Tonight is my wedding night.

My husband is also my sworn enemy.

I heard she's the last princess of the Northern Kingdom.

Quite a beauty.

Too bad she's just His Majesty's plaything now.

Wait, why is she wearing shackles at her own wedding?

It's His Majesty's order.

A prisoner of war must remain in chains at all times.

Princess Elven Frost of the Fallen Kingdom, do you swear loyalty to Aldric

Valdan, King of the Valdan Empire?

I do.

Kneel.

Kiss the top of my foot.

From this day forward, you are my queen.

Yes, your majesty.

Even if I have to give myself to you, I'll kill you and avenge my parents.

According to my father's last wish, it is time I met him.

So this is the Valdan Royal Dungeon.

Security's way too loose.

So, this is Kael, the Prince Aldric imprisoned for being an ill omen.

His only son.

Perfect.

He'll be my weapon.

Who's there? Get out!

How rude.

Is this how you treat your mother?

So beautiful.

She said she was impossible. I don't know you.

Come any closer and I'll kill you.

I'm his majesty's newly wedded wife.

That makes me your mother now.

You haven't had a proper meal in a long time, have you?

I came late today, so just make do with some bread.

Get lost.

I'm a cursed monster.

Sucking up to me won't do you any good.

Afraid it's poisoned, so you don't trust me?

That smell.

Is it the bread?

Or her?

Come here.

A little closer.

You don't think you can seduce me with these cheap tricks.

Seduce? Why not?

Have you lost your mind?

Those marks.

Those wounds.

Did that old bastard do this to you?

Yes.

A wedding gift your father gave me.

I want him dead.

Just like you, we share a common enemy.

Kael.

Be my blade, and I'll see you walk free again.

You want my help? Fine.

But I have one condition.

Sharp

-tongued

kid.

Go on.

What's your condition?

Will belong to me.

I want you.

All to myself, Mother.

You came to me because I'm the only witness to the king killing his brother

for the throne.

I can tell you where the evidence is hidden.

Isn't that reason enough for us to team up, Mother?

Not bad.

You're a good son.

I'll have you out of here soon.

It's late. I should go.

I'll come back tomorrow.

Where have you been so late?

Why do you smell like a damp dungeon?

I...

I was just bringing some clothes and food to the prisoners.

Still hung up on your old allies.

No, I just feel guilty.

After all, while they're suffering, I'm living here as your woman.

So... I wanted to try and recruit them for you, your majesty.

You're quite the clever one.

If... If it pleases you, that's enough.

My boy, did you sleep well last night?

Wait, what are these marks on your neck? I brought fresh bread.

Eat it while it's hot.

You let him touch you again, didn't you? You already chose me! You liar!

Mad? Then let me comfort my good boy myself.

What are you doing in here? Get out!

I'm here to clean you up. Look at you, filthy like a stray dog.

Hardly a prince.

So what?

You're nothing but that old bastard's dog in bed.

Hush now.

Don't be disrespectful to his majesty.

I had to bribe the guards just to get in here.

Ah, you.

Let go.

Does it feel good having your mother serve you?

Ah, lower.

It's so full, it hurts.

Good boy.

I like honest kids.

This woman.

It's fucking torture.

Alright, that's enough for today.

I have important business to attend to. This will help you get out of here

sooner.

What are you playing at now?

Come back!

Don't go!

Bloodline clear.

Pain transfer.

Aldrin.

Now you'll feel the suffering your son endured.

Help me change.

At once.

Your Majesty, what's wrong? It hurts.

My chest. It feels like I've been lashed with a whip.

Someone!

Call the royal physician immediately!

What's happening?

What's wrong with me?

This is a curse.

Someone has cursed your majesty.

Who would dare do such a thing?

This is an ancient curse.

Really hard to trace.

Luckily, if we find someone from the same bloodline, they can take the hit

for you.

Bloodline?

Come to think of it, there's still one Valdan left.

He does have a silver tongue.

My money was well spent.

Your Highness, you're free to go. Your chambers have been prepared for you.

Get lost!

Did you think I'd forget the scraps you used to throw at me? Mercy, your

highness!

I know I was wrong!

