Why are you so impulsive?

I wanted

to hold the test secretly before.

Once you become the Saintess,

they will have nothing to say.

And our people can fight

together with you.

But…

But now you made a deal with them.

Have you thought about

what to do

if you really fail?

Grandpa.

There are many rumors in our clan.

Disunity

is much scarier than Xue God Clan.

The crisis can only be solved by

the unity and

struggle of the whole clan.

We shouldn’t hold the test secretly.

The best way to unite our people

is to do it publicly and succeed.

Luo Li,

you really have grown up.

The Great Ruler

Episode 31

Father.

Father!

Father!

Father!

Father!

Mubai.

Mubai.

Wake up.

Qian’er.

Qian’er.

Qian’er. Where are you?

I’m here.

I’m here.

Qian’er.

Mubai.

Sorry.

Sorry.

It’s okay.

Sorry.

It’s okay.

Sorry.

Everything will be all right.

Thank you.

Let me comb your hair.

Qian’er.

Sorry.

Yes.

You should be.

I end up like this

because of you.

Since you caused all this,

shouldn’t you

take the responsibility for me?

Qian’er.

Marry me.

Let me compensate you

with the rest of my life.

Silly man.

We’ve been engaged.

You’re already my husband.

But we haven’t had a wedding yet.

Luckily, someone told me

Qian’er turned up in Liu Territory.

Or we wouldn’t have found her.

Are you really not going to

take her home?

Even if you send men

to buy all her medicinal materials,

how much can she get?

Don’t you know her?

She would have come back if she wanted to.

Anyway,

I’m also responsible

for the destruction of the Liu Territory.

She doesn’t go home,

because she doesn’t want Mubai to be sad.

But…

she’s suffering!

I really feel…

Listen.

How happily Qian’er laughs!

All right.

Let’s go.

Let’s go.

From now on,

we’re an ordinary couple,

having nothing to do with the past.

In the future,

I’ll just live a peaceful life with you.

I want nothing else,

except that.

Mu Chen.

Look!

We’re almost there.

That’s the Land of Beasts,

where the Phoenix Heritage lies.

Why is it a forest?

Shouldn’t it be a grassland?

How do I know?

I didn’t name it.

It’s so big.

When can we find the Phoenix Heritage?

What a beautiful place!

Totally different from where we were.

In this place,

you must be very cautious.

What’s wrong?

What have you found?

Don’t you feel it?

We’ve been walking so long,

but not even a bird has flown by.

That’s really abnormal.

Let’s go.

Since we’ve come,

we must try, however dangerous it is.

My Lady?

My Lady, it’s been a while.

What brings you here?

My Lady.

With all due respect,

hearing that you’re back,

our leader sent me

to visit you

and get you back for a couple of days.

Please tell your leader

that we haven’t acquiesced in the marriage yet.

It’s too early

to call her My Lady.

Wait.

What do you mean?

Our Saintess

isn’t some girl he can marry as he wishes.

But…

Elders, please think carefully

about this.

We don’t need to.

On this,

they agree with me.

When they admit

they agree with you,

How dare you!

they really do!

So, elders.

Do you really agree with him?

That’s weird.

Saintess of your clan is so noble

and hard to get!

But everyone, do you know?

What did she do

after she left

Luo God Clan?

First,

we sent many envoys to her

to express our good wills.

But by now,

they’ve been killed or wounded.

No envoys are even killed in a war!

I’ll let go of it.

In Beiling,

the noble, adorable and generous Saintess

of your clan

pledged to marry Young Master of the Mu Territory,

Mu Chen,

without parental permission.

You don’t know?

I thought you all knew it.

What a responsible Saintess!

No wonder you prefer to be ruined

rather than marry her to our leader!

But Leader Luo,

the Xue God Clan

will never let the marriage

slip by!

See you.

Luo Li.

Did he mean it?

Qingya.

Calm down!

He was obviously

driving a wedge between us!

Don’t you know

what girl Luo Li is?

How could she

violate the prohibition deliberately?

In my opinion,

we should tell the whole clan about this,

so that they can judge.

Luo Li.

Can you explain to them?

No. No. No.

