General! General!

General, you must assemble the league right away.

Sa Bugu has begun moving the displaced citizens!

Smuggling them out undetected by Xue Rengui won`t be easy. Sa Bugu will do it methodically over several day`s

Then the slave traders may not pay him tonight.

That`s right.

But we have to be prepared for every possible scenario. Alert my father.

The trade may take place any day, so the troops must be in ready position.

Got it.

Things would be so much easier if we knew Sa Bugu was getting paid.

But there is no way of finding that out at this point.

I`ll see what I can do.

You?

(Andong Protectorate, Liaodong Fort)

Sire! Sire!

-We`re back. -How did it go?

-Did you move the prisoners without incident? -Yes, sire.

You know you can count on me. All is well. (Sa Bugu)

When can you have all of them delivered by? (Bu Kiwon)

-I can be done by the 15th of this minth. -How about the payment?

Did they agree to pay in one lump sum as we requested?

Yes, of course. They gave me thier word.

Good, very good.

As soon as we have the money, we will leave this detestable place.

Do we have a contact in Tang court to negotiate a government post?

Don`t worry.

Buying governor-general position in the countryside shouldn`t be hard to do.

Was there anything suspicious when you were relocating the prisoners? (Shin Sung)

What do you mean?

Dongmyoungchun League has been much too quiet lately.

If they should...

You think they`re after us?

They know us, but we know nothing about them.

We can`tbe too careful, so take extra guards when you take delivery of the payment.

Don`t worry about that. You just keep an eye on General Xue.

If he ever found out about this, everything will go up in smoke!

General Sa is right.

Keep your eyes on the protectorate until this deal is wrapped up.

Yes, sir.

Okay, that`s good.

Hongpei, what are you talking about? Sa Bugu is acting suspicious?

I don`t know what he`s up to, but he`s been making too many trips outside the city.

He`s a busy man. He`s not a lazy bum like you. (Gumlan) (Xue Rengui)

Between capturing the Goguryeoans and investigating Dongmyoungchun Leagu, he`s got no time for anything else.

I may not look loke I`m working but I`m watching everything. (Hongpei)

I assure you.

General Sa Bugu is up to samething

If you have time to follow Sa Bugu around, go find Dongmyoungchun League.

I have a nose for these things, sir.

Oh, you`re giving me a headache. Leave us. Get out of here!

Well...then rest, sir.

What the....

Dae Joyoung could reappear any moment and here he is talking about Sa Bugu!

Yes, yes...

You`re the best Geumlan! Oh, that feels good.....

Sa Bugu will deliver the last of the displaced citizens on the 15th.

-Are you sure? -Yes, I`m sure.

I will be acting as a broker in the deal.

It`s dangerous to get so deeply involved in their deal.

But the risk will be worth it. i got my back covered, (Mimosa)

so you don`t have to worry.

Very well. I`m counting on you.

-General Dae Jungsang is here. -My father?

He is at our brewery outside the city.

You should go see him now.

-Father! -There you are.

General.

-I`m sory we weren`t here to greet you. -No, you`re risking your lives here.

I heard you brought five hundred men.

They`re standing by in the hills nearby with Mu Yeom.

The slave traders have one thousand guards under their command but they are not trained soldiers like our men.

Don`t worry about the rescuing the displace citizens. Have you devised a plan to eliminate Sa Bugu (Dae Jungsang:Dae Joyoung`s Father)

-and seize the gold? -Yes, Father.

they moved their base out of the city making our work easier.

Once Sa Bugu is captured and we have the gold. (Gulsabiwu) (Heuk Sudol)

we will execute Sa Bugu in the middle of the city plaza.

A public execution?

-Won`t that be too dangerous? -Don`t worry.

We can`t give the traitor a quiet death if only to deliver retribution to the people for their suffering.

Once Sa Bugu is executed, we will move quickly and finish off the rest of the traitors

including Shin Sung and Bu Kiwon.

I trust you will do what`s best.

Move it! Move it!

Where are you taking us?

Are you going to kill us? Tell us where we`re going!

Wench!

Who said you could open your mouth?

Answer my question!

-Where are you takibg us? -How dare you!

I made it loud and clear.

You are not to question anything or open your mouth!

-Just walk like the living dead! -That bloody bastard! I want to kill him right now!

