Lady Jane Grey was born as Bradgate Park
in Leicestershire England in October
1537 all the
unsubstantiated she was the eldest
daughter of Henry grey 1st Duke of
Suffolk and Lady Frances Brandon her
mother was the youngest daughter of the
youngest sister to Henry the eighth
lady Jane also had two younger sisters
Catherine and Mary at the tender age of
16 she was betrothed in the spring of
1553 and on May 21st 1553 she was
married to Lord Guilford Dudley in a
trickle ceremony with her sister
Catherine and her husband-to-be sister
her education was of the highest
standard and she was a very academic
young woman learning under the humanism
program of intellectual reform more
commonly known today as humanities such
as grammar rhetoric history poetry and
moral philosophy Lady Jane Grey would
reign for all of nine days from July the
10th to July the 19th 15:53 as a result
of Henry the eighth's third succession
act of 1540 for which allowed him to
alter succession by his will when
15-year old Edward the sixth lay dying
he named Lady Jane Grey his Protestant
first cousin once removed his successor
to the throne
although Lady Jane would be accused of
high treason by Mary the first when she
was proclaimed Queen as a result of
interference by the Holy Roman Emperor
Jane's life was spared sadly not for
very long as a result of a Protestant
rebellion by Thomas Wyatt the younger in
January 1550 for Jane's fate was sealed
along with her husband Guilford Dudley
she was executed on the morning of
February 12
