,

why didn't you forge a City Owner Seal at the same time?

It should be very easy to you.

You know that these are all forgeable,

so this fake decree is obviously

not convincing enough.

Why don't you,

just help me this one last time?

Walk out of here

and announce in the meeting hall

that you'll pass your throne to me,

and demote Chen Qianqian to a commoner.

You told me

that you've been raising me as your successor.

"The City Owner of Huayuan

has ruled the city for 25 years.

Though the city was once in turmoil,

with the blessing of our great ancestors,

it was revitalized again.

After observing the astrological signs and people's will,

though people's support is there,

The City Owner is in a bad shape

and no longer capable to lead the future of Huayuan.

The Third Princess Chen Qianqian

was appointed as the Crown Princess,

yet she is ill-behaved and has no sense of morality.

She's not a good fit for the position,

and she's not

as large-hearted and caring as Chen Chuchu, the Second Princess.

You are large-hearted and caring?

And she is ill-behaved and has no sense of morality?

Do you know

that when you were born,

Huayuan and Xuanhu were right at war.

To rescue Huayuan City,

Minister Pei sacrificed her life.

At that moment, I made up my mind

to raise you into a righteous person like her.

Later on, you were really more and more like her.

If

you can inherit Huayuan

and become the next City Owner,

I think you'd live up to your capabilities.

Why did you

talk about late Minister Pei?

I...

I just remembered something from the past.

I feel sorry that my years of effort

has gone in vain!

Mother, we don't have so much time!

Do you remember how the corner of this seal

was damaged?

When you were little,

you thought it was a toy and tossed it around.

Then you accidentally chipped the corner.

But I didn't blame you at all.

I didn't expect

that when you touched it again,

you'd use it

to do such an unfilial and disloyal thing!

If I had known it,

I should have punished you severely

and let you know the gravity of misbehavior!

At this point,

it's too late to change my mind!

Your Majesty!

You... you dare to threaten me?

Mother, just grant my request!

You!

Give it to me!

Chuchu!

Your Highness! Young Master Han betrayed us!

Our people

have been surrounded by Xuanhu army!

What?

Han Shuo tricked me!

You idiot! You opened the door to our enemy?

Han Shuo is a crafty person!

You are not his match at all!

Only Qianqian can contain him!

Han Shuo!

Your Majesty! Your Majesty!

Han Shuo, you promised you'd work with me,

but you betrayed me while I was negotiating with my mother!

It's only because you are too credulous,

just like how I was before.

Chen Qianqian was the one who lied to you!

My heart for you is real!

How can you treat me like this because of her mistake?

You should blame that you are all women of Huayuan.

So you only have Chen Qianqian

in your heart?

Your Highness!

Stop!

Pei Heng, you stole the flower token?

Arrest Han Shuo, now!

The City Guards' job is to protect Her Majesty and Huayuan City.

We'll never disgrace the fame of Pei family!

Looks like between your mother and me,

you chose your mother.

Between Huayuan and me,

you chose Huayuan.

Han Shuo.

My love for you

and my intention of protecting Huayuan citizens

are not against each other.

Do you understand?

Arrest them all!

Report!

Minister Pei!

A group of bandits helped us take the city gate back!

Bandits?

Could it be Meng Guo?

Meng Guo!

How did we forget about him?!

Young Master, it'll be too late if we don't go now.

There's still one thing I need.

When we conquer Huayuan,

the Crown Princess will belong to you sooner or later!

Qianqian, come with me!

Stop!

Mother!

Arrest Han Shuo and Chen Chuchu!

Mother!

Chuchu,

from now on, I'm no longer

your mother!

Maybe I owed you

in the beginning,

but now, we are even!

Your Highness, did you receive my letter?

Han Shuo, Her Highness asked me to follow you,

but you escaped!

I'll capture you again today

to fulfill my mission that Her Highness assigned to me!

Han Shuo,

please stop!

You mean

Han Shuo was the principal criminal,

and Chuchu was his hostage?