Too late. I'm settling all my old debts today.

Blood for blood.

I'm taking back everything that's mine.

Including my dear stepmother.

Who's there?

Shh. Don't scream.

It's me, your son.

You set me free.

So it's only right I return the praver. I'll warm your bed tonight.

Are you insane?

This is your father's bedchamber.

Shh.

He's touched you here before, hasn't he?

It's all right.

I'll lick it clean for you, Mother.

Mother, who's better?

Me or Father?

Say it.

No.

How could I compare?

Elowen, open the door.

Damn it. Of all the times.

Your Majesty, I thought you were resting in the side hall.

I'm feeling much better.

Why is the window open?

Leaving it open this late, someone could sneak in.

This wardrobe.

There's only a lonely woman here, Your Majesty.

I've missed you so much.

You old bastard.

I'll kill you.

You're so sweet, my love.

But I need that little brat's blood to stop the curse.

He's fighting hard, even hurt the guards.

So I want you to draw his blood yourself.

You're gentle.

He might behave for you.

Is she really going to do it?

Hurt me for that old gunga?

I'll do anything for your sake.

Your Majesty.

Go first thing tomorrow.

I'll be waiting.

Are you coming to take my blood, just to suck up to that old geezer?

Give me your hand.

You're that eager to hurt me just to make him happy.

Don't move, or it'll cut deeper.

You care about him that much, enough to cut my flesh and drain my blood.

I said, hold still.

Good boys get rewards.

As expected of my gentle mother.

Take more.

That's enough.

His Majesty is waiting for me.

You cut me, but now you're treating the wound.

Seems you do care about me.

You're under my spell.

The only cure is to sleep with me.

Kale, do you want me to save you?

Mother.

I want you.

Only you.

Damn it.

Even in my dreams, that woman tortures me.

Halloween. Mother.

Your Highness, Her Majesty brought medicine

for your wound.

What's wrong?

Why is your face so flushed? It's nothing.

What brings you here, Mother?

I'm here to change your bandits.

If it gets infected, Majesty will blame me.

Why is this taking so long? Are you done yet?

Stay still.

I'm changing the bandage. What are you thinking about?

There's a banquet tonight.

You have to go.

Miss Blackwood will be there.

She's got the army behind her, and we need her on our side.

You want me to seduce another woman?

Exactly.

Can't you do it?

She dragged me to this boring banquet, and now she just leaves me here.

The king and queen have arrived!

My queen, you look stunning tonight.

Makes me want you right here.

Just as I thought. He's been staring at me.

Your Majesty, the night is still young.

I promise you'll enjoy it.

Good. Damn you. Get your filthy hands off her.

I've waited years for this day.

Everyone, listen up.

Kael is the only man for me.

I won't marry anyone else.

Even that monster has a girl chasing after him.

That Blackwood girl just won't quit.

The Blackwood family controls the Empire's army.

She is the General's only daughter.

Standing next to Kael, they look perfect together.

Hold on, Miss Blackwood.

Trying to force a marriage in public?

That's reckless.

Finally, she showed up. I thought she was just going to leave me here.

Your Majesty, if I remember correctly, only you can decide a Valdan Prince's

marriage, right?

You're just a toy from a fallen kingdom. Who do you think you are? How dare you!

Miss Blackwood, watch your mouth in front of his majesty.

Unless you want trouble.

Kale, say something.

This woman, she's using me. One face in public, another in private. I could rip

her clothes off right now.

Why is he staring at her like that? Did she seduce him?

Is it fun playing with me like this, Mother?

I already got close to Safina as you asked.

So why step in now? Don't you want the army anymore?

I just don't like seeing my son with another woman.

Are you jealous?

Do you even realize what you're saying?

Stop guessing.

We still have things to deal with.

I need you to get back to His Majesty.

You.

Seraphina needs to be in real danger so I can step in and save her. That is the

only way she'll trust me.

If you dare try to steal kale from me, Eleven, I will ruin you.

Make sure Her Majesty drinks this.

When it's done, I'll double your pay.

But if you say a word, the Blackwood family will wipe your whole family out.

Yes, my lady.

Your Majesty, this is a special rose wine. His Majesty asked me to bring it

to you.

