It's been a while... team leader Seo.

You haven't forgotten my voice, have you?

Are you...

- back for good? - It seems that way.

We have to see each other.

Yes, it's me.

I still haven't found it yet. Just what does the pendant look like exactly?

Don't worry.

I'll make sure everything is neatly taken

care of since it's a death sentence.

It's been a while, team leader Seo.

We have to see each other.

Yes, it's me.

It was exactly as the text message said.

The man with the black boots has appeared.

He called detective Seo and I've only heard his voice on the phone.

It's him for sure! How can I forget that voice?

11 years later, I wouldn't be able to forget that voice if it was 111 years later!

He killed my mom right in front of me!

I threw acid in his face that day. There will

be a scar for sure between the two of them.

No. The blackmailer, Park Seung Ho still hasn't been found.

However, there will be a call to detective Seo soon.

I'm going to watch him 24 hours a day, starting today.

Partner!

- Hey! - What is this?

What's with ruckus this late at night?

And what brings you here?

It's chicken and beer on a day like this!

Chicken and beer!

Awesome! The three of you live here together?

- Awesome, it's so nice! - It is awesome!

How should I put it? It's a moment of

dignity and pride as a government worker!

Over here, this is me and Tae Il's bedroom!

Want to look inside?

- Oh my gosh, there's two rooms? - That's right.

- Then this is Dae Gu's room? - Yes.

You're using it by yourself? Wow!

Who cares if I see it! Seriously, you're so petty!

How nice! I wouldn't wish for anything if I could live in a place like this.

- Did you get a room? - No.

Why? Do you have to move?

She got conned by the previous owner of the student building.

- What? - She paid three months in advance

- and got kicked out. - Goodness.

- Hey you guys? - Yes?

I think about this often. Don't you guys see ourselves as one family?

What is a family?

We live together in one house, eating and watching TV together.

Also getting together like this often to eat chicken and beer!

- Drink quickly and leave. - Certified Korean cuisine chef!

- You've heard of that, right? - You have it?

I'm the daughter of Madam Jang that has it!

If I were to live here, I would make breakfast and dinner for you.

With a variety of vegetable and fruit juices.

And I can decorate the whole place...

Leave now.

Okay! I got it!

Hey, you know it, right? You saw it, right?

I tossed that punk's knife to the side and knocked him down with a head butt.

Lastly, I flew and slammed him with my elbow.

While I demanded that Eun Dae Gu apologize, had the captor sympathize

and after I made him careless...

I acknowledge that.

The intent to interfere...

had great results.

The start of that great result was what?

- Ji Gook. - It was the hairspray blast off!

- Cheers! - Cheer!

Cheers, Dae Gu Dae Gu! Cheers!

But, you guys...

Did you guys do that, too?

I mean, it's not like it's a dog fight.

We all threw ourselves and got tangled up on the captor wanting to catch him.

Squirming, grabbing, moving all over the place, huffing and puffing.

Breathing in the gas for over two hours.

Feeling nauseous and dizzy.

My heart started to pound all of a sudden.

It suddenly started to go thump, thump, right here.

I didn't know if it was pounding because I was

out of breath or if it was just too much excitement.

At first, I didn't know what it was.

But... it kept pounding... it just kept...

You guys...

Somehow...

I think... I found something that makes my heart race.

All of a sudden it started to go thump, thump, right here.

Somehow...

I think I found something that makes my heart race.

It's dark! Save me!

- Who is this? - It's still dark.

Strawberry?

Do you use strawberry flavored body wash?

My stomach! Oh, my stomach!

- Get out! - Hey! Wait!

Hello?

[You are all surrounded]

[Episode 5] [Sometimes you just embrace and live with it!]

Why aren't you answering my calls?

Did you spend the night here?

Why aren't you answering my calls?

I only wanted to have fun and you want

Is this the coordinator? This is Daechi-dong 817 building 106.

I called the kindergarten bus so leave now and stop complaining.

Don't ever come here again.

Damn it. Are they dating?

That punk looked like he's barely 20 years old.

At most, maybe 25 years old? Right?

