Didn't you say to come at 8:00 a.m.?

Why are you so early?

You're early too.

By the way,

I made a plan based on your schedule.

It's here.

We can proceed according to this.

From Monday to Friday, I'm free at 10:00 p.m.

You can rearrange it.

Okay. I'll give it to you after I'm done.

Don't worry.

We can submit all competition materials before the end of the semester.

It won't affect finals.

When reviewing, take note of a few metabolic processes.

Photosynthesis and nitrogen fixation won't be on the exam.

Okay, prepare well for the final exam.

Class dismissed.

Wait, everyone.

I have something to say.

We've partnered with the Qingyi Nature Conservancy

to organize a fundraiser.

Here's the donation intent form.

Let's do our part for nature.

Check the box

and sign.

Donations will be collected…

Zheng Yu, you haven't filled it out yet.

Class monitor, can't you tell?

There's no way she will donate.

Really, it's the rest of us who should be donating to her!

What?

You said you should donate to me.

Don't just talk.

Crazy.

Class monitor.

I'll donate extra for Zheng Yu.

Thank you.

Help pass these out.

You're so good to her.

- Plus mine. - Mine too.

DONATION FORM

You wimped out.

She's a crazy…

Sorry.

You just watch.

I'll teach her a lesson sooner or later.

What?

For the final exam, you must skate five times.

You must demonstrate all four moves that you've learned.

The forward cross, the backward cross,

the fish, and the snake.

For the last move, it's freestyle.

Is that clear?

- Yes. - Yes.

We'll use the same groups as before.

First group, get ready.

Next group.

It's our turn.

Let's go.

All right.

Get going.

Let me see.

So what's the score?

Let me see.

I want to see. I'm curious.

How did you do?

There's a crowd. We got told to leave.

He says he will announce it with the overall results.

You improved fast.

Thanks for the tip.

I shouldn't have told you.

As expected of the number one, everything comes easy for you.

Not that easily, actually.

Look.

I secretly put in the effort.

Don't tell anyone.

I've submitted the competition materials.

Okay.

I've been meaning to ask. Why do you work so hard?

You come to the campus so early and leave so late.

You spend weekends in the lab or the library.

You don't seem to lack anything.

Why choose such a difficult way?

What do you think?

Because you don't want to lose to your top scholar brother.

I watched an interview video of Zhou Guanqi online.

You happened to be in it.

If I had such an incredible brother,

I would be under a lot of pressure.

Zheng Yu.

Don't assume that a few conversations and a few meetings

make us close friends.

Don't you think that is a personal question?

Only one person gets the award.

Our rollerblade class grades are close.

Rather than asking about these things,

you're better off studying.

Those bright moments

always appear so indistinct.

Only at the moment of being hurt

does a relationship feel real.

I have yet to understand that a person arrives

with all their yesterdays behind them.

LIYUAN BUILDING 9

QINGYI'S TOP SCHOLAR

ZHOU GUANQI INTERVIEW

Right, there's also that post.

DOES ANYONE KNOW WHAT QINGYI'S TOP SCHOLAR SIX YEARS AGO, ZHOU GUANQI, IS DOING NOW?

Zhou Guanqi passed away long ago.

How did he die?

NANSHAN BOTANICAL GARDEN

Hey.

Ms. Zhou, when will you be here?

Yanzhou has been waiting here for nearly an hour.

I've been so busy that I forgot.

Is Yanzhou next to you?

Put him on the phone.

It's Ms. Zhou.

Yanzhou, the weather is terrible.

The forecast predicts strong winds later.

Will your school field trip be canceled?

Are you still going?

Why don't I call the school?

- Let's not go. - All right.

Okay, let's do that.

Stay with your brother.

But don't bother him. It's a critical period for him.

Ms. Zhou, you…

I already called a cab. It will be here soon.

Yanzhou.

I'll go with you.

ZHOU GUANQI PASSED AWAY LONG AGO.

CHEN YANZHOU

Are you studying at home for the next few days?

Don't lock it.

Have you seen a kid's watch?

Someone found it. It's in the box on the counter.

Zheng Yu.

What is it?

Before locking up today, did you check the shelf items?

I did.

Here's a heads-up.

I saw on the news today

that someone is buying expired items

when the salesclerks aren't paying attention.

Then they file a complaint at the Industrial and Commercial Bureau.

The fine is tenfold then.

That will never happen at our store, right?

Of course not.

