[Ancient Detective]

[Episode 15]

That guy is quite skilful.

Are you sure you want to protect him?

Yes.

He is extremely close with that Wicked Woman.

You really don't hate him?

I can kill both of them for you.

You still don't get it.

I've never thought of being with him.

I'm protecting him because I don't want him to die.

Are you still the Zhan Shi Qi whom I know?

Why have you become like this?

Let me tell you a secret.

Do you remember the last Zhan Shi Qi?

Of course, she's older than me.

She joined The Ten Killing Gate together with Zhan Si.

Then, she ran away.

She was gotten rid of a few years ago.

How can a traitor be infected?

I've never told you that...

I was the one who got rid of her.

Back then, I was still Zhan Er Shi Ba,

Zhan Si gave me a mission...

to get rid of a traitor.

The Ming Division has found out where she was hiding.

So, I went there.

Choosing virtue and ability, believe in faithfulness.

We can't just take care of our own family and offspring.

The old men will be dead,

the strong men will be useful, and the young men will grow up.

The widows, the loners and the disabled... will be taken care of.

The men get a good job, and the women get a good husband.

Miss, are you asking for directions?

I'm looking for Liu Se Xin.

She is my wife.

She went to work.

I'm cooking for her.

She will be back when... she sees the smoke and smells the firewood.

I'll get you some tea.

I hope you don't mind.

We planted this tea ourselves.

It's not a famous product, but it tastes good.

It's all my fault that we have to live in this broken house.

I didn't pass the scholar exam for seven years.

I was going to open a small business, but my wife wouldn't let me.

She even took up all the farming works...

so that I can study in peace.

My wife is good at everything.

But don't eat the food that she cooks.

The smell...

So, I cook all the meals at home.

Nerd, is the food ready?

My wife is back.

Come here.

Your friend is here.

Friend?

A shy girl.

She reminds me of the time when I first met you.

It's time to eat, ask your friend to join us.

I left my sickle in the field.

Go get it for me.

Let's eat first.

Be obedient, go and get it back for me.

Okay, I'll get it.

Let's talk outside, don't mess up this place.

Don't go too far. I'm afraid he can't find me.

I can't believe you're so slow now.

My agility isn't needed here.

I just have to be quick to kill people.

I know it's useless to say anything now.

But I still want to say it.

You know what?

The two of us can watch the sunrise together,

it's really beautiful.

Please don't kill me.

I beg you.

This is your fate.

Are you going to avenge her?

You're just a pitiful woman.

I'd never forget the way that man looked at me.

There was no hate...

or fear.

There's only pity.

At that small yard,

there was something called smoke.

I couldn't forget it.

That cup of tea was really good.

She even gave herself a name.

Her name was...

Liu Se Xin.

I want to have my own name too.

I don't even have a name at Zhan Division.

I've never hoped that...

I could be with him for real.

Maybe he has never liked me.

So what?

Someone once treated me sincerely.

He risked his life to save me.

He made me feel like a woman.

Because of all these,

I'm willing to die for him.

But he was targeted by the Ten Killing Gate.

Even if you die 10,000 times, it's not enough.

I'll give it a try.

Mr. Jian, not good. The monk ran away.

I'll go after him.

Wait.

What's wrong?

Don't kill him.

Okay.

Don't come back so soon I'm going to kill someone.

Understood.

Are you able to do it?

Okay, wait for me.

Stop right there!

Why?

Your story is very interesting.

This gift is for you.

I'll let him die in front of you.

Lady boss, what are you doing?

I'm not a lady boss.

I'm an assassin from Zhan Division.

An assassin from Zhan Division?

Are you surprised?

Don't...

Today,

I'll let you two ill-fated love birds to reunite with each other.

Mr. Jian, run!

Stop!

If you still want to live, tell me what you're up to.

Kill me if you want.

It's just that, your sick brother... is alone in the tavern now.

I'm afraid he won't make it.

Oh no, this is a trap!

Wait, wait.

I advise you not to move.

Because we have enough of dead people here.

My mission is to kill people.

Are you going to fight me with that sword?

I don't know how to use a sword, it's a piece of evidence.

Nonsense!

She won't last long.

I promised my good apprentice... to let you die in front of her.

Come on.

Poor monk, why did you stop running?

Amitabha.

I can't run anymore, just kill me.

I can kill you anytime, but I need to make myself clear.

Mr. Jian is a detective.

A detective has his own principles.

He only pursues the truth, without any sentiment.

But I'm a physician.

I have my own principles too.

When I'm treating my patients, I don't care if they're good or bad.

