Episode 07

A spirit animal in the legend, was, in your eyes,

very ugly and terrifying?

My lord, you haven't seen it.

It's indeed very ugly.

If you say so,

I was told its stories since I was a kid.

I was quite curious.

You said the spirit turtle saved you.

So, it must be very fond of you.

How about calling it out again?

And let me see for myself

what it looks like.

But...But...But

What's wrong? You can't do that?

You lied to me.

I dare not do that. I would never lie to you.

I… I can only try my best.

Alright. I’m not busy today.

Since I'm here,

why don't you start it now?

- Yes. - Right now?

My respectable spirit turtle, please help me!

My life depends on you.

God, please!

Mr. Spirit Turtle, please! Come out of the water, please!

Mr. Spirit Turtle, I brought you lots of tasty food.

Mr. Spirit Turtle! Come out of the water, please!

What can I do?

Spirit turtle.

Spirit turtle.

Can you hear me?

Spirit turtle, didn't you come out the other day?

Please show yourself today.

Mr. Spirit Turtle! The General is waiting for you!

Please help me!

General J.

Madame Shu.

Why are you all here?

I heard someone can call out the spirit turtle.

And I'm curious.

So I came to see it with my brother.

I also heard about it.

So I came here to have a look.

Since you are here,

just wait here to have a look.

Are you coming out? Tasty food is here.

I have lots of fish, Mr. Spirit Turtle.

Spirit Turtle, come out of the water quickly, please!

If you come out,

I, Tian Qi,

will take care of you with delicious food every day.

Please! Please!

Please come out, spirit turtle!

No matter what kind of turtle! Just come out, please.

Help me! Help me, brother turtle!

Brother spirit turtle!

Sister spirit turtle, please!

Tian Qi has called for a while.

But the spirit turtle didn't show up.

Maybe she fooled you.

Who dares?

Who dares to fool our General J?

Please! Please! Please!

Saving one life is better than building a seven-tier pagoda.

All life depends on you.

Please come out quickly!

Why… this…

General J, look here.

The spirit turtle!

Look here!

General J!

General J!

This is the spirit turtle, my lord.

How's that a spirit turtle?

It is just an ordinary turtle.

And it is so small.

Dr. Tian, you are now fooling the General around.

You have committed a horrible crime.

I…

My grandfather recorded this in a notebook.

It's from the State of Dala.

And it's named Turtle Ze.

It's worshiped as a spirit animal for eternity.

It is said that,

you can be wealthy for ten years after seeing it;

and can be healthy for a hundred after touching it.

And what proves its identity

is the character “Wang” (King) on its shell.

Oh… There is really a “Wang“！

This … This is the spirit turtle.

No… But…

The… size…

This may be the son of the spirit turtle.

Yes. That's right. Grandson of a turtle (son of a bitch).

Tian Qi.

It seems that you are connected to the turtle.

In that case,

you should feed

it and its offspring.

Yes. I will do as you say, my lord.

Muzhu, where are you going?

You told me to persuade Sun Dali

to kill Tian Qi.

Now Tian Qi is alive.

But you killed Sun Dali.

And…

her ladyship, she

wants me dead, too?

How can she treat me like this …

after all I've done for her.

It is because you did too much

and knew so many things.

Kill her.

Tian Qi. Tian Qi. Ah.

Bad news. Bad news.

Bad news. Something happened.

What happened?

What happened, teacher?

Someone was killed.

Listen to me.

I heard just now.

A servant girl died of drowning.

What does this have to do with us?

Do you know who the servant girl is?

- Who? - She is the lover of Sun Dali.

The lover of Sun Dali?

Do you know who she served?

I know this.

She used to

served Madame Shu.

Her status was lower than

Zhijijn, personal servant of Madame Shu.

She made some mistakes,

so,

she was demoted to the embroidery workshop.

The clothes we are wearing,

maybe, were made by her.

What’s in your bag?

There's poison.

Nothing in it.

The embroidery workshop.

Sun Dali and the servant girl of Madame Shu…

Is it possible that…

Go and check

her identity.

Remember, keep it discreet.

Yes, my lord.

Did you worship the flower angel as I told you?

No… I think…

What do you think?

Enough already. Worship the holy, quickly.

Do I have to?

Hurry up! Don't talk rubbish!

Well, then.

My holy flower angel!

Please keep this flower forever blossom.

With the brightest colors,

and longevity.

How about it?

Can you feel the power of flower angel?

Tian Qi…

is really desperate for living.