I'm so sleepy.

How are you doing?

I still have so much to memorize.

Last-minute cramming is better than not cramming at all.

Unlike the top students.

They have their own challenges.

I heard them say

that the Vitality Award will likely go to Chen Yanzhou.

Is that the guy who wouldn't even give me a bottle of water?

Zheng Yu should win instead.

Dropped the grudge?

MICROBIOLOGY CLOSED-BOOK EXAM, 90 MINUTES ALLOTTED

Finally.

After the immunology exam, I can go home.

EXAM SCHEDULE, IMMUNOLOGY

RICE BALL

YOUR TEAM ADVANCED TO THE EXCELLENCE CUP FINALS

Fifteen minutes left until the exam is over.

Students, please make use of your time.

Double-check your class,

name, and student ID number.

Sir.

Someone is cheating.

It's not mine.

Someone tossed it onto my desk.

Who tossed it?

Nobody is saying anything?

Fine. Continue with the exam.

I will report this and retrieve CCTV footage.

What happened?

Did he really cheat?

He was caught red-handed but denied it.

I can't believe it.

I had finished already. I just…

It was from the rear left.

I'm not sure

from how far away.

Don't worry.

We will find out.

Give your parents my best.

Okay.

Bye.

Zheng Yu, come.

Here. This is yours, right?

I cleaned the fridge today.

I opened it and looked.

Your rice balls are all expired.

Eating those will give you an upset stomach.

Throw them away. You haven't eaten them, have you?

No.

Thank goodness.

Okay.

CURRY CHICKEN RICE BALL

I don't know when that grain of rice from the rice ball landed on my sleeve.

It seemed to be reminding me

that the harder you push through life,

the more life assumes you can take on.

I stretch everything to its limit.

- Xiaozheng, why are you taking so long? - Meals.

- Sleep. Energy. - Are you not feeling well?

As a result, on the one day I couldn't afford to lose,

I lost to myself.

I'm going to the nursing station.

I'll bring back food for you while I'm at it.

HOUDE HALL

Miss, you wanted to see me?

Take this.

Fill it out and return it.

This is for verifying low-income students next semester.

Make sure to write down any changes to your family and economic situation.

Don't go yet. One more thing.

This is the seating chart on the day of the immunology exam.

You sat near Chen Yanzhou.

The exam was almost over at the time.

Did you see anyone toss the paper ball to him?

I didn't notice.

Then during the exam,

did you notice anything unusual about him?

No.

Has it not been cleared up yet?

One of the cameras was down.

The other one didn't have anything useful.

They were right in the blind spot.

I asked every person.

After questioning for days, we haven't gotten anywhere.

FALL SEMESTER 2024 EXAM SEATING CHART

What's going on?

Didn't we agree not to release the immunology exam scores?

Why are even the overall rankings out too?

So much time has passed.

Many students are asking for their grades.

You question the validity of the scores, but you haven't filed a report.

I'm merely releasing it according to procedure.

You can go. I'm busy.

If you recall something, tell me right away.

The GPA rankings are out.

His score wasn't invalidated.

HE DENIED CHEATING

Zheng Yu was supposed to be number one.

What happened? What did I miss?

Done with final exams?

I'm waiting for you to send money.

I would love for this to happen.

Congratulations, Zheng Yu.

Didn't you see the college's notice?

The overall rankings were retracted.

If Chen Yanzhou's cheating is confirmed,

you will probably get the award.

Why haven't you gone home yet?

We got into the cup finals.

I want to stay to revise my thesis before going home.

The thesis defense is after the break. Time is tight.

Many people in our major got in. Didn't you sign up?

CHEN YANZHOU

Did we get into the finals?

Yes.

I'm already refining the thesis.

Where are you?

I'll come find you now.

Why didn't you tell me about the finals?

I haven't seen you around. I thought you had left already.

There's still some time until the finals.

There isn't much to do. I can handle it.

I searched online for information about Zhou Guanqi

and presumed to know your mind.

That was wrong of me. I apologize.

But I've said this before.

Since I chose to work with you, I won't take advantage of you.

See you at the lab tomorrow.

Are you sure

you want to go together?

Of course.

This…

Has his matter been sorted out?

There's no concrete evidence.

He hasn't been back long.

He really is unlucky.

When did they get so close?

Who knows?

Zheng Yu,

so you and Chen Yanzhou teamed up for the Excellence Cup.