Chuchu has been a prudent and sensible person.

If she weren't threatened,

she wouldn't have rebelled.

She tried to stab Qianqian

because she wanted to prevent Han Shuo from escaping.

You stole the flower token from Chuchu.

Why are you trying to save her now?

Even if I'm not,

I think you'll still forgive her

and spare her life.

Rebellion is a serious sin!

Why do you assume that I'd let her go?

Because she's the only daughter of the late Minister Pei!

Because you promised my mother

that you'd take good care of Chuchu!

How did you know that?

My mother died in battle.

Chuchu was a baby and you pitied her,

so you adopted her.

Back then, I was already old enough to remember things.

But now,

Chuchu made a big mistake.

Let Han Shuo die for her.

Once Han Shuo is dead,

no one else will know the truth.

Chuchu could be an accomplice,

could be a hostage,

could even be a heroine

who spied for days and finally made her work worth.

No matter what, let Han Shuo

take all the blame!

Good!

Like mother, like son!

You do live up to your mother's reputation!

Though I planned everything,

I forgot about Meng Guo's troop.

I should have listened to Bai Ji

and enlisted Meng Guo into my army.

You finally got what you wanted.

I'm here to save you!

You think I can still be saved?

The daughter turned against her mother.

The sisters fought each other over the throne.

In order to shut my mouth and save her dignity,

the City Owner will certainly kill me!

You'll live

if I want you to.

You think I'll still trust you?

Han Shuo,

you still don't know

that my love for you is real, do you?

I regard myself as a smart person.

But you always make me feel

that I'm just fooling myself.

No matter what I want,

I'll end up doing things as you wish.

You did this for Han Shuo,

as well as to ease

Are you going

Pei Heng,

maybe we didn't belong to each other from the very beginning.

The me you love

Just pretend that I was poisoned to death

on my wedding night when I drank the cross-cupped wine.

You hated me back then.

There's one less eyesore in this world,

and no one will force you anymore

to marry someone you don't like.

Maybe thinking of it this way

will make you feel a little better.

But you didn't die.

Falling in love with you

after your marriage

is the best thing that has ever happened

to me so far.

It felt like

my life became meaningful

You were the one who told me

that I could also have my aspiration,

I could do whatever I wanted to do

just like a woman.

But later on, I realized

my aspiration,

the one I loved the most,

was you!

I didn't know what love was either,

until I met Han Shuo.

Pei Heng,

you will meet a nice girl in the future.

Don't be concerned about me.

I will be fine.

Alright.

Your Majesty,

you'd better not.

It'll only make you sad.

Mother.

Mother. Qianqian is gone.

You need to take good care of yourself.

Forget it.

Let's not look at her.

Just let her rest in peace.

Mother,

I have a method that can protect her body from decay

and make her face remain the way it is.

What method?

Refine mercury from cinnabar

and inject the mercury into her blood vessels.

This way, the body will never decay.

She wants to poison me to death!

Qianqian was the Crown Princess of Huayuan!

How can you treat her body with disrespect?

No.

Just let her rest.

In that case,

I have a nice coffin in my mansion.

It's well sealed,

insect-repelling and moisture-proof.

It suits her noble status better.

Put Qianqian

in that coffin later.

That coffin is sealed tightly.

I'll suffocate to death

even before Han Shuo digs me up!

Qianqian disobeyed Her Majesty;

she was a sinner.

She doesn't deserve such a nice coffin.

You may as well just save that for yourself!

Since she was a sinner,

then she can't be buried in the tomb of our ancestors.

But mother

certainly won't let Qianqian wander in the wild

and become a homeless ghost.

Why don't we cremate her body instead of burying her?

That way, we can make her relics into sarira,

which will be enshrined in the ancestral temple

to comfort her spirit in heaven.

She wants to burn me into ashes!

She won't even give me a break after I died!

How come

you hate Qianqian this much?

such a big sacrifice for you.

You've got to treat her well!