But when I'm killing someone, I have to distinguish perfectly.

Then why are you here?

Mr. Jian asked me to come after you,

but I just want to make a deal with you.

I'll let you go once we have a deal.

A deal? Where is Mr. Jian?

He's busy killing people.

I'm already a murderer.

I'm only left with my life.

I wonder what else can I use to make a deal with you.

I don't care about your life.

I want you to teach me everything you've learned.

Then I'll let you go. What do you think?

Miss, your stitching technique is incredible.

What else can I teach you?

Since I've become a physician,

I want to be the best female physician in the world.

No, the best physician in the world.

To achieve this, I still need to learn a lot of medical skills,

I still have long way to go.

I've traveled around Zhongyuan for years,

everything that I've seen and learned is all here.

Folk traditional Chinese medicine prescription?

We have a deal.

I'm going to turn myself in.

We'll not meet again.

Poor Monk, please take care of yourself.

I'm going back to look for Mr Jian.

He is waiting for me.

Goodbye.

Amitabha.

Miss Gong, may your dreams come true.

I advise you not to move.

You'll die once you move.

You know martial arts.

I told you I don't know how to use a sword.

But I didn't say I don't know how to use a blade.

Since I'm called The Chaos Physician, if my blade skill is bad,

how can I survive in the martial world?

I said, don't move.

Who knows your killing ability... is as good as saving others.

Thank you.

Thanks to your smart planning.

Wait.

What is it?

Please stay and help me.

Help?

Yes.

To be honest,

I'd like to kill someone.

You can't even protect yourself, yet you want to kill someone?

I can't help you. Please excuse me.

Why don't you listen to my bargaining chip?

You kill someone for me.

I'll help you to investigate Ye Xiao Xiao's death case.

What do you think?

Miss Zhan.

Miss Zhan.

Miss Zhan.

Miss Zhan.

Those blades are right on your acupoints.

Once you move, use your strength or get angry,

those blades will penetrate deeper.

So I advise you not to move, then you'll have a chance to survive.

When did you find out?

Back when Grandmother Chang was saving him, he already knew about it.

Since your weapon is a pipe, next time, don't just cover your face.

You've forgotten about...

the smell on your body.

I see.

I don't dare to alert anyone...

because Mr. Yin's case hasn't been solved yet.

It's not the right time.

So it seems, she has seen it through.

Jian Bu Zhi,

you are ruthless.

I told you not to move.

You only have three steps left.

Tell me,

why did the Ten Killing Gate want to kill me?

I can ask the Wicked Woman to save your life.

Don't you dare force me to leak any information.

My mission is to get you killed.

Even if I die,

I must die executing my mission.

This is my fate.

She is dead. What should we do now?

Miss Zhan.

Tell me.

Why did the Ten Killing Gate want to kill Jian?

I'll tell you.

I'll tell you.

He is gone.

This... Well, I didn't do it on purpose.

He suddenly came out.

All right.

Thank you for your effort.

It's okay.

How's her injury?

I stitched her woundsday and night.

I've used up all the silk.

Her life is saved.

Don't worry.

Why isn't she awake yet?

Is she really okay?

Jian,

Miss Zhan will definitely wake up.

Okay.

What's wrong?

My medical skill...

might not be the best in the world, but in the martial world,

I still have a certain ranking.

You don't trust me, or you don't trust my skills?

Not at all.

I'm just worried sick.

You have no idea how much I envy her.

If I'm the one lying there,

no one would save me.

Says who?

If you're the one lying there,

I'd learn to treat you immediately.

Really?

Then, I'll have to teach you in advance.

It's true.

What happened to your eyes?

I...

Nothing.

They just...

feel a little uncomfortable.

Why don't you get some rest?

Mr. Jian,

when you're married in the future, please don't forget me.

I won't. Aren't we friends?

Besides, we might have a chance to explore the martial world together.

I'm not exploring the martial world with you.

Why?

You're dumb and stupid.

If I follow a detective like you,

what else can you do besides solving cases?

I'm not good at investigating.

I will become your burden.

I want to learn new medicine skills from the martial world.

I want to be the best physician in the world.

All right, go and take care of her.

I'm leaving.

"Half a month later"

I'll go to Heavenly Mountain to catch the Ice Silkworm.

Don't you want to say goodbye to Jian?

It's okay.

Both of you, take care.

Right, take good care of him, don't let anyone bully him.

You don't have to tell me that.

Hurry up and go.

Have a safe journey.

Sir.

Why are you here?

Mr. Jian, I did you a favour.

What are you going to do with my case?

I've investigated Ye Xiao Xiao's case before.

