The world natural heritage
Jiuzhaigou

is called fairyland

and wonderland in the world.

In early times people called it

yangdong heyao nine-village
and green lake.

and zharu
the nine ancient İibetan villages

the name of Jiuzhaigou

which is also
called Nine-village paradise.

Mountains of colorful woods

and rushing Min river

When Min river meets

the rivers in the valley

two rivers with
different colors are created.

This is also a fantastic scenery.

When autumn comes

all trees at the valley are

wrapped with new clothes.

This also contributes to

the Jiuzhalgou's world
natural heritage status.

Looking down over here

the whole village is
like a huge İotus leaf

so since ancient times

people have called it heye village.

The stockade village behind us

is the first Tibetan village

we see iİn the scenic spot

it is called Lotus Leaf

the name comes from the layout of

the overlook from the sky

the shape is very similar
to a lotus leaf

thus comes the name

there are over 200 people
in this village

all of them are Amdo Tibetan

that is why the architectures

we see are all typical
Amdo Tibetan style

the houses are built
with solil and wood which

of course is for
environmental protection

nowadays we use İless wood

so the first floor is built
with brick and stone

while the second
still solil and wood

in order to keep the national style

the carve patterns in front or
at the behind of the house

are the religious signs in Bonism which
is very popular in the Tibetan region.

This village is the most sacred

and holy one inside the scenic spot

the Lotus Leaf village symbolizing

the lotus which makes it so holy

When you step in the valley
you'll first see heye village

also the largest Tibetan village
in the valley

Tibetan houses are scattered
all over the village.

All the Tibetans here believe in

Bon-po the most ancient
Tibetan Buddhism.

This gorgeous colorful house

is decorated
with Tibetan paintings.

The main themes of a İlibetan painting
contain magic umbrella symbol of victory

golden wheel pisces
aguarius whelk

lucky flowers and lucky knot

forming a painting
with Eight Precious.

Besides

other paintings can
possess different themes.

This painting-decorated room

functions as
the living room of Tibetans

in which place

they receive important friends

and hold parties.

What we see now

are the vivid paintings

drawn by the residence here

or by the painters
invited from Tibet.

These paintings' raw materials

are made from nature world.

For example

some are made from
certain plants or natural ores.

Now you can see

the prayer flags swinging
in the wind

as called "geda" by local Tibetans

meaning the flag at the door.

Reed Lake

This is the reed lake
in early winter.

The vast golden reed lake

holds every traveler's step

and makes them reluctant to leave.

As the altitude is up to

2140m the reeds here

grow not so high as those

in the lower places.

And this forms a special scenery.

What makes it most extraordinary is

a river belt
in the middle of the reed lake

winding its way among the reeds

and dividing the sea
into two parts.

This river belt

shining like fabulous jade

is called jade-belt river.

The spot we are now at is called the Sea of Reed

it is 2140 meters
above the sea level

however reed grows at such a height

this reed is supposed to grow

below the altitude of 800 meters

yet we see İt here
over 2000 meters

its appearance in Jiuzhai Valley

makes İt a unigue sight here

as we see

the sea of reed features in

its coloriXgold especially
at this time of the year

among the reed there is
a strip of blue water

it is said that this strip İs

the dress strip of
a beautiful Tibetan girl

that is where
the light tracery come from

also for the color of this river

diamond blue

it is also called Jade Belt River.

In this mountain lake

the velvet-like reed blossoms float
above the lake with tides up and down.

In the lake reeds are flourishing

and a lush green

and crystal brook

flows through patches of reeds.

Making up the most
romantic mountain lake

Shuzheng Lake

Overlooking from
high above Shuzheng lake

you'll see the most
spectaculars scenery:

the lake stretches for miles

with nearly hundred
meters'up-and-downs.

19 mountain lakes
in different sizes

assemble like terrace
thus creating Shuzheng lake.

Now you can see

among the various lakes

grow plenty of plants

like arbors willows poplars

pine trees fir trees

and a variety of shrubs.

The Shuzheng Lake is composed
of 19 mountain lakes

like 19 lush green jJades

embedded in the in-depth of
the remote and tranguil mountains.

The river flows across
every bank from the above

through the abundance of trees

bringing about

trees and lakes

of Shuzheng lake.

Shuzheng Lake is not only dispersed
with distinct heights

but also blessed
with stunning colors.

Some lakes are dark blue

some are lush green

plus the waterfalls
with spattering waters

shape a fascinating scenery

the epitome of Jiuzhaigou.

Shuzheng waterfall boasts
a fabulous landscape.

It is characterized by the unigue
shape of lotus petals.

Torrents flush down the waterfall
immediately after piling at the cliff

and then emerges a graceful

and elegant curtain.

The upstream water flows
leisurely along the shoal

and is divided into numerous
currents among the trees

constituting a setting of
an impression painting.