Don't you know the trend is younger men?

You're the team leader for the missing persons

unit of the detective division in Gangnam.

So what? It's not like he is a minor.

Even if he's not a minor. He could practically be your nephew...

Sure, let's forget it.

Hey, are you still living like that?

I really didn't want to say this...

do you still want to live like that?

If you didn't want to say it then don't say it at all.

I didn't want to say this either...

But here I am saying it again.

Who fault is it that I'm living like this?

What am I supposed to do?

Just what am I supposed to do about what happened over ten years ago?

So, we have to share space with the missing persons team

until we move to the new city hall?

We have to since the old building is going

to be demolished. Wow, it's so packed!

But, can we do this? It's not like this is Hollywood.

- Squad leader Lee. - What?

- You can tell us now. - About what?

The story of Seo Pan Suk and Kim Sa Kyung.

The rerun of Gangnam's Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston.

Why did those two get a divorce?

They got a divorce? Then those two were man and wife?

What is it?

- My hair? - Why...

Why... what did you do to your hair?

And you don't have a boyfriend to get dumped by.

Why? It looks nice. It suits you.

You look pretty! As always, our Uh Soo Sun

looks pretty no matter what she does!

Right, squad leader? It looks good, right? Right, squad leader?

Wait, wait! Ji Gook! Thanks.

Come here for a moment. We have something to do.

What...

- Thanks! - Hey...

Thanks!

She does look pretty no matter what she does.

- Do what? - Apologize.

Wait here until the team leader comes...

Yeah right.

So you're not going to apologize when you

ditched the stalker case without permission?

You grabbed the team leader by the throat!

With the team leader's personality, do you think he's just going to let it go?

I was excluded from anything work-related and

I was a total outcast while you were gone!

Why did you cut your hair? That was the only thing that I liked about you.

Don't change the subject...

You did?

Detective Seo hates it.

- Seriously... - I said no! I'm not going to do it!

I'd rather cut off my tongue than apologize to detective Seo.

Eun Dae Gu! I mean detective Eun.

I don't know why you hate the team leader so much, but...

it's because I really want do well!

I really want to do well from now on and I need you to apologize to do that.

Like you said, I'm inexperienced and I might

not make it no matter how much I try.

But, I want to give it my all before I give up.

And having the right to give up is only for the people who keep trying.

Partner.

You're so dead if you ever do that again.

Partner.

You're going to do it, right?

Team leader, I'm not team member with long hair anymore.

If you forgive me just this once for the stalker case...

I will really work hard and learn without disappointing you again.

I promise to do my best to be acknowledged as your child, sir.

I'm sorry.

Pan Suk, let it go now. The kids did so well at the fast food shop.

My senses... have never been wrong.

Not only you, but you, you, you!

The things you do and the way you look...

not one of you had the qualifications to be a detective.

There was no sincerity or desperation and

there was no perseverance or tenacity.

The unnecessary interference.

The reckless fervor and the bad manners to your superiors.

Your ignorance, craziness and that childish

mentality of not knowing what true anger is.

As I predicted, you will never become a detective.

However...

like the probability of getting struck by

lightening, my senses can be wrong sometimes.

Even with the hostage crisis at the fast food shop.

Granted, it was bewildering and confusing.

You guys clearly proved me wrong and protected the high school students.

And the case was solved.

Good... job.

Today... it's been some time and there's going

to be a party with the detective division.

Make sure that all of you are there by six o'clock, got it?

- Yes, sir! - Yes, sir!

Freeze! You are all surrounded! You are all surrounded!

The team work all of you have shown of the hostage crisis at the food shop...

It was the best!

Our rookies pulled through.

And the apprehension that they might make the

detective division weak in reforming Gangnam.

It just flew away with one blow! Good job! Now, one more time!

You are all surrounded!

Dae Gu, Dae Gu!

I am forever your brother!

If I fail the promotion exam...

- Who is going to comfort me? - You'll just have to retire.

It's you everyone!

I'm... there's still more!

Now... finally!

The chance to listen to this person sing has come!

The living legend of the detective division! Seo Pan Suk!

Seo Pan Suk!