Be patient.

He`ll die soon enough.

Walk! Walk, I said!

-General-- -What did you find out?

What? Sa Bugu took the troops out again?

I`ll goto the gate myself.

I`m going to find out for myself what he`s up to.

Let`s go! -Yes, sir!

Hongpei is on to us?

I`m afraid so.

We must alert General Sa bugu right away.

Yes, I just sent a messenger.

What in the world! We`ve got work to do,

and Hongpei of all people are getting in our way!

He couldn`t know all the details yet.

We will be all right if we can just get through this.

Stamp your seal here to confirm receipt of the slaves.

General Sa Bugu has delivered the slaves as promised.

And now for the payment.

They are real.

How much in all?

You`ll find 5,000 gold and 5,000 silver billions in the wagon outside.

You should go out and count them.

No, that would take all night. You can`t do business without trust and I trust men.

Then sign your name here to confirm receipt of payment.

Sure.

If all is well in three days, I will destroy this document. Please understand this is your first deal, and this is basic precaution.

-We are done here, gentlement. -It`s been a pleasure.

Hope you will make good profit selling these slaves.

Thank you.

I should be leaving now.

General, you should return to the city as well.

We`ll go together.

General!

General, a messenger from Shin Sung, sir.

A message?

What? Honpei?

What`s wrong?

Hongpei is on to us!

I will have to have someone else take the wagon through the gate.

Dam it. Hongpei of all people!

What are you waiting for? Take the slaves and clear out of here!

Yes, of course. Well them....

Let`s go.

Find Sa Bugu!

-Where is Sa Bugu? -I don`t know.

Joyoung Sa Bugu isn`t here!

But that can`t be! Check the dead!

Check the wagons, Now!

General!

General,You must clear out right now. The gate guards are coming this way.

But we don`t have Sa Bugu yet.

General Dae Jungsang`s rescue operation could be compromised if you`re seen.

Fine.

Leave no trace behine and clear out at once.

-Clean up thoroughly and move out! -Get the wagons!

I could`ve been caotured if it weren`t for your warning.

I`m just glad everything is alright.

Where is the gold you sent ahead of you?

My men must be taking a detour to avoid being seen. They will be here shortly.

Good work.

Have you found someone who will help us once we are in Tang?

I got in contact with a man named Zhou Wenhui. He has the Emperor`s trust and he apparently loves money.

Everything is falling into place one by one.

General!

The slave traders have been massacred!

What do you mean?

They were massacred by whom?

We don`t know their identity.

How about the slaves?

-What happened to all of the Goguryeoan prisoners? -I`m afraid they were all taken.

Taken?

The slave traders were massacred and the slaves were taken?

Yes, sir.

But you said the slave traders has one thousand soldiers! Are you saying all one thousand of them are dead?

That can`t be!

There is no anti-Tang organization capable of doing this!

how about the payment? Where is our money?

It`s...It`s vanished.

Vanished?

All that gold and silver has vanished?

It`s Dongmyoungchun League.

It has to be!

-I want you to find out exactly what`s happened. Now! -Yes, sir. Come!

If Xue Rengui ever found out sbout this...

There will be hell to pay.

I thought Dongmyounchu League was a small fry!

Now what?

How are we ever going to a mass that kind of fotune again?

I have no excuse to offer...

Keeping your mouth shut isn`t going to solve anything!

about this is our top priority.

And you must replace the Goguryeoan prisoners you sold.

I will.

I will do whatever it takes to recapture every last one of them!

I can`t believe this is happening!

-Welcome general. -Where is His Majesty?

-He awaits you inside. -This way!

Your Majesty,

-My men and I bid you humble greetings. -we bid you greetings, Your Majesty.

Thank you. Thank you for being alive and well! (King Bojang:28th King of Goguryeo)

What happened to the doisplaced citizens?

-They were released to resume their free lives. -Good.

How about the seized gold?

-It`s hidden in the brewery. -I heard it is a huge forune.

It is the blood and sweat of our proplr. It must be returned to the people.

Absolutely.

My people are suffering extreme poverty. Children and elders will be dying of starvation unless we intervene.

We will begin distributing the gold to the people right aeay.

Be careful.

This cold prove to be the most dangerous work yet for the league.

Yes, Father.