This is Shuzheng Waterfall

a dream-like charming landscape.

Shuzheng village

What we are watching now

are colorful woods.

When autumn comes İn particular

trees in different colors

interweave together

adding great beauty to

this Nine-village scenery.

Looking from Shuzheng waterfall

we can see Shuzheng village.

According to Tibetan Buddhism

there are two kinds of pagoda
zigurrat and stupa.

And this is stupa.

The folk culture street
in Shuzheng village

is the most important handicraft

trade center in the valley.

Wooden buildings in the village
are showing off their great beauties;

and the prayer flags are
swinging in the wind

which is also the Tibetan
folk culture.

Wooden buildings
the traditional Tibetan architecture

generally have three floors.

The first floor is used to keep
livestock and store food

and the second floor is
for the whole family and Buddha

to live together.

Among Shuzheng lake

a long trestle crosses the shoal.

When travelers saunter
on the trestle

they can enjoy and appreciate

the torrents and lakes
on the shoal with great ease.

At the trestle

there is a Tibetan prayer wheel

and some Tibetans' prayer flags.

The mountain lakes flowing here

the greatness of Jiuzhaigou.

The broad rhinoceros lake

is the second largest lake
in the valley

smaller than changhai lake

and it possesses one of

the most variable landscapes.

It tops among plenty lakes
with its splendid reflections.

Every morning

flowing clouds and mists make
their reflections in the lake

thus creating a wonderland

driving people lost in telling
the sky from water.

Trees with red leaves are reflected in the
lake together with the mountains around

and that is the shining scenery
of the rhinoceros lake too.

This vast and enchanting lake

is one of the most charming place

in the valley.

A variety of flowers and trees

flourish around
the rhinoceros lake.

When autumn wind blows a touching
autumn picture appears at the bank.

The beauty of rhinoceros lake

refers not only to
its surface or bank

but also to so many aguatic plants

the color of which is

integrated in the lake

bringing another visual relish.

Nuorilang waterfall is by far

the broadest calcified
waterfall in China.

Nuorilang refers to "god "

and also has
the meaning of "grandeur."

The massive water washes
from the mountain lakes

crosses the trees and drops
some meters' down over the cliff

like the galaxy dashing down

taking on a splendid picture.

The dashing water makes out
a deafening sound in the valley

so the local Tibetans

name the waterfall "god."

The reflections in mirror lake
are most splendid in the valley.

İt seems like a mirror

reproducing the sceneriles
of land and sky

in the lake with complete accuracy.

When the sun begins to
show its gleam

dying the oriental sky
with its red color

the lake is as flat as a mirror.

The sky clouds forests

are completely reflected
in the lake

taking on a fantastic landscape of
fish shuttling among the clouds

and birds flying in the water.

The mirror lake shows
its greatest beauty

in specific time a day.

The best time

is from Zam to 9Sam in the morning

and after bpm in the afternoon

when there is no wind.

This gentle shoal is
called pearl shoal.

On the shoal flourish
various kinds of shrubs.

The torrents flow

on the uneven

calcified cream surface

making enormous spattering
tiny beads

which in the sun

seem like the pearls
in huge scallops

with stunning luster.

And this is the pearl shoal.

Pearl shoal is located
at the altitude of 2433m.

With a broadness of 160m
and a coverage of 9bm2

it is the largest calcified shoal
in the valley.

Because it is rich
in negative oxide ion

and is hundred times
higher than the plain

people name it
"the natural oxygen bar".

The pearl shoal waterfall

takes on a broad crescent shape.

The waters dash straight
down to the valley

with deafening sound

and present a turbulent current

washing swiftly
with splashing tiny beads.

These turbulent currents

possess the greatest beauty

with the most torrential waters
and most deafening sound in the valley.

It is the best waterfall

Five-flower

Now we come tothe most fabulous lake

five-flower lake in the morning.

As calcified materials accumulated
in the deep lake

together with various
kinds of bright algae

and different distributions
of water plants

the splendid colorful patches

in the lake are formed.

In the sun at dawn

the five-flower lake takes
on sapphire blue

adding another color
to the lake in autumn.

So it is also called variable lake.

In the golden autumn

colorful woods at the bank

are reproduced on the lake

combining with beautiful colors
in the bottom lake

taking on a spectacular
colorful world.

Such variety of colors

even exceed painters' imagination.

Many dead trees fall in the lake.

On these woods

grow many deep water plants

mainly including stonewort
isoetes and water tapestry.

Most plants are green

in the early stage.

And then turn orange
when they are thriving.

Looking through the pellucid water

the water plants

are gulte agreeable to the eye

like patches of

soft fabulous velvet.

At the bottom of five-flower lake

accumulate many cream
calcium carbonate deposits

together with other
water plants and algae

and the reflections of

like a huge jewelry

with numerous gems

shining and glowing with
spectacular elegance and grace.