I don’t think it’s a good idea.

Our clansmen have been dispirited.

Xue God Clan cast a greedy eye on us.

If we tell them,

there’ll be great trouble.

Leader.

I think our priority

is to complete the Luo Offering.

Grandpa Qingya.

Please trust me.

I’m the Saintess of our clan.

I will fulfil my duty!

I can keep it secret for you.

But…

when the sacrifice ends,

you must explain to me.

Jiuyou.

What’s going on with you and Bai Tong?

Nothing.

Come on.

You flirted with each other.

And I saw that!

He confessed to me.

He did?

He said he liked me.

What did you say?

I didn’t agree to be with him.

Why?

Bai Tong is a good man!

You two make a good match.

But I don’t like him.

I can’t just force myself.

Jiuyou.

Love grows

when you stay together.

Give him a chance.

If a girl

you don’t like confesses to you,

will you agree?

We’re different.

I have the girl I like.

But you don’t have one.

Right?

No, I don’t.

Why does the mosquito only bite me,

instead of you?

You cheat!

This is the dovetail leaf.

It’s super toxic.

But…

it won’t harm anyone,

when its sac is removed.

Crush it

and apply it to your body.

No mosquitoes will bite you.

Mu Chen?

Bai Tong!

Why are you coming?

Didn’t I ask you not to come?

But I’m worried about you.

Did you see Mu Chen?

No. I just arrived.

Forget it.

Let’s go find him!

Go!

Qian’er.

You are?

I’m passing by.

The door is open.

So, I come to ask the way.

You asked the wrong guy.

I just moved here.

I don’t know the way.

Childe.

Do you know you have an incurable disease

and you’re dying?

You can’t

cure me?

No.

You’re affected by evil power.

I dare say that

no ordinary doctors can cure you.

But I can.

Mubai.

This is…

I’m a doctor,

travelling around the territories

and see patients.

You seem to be a doctor, too.

I just know some pharmacology.

Seems like you’re a couple.

Would you like me

to try to treat him?

Forget it.

Childe.

Do you want to think about it?

Weak as you are,

I’m afraid you can’t do any labor work.

That explains.

Look at the poor girl.

She’s young,

but already has white hair.

What’s going on?

If he once practiced,

this is a normal phenomenon.

When he becomes healthy again,

he gets his power back, too.

Childe.

Try your power.

Miss.

Go cook something.

He needs

to get more nutrition.

Okay.

I’ll go cook.

Who the hell are you?

It’s you?

Childe Liu.

Godfather wants you to work for us again.

The old me

died in White Horse City.

Right in front of you

is a loser away from the secular world.

Go find someone else.

Godfather values you.

If you continue to work for us,

I promise you’ll return to normal,

and even get better

as a real strong man.

I just want to be an ordinary guy.

I don’t want to

interfere with your business.

Childe Liu.

I’m not asking you.

You can refuse to leave with me.

You’ll just die.

But what about Miss Tang?

She’s so young.

Do you want her to die with you?

It’s between us.

Leave the outsider alone.

Outsider?

But she’s your wife.

She’s in.

Her life

is in your hands.

Either to come or stay,

make the decision.

Childe Liu.

What’s your decision?

Mubai.

I’m back.

I’ve made much money today.

Mubai.

My dear wife,

I was crippled

and lost all hope.

Now I’m recovered.

There are many things I haven’t completed.

I still want to try.

Marrying you in this place

is the best moment I’ve ever experienced.

I’m leaving.

Don’t miss me or look for me.

Mubai!

Mu Chen?

Mu Chen!

Mu Chen!

I asked you not to come!

Just take a rest here.

I’m fine.

Have some rest.

If you fall,

I have to take care of you.

I’m really fine.

Let’s continue.

We haven’t found the Phoenix Heritage yet.

But Mu Chen is lost.

This place is so big!

When can we find him?

Think about it.

Could Mu Chen be dead?

Don’t jinx it!

Say something positive!

No.

I don’t want him to die.

I mean, if he was caught by

the Evil Deity’s men,

he would not live.

I’m connected with Mu Chen

and we live and die together.

If he dies,

I’ll die, too.

