on something pretty special.

We've put together this really
cool after school program

for inner city kids,
kids in our community.

Right now, we're focused
on music and art,

and we're in desperate need

of some new instruments
and supplies.

We'd also like to purchase
a dedicated facility

so we can broaden our efforts.

We've been in operation

and in that six years, 485 kids
have graduated our program.

kids that we serve

last six years of my life

So I started taking classes

We started this program
with just four instruments

that were given to
us by our mother,

who passed away a few years ago.

I've personally invested
at least $10,000

in new instruments,
art supplies,

and the upkeep of the
facilities that we use.

Tracy have written
letter after letter

to every grant
issuing organization

She's traveled the country
trying to find grant money

or someone to invest
in our program,

and she's doing all of this

while teaching
five vocal classes,

and pretty much running
day to day operations.

offer our talents

to the community.

He was away for one

the recent shooting

of Andrew Thomas, a
black male who was shot

by a white police officer
in Geffen City, Florida.

The story has made national
news for obvious reasons,

but this is what we know so far.

We do know that Andrew
Thomas driving in a vehicle

that matched the
description of a stolen car.

This is the reason
they were stopped

by the patrolling officers.

The officer whose name
is yet to be revealed

got into an argument with the
person driving the vehicle.

This escalated into
a physical fight.

That's when Andrew Thomas
exited the passenger's side

and lunged toward the officer.

The officer then
shot Andrew Thomas,

hitting him in the abdomen.

Take a look, here's a
photo that was sent to us

from an anonymous source.

- How did they get that photo?

- They probably got it
off Drew's social media.

It was just a costume
party, we went as N.W.A.

They cropped everybody
else out that photo.

Man, they could've got a
thousand other pictures to use!

- They're calling my boy a thug.

If they make Drew
look like a villain,

the public is gonna
care less about Drew,

and less about convicting
the cop who shot him.

we've been working

an after school

but also equips them
with practical tools

enhance their lives

with just one class,

We still offer that music class

along with art, dance,
voice, physical education,

mathematics, English,
and creative writing.

- And we could not have done
this without all of you.