Lee Eung Do! Lee Eung Do! Lee Eung Do! Lee Eun Do!

Hey, hey! Let's go!

Why is it so loud?

Why did you turn it off?

It's been a while, detective Seo.

Ah, yes. It's been a while, prosector Han.

Why are all of you gathered around here being so loud?

Is this a gang or detectives?

Prosecutor Han.

Even if it's a joke, the police officers

that are listening don't feel good about it.

Goodness, the chief is here.

Go and draw some blood.

Go to the Korean hospital's refrigerator

and just get Kwon Dae Woong's PCP.

So I can inspect the poison.

- You mean right now? - Then when are you going to go?

Next year? Go this instant and get it to me within one hour!

Kwon Dae Wong committed suicide, he was pessimistic about life.

There were also signs that appeared exclusively

to only people who hang themselves.

There was pressure to the jugular, carotid and vertebral artery.

And there were no implications to suspect that it was murder.

You needlessly talk a lot.

Is it a congenital disease?

If a prosecutor pulls rank with an investigation and tells you to get it.

Then you just go and get it. As a detective.

The needle won't be able to go inside the heart. You know that, right?

Why won't it go in?

When the time of death has passed 24 hours...

The blood coagulates.

Then cut an artery or whatever and bring me the clotted blood!

I should be able to extract the blood plasma from the groin.

I can't put a knife to the deceased

since it hasn't gone through an autopsy.

I'll go ahead and withdraw it with that.

Chief, I'm sorry. I'll be going first.

Not at all, please go.

Let's go.

Hey. Even if he's a prosecutor, isn't this a little too much?

I know, right? It really is too much.

We have to follow a ridiculous investigation order like that, too?

That's what I'm saying.

The day we first heard a compliment from the legendary Seo Pan Suk.

The team leader also showed us what it was like to be a detective in reality.

Almost like my childhood, when I thought my dad was superman...

that day, I realized he too is just human.

- Hey, go home. - You too, sir.

- I will. See you later. - Goodbye.

So this what the tension between a prosecutor and detective is like.

Prosecutor Han was famous from the start.

Even though he was a grade beneath the team leader in high school.

He kept disrespecting him.

Three years ago, he almost got charged

with assault because of team leader Seo.

Ever since then, he's been detective Seo's natural enemy.

Still, our team leader was kind of cool today, right?

Totally.

Eun Dae Gu and I have to stop by somewhere before we go.

- Go where? - Let's see Yoon Jung while we're here.

You haven't gone to visit her at all, right?

- Yoon Jung. - You came again?

We came because Detective Eun wanted to see you.

How are you feeling?

I'm really fine now.

Since you keep coming like this, I'm the one who feels more sorry.

- Did another person come? - You didn't know?

Team leader Seo came everyday.

I said I liked eating cake and he would bring that every time he came.

I told him there's no place to put it in the

refrigerator because it's small, but he kept...

However... even if there isn't a red cape or a blue suit...

Superman is superman and Seo Pan Suk is Seo Pan Suk.

- A child went missing? - Yes.

A child that was playing at a kindergarten playground disappeared.

The mother called saying that she was going to be late.

That call was answered at six o'clock.

He was playing on the slide for sure at that time.

The teacher went outside after 30 minutes to

check up on him and she couldn't see him.

Everyone lost their minds. Why did they leave a child all by himself?

What's the child's profile?

He's a seven year old boy, the name is Kim Min Joon, parents are divorced and

the mother is currently raising him.

We don't have time. Page the violent crimes unit right away.

And demand backup from anyone available.

Demand support from the police stations and have them

check the hospitals and homes for missing children. Let's go.

Where is the kindergarten?

Go up.

- It's Min Joon! - He was playing ball...

- Where was it? - Over there.

Have you seen this child? His name is Min Joon.

I've seen him go across the big street.

It's skid marks.

It hasn't been long since these were made.

There are no signs of a car accident or broken pieces.

- Let's go down there? - Why? You can't see very well.

I just have a bad feeling.

Who knows.

Child! Min Joon! Min Joon!