Your Majesty, our plan to eliminate Sa Bugu has failed.

It was beyond your control. We will get another chance.

(Khitan Settlement, Yingzhou)

The lady is healthy.

-The baby is..... -What`s wrong?

is there something wrong with the baby?

Congratulations.

According to the mother`s pulse it`s a boy.

-What? A boy? -Yes, I`m certain of it.

A boy...It`s a boy!

General,

-The Khan wants you. -Alright.

-Who in heaven`s name rescued all of those Goguryeoans? -There`re rumors about them,

-but their identities have not been revealed. -What`s the rumor?

According to the travel merchants, it`s Dongmyoungchun League.

If that rumor is true,

This league is not a group of mercenaries. They are well trained soldiers. (Sun Wanrong:Li Jinzhong`s son in law)

I wonder who is leading this Dongmyoungchun League... (Li Jinzhong:Khitan tribe leader)

You mean they knew about our plans in advance?

How else could they attack the slave traders and rescue ten thousand slaves?

You`re right.

They could n`t have pulled this off without meticulous preparations. (Bu Kiwon)

But no one knew about this deal except us and the slave traders. (Sa Bugu)

That`s not true. Mi mosa of Tsui Sing lau knew everything. (Shin Sung)

Then...Mimosa?

If Dongmyoungchun League knew about our plan, Mi mosa has to be the leak.

-But he`s the one who put this deal together. -That`s why it`s even more suspicious.

-Mimosa was behind this whole thing from the start... -Mimosa?

You mean he`s the leader of Dongmyoungchun League?

I can`t say with certainty that he`s not.

Come to think of it,

when he hooked me up with the slave merchants...

What bring`s you, general?

-We`re trying to expose Dongmyoungchun League. -And you think I am a part of this league?

If you don`t cooperate, there will be serious consequences.

May I speak to you alone?

There are men here who wish to see you.

What are you talking about? Who wants to see me?

Slave traders from Tang.

You asked me the other day if I could hook you uo.

-How many are there? -Six very wealthy merchant barons.

If you play this well, you`ll be a rich man in no time.

Please call your men off. I have to make a living, too.

Mimosa that scheming bastard!

We must put everything back the way it was before General Xue finds out.

Dongmyounchun League must be found and destroyed if only for that reason.

I`m going to Tsui Sing right now.

This might be our chance to destroy these bastards once and for all.

I`ve asked the others to leave for a reason.

What did you wish to discuss, Your Majesty?

How do you feel about tying the knot of marriage between my niece and your son?

Your Majesty...! What...do you mean? (Lady Sukyoung:King Bojang`s niece)

You always said you would marry the greatest hero of Goguryeo since you were a child.

Are you displeased with General Dae?

No, it`s not that But...

If they don`t disapprove. I would like to marry them as soon as time allows.

What do you think?

This is so sudden... and so much above us...

Goguryeo doesn`t have a royal house anymore. If this marriage is consummated,

it will not be a union of two clans but a humble union of two individuals.

Joyoung,

it is indeed time for you to find a companion. How do you feel about this?

I am honored and grateful, but I have decided long ago to live my life alone.

Kive your life alone?

We were meant to live in pairs. Why do you wish to defy the law of nature?

No one knows how long it will take to reclaim Goguryeo.

If I am to wed,

-my companion will live a life of loneliness and fear. -I understand where you`re coming from.

But Sukyoung is more than capable of enduring such life.

-I am sorry, Your Majesty. -My man...

Your Majesty!

Your Majesty, we have a problem. Sa Bugu is here with his men!

What do you mean? What does he want?

I think he`s on to us. He`s serching the entire building!

It`s too dangerous here. We have to get you to a hiding place.

Out of the way! Out of the way!

-Search thoroughly! -Aye, sir!

They`re not here.

-Search every inch of the grounds! -Aye!

What is the meaning of this?

Out of the way. I`m conducting official business!

This is a gisaeng house.

What official business could you possible have here?

Wench!

In Liaodong Fort, Sa Bugu`s word are heaven`s decree.

How dare you get in my way, you little whore!

You are out of line! Please leave!

What did you say?

I smell a rate in the guest wing. Search the inside quarters!

Sa Bugu that bastard! I`m going to kill him right now!

If you go out there, the league will be exposed!