But…

I won’t let him die.

That explains.

The fake Mu Ling went for you,

because he wanted to kill Mu Chen.

We must find him!

I don’t want you to be hurt!

Don’t worry.

Mu Chen will not easily get killed.

But look at you!

I’m afraid you’ll fall and die.

Are you hungry?

I’ll go get you something to eat.

I’m not hungry.

Stay here.

I’ll be right back.

Childe Liu.

Why are you walking so fast?

Maybe Miss Tang has gone back home

after reading the letter.

She won’t come after you.

Mubai.

Mubai.

Why are you leaving?

Don’t you even turn around

and look at me?

Childe Liu.

How merciless you are!

You just abandon

your newly-married wife?

Shut up!

Why do you come?

Didn’t I ask you to go back home?

Mubai.

Didn’t we make a deal?

We promised to

be an ordinary couple

and live a peaceful life.

Didn’t you say

you would never leave me again?

I explained clearly in the letter.

I want to say no more.

Go.

I’m your wife.

Wherever you go,

I go with you.

Tang Qian’er.

Don’t you understand?

I’ve been using you!

I promised to live a peaceful life with you,

just because I was crippled

who must be looked after.

Now I’m recovered.

I don’t need you anymore.

Understood?

I don’t believe that.

You won’t do that.

How silly you are!

I no longer loved you!

Don’t bother me again.

Brother!

Brother.

Luo Li fell in love with a human

and killed the envoys.

That was getting around in our clan.

Clansmen are burning with rage,

asking for an explanation.

I think

Luo Qingya and his men must be behind it.

Shall we catch them

and deal with them?

Tianlong.

Don't act on impulse.

The priority

is to calm them down.

Leader!

Clansmen are objecting greatly.

Why don’t we

give Luo Li to them?

Elders.

Didn’t we agree to keep it secret

and discuss about it

after the sacrifice?

I didn’t tell anyone about it.

How dare you deny!

We didn’t say anything.

You didn’t?

But only the four of us knew it.

Are you suspecting me?

Elder Long.

We’re not

the only four who knew it.

Xue God Clan may also disperse the rumor

to disturb us.

There’s no use in discussing it.

People knew about it.

We have to explain.

Elder Qingya.

How do you want me to explain?

Go to the altar

and make a vow

in front of all clansmen,

that you’ve never gone against our rules

or violate the prohibition.

Elder Qingya.

In the past days,

I’ve been staying with her.

I can testify for her.

You’re a mere guard.

How dare you talk!

Li Xuantong is my sworn brother.

Why can’t he talk?

Saintess!

Okay.

Leave this alone.

Don’t avoid the question.

Just go to the altar and swear.

Do you dare?

Leader!

Leader!

Xue Lingzi besieged Luo City

with his troops.

What?

He said

he wanted to discuss with you

about the marriage with Saintess.

How dare he!

Discuss with troops?

He’s obviously threatening us!

Brother.

What should we do?

I’ll go talk with him.

Leader.

Xue Lingzi is always rude.

What if he detains you?

If I don’t go,

he will attack us immediately.

When I go, I can stall for time.

Get ready for fight soon.

Grandpa.

Don’t go!

Don’t try to stop me.

Tianlong.

Keep an eye on her.

Don’t let her do anything stupid.

Brother, don’t…

I’m the leader.

Listen to me.

Luo Tianhe.

We hold different political views.

But…

you’re so responsible!

I admire you!

I’ll go with you.

Okay.

Grandpa!

Luo Li!

Stay right here!

If…

If anything goes wrong,

take the order from Grandpa Tianlong.

Don’t worry, Brother.

I’ll take good care of Luo Li.

Thank you then.

Let’s go.

Found nothing, huh?

Since I entered this forest,

I have seen nothing,

but worms.

You’re right.

Look!

Do you want me to eat this?

I’ve found a lot.

Have a try.

No!

Don’t you fear it’s poisonous?

It’s not.

It’s the larva of moth.

It’s tasty.

Have a try.

No, thanks.

You’re a bird.

You can eat worms.

But I’m a human.

Forget it.

It’s also meat!

No. I’ll just...

Forget it.