Every year, there are a few students who get caught cheating.

They usually have poor grades.

It's the number one student who was caught this time.

The number one's fall from grace is huge gossip for many people.

Until proof of his innocence is provided,

the gossip won't stop.

What's your point?

What I mean is,

you and Chen Yanzhou are a team.

You might get dragged into it.

If his cheating is verified,

it could affect your chances.

I'm heading back.

Did that cheat sheet have anything to do with you?

We're a team.

I want to hear the truth.

I thought you came yesterday because you believed I didn't cheat,

and we could carry on.

I don't think you cheated.

I just want to get things clear.

I just need an answer from you.

What answer?

Since the first class exam, you've seemed nervous during every exam.

So from your perspective, I'm mentally weak

and need a cheat sheet for reassurance.

Let's work separately.

I'll do edits and supplementary experiments.

You do the defense and slides.

We contribute equally and don't bother each other.

MR. LI

Hello?

I asked the university.

Things are at a standstill, but there's no conclusive evidence.

They won't hastily draw conclusions, so don't worry too much.

I'm not worried.

Good.

The Excellence Cup is what matters.

I'm leading the defense team this year.

Are your slides done?

You can show them to me first.

Zheng Yu is doing them. You can ask her.

What's wrong? Had a falling out?

No.

She asked me if I cheated,

although I already knew that's just how she is.

Last time, when she heard I gave you a red packet,

she also came up to me and asked if it was true.

How did she know about that?

I don't know either.

I think she heard it from someone.

I didn't really mind at the time. That frankness was nice.

But today,

I felt like those words crossed the line.

I get it.

Back then, a stranger suspected you.

Tonight, a friend doubted you.

That would certainly feel different.

Forget it. Enough talking. I have to revise my paper.

Okay, carry on. Bye.

…ADJUVANT STRATEGIES…

ON CHEN YANZHOU

ON CHEN YANZHOU

Gosh, Linlin!

Check the forum!

A post got bumped up.

Someone asked anonymously about a top scholar named Zhou Guanqi.

Many people are discussing it.

They say this guy is Chen Yanzhou's brother.

It has over 100 comments.

What's the title of the post?

It's…

Let me see.

Does anyone know what Qingyi's top scholar six years ago, Zhou Guanqi, is doing now?

I only know that Zhou Guanqi's brother is studying biology at Qing Yi University,

same major as his brother.

His name is Chen Yanzhou.

We were in the same lab.

They are brothers?

How smart is Chen Yanzhou?

I recently heard that he cheated on an exam.

He has been back for so long and still hasn't returned to the lab.

Judge for yourselves.

Same university, same major.

Why is he copying his brother?

I was wondering how he got into CXL's lab as a freshman.

Those who know, know how hard it is to get into CXL's lab.

Did the university give him special treatment because of his brother?

What happened to his brother?

I found out.

Six years ago, while staying on campus during the semester break,

ZGQ got into a car accident.

The university had to bear some responsibility.

Besides, he was a top scholar who attracted much attention.

Six years ago?

He died when he was just a freshman?

No wonder he wasn't punished for cheating.

I'm in the same college.

I've never heard about Zhou Guanqi's passing.

The university kept it quiet.

Students in later years hardly know anything about this.

ARE YOU SURE YOU WANT TO DELETE THIS POST?

THE POST HAS BEEN DELETED

ON CHEN YANZHOU

Why are you here? Didn't we agree to work separately?

Didn't you say Mr. Li treats all students fairly?

Even if I ask to borrow the key, I can get it.

So why can't I be here?

My laptop isn't working. I couldn't work on the slides.

I came to use the computer.

Did you not sleep?

If you can't finish editing the paper, I can help.

If you're worried,

you can check it before submission.

You can add this data

from the supplementary experiments.

I need to use the computer here for a few days.

Will you leave the key in the usual spot?

Not necessarily.

WU FA: PLAYING DEAD?

TABLE OF CONTENTS: 1: BACKGROUND, 2: METHODS, 3: RESULTS, 4: SUMMARY

- Hello. - I was just about to call you.

I have a classmate who works at a biotech company.

They need a freelancer for document translations.

- I'll add you to the group chat. - Okay.

By the way, why were you calling me?

Can you ask agencies you know

if any tutoring positions are open?

Preferably close to campus.

Wasn't your tutoring gig going well?

I heard the agent say

the kid's final exam results improved significantly.