-Where is Mimosa? -I saw him leaving a while ago.

I should do smething.

Stay here. I`ll see what I can do.

Your Majesty!

Your Majesty!

General Sa Bugu! What brings you here?

That`s the question I want to ask. Why are you here, King Joseon?

Why am I here? I come to Tsui Sing Lau for the drinks,

and I come to the guest wing for women.

You have it good.

-Join me for a drink since you`re here. -I`m here...

because I have reason to believe Dongmyoungchun League is here.

What? Dongmyoungchun League?

Have you seen anything suspicious?

I`m here instead of the governor`s office because I`m afraid of them!

They must be after me!

-Oh no, we better get out of here! -Whoa, whoa!

-They won`t waste their time and energy on you. -What do you mean?

Why would they kill a man who`s already as useless as a dead man?

They won`t harm you, so go back to your party.

Oh, you think so?

Now step aside.

-I must search the room inside. -No, please don`t.

The truth is,

my mistress is sleeping in there.

And there are so many of you... Please don`t go in there.

I beg of you, General Sa Bugu.

I`m relieved to know you still have a sense of shame. But it has nothing to do with me, so step aside!

What are you waiting for? Search the room!

-No! -General! General Sa Bugu!

-You must get back immediately. -What is it?

Mimosa is at the protectorate to meet with General Xue!

Mimosa? Why?

He knows everything about our deal with the slaves traders. I don`t know what he`s up to, so I rushed here to get you.

Mimosa.. that bastard!

We must get back at once! Clear out!

What is this?

-It`s a thousand year old wild ginseng. -Huh? Wild ginseng?

It`s a miracle herb known to bring dead men back to life.

Oh, you shouldn`t have!

So how is business lately?

Actually, that is why I am here. (Mimosa)

Why? Is there a problem? (Xue Rengui)

General Sa bugu has been raiding Tsui Sing Lau at his whim and turning my place of business upside down.

-What? Again? -General, it`s Sa Bugu.

speak of the devil...

Enter.

Why did you raid Tsui Sing Lau again? I told you not to disturb their business.

I was compelled to conduct a search on account of suspicious report.

A suspicious report? What is this suspicious report?

Well...

I would guess it is because of the slave traders.

Slave traders? What`s this?

A group of Tang slave traders stayed with us at Tsui Sing Lau not long ago.

It`s rumored that a high official of the protectorate is in contact with them.

Speak plainly.

Who are these slave traders and what do you mean they are in contact?

Well..

We had a tip that the slave traders are trying to buy the Goguryeoans.

Buy the Goguryeoans.

Those prisoners are property belonging to the Imperial house of Tang! Who dare try to buy or sell them?

My search of Tsui Sing Lau proves the tip false.

Oh?

Yes, general.

We will not be disturbing Tsui Sing Lau again.

I guess he had no choice this time. It will not happen again, so relax and go back to your business.

Thank you,general.

-You have some guts. -Tsui Sing Lau is my lifeline.

-Did you think I would stand by when you`re trying to cut off my lifeline? -Shut up!

Don`t think I don`t know.

You are somehow connected to Dongmyoungchun League. And if I`m right.

Tsui Sing Lau is the league`s headquarters!

You`re free to think whatever you`d like. But your thoughts better stop in your head.

If you try to harm Tsui Sing Lau in anyway, I will not be idle.

What are you going to do? Have the Dongmyoungchun league kill me?

Have you forgotten about the document you and the slave traders both signed?

If all is well in three days, I will destroy this document.

I have proof that you sold the Goguryeoan prisoners as slaves.

If worse come to worse. I can simply close down my business,

but you will have to surrender your head for your crime.

I must get back now. But I am flattered that

you think that a humble business man like me could be the leader of Dongmyoungchun League.

That bastard has been playing me all along! Mimosa that bastard!

Mimosa is not just a business man.

I`m certain he is connected to the Dongmyoungchun League.

I think so as well.

But he`s blackmailing us and we`re helpless.

But we can`t play into this.

If we can expose and destroy the Dongmyoungchun League, slave trafficking charges will be nothing.

But if we start this and can`t wrap it up, we are done for.

We just have to be very carful.

Don`t worry, sire. I got them in my sight, and they are doomed.

Dongmyoungchun League.... Tsui Sing Lau....

