Naval aviation battle of the coast of Kure: From July 2nd to July 29th, the war fleet anchored in Kure came under successive attacks by an estimated number of 1.850 U.S. military aircraft with approximately 135 B-29S And B-24S. The number of dead soldiers exceeded 920 and the number of non-military victims was 2.689 (121 dead).

A ritual of heroism (Fire festival) was held every year in Eba, Hiroshima on June 29th. Though it tended to be restrained during the war, the shops ans stalls were still crowded.

At 08:15 on August 6th, Four B-29S attacked Hiroshima City. An atomic bomb was dropped. From the epicenter to the Hojo residence in Kure, the distance was approximately 20 km. There was around a one minute delay between the flash and the explosion.