Min Joon, Min Joon! Wake up! Min Joon!

- Get the car ready! Right now! - Okay!

Hold on, Min Joon! Min Joon!

Please! Please! We're almost there! Child!

A case has been transferred over to us yesterday by team two.

It's a death incident that happened on Gangsoo street last night.

The victim is a seven year old boy.

He was wandering the streets by himself and it seems like it was a hit and run.

It is presumed that the victim got hit by the car and died

after falling from the bridge and into the grass.

This might be solved easily. The shape looks very unique.

This isn't a regular tire.

In a hit and run accident, the preliminary

investigation and the scene of the crime

is the most important when arresting the culprit.

Secure all the recordings from the CCTVs

and black box of each car that passed the location of the accident.

More towards the top! A little more!

You moved it up too high. Lower it a little. Lower it!

Search every place around the location of the accident.

At least one eyewitness must be found.

As expected, the cause of death was

due to the car accident and fall, resulting

in multiple lesions and skull fracture.

It's cerebral death. The presumed time of death is approximately 9 p.m.

From the results of the tire analysis, only five of these cars were imported.

It's a Rolls Royce, model 5V6 and the tires are handmade.

First, we must find the six owners and the alibi's

on the day of the accident as soon as possible.??

I found it! I found the hit and run car.

- It's Kim Shin Myung's car! - The time is 8:50 p.m.

It's 500 meters from passing the location of the accident.

I'm certain of it! It overlaps with the time of the accident.

This car is the hit and run car!

Find out more about Kim Shin Myung and be sure to

check where the other five cars were on the day of the accident.

Follow me so we can see Kim Shin Myung's face first!

Yes, sir!

Hey, do my words mean nothing to you?

How many times do I have to tell you to have the door open ahead of time!

I'm sorry, I'm sorry.

You better not make me wait again.

License plate number, 18NO 4885. Are you Kim Shin Myung the owner?

I'm detective Eun Dae Gu from the Gangnam police station.

I'd like to ask you some questions.

I'm not a person who people like you can just ask me questions.

There was a hit and run accident on the night of the eleventh.

Do you know about it by any chance? The victim died because of that accident.

The car 4885 was recorded by the CCTV that

day passing the location of the accident.

Wait a minute!

You wench, how dare you get in my way!

Wench?

Hey!

Are you that kid's mom? Do you smell money?

Is that what you want with this death of a child? Business?

Hey, hey, hey! Wait!

How did you know that the deceased was a child?

Detective Eun... didn't mention that.

You drove... on that day for sure, didn't you?

I thought that someone else might've drove that day.

You killed Min Joon... right?

Do you have proof?

If you have proof then bring it.

Do you know this?

If you had taken that child to the hospital, that child would've lived.

Just wait a little bit.

I'll make sure to bring an arrest warrant.

What the heck are you doing? Close the door!

Excuse me.

Squad leader Lee!

I just came from the service center and they

said they never repaired Kim Shin Myung's car.

Never?

The parts are hard to get for that kind of car

so he can't get it repaired somewhere else.

But they looked a little suspicious. I feel like they're hiding something.

I think we'll have to go ourselves.

Pan Suk... it's prosecutor Han.

I left the cell phone at home and he's calling the squad leader now.

Answer it. We have to go and talk to him about the travel ban, anyway.

Don't worry about that.

Chairman. Why don't you send director

Kim Shin Myung overseas for several months?

The detective in charge is such an idiot.

I can't stop it by giving up my position.

Yes. The sooner the better.

I'll call you.

You're here.

Go to the Busan districts prosecutor's office this instant

and escort that victim Oh Tak Gu here.

Yes, I understand.

It's a request for a travel ban. He's the

suspect of the hit and run accident.

We're currently in the process of securing evidence.

But there's a risk that he'll escape.

I don't think he'll escape. His residency is confirmed for sure.

There was a similar case couple of years ago in February...

You're trying to teach me again.

It's a congenital disease.

A congenital disease.

It's more like concern than a congenital disease.

If we work hard to gather all the evidence.

- And the suspect escapes... - Just go...

and escort the victim.

Yes, sir.