When we are obsessed

with those water plants

we will also find many cute
eidolon-like fish.

They are gymnocypris
potanini herzensten

a unigue kind of plateau fish.

They dominate

the whole lakes of the valley

and grow very slowly.

They seem gulte small

but actualily have lived
for a long time.

Growing slowly is
their unigue feature;

and in the valley

they are even able to İlive
in such chilly calcified water

which bring to the tranduil valley

much more vigor.

In the magnificent five-flower lake

also grow some emerged plants.

The swinging plants

growing in the crystal-clear water
take on a spectacular landscape.

The dreaming place
for every photographer.

Panda Lake

Panda lake possesses pellucid water
with clear reflections.

When it is sunny

the sky and clouds above the lake
the abundance of trees around

all together with the grand towering
mountains are reproduced in the lake

showing a tranduil picture.

At the bank of panda lake
rocks with their unigue skins

are reproduced in the lake

coupled with white stones
at the bottom lake

which are embedded
with several black streaks

and seem like pandas.

What we see now İs
called the panda sea

the name comes from a story:

long long ago
pandas lived in this area

In early spring the water level

decrease about over ten meters

leaving the calcification beach

in Jiuzhai Valley

only drink in this lake

When they drink enough

they fall backwards with hands
and legs in the air

as the pandas'

A long trestle winds
along panda lake.

Travelers on the serene trestle

People said that pandas
in Jiuzhaigou

prefer to stroll here to drink
and look for food.

So this lake

is called panda lake.

Now this is

a kind of plateau fish

gymnocypris potanini herzensten.

İt is specially preserved

in the valley.

When it is sunny

panda lake under the clear sky
and floating clouds

combining with flourishing trees
around and grand mountains reproduced

presents an enchanting landscape.

It is one of the attractions
of panda lake.

Caohal

In more than
a hundred mountain lakes

different plants grow
in different seasons.

This Caohai

has an altitude of 2910m

and in it flourish

plenty of colorful plants.

The lake behind us is
called the Fangcao Lake

which is a banto faro

the meaning of this name
is various kind of

exotic flowers and rare herbs

especially Jiejie grass

and Monochoria vaginalis?

When spring comes flowers
of all colors come out.

There are yellow white and pink

Flowers coming out

makes a great sight

In the deep valleys among
high mountains

it's hard
for the sunshine to reach.

So they always appear
very mysterious.

In the early autumn
grass is like the braid

decorated with colorful bog
and water plants

swinging and smiling in the wind

always give travelers
a big surprise.

In the morning
the half-marsh Caohai

often attract many birds.

Some water birds swim among
the flowers on the lake

and make several tuneful callings

adding more tranduility
to the valley and lake.

Especially in autumn
the golden grass

take on different colors.

Looking far away from them
they seem like golden rings

thus making up
a dreaming wonderland.

Zechawa village

Zechawa village is a Tibetan village

at Zechawa valley

so people give it
the name "Zechawa".

All the Tibetans here

are sincere Bon-po believers.

They hang prayer flags
at their doors

expressing their belief in this
most ancient Tibetan religion.

This road leads to Colorful Pool

and Long Lake.

Colorful Pool.

This is lichen

typical for its unigue structures

in the plant world.

It has five genuses
and twenty thousand specles.

According to different shapes it can be
classified into four categories including crustose lichen

foliose lichen furticose lichen

and gelatinous lichen.

This is gelatinous lichen.

Colorful Pool Of mountain lakes
in Jiuzhaigou

Colorful Pool is famous for

its refinement and stunning colors.

The pool is clear and pure.

UÜnder the water
the gravels' edges and skins

and the color differences of water
plants are all clear to see.

In the sun the green-and-blue pool

produces golden ripples in the wind
and its delicacy and purity

help to hold its beauty forever.

İt is very simple to know
how Colorful Pool is formed.

the clear sky clouds and the glowing
snow peaks are all in the sight.

It feels like the mountains
have reached the sky

closely.

A magnificent landscape of
the Long Lake.

The Long Lake is
at the end of Zechawa valley.

It's more than 100m deep

with an "S" layout.

And it is the highest

and broadest lake in Jiuzhaigou.

Its surface is dark blue

and the water comes from
the melt mountain snow.

To our surprise

the lake has no outlet

but the water never spills out
in rain season

or dries up İn drought time.

So people here call it

precious cucurbit.

Every winter Long Lake

attracts many photographing İovers.

You can often take photo of

the Long Lake blanked with myth.

And in winter

there are always deafening sound
under the icy surface

deep and mysterious.

People call this
"the dragon calling".

İt is said that monsters sometimes
appear around the lake.

In the 1980s some people saw

huge hydro animals here.

there are even no fish
in such a large lake.

much more mysterious.

Long Lake is large and broad

so İit enjoys great sunshine.

atmosphere at dawn and night.