But I still need more clues.

So, what can I do?

You're the witness at that time.

Besides providing me memories,

you also have to bring me to the crime scene,

The case happened at Heiwu Ridge. Look for Madam Hei Wu.

Back then, she was also one of the witnesses.

Okay, let's go to Heiwu Ridge after we go to Yan Prefecture.

Okay, from today onwards, I'll follow you wherever you go.

- Deal. - Deal.

Sir, I'll go back to check on Miss Zhan.

- Go on . - I'll go now.

Miss Zhan.

- Miss Zhan. - What's wrong?

Miss Zhan is missing.

Miss Zhan.

Miss Zhan.

Miss Zhan, wait for me.

Miss Zhan.

Miss Zhan, wait for me.

Ms. Zhan, I have something to tell you.

Miss Zhan.

How are you?

Master Jian, long time no see.

You're still injured.

Where are you going?

I'll wander around the world.

In that case,

why don't we explore the martial world together?

I'm not smart.

I know nothing about the martial world.

I just know how to kill people.

We only need one smart person.

If both of us are smart, it will be troublesome.

Miss Zhan.

Actually,

back then at Hanyue Villa,

- I just wanted to tell you...- Mr. Jian.

Are you in love with someone?

Yes.

How did she treat you?

Her affection is alternating.

She doesn't understand my feelings yet.

Are you going to confess to her?

Or are you waiting for her?

What do you mean confess?

As long as we can live together everyday,

everything can be easily understood.

Come with us.

You have a great physician friend.

Would it be inconvenient if I follow along?

Not at all.

If we get injured, he can treat us.

I'm better at surgeries than treating patients.

Why are you here?

I saw you're in a hurry, I was worried about your safety.

It's getting late, Mr. Jian.

Zhao Wo Huan is still waiting for you.

Got it.

When are you going to Yan Prefecture?

I'm about to leave.

I can't wait to go to Yan Prefecture, to meet Master Bai.

Okay.

All right, it's all my fault.

Don't blame yourself.

Just two horses. If we lost it, just forget it.

Just forget it?

Do you know how much they're worth?

Forget about it. You don't have any idea about money.

I don't understand, how did you lose a horse...

when you're feeding it some water?

Zhao, you've complained throughout the whole journey.

I just wanted to take a bath.

We've been walking for ten days. My body stinks.

As I was taking my bath, there was a lightning strike.

The horses were frightened. I was putting on my clothes,

so I couldn't catch them.

God, how much longer do we need to walk?

Come on, sir.

Drink some hot tea and take a rest.

- That's great. - Come on.

Come on.

I'm exhausted.

Boss,

how far is Yan Prefecture?

It depends on which way you're taking.

It takes half a month to get there using the main road.

If you go through the mountain range, it only takes five days.

Five days?

That's a huge difference.

The main road is safer. There are bandits in the mountains.

Bandits?

Yes.

Recently, they often come out to rob people.

That's impossible, it's against the rules.

What rules?

You guys don't know about it.

We have our rules in this field.

We won't rob the people around us.

We can't steal from people of the same area.

First, we can't rob. Second, we can't steal.

Third,

we can't harass decent women.

Otherwise, there will be civil complaints.

Before other bandits pick a fight,

the locals would've picked up their weapons...

and fight against us, then we'll be in trouble.

Not only we can't rob them,

but we have to give them gifts during festive seasons.

So who are their target victims?

People like us, of course.

Handsome travelers who wear decent clothes.

You look rich, but they won't rob you directly.

They will set up a trap, like opening a fake stall,

then they'll feed you drugs.

Zhao.

Zhao.

Mr. Jian.

Mr. Ye, where are we?

The bandit's den.

Do you remember what happened?

We were having tea just now, right?

Then we asked for directions.

We talked about bandits.

The bandit's den.

Yes, we saw you were drugged,

Zhan Shi Qi and I pretended to be drugged as well.

After that, I ended up here.

Master, help us!

Yes, please save us.

Help us, Master!

Zhao,

you said the bandits can't catch the locals, right?

Yes, it's against the rules.

Perhaps they are from the Ten Killing Gate?

Those martial arts aren't from the Ten Killing Gate.

All of you can go.

We will take care of this.

Thank you, Master.

Stay where you are! I didn't ask you to leave.

Tell me.

Why did you catch the locals?

Why should I tell you?

Kill me if you dare!

I've never heard such a rude demand before.

You tell me.

I don't know anything.

Do you want me to kill you or kill yourself?

I refuse to believe that no one is reasonable here.

Hold on.

The one who's reasonable is here.