Good work.

-I didn`t know you had taken such precaution. -But this doesn`t mean Sa bugu

has completely dismissed his suspicion.

Give us your orders and we will kill Sa Bugu right now.

It may do us more harm than good if he is killed while Tsui Sing Lau is under suspicion.

That`s right. Bersides, he is not an easy mark with all those guards around him.

Keep watching for an opportune time to eliminate him. Meanwhile, we will distribute the gold we snatched from Sa Bugu.

I can`t bear to watch the people in hunger and distress anymore.

-Help us! -My children are starving!

kEEP MOVING!

Your Majesty!

-Did you hear the news? The news?

Homes in slums were visited by theives last night.

-Thieves? -Yes,

but these thieves broke into each houses and left gold and silver. (Yeon Namseng:Yeon Gaesomun`s oldest son)

Really?

-These thieves helped the impoverished? (King Bojang:28th King Of Goguryeo)

Yes.

I`m told every chimney in the village was smoking this morning from the rice being made.

Who could have done such a chantable work in such a troublous time?

the rumors among the people is that it`s Dongmyoungchun League.

Dongmyoungchun League?

Those outlaws are now playing chicalrous thieves?

I`m fascinated by them.

They appear out of nowhere killing aicked Tang officials and now they are bringing relief to the poor.

How can you defend these people? We are on their hit list as well!

Be that as it may,

they are the only hope now for the people on this land.

You`ll see.

I will join hands with them once this protectorate is mine and reclaim Goguryeo.

I don`t know anything anymore.

All I know is that I`m terrified of them and I can`t sleep at night.

Your Majesty, why are we here?

We are here to protect the people of Liaodong. You`re the King of Joseon

who`s supposed to love and care for the people.

You can be the King of Joseon instead Lord Yeon.

I just want to live my life in peace and enjoy the time I have.

-What did you find out? -There`s no mistake.

They`re giving away what they stole from us!

I don`t believe this!

We did all of this work and to benefit whom?

That`s the least of our problems right now.

I`m sure General Xue has heard the rumor by now.

If he becomes suspicious and conducts an investigation, we are finished.

Could this get any worse? What next?

The answer is simple.

All we have to do is take back the gold.

What do you mean? Take from the people what Dongmyoungchun League has handed out?

It`s ours to begin with. I will send out my men right now.

But what if general Xue finds out what you`re doing?

Then I will surrender all that I`ve collected to the protectorate.

General Xue won`t be displeased if I tell him it will be used to suppress the anti-Tang movement.

That is a good idea. Get on it right away.

-Are you there, Dohyeop? -Yes, sir!

We`ve got work to do. Arm the troops at once!

Yes, sir!

-General, Princess Sukyoung is here. -Princess Sukyoung?

What brings you, Your Highness?

I witnessed a disturbing event at the plaza and came here directly.

A disturbing event?

Sa Bugu is on a wild rampage with his men.

What do you mean?

He is taking the gold you gave to the poor and tearing up the villages.

-You bastards! -You must have a death wish!

Move it! Move it!

Surrender the gold you got from Dongmyoungchun League and you won`t be held accountable for your crimes.

But if you try to hide it and it is found in your possession, you will die without mercy!

Assemble the League.

Then?

I`ve had enough of his barbarity. Sa Bugu will die right now!

General, we have recouped just about all we had.

Let`s clear out!

-Get out of the way when I ask nicely. -Children are dying.

-Please don`t take the gold from us. They are our lifeline, sire.

-Please give them back to us. -Please have mercy on us, sire!

Those who sustain life with help from Dongmyoungchun League are part of Dongmyoungchun League.

If you don`t want to be punished by death, get out of my way.

Wheather I`m beaten to death or starved to death, it makes no difference.

You may kill us, but we will not let you do this!

Get out of my way, I said.

Leave the wagon here. Or we are not taking one step from here!

Elder! Elder!

Who`s next?

I`ll send you straight to hell!

Who? Who?

No one among you has the guts to contend with me? Anyone stands in my way will meet their maker!

I am the messenger of death in this country! Get out of my way!

If you`re so hungry, reveal the Dongmyoungchun League.

You will eat like a king for the rest of your life.

Let`s go!

General, over there!

Who dare stands in my way?