Thank His Majesty for me.

This wine, it tastes a little too sweet.

Wait. His Majesty didn't send this. There's something wrong with it.

What's wrong with Her Majesty?

Why is her face so flushed?

Did she have too much to drink?

I can't.

I can't lose it here.

It's me.

You'll be fine.

Guards! Fetch the physician, now!

Isn't that Prince Kael?

Is he carrying Her Majesty?

What happened to her? Wasn't she fine at the banquet?

Heavens. Did she get drunk and fall into the pool?

Was this your doing?

Kael.

Tell me, what did you do to her?

What's going on here?

It's nothing.

I just drank a little too much and slipped into the pool.

You fell in because you were drunk.

There had to be something in that wine.

It must have been her.

Kale, how can you just blame me like that?

Quiet.

Serafina is a lady of noble birth.

Apologize now.

You actually hit me over her.

I just saved you.

Don't forget our plan.

I'm sorry, Miss Blackwood. I lost my temper.

All right.

Just a misunderstanding.

Kale, come with me.

Elwynn, go get cleaned up.

Everyone's waiting for you to dance.

Yes, Your Majesty.

Miss Blackwood, I'd like a word with you in private.

What does she want with me?

I'm here to make a deal.

I can help you get Kael.

What did you say?

Is a marriage pact.

Back Kael's claim to the throne with the Blackwood army, and I'll make sure he

marries you.

I can even fix the army funding problems your family's been struggling with.

Why would you help me?

Because I need a powerful ally.

And you need the perfect man.

This marriage will give Kael real standing.

In return, I'll deal with the corrupt officials stealing from the army.

It's a fair trade. Fair?

You're just using me and Kael to fulfill your own ambitions.

I'm not using you.

It benefits both of us.

I want him to be happy.

Give me a break.

If you actually cared about Kael, you wouldn't hand him over to another woman.

Do you really like him? Looks like he's the one obsessed with you.

You slept with me and still won't admit you love me.

Allow in your heartless.

Kale, let go of me. I need to change.

No.

I have something to ask you.

Can't you just calm down? His Majesty is waiting for me to go back and dance.

I heard everything you said to Serafina.

You're so busy with your plans.

You don't care how I feel.

I'm sick of your fake act.

From now on, don't even think about leaving this room.

Kael, have you lost your mind?

Kael, let me go.

If His Majesty finds out you've locked me in here,

Everything we've worked for will fall apart.

Then I'll just kill him for you. I don't need your schemes.

Kael, I told you.

Stay calm.

Until we bring Aldric to his knees. Every second we're in the public eye. Am

I clear?

I see it all.

But you don't have to pretend with me.

Not here.

Because you're mine.

Just say it.

Whisper my name, mother.

Kale.

My son.

Not so rough.

Go dance then. But even when you're standing next to him, don't you forget.

What an insatiable little wolf.

Kael, these roses are beautiful.

Can we plant some like these in our garden someday?

Sure. Whatever.

If you like them.

It's Seraphana and Kael.

That boy.

He's getting a little too into the act.

So annoying.

Stop right there!

Watch out, Miss Blackwood!

Why?

Why would she take that blade for me?

Your Highness, you've cared for your fiancé day and night these days.

It's really touching.

You were the one who saved her, not me. Are you jealous right now?

Jealous, you are wrong.

I'm just glad you didn't ruin my plan.

After all, I hired that assassin.

Are you insane?

So what?

All I want is the Blackwoods locked in unbreakable loyalty to me.

Miss Blackwood.

How are you feeling?

Elowen, why did you save me?

What do you really want?

I checked.

The finance minister was behind the hit.

He's been after the Blackman's military power for years.

But the king dotes on him. He'll never believe me if I accuse him.

The king's the real villain here.

That's why Kale and I are teaming up to take him down. What do you mean by that?

Your Highness, come in, please.

Let us see what your father's done to you.

What is this?

To suppress this so-called curse.

His Majesty has been making me bleed the prince dry for his drinking.

He... He really never let his own son go, did he?

And here's this.

All the proof that Aldrich murdered his brother to seize the throne.

Where did you get all this?

Kael gave them to me himself.