Mother

just... just left like that?

She wouldn't even say anything more to my body?

Is she still angry with me?

She wouldn't forgive me even I'm dead.

She may already know your plan.

What a childish play!

Your Majesty, you mean

the Third Princess faked her death?

If I hadn't played along,

her trick would've been exposed!

The Third Princess

is surely stubborn.

She hurt you so badly

in order to save Han Shuo's life.

Not only to save Han Shuo,

but also to save Huayuan City.

From now on, Chuchu

will be my only successor.

There'll be no more fights.

Though the citizens of Huayuan support Qianqian,

Chuchu can't stand her.

If she didn't die,

Chuchu and I

would never get along.

So the Crown Princess

actually gave up on the City Owner's position?

Today,

I admitted her death,

which means we are no longer mother and daughter.

She betrayed me that day

for Han Shuo on the execution ground.

And today,

I betrayed her

for Huayuan in the mourning hall.

I don't know if Qianqian will blame me.

I think she will understand your thoughtfulness.

But

it'll be difficult for her to return to Huayuan in the future.

Don't know when

you can see each other again.

Escort her to the cemetery tonight

and offer her a chance to leave.

Yes!

Her Majesty has ordered

to bury the Third Princess in the cemetery tonight.

I'll let her fake death become true

and bury her there forever!

Yes! I will finish this mission.

Then come back soon.

I still need to find a way to take back the flower token.

In fact, if you are promoted to be the Crown Princess,

it should be appropriate to appoint Mr. Pei

as the Minister of Defense.

What are you talking about?

How can a man be qualified to lead the army

and command the City Guards?

However, when I become the Crown Princess,

it'll be different.

I will appoint you as the lieutenant!

I will do my best to serve you, Your Highness!

Go ahead.

Can you go faster?

I... I'm afraid!

It's a little scary in here!

If you are afraid,

I can get in and hold you in my arms.

Don't!

It'd feel like you bury yourself alive for me.

Plus, the oxygen inside is not enough for two people.

What's oxygen?

It's a type of gas

on which humans live.

Without it, people can't survive.

Then you are my oxygen!

Let her go!

Su Ziying?

Chen Qianqian, you are really alive!

Yingying, please calm down!

Put... put the sword down.

I know what you want.

Just put the sword down.

Let's talk, okay?

I want you to die!

Lin Qi!

Lin Qi! You are alive!

I haven't got my revenge yet.

Of course, I couldn't die!

Did Chen Chuchu send you?

It doesn't matter who sent me.

What matters is

that all of you should be dead!

Just kill me

if you dare!

Look, if you had surrendered to me earlier,

there wouldn't be so much trouble!

What do you wanna do to him?

Your Highness,

you can also capture and release him seven times respectively.

He will definitely change his ways after that

and submit to you completely.

Meng,

Su Ziying is different from you!

I can never catch him again if I release him.

Then I'll be after him wherever he goes!

What do you want to do to him exactly?

Su Ziying tried to kill you several times!

He deserves to die!

Wait!

Don't... don't kill him!

Just tie him up.

In case he makes trouble again.

Now, please take your buddy away!

Thank you, Your Highness!

Let's go! Come on!

What brought you here?

I heard you were dead and about to be buried here.

So I came to burn incense for you.

Who would expect something like this would happen?

If I had known that, I would have come later.

Maybe I could have really offered you some incense.

Can't believe I actually saved you!

Your bark is always worse than your bite.

I know you wouldn't let me die.

You know me so well!

My fake death plan failed now.

It's even harder for me to dodge Chuchu's attack in the future.

Go to Xuanhu City with me.

I'll take you to my home.

From now on, you need not

worry about what will happen in Huayuan.

Let's go to Xuanhu City together!

No way!

Who's that?

He's a traveling merchant from Xuanhu City.

He saved my life when I was badly injured.

We... We...

You are married?!

That's great! Let him come with us!

We can be each other's company on the way!

Call him over! Come on!