I’m not hungry.

You’re too weak.

Good boy.

Take one.

I’m really not hungry!

Eat it!

Even if I do,

I have to roast it.

It’s done.

Have a try.

Why do I think

you don’t care if I’m hungry?

You just want me to eat worms.

I don’t deny that.

How does it taste?

Not bad.

Why do you look depressed?

I saw black leaf trees

over there.

The sap could be delicious.

I’ll go get some for you.

Dovetail leaf?

Why does the mosquito only bite me,

instead of you?

Crush it and apply it to your skin.

No mosquitoes will bite you.

Before Mu Che disappeared,

I found one,

to expel the mosquitoes for him.

Exactly this one!

Are you sure?

Is it so rare to find one?

I marked it.

It can’t be wrong.

The environment may change.

But magic plants won’t.

It’s just camouflage.

But…

I don’t feel it’s illusion.

You don’t know Land of Beasts.

Such powerless plants

can always be removed.

But magic plants can’t.

They won’t be influenced.

In this way,

the trees around us

have been manipulated.

Maybe that’s how Mu Chen was taken away.

But it’s weird.

Why do they make us run circles

instead of killing us?

I think

they’re too busy dealing with Mu Chen

to handle us.

Jiuyou.

You’re a magic beast.

Can you tell the direction in the forest?

I can find the direction

even with my eyes closed

in an ordinary forest.

But this one

is far too weird.

If I hadn’t marked the plant,

I wouldn’t have realized

what we were suffering.

We have to mark the magic plants, then.

We must find the one behind it

as soon as possible.

How is it going?

I’m done with the city defense.

My trusted followers will defend it.

By the way,

is my brother back?

Not yet.

It’s getting dark.

Could he be really…

He isn’t back yet?

Wait here for me.

I’m going to find him.

Grandpa Tianlong.

We’re in an emergency.

And we know nothing useful.

If we act on impulse,

there’ll be consequences.

Why don’t we just wait?

Luo Li!

Brother.

Luo Li.

Go!

Your grandpa and Elder Qingya

are locked up by Xue Lingzi.

But he wants you!

Go, or it’ll be too late.

How did that happen?

I’m going to save my grandpa!

No way.

You’ll be biting the hook.

Listen to me.

Go to North Sect for help.

We’ll try to defend here.

Grandpa is in danger.

How could I leave

at this moment?

Elders.

Help to persuade her!

Grandpa Tianlong.

Don’t try to persuade me!

I’m going to save my grandpa.

Okay.

I know I can’t stop you.

But you know what?

I will go with you!

Luo Li!

Brother.

I’ve made up my mind.

Forget it.

I know I can’t stop you.

I’ll go with you, too.

Grandpa Tianlong.

Brother.

I’ll going to meet Xue Lingzi,

pretending to agree with him

to let down his guard.

You can sneak into the camp

and save Grandpa and Grandpa Qingya.

No way.

That’s too risky!

Time is running out.

The simplest way will work best.

When you save them,

there’ll be chaos.

I can easily run away in the chaos.

But…

Xuantong.

Don’t worry.

I promised my brother

to keep Luo Li safe.

Uncle Xiu.

Stay here for the command.

Okay.

Let’s go.

Where’s my grandpa?

He’s very fine.

Don’t worry.

Luo Li.

You know what I want.

As long as you agree,

I’m pulling out right away.

And I’ll give back everything

that I’ve taken away

from your clan.

It’s okay.

But let go of my grandpa and Grandpa Qingya first.

Luo Li.

I have true love for you.

But you always want to lie to me.

Grandpa Tianlong?

Why are you…

Luo Li.

Surrender yourself.

Don’t force me.

Luo Li.

You really hurt my heart.

What have you done to Li Xuantong?

Brother!

Sorry, Luo Li.

Luo Tianlong attacked me sneakily.

But I trusted you!

Do you still want to fight?

Luo Li.

It’s your luck when he wants to marry you.

Why do you refuse?

Think about your grandpa.

And look at your sworn brother.

Don’t be stupid!

Don’t listen to them!

Go!

Let go of my grandpa.

And let go of Li Xuantong.

I’ll marry you.
