Gave pursuit
to an armed bank robber

Who had just killer a teller
and wounded

Three other civilians
at the scene.

Putting himself in harm's way

And without backup,

Detective reagan
exchanged gunfire

With the perpetrator,

Shot and wounded him,

And placed him under arrest.

Tried and convicted,
the perpetrator is serving

A life sentence for murder
to this day.

Old news, pop.

Yeah, but in
long-overdue recognition,

Detective reagan
will now receive

This medal for valor

For his extraordinary bravery
and service on that day.