He knows what his father did.

That's why he's been kept locked up all these years.

Why are you showing me this today? What's your angle?

It's not just me.

Kael is in on this too.

We want you to join us.

To help us take down that monster.

I can trust Kael.

But as for you, I have one more question.

Aldric killed your parents and destroyed your country.

It's only natural that you hate him. But what happens after Aldric is gone? Can

you promise you won't use Kael to take revenge on this kingdom?

Revenge?

Once Aldric is dead, I'm leaving to stay by my parents' graves.

I'll never come back.

She thinks she can just dump me after she's done using me. Keep dreaming.

I give you my word.

Once it's all over, Kael will be the new king, and I'll never stand in the way of

your love for him, Miss Blackwood.

Very well.

I agree to the alliance, but I'll win Kael's heart on my own.

Then on behalf of Kael, thank you, Miss Blackwood.

Even without you begging for her help, I'll overthrow Aldrak and take what's

mine.

Your Majesty, what brings you here?

Where

were you just

now?

I was hungry, so I went to the kitchens to find a snack.

Really? Why didn't Kael come back with you?

Prince Kael is nothing more than a tool to sustain your majesty.

But I am your wife.

Is that so?

But aren't you bitter about marrying an old man like me?

No.

To be your wife is... is my greatest honor.

Liar. You're so young and beautiful.

Kael's the kind of man you'd really fall for, isn't he? How could that be?

Everything the prince has is a gift from you, your majesty.

How could a son ever compare to his father?

Just hold on a little longer.

I'll do anything, as long as I can get my revenge.

Oh, by the way, I have a gift for you.

Put this on.

I want you to pleasure me yourself.

That's the flag embroidered with my homeland's totem.

What's wrong, my dear wife?

Can't you even satisfy this small request?

I'm going to kill that monster.

I swear.

I've done as you asked, Your Majesty.

I'm wearing it now.

Good. Now say it loud and clear. I am your slave.

My homeland is worthless.

Yes, I am your slave.

My motherland.

My motherland is...

Damn

it, you useless bitch.

Go see what's wrong with her.

Let me take a look, Your Majesty.

Congratulations, Your Majesty.

Her Majesty the Queen is pregnant.

What did you say?

Amazing. I didn't expect another child.

Elwynn, you've done a great service.

Save me.

I can't stay here.

A second longer.

This is... Kale's place.

No. I need to calm down.

I can't stay here.

Where are you going?

Weren't you coming to find me?

Why do you smell like that old man?

You just crawled out of his bed, didn't you?

And then ran straight to me.

That's right.

I'm a slut.

I love being toyed with by my enemy.

Happy now? What is wrong with you today?

None of your business.

I'm going back.

I'm sorry.

It was my disrespect that upset you, Mother.

I know you serve Father because you have to.

But you still love me, right?

Why?

Why is it me?

Shh, it's okay.

No one is here.

Just let it all out.

Don't worry, Mother.

Anyone who hurts you will pay double.

I'm only using him for my revenge. But why do I just want to stay with him

right now?

No, he's just a tool for my revenge.

I can't do this.

I'm just pregnant.

What?

Pregnant? You're carrying his brat and you came to see me?

Wait, let me finish.

It's a fake. I bribed the royal physician.

I just needed a baby to fool Aldrich.

So...

What's your plan?

I'm going to adopt an orphan.

Is that true?

I swear it's all true.

Of course.

Aldric is my enemy.

I hate him even more than you do.

Alvin promised me.

But you'll belong only to me.

No, I can't.

Enough.

You need to go to Serafina's.

Get the evidence of the military funds being embezzled.

Yes, Mother.

Remember, this is all for transaction.

Don't let your emotions get the better of you.

If there's nothing else, that's it for today.

Finance Minister, I want you to explain why the border troops haven't had

rations for three months.

Resources are tight.

So your majesty has allocated hundreds of thousands in gold for the border. Did

you pocket it all? Prince Kale, you... This is slander.

Transporting military supplies isn't easy.

Mistakes happen.

It might not be the finance minister's fault.

I've already ordered the accounts.

This proves he embezzled the funds.

What?