Won't another gig be too much on your plate?

I have to pay off a huge debt.

Twenty-two yuan.

About the perfume money…

It's okay.

If you don't have the cash, you can pay me next semester.

It's the Lunar New Year soon.

When I get my red packets, I can buy more perfume.

Okay.

Don't get me wrong. I'm not being nice.

I know someone won the Vitality Award using dishonorable methods.

You can't get the money yet.

Bye.

Go.

Chen Yanzhou,

I want to ask you something.

What is it?

I'm asking for a freshman.

Doesn't Cheng Xiulin's lab rarely recruit freshmen?

When you were a freshman, how did you get in?

Share your experience.

On the forum, it said that Zhou Guanqi was your brother.

You had such a smart brother. Why haven't you mentioned him?

Cheng Xiulin and Li Yanan both taught him.

No wonder they treat you so well.

The university even deleted the post for you.

I really envy you.

If your brain is fried, cool off over there.

I told you I didn't want to go.

I'm going to the restroom.

ZHANG XINRAN, CHEN YANZHOU…

Zheng Yu, we're going out to eat later. Will you join us?

I came late. I'm not done yet.

ZHENG YU

CHEN YANZHOU

Do you believe Chen Yanzhou didn't cheat?

I just think you were right.

The two of us are competing in a team.

Proving his innocence will be for the best.

RECENT CALLS

ZHENG YU

Let's put these together.

Zheng Yu, how come you weren't at the lab this morning?

I had a gig.

ON CHEN YANZHOU

Did Chen Yanzhou go to the lab today?

Yes. He sat in front of me.

Can you lend me the key to the old lab?

My laptop isn't fixed yet.

CHEN YANZHOU

Didn't you swear you would ignore her?

She broke the ice first.

When did she do that?

It was that forum post. She asked for gossip.

Let's continue.

- What is it? - Is Chen Yanzhou here?

No. If that's all, I'm closing the door.

If the smell gets out, we'll get scolded again.

CHEN YANZHOU

OLD

Can you lend me the key to the old lab?

My laptop isn't fixed yet.

WU FA

JUST NOW

Hello?

You finally picked up.

Where's this semester's 30,000 yuan?

Did you not get that lousy award money this time?

There were special circumstances this time.

We had an agreement.

You pay 30,000 yuan at the end of every semester,

and we won't show up in your life.

If even one bit of it is missing, don't blame us for breaking the agreement.

We've found the hospital where your mother is.

It's only a matter of time

before we locate her ward as well as where you're studying.

Don't worry.

You will get the full 30,000 yuan.

So where's the money now?

Say something.

Talk!

This time,

someone cheated and ranked number one.

So it has been delayed.

The university is handling it.

When it's over, they will send me the money.

You had better not be lying.

Otherwise, you know the consequences.

This time,

someone cheated and ranked number one.

So it has been delayed.

ON THE IMMUNE-ENHANCING EFFECT OF PARTICULATE…

ZHENG YU

Are you going to the defense?

No.

What about the networking event in two days?

Past winners will share their experience.

No.

Okay.

Did you just leave?

It's so late. Why are you still here?

I just finished coaching a few competing teams.

By the way, Zheng Yu sent me the slides for your defense.

I've already told her what to revise.

Did she send them to you?

Are you two still upset with each other?

When two people have a common goal and work together,

the illusion of mutual connection develops.

When a conflict of interest arises,

that illusion quickly shatters.

Resolve this yourselves. Don't let it affect the competition, okay?

Are you going to the networking event in two days?

My mom will do waste sorting outreach.

- I'm helping out. - Sorting waste won't take all day.

Come by after that.

Waste sorting outreach.

Waste sorting, right…

LEFU YAYUAN

I'm just saying hi. No need to overreact.

Do you think your way of "saying hi" is polite?

Sorry, I was too impatient.

What do you want?

I heard at the networking event

that the project you and Chen Yanzhou are doing is going well.

The teachers and judges like it.

It seems

you two get along.

Don't concern yourself with our matters.

That's not what I'm concerned about.

It's your future.

You had better pray

that you don't win the Excellence Cup.

Chen Yanzhou was just rumored to have cheated.

Do you think everyone will stand for it?

It's 20,000 yuan.

It's a lot of money. Many people will be envious.

As his partner, be careful of getting caught in the crosshairs.

Don't worry about it.

Zheng Yu.

You must want to know what happened during the immunology exam.
