we need to refer to a system.

In this case, let's take
the "humanity" system,

with its thousands of individual
particles

moving and interacting
with each other.

of those particles.

is that all thermodynamic systems

but the amount of energy in
the system is always the same.

of thermodynamics.

To fully understand what's happening,

we have to go back in time

to the moment where it all began.

An important person to establish
universal scientific laws was Sir Newton.

He taught us that the universe
could be understood

in accepted terms mathematically,

especially with his laws of motion

The first law of motion,
the law of inertia.

it states that if an object is moving
and nothing touches it

if it is unperturbed, it will
continue moving in a straight line

with a uniform speed forever.