Teacher, what's the name of that servant girl?

Muzhu.

Sister Muzhu.

This girl is so clever.

Reacted so quickly.

Sister Muzhu.

Xiaoba is here for you.

This girl.

Muzhu’s bed is over there.

This one.

Sister Muzhu.

Xiaoba is here for you.

Sister Muzhu.

Girl, Muzhu is your...

Muzhu and I...

We share the same hometown.

We've been like sisters since we were young.

And later, we came to to Mansion Ji

to work here together.

After hearing the bad news,

her family asked me to come here

and see if she

left anything.

So we can…

We can make a cenotaph for her.

And offer sacrifices to that.

Muzhu.

Muzhu...

She was better than any of us in sewing.

She made these embroideries

and clothes.

Since you are from the same town,

you can take them away.

Thank you, sister.

Thank you. Thank you, sister.

Sister Muzhu.

I miss you so much.

Sister Muzhu.

Who is she?

General J.

The servant girls in our mansion

would try every means

to attract the General.

How dare you offend the General!

You know how you'll be punished?

I know I'm wrong. I... I am...

Look at me.

I know I'm wrong.

I just adore General J.

So, I played this trick.

I am wrong.

General J, I feel shameful to look at you.

Well, then.

But if you

use this trick to attract others again,

I won't spare you.

Thank you, my lord.

Wait.

She looks suspicious.

Catch her!

- Yes, my lord. - Yes, my lord.

My lord, she just played a trick

to attract you.

Why do you think she looks suspicious?

She makes me feel…

very familiar.

She wears a perfume pouch.

And the fragrance is complex.

But I feel that

that gragrance is familiar.

Where is she?

Look over there.

Where did she go?

I will go there.

Which girl gave you this?

Not from any girl.

This is left by Muzhu.

Muzhu? The girl that died?

I highly suspect that it was she

that sewed the poison in my belt.

She was the murderer.

So why do you

bring her clothes here?

Are you going to cast a spell on her?

So that she won't be given a second life.

She put the deadly cure on oilpaper.

The oilpaper is waterproof.

And it is a slice.

Now I'm thinking

besides my belt,

and her ladyship's drink.

Where else can she put it?

Under the extra layer?

But… I don't smell the deadly cure

from these clothes.

Is she the murderer?

She is not the murderer?

Or else...

She had used all the deadly cure?

Why did Muzhu make

so many perfume pouches?

And put so many spices in it.

All these spices

affect my ability to smell.

So I can't tell what's in it.

I know.

If she wants to cover the smell,

she must use a stronger smell

to cover it.

Where is it?

Teacher.

Yes, it is the deadly cure.

Dr. Tian found some evidence

for the dead woman in the moat.

The dead woman

is the servant girl Muzhu.

She once worked in the embroidery workshop.

And she was close to Sun Dali.

After knowing it,

Dr. Tian seemed to suspect Muzhu.

Then she went to Muzhu’s room.

And finally found the evidence there.

He found it?

Yes. Dr. Tian speculated that

Muzhu must take the deadly cure with herself.

And use the spices to cover its smell.

As expected, he found it in a perfume pouch.

Where's the perfume pouch?

It is

held by Dr. Tian.

But if we can get the perfume pouch

and investigate after it,

we can surly find the murderer.

That's right. We must find it quickly.

Alright. I will try to find it.

To my surprise,

that Tian Qi

really has something.

He can easily find the evidence.

Actually, not easy at all.

Brother, do you know that

Dr. Tian even wore girl’s clothes

to investigate the case.

He was dressed as a servant girl.

Servant girl?

So…

How dare you offend the General!

You know how you'll be punished?

It was him.

It’s no wonder

I was so familiar with the smell.

It was him.

Actually, I think

Dr. Tian is quite interesting.

He is loyal to

both Infanta Shuncheng or you.

Although she indirectly caused the infanta’s death,

his sin should not be punished with death.

Let’s talk about it later.

But you,

this step,

you have waited too long.

How about giving up now?

Why should I give up?

Brother, it’s your turn.

You are not a good player. Bad choice.

What should I do now?

If I give this to his lordship,

I must be honest

and tell him that I knew

the murderer had put poison in my belt.

But… if I don't tell him about it.

No way,

I can't tell him.

If I tell him the truth,

I will be doomed.

But if I don't tell the truth,

He'll also kill me

when the flower withers.

What can I do?

That’s quite easy.

Just tell him the truth.

Who are you?

Guess who I am?

I am always here.