Your Majesty, our soldiers are fighting on the front lines. If we don't get to

the bottom of this, morale will crumble. His Highness is right.

With this evidence, we need a full investigation.

Pass down my orders.

Place the finance minister under house arrest and have the Blackwoods assist in

the investigation.

Your Majesty, I implore you to let Prince Kael take a more active role in

state affairs from now on.

Fine.

I'll consider it.

You have no idea.

Kael was the star of the council today.

Even the ministers are starting to rally behind him.

He is your son, after all.

You should be proud of him, your majesty.

Personally, I think I should get rid of him now, before he becomes a real

problem.

What's wrong? You're sweating.

It's the baby.

It's kicking.

Don't get smart with me.

Otherwise, you'll regret it one day.

Yes, your majesty.

Kael, you stood out too much at court today.

You've already made your father suspicious.

The old bastard.

He said that to you in bed, didn't he?

Is this the time for that? Look.

No matter what he does, I'm only happy like this.

With you.

Mother.

You're getting way better at seducing men.

Hey, my sweet boy.

I'm only doing this to save your life.

Say it.

Say my name, mother.

Kale, my boy.

Miss, there's an urgent message.

What?

The Finance Minister is sending someone to assassinate Kale?

Die.

Kale!

At Makeham-le-Priest.

What is this?

That's a forbidden spell from the north! I never miss Barton.

You're safe now.

Elowen.

Are you okay?

You're freezing.

I'm fine. Just drained from the magic.

Hold me tight.

I'm warm.

The palace isn't safe.

Stay here and you'll be in danger.

Come with me.

I'll take you somewhere safe.

No, I can't leave yet.

I'll go home after I get my revenge.

Not now.

No. You can't leave me alone, Mother.

And then what?

Once you're king...

Do you expect me to sleep with you?

Exactly.

That's the only way you'll stick around.

Don't be naive.

Let go of me, Kale.

Your Majesty, it's true. My men saw it.

Her Majesty, she spent the night in Prince Kael's bed.

Good. Well done.

Move. Let's go see my son.

Prince Kael, the king needs to see you. Open the door.

You bastard.

I knew you'd come.

Go through it carefully.

Yes, your majesty.

Father, what are you looking for at this ungodly hour?

Your majesty, there's no one else here.

Spare me the pretense. She was seen here by a witness.

No one's here but me. Who exactly is this she you're referring to?

Captain, post your men outside.

I'll go check it out.

Your Majesty, what's the matter?

Where were you just now?

I've been right here this entire time, talking with Lady Serafina.

Really? Let me check. Take it off.

Your Majesty, Lady Serafina is still here. What are you doing?

No signs of anything going on with someone else.

Your Majesty, Her Majesty asked me to chat with her because she's weak from

pregnancy. What are you suspecting?

Good thing I used magic to fix it beforehand, and that Serafina's here to

cover for me. If you're this weak, send for the royal physician.

Let him check if the child is safe and sound.

No.

No.

If the physician finds out I'm not pregnant, I'm completely screwed.

Elevin's acting off.

Could she actually be?

I've already had my personal physician attend to the queen.

Do you trust my word, Your Majesty?

Since when have you been so close to her?

It's all thanks to the Queen speaking up for me in front of Prince Kael.

I owe her a bit of gratitude.

All right. Then the Queen shall get some proper rest.

Yes, Your Majesty.

Serafina, thank you for earlier.

Tell me the truth.

You're not pregnant at all, are you? Are you out of your mind?

Aldrich's not that easy to trick. If he finds out you've been lying to him...

Miss Blackwood, I intend to adopt a child.

Would you go to the orphanage and help me find a suitable candidate?

You can't be serious. I need a baby boy.

Preferably with dark eyes.

One that looks like him.

I have big hopes for the Queen's child.

Upon his birth, He shall be the rightful primary heir to the Empire.

What of Prince Kael?

The Queen's a foreigner, let's not forget.

He means to tie Elwynn down with this child, or is he trying to drive a wedge

between Elwynn and me?

No matter what it takes, I will claim the throne, and I will give Elwynn

everything she wants.

Brilliant, Your Highness. That move to take down the Lord Treasury was an

absolute masterstroke.