Detective Lee.

Go right now and escort the victim Ahn Suk Hwan

to the prosecutor's office in Gwangjoo.

Why are you looking at me like that?

You can't follow Detective Seo around forever.

Then how long are you going to torture me by following me around like that?

- What, you bastard? - I'm not your bastard.

- Are you my father then? - Pan Suk!

You crazy bastard!

I'm going.

The rules say so.

And I can't resign and leave my kids.

I really hope that Kim Shin Myung is not linked to this incident whatsoever.

You don't even take a glimpse of the travel ban application.

And I don't know how you're so sure about his residency to dismiss it!

Hold it in, Pan Suk!

I'll go ahead and go.

We'll be going now.

We'll be back, sir.

Hello? Yes, is this the car center?

Thanks for your trouble, this is the Gangnam police station.

I'm calling about the accident that happened on the eleventh of this month.

Has a car with the license number 4885 ever go in for service?

Strawberry?

- Please calm down. - Min Joon!

I'm so sorry, Min Joon!

- Try to calm dawn first. - Why my child?

Here she is! Here is the wench that killed my precious baby!

Did you take him so you could do this?

You don't even have the ability to take care of him, but

you just had to be stubborn and take him?

I said I would raise him in the first place!

- You killed him! - Why didn't you get him on time? Why?

Why did you work until then and left the child alone?

Shut up! What right do you have to say something like that?

If you had sent child support properly, this wouldn't have happened!

You're the one who should shut that mouth!

Is that man wrong with what he said?

If you had picked him up on time, Min Joon wouldn't have died.

What was so important about that presentation

that you had to toss the child aside?

Are kindergarten parents, mothers or aunts?s

You should've been the one to protect him!

Why are you crying now when you abandoned your child?

Team leader Kim, what are you doing? That's enough.

You have no right. You have no right to blame anyone, and

you have no right to be a mother!

- I said that's enough, Kim Sa Kyung! - Let go!

What right do you have to tell me to stop?

What right... do you have?

What if someone sends in a letter about this to the media?

I'm sorry.

My employee made a huge mistake. I'm really sorry.

So, are you saying that something similar happened

between our team leader and team leader Kim?

Then they have a child between them? No way.

Looking at team leader Kim's body or whatever,

she doesn't look like a mother at all.

If it's the same as Min Joon's situation

then they don't have a child now.

I'm so frustrated! Hey, does anybody know someone?

Does anybody know someone?

Hey, Park Tae Il.

You know something, don't you? Your expressions says so

and you haven't said a word.

I found out when I was in training.

There was a son between the two and it was the same case as Min Joon.

Team leader Seo had to pick him up, but he couldn't because of work.

During that time, the child went out beyond

the school grounds and like Min Joon...

Do you want to grab a drink?

No.

I have to work.

I... thought you had brushed everything aside.

Of course, I was the one who asked you to come and work here.

But, you agreed when you knew very well that Seo Pan Suk was here.

I thought you had brushed everything aside.

Mothers who have lost a child...

Do you know what they hate hearing the most?

It's those words.

It's not like our child is dust.

Why do they keep saying to brush it off?

I can no longer hold...

or touch him anymore.

Jin Woo! Look at me. Jin Woo, Jin Woo!

No! Jin Woo, I'm right here! Jin Woo!

Jin Woo, look at me! Jin Woo!

Jin Woo!

Jin Woo! Please, please!

Jin Woo, no! No!

I'm here! Jin Woo! Jin Woo, open your eyes!

Jin Woo, no! No!

Jin Woo! Jin Woo, no! No! Jin Woo!

Jin Woo, I'm here! No!

My dad is the most bravest person in the world and he captures bad people.

What right do you have to tell me that's enough?

What right... do you have?

How many days have you worked through the

night that you're already falling asleep?

Gather up!

Black boxes and CCTV's... are there any results?

- No. - What about the eye witness?

I'm still trying to obtain information around the location of the accident.

The same day, same location and at the same time.

Does it make sense that there wasn't a single person who passed the accident?

We're starting from scratch again.

We have to secure the evidence no matter what.

