He specializes in high-risk pregnancies.

the baby will be born with an abnormality.

Dr. Chang can run a test called a CVS.

- How about one of those amnio things?

- Well, CVS can be done earlier

so there's more time to make decisions.

I suppose I should ask you

if you and John want this child.

- John.

We never talked about it.

As a matter of fact, we never
really even thought about it.

- I'm gonna set up the
appointment with Dr. Chang,

- That'll be fine.

This isn't vacation for me.

- It's rare, but with changes in attitude

towards health and better
medical care, it happens.

But there are still many things

that could go wrong for the
fetus as well as yourself.

- Such as?

- For Margaret, there is a chance

of developing high blood pressure

and blood sugar problems.

Having a miscarriage or
going into premature labor

are definite concerns.

If you decide to take
this pregnancy to term,

your heart and lungs will be monitored

and you will require more
frequent office visits.

- I understand.

- And if you decide to
terminate the pregnancy,

that should be done during
the first trimester.

You have a few weeks.

- Right.

We are nearing the end of the trimester.