He grows ever more into the mage of a rightful prince now.

Yet you must walk with caution, Your Highness.

The Queen and that child in her womb, they're your greatest rivals for the

throne.

Rest easy, everyone.

Once I take the throne, neither she nor her kid will get away.

Kyle, did he really mean it?

Welcome, emissaries of the dynasty of Dessa.

On behalf of the Valdan Empire, I raise a toast to you.

Thank you, your majesty.

May the friendship between the Valdan Empire and the Desti of Dessa last

forever. You must be Prince Irian of Desta.

I heard you and Erloven were childhood sweethearts, almost married.

Why is Aedric bringing this up now?

You're the one I want to protect.

One day, I will make you my bride.

Your Majesty, that was just childish nonsense when we were young.

I don't care about her past, especially not when she's

carrying my baby right now.

Indeed.

My congratulations to Your Majesty and the Queen.

The Queen's charm is truly unmatched. I'd say His Majesty's prowess is far

more impressive.

Elowen had a fiancée this whole time?

Why did she never tell me?

Your Majesty, stay your step, I pray you.

Please, grant me but a moment of your time to speak.

All right.

You may all take your leave.

Yes, Your Majesty.

Elvin, are you still set on revenge?

Stop this.

You're only hurting yourself.

You can't take on a whole kingdom alone.

Irian, from all those years ago.

Not anymore.

But in my heart, you'll always be that same Elvin.

And I will protect you no matter what.

Run away with me.

Just nod.

And I'll get you out no matter what it takes.

Thanks, Arian.

But I can't leave with you. Is it the child that troubles your heart? Rest

ease. I'll raise him as my own. We can start over together.

No, you don't understand.

Elowen, tonight is your last chance.

Please reconsider.

If not for anything else, do it for yourself.

Just stop.

Forget about me, Arian.

Why, at this moment, I want for Iz Caleby to buy my side.

All these years have passed. You still can't forget your fiancé, Mother.

I won't allow you to run off with him.

Unless I'm dead, you're not going anywhere.

What are you doing here?

Why shouldn't I be here, afraid I'll interrupt your secret meeting with

Prince Irian? What are you talking about?

You've been following me!

What am I to you, huh?

How am I any worse than Irian?

Calm down, you don't understand either of us.

Yeah, and I still can't stand him. He touched you.

You can only be mine.

Only I get to leave my mark on you.

You bastard.

Kale, that hurts. Go easy.

Did I hurt you?

You should have thought of that before going at me like a dog.

But you love it when I do this.

Mother, I'll stay with you forever, all right?

Elven, open the door. I need to see you. It's urgent.

Arion, what's he doing here?

Elven, take my token.

With it, my people will escort you out of the palace.

He wants to take you away.

But you're mine.

But I'm not leaving.

Elvin, what's wrong?

Say something.

I... I'm fine.

Just go.

All right, I'll go for now.

But I meant what I said.

Are you satisfied now?

Not even close.

That bastard.

Oh, my

God.

What happened to Prince Irian?

I heard he was attacked by someone in a mask last night.

Could it be?

You hit Irian, didn't you? Have you got no sense of restraint at all?

So what if I did?

He dared to lust after what's mine.

A beating is mercy.

No more reckless acts that'll rouse his suspicion.

If His Majesty finds out... I don't care.

The only person I care about is you.

That's Lady Wright.

His Majesty's lady-in-waiting.

She's spying on us.

Don't think hurting Irian will win you his majesty's favor. The heir can only

be my son.

What did you just say?

Dammit, she's his spy.

Your son.

That bastard isn't even worthy.

Isn't even worthy! Let go!

I'm the queen!

How dare you disrespect your stepmother!

I can do whatever I want here.

Who's gonna know?

What are you doing?

Doing this right under my father's spy.

Exciting, isn't it, Elwynn?

I... I'm telling his majesty.

Louder.

Let him hear what I'm doing to you.

You're insane!

Back off!

Yeah, I am.

I'd do anything for you.

Listen carefully.

Once I take the throne, I'll make your son the crown prince.

What?

I said I'll make your son the crown heir, of course.

He must be our own flesh and blood.