Everything within 10 kilometers from the accident, no...

look through every CCTV beyond 100 kilometers from the accident.

Inspect every license plate number that passed the

location of the accident and find the black box.

As for the eyewitness, search for people

who pass that section on a regular basis.

There is without a doubt a person who passes

the location of the accident everyday at the same time. The answer...

definitely lies with that person.

We must find that person without fail.

- Yes, sir. - Yes, sir.

Yes, sir.

I know you've worked hard...

working for several days through the night. Still...

Don't get tired and let's stay strong, okay?

From the day he was born, the life of that child ended after seven years.

He had no chance to go to school.

He had no chance to live his dream.

The chance to have fun with his friends or meet his girlfriend to go on a date.

All those moments were taken away from him.

Doing this won't bring Min Joon back to life, but...

can't we make his death a little less unfair?

I'm counting on you.

Yes, sir.

That's all. Move.

I swear I didn't sleep!

Hold on.

This is it.

Pan Suk.

What is it?

It's the prosecutor's office. He wants us for another escort.

He wants the victim to be escorted from Busan

to the prosecutor's office in Gwangjoo.

- And he wants you to go. - I won't do it! Tell him I can't go!

You know what will happen if you refuse to escort!

I'll be back.

- What are you going to do with that? - You'll know when I get back!

Squad leader, do you think by doing this we'll be able to find the person?

- Hey, an investigation is never ending. - Yes, sir.

- Be strong. - Yes, sir.

- It was very hard, wasn't it? - It's fine.

- Where did you look? - Over there and over there.

- Over there? - I couldn't find anyone.

I found him!

You found one? Good job!

Eyewitnesses tend to change their statements a lot.

You have to secure the information as soon as possible!

Bring him to Seoul right away! I'll be on my way, too!

My back hurts so I can't look ahead when I walk.

I head a loud noise that day and when I looked...

this car hit something and drove away.

I was surprised so I went over to take a look and there was nothing there.

I thought he had hit an animal.

I would've never imagined he would've hit a person and drove away.

I remember the date clearly.

I get my living allowance that day.

- You get your allowance that day? - Of course!

- Please eat. - You, too.

Give him some of that.

Sir. Thank you so much for appearing in front of us! Thank you!

Please eat! Eat!

Excuse me, sir.

Let's talk for just a moment.

Hey, where is he? Where is the eyewitness?

Where is the eyewitness? Where did he go?

He changed his statement.

After he came back from the bathroom he

said he couldn't remember all of sudden.

I don't understand.

He told us that he saw it clearly.

Detective Eun, Detective Ji. Was I the only who heard it?

I'm not the only one who heard it, right?

It doesn't make sense. How could he change

his statement all of a sudden like that?

I think it was prosecutor Han's doing.

It's been noticed lately, that prosecutor Han's investigator

has been going in and out of the police station.

What are you guys doing? If the witness

disappeared then go and find another person.

This is prosecutor Han's office.

You have to come now and escort a victim from Daejeon.

I can't right now.

You guys have investigators as well.

If it's that urgent then do it yourself!

Pan Suk? We found one!

- Another witness appeared! - Really?

Hey, you really mean it, right? You're going to testify for us, okay?

He's a student. He saw the banner and came straight here.

Okay! I'll be right there. Hey, this time...

make sure to follow him when he goes to the bathroom, okay?

Okay.

It had to be hard finding a witness just by looking at the persons face.

As I expected, you're quite amazing, detective Seo.

You even found broken pieces from the headlight.

Perfect. It's perfect.

There are more than one pair of eyes in Korea.

Isn't that so, Prosecutor?

What are you doing? Give him your consent.

Send detective Seo on his way so we can take care of business as well.

Apply...

- for an arrest warrant. - Yes, sir.

Wait!

Where are you going?

Did you think you would be safe when you refused an order to escort?

Of course, I expected this much.

Didn't I tell you earlier? That I wouldn't resign and leave my children.

That attitude and bluff... let's see how long it will last.

Don't you know there's someone flying above the person that's running?

Do you know this?

Above that flying person... there's an earnest one.
