The electromagnetic phenomenon
known as Murasaki 31 2

whirls like some angry blight in space,

a reminder that seven of our shipmates
have not been heard from.

The effect has rendered
our normal searching systems useless.

Without them,
we are blind and almost helpless.

l was opposed to this from the start.
Our flight to Makus lll is our priority.

l know, but l have scientific duties
and investigating this is one of them.