You’ve been here all along?

Yes.

I've been observing you these days.

Observing me these days?

From… From when?

From the time General J ordered you to take care of me

From the time…

…General J ordered me to take care of you?

That’s right.

I took the energy from the sun and the moon,

and after a thousand years,

I grew up to the flower angel of azalea.

As you have taken good care of me,

just call me “flower angel”.

Call you “flower angel”?

Stop fooling me around.

You, hurry up,

take off the mask!

You… I…

What… What else do you know?

I know a lot.

Frankly speaking,

me, the flower angel,

seldom show up

in front of anyone.

If it's not for

you giving me offerings,

and worshipping me,

I won't show myself.

So, what teacher told me was true?

You…

You… You… You are really the flower angel?

Yes!

I wanted to show up

and guide you out of the danger.

I don't know you are this rude to me

and such disrespectful.

Maybe you can only believe me

after I give you charges,

and let General J kill you.

No, no, no. I believe, I believe you.

I believe whatever you say.

If you can save me from the difficult time,

I will trust all your words.

Alright. Give the evidence you find to me.

I'll

surely find a way to save you.

Well, you can choose to suspect me.

But let me get this straight,

if you don’t give me the evidence,

I can't help you.

At that time,

the only choice you have

is to die.

Flower angel!

My holy Flower God!

Please, please help me!

Okay, I'll give you another piece of advice.

General J is kinder than you thought.

If you're totally loyal to him,

and plus my protection,

maybe you can keep your life.

What did I meet? Ghost or angel?

Please, flower angel.

Please bless me!

Bless me!

Bless me!

Please, flower angel! Please bless me!

Please! Please!

Flower angel, Please! Bless me, please.

I have found the truth about the perfume pouch.

What Muzhu used to make it,

is the leftover from a kind of cloth.

But what made it different is that,

it was used as a gift.

Father gave it to Madame Shu.

I think

maybe Madame Shu still doesn't know that

Muzhu secretly made this perfume pouch with that cloth,

and hid deadly cure in it.

Besides,

what else did you find?

At embroidery workshop,

Muzhu managed the distribution of our clothes.

It is very likely that

Muzhu had hidden the poison in Tian Qi’s belt.

And Muzhu asked to meet Madame Shu

before her death,

but was stopped.

After she died,

Madame Shu ordered a huge sum to Muzhu’s family.

It seemed to show master-servant relationship.

Madame Shu.

It seems that Madame Shu,

has a complex background.

Eight years ago,

father married her.

She has always been quiet.

Now,

she killed the infanta.

She obviously wants to deal with me.

But we have no intersection.

Brother,

have you figured out

who is behind Madame Shu?

Eight years ago.

Zheng,

do you remember

what happened eight years ago?

Yes. Dong Mountain Village.

Dong Mountain Village monopolized the hill,

brutalized the local people

and made their life miserable.

Father was ordered to suppress it,

but was trapped in the hill.

I remembered.

It was you, who came to his rescue,

and finally saved father.

You also killed some leaders in the village.

Father met Madame Shu at that time,

and brought her to our mansion.

So we have never suspected her.

Maybe, from the beginning,

she was actually a member of Dong?

Very likely.

If everything happened

was the revenge of Dong’s remainders...

So, Madame Shu poisoned the infanta,

and someone tried kill brother…

Everything fits!

Zheng,

Are there any other remainder of Dong?

I will leave it to you.

Brother, I won't let you down.

Brother,

have you decided what to do with Dr. Tian?

To be,

or not to be,

will be his own choice.

Why do these two stand here

for no reason?

My lord, why are you here?

I really want to know,

why my azalea

is in you room?

Did I allow you to take it away?

So pitiful.

Just one flower left,

withered like this.

Have I told you

If you can't find out the truth

behind the case

before all the flowers wither,

I'll sacrifice you for her.

My lord.

Now, all the flowers withered.

Have you found out the murderer?

I… I… I… No, I haven't...

All the flowers are withered.

Please. Please spare my life, my lord.

Kill.

Not kill.

Kill.

Not kill.

Not kill. Not kill. Not kill.

Kill.

Not kill.

Kill.

Not kill.

Kill.

My lord.

Tian Qi, it is “kill”.

My lord! My lord!

Please forgive me, my lord!

I really haven't found out the murderer.

Since you find out nothing,

how could I forgive you?

Unless,

you can give me a reason for not killing you.

I can’t die

At least, I can’t die now.

I haven't found out the one killed my family.

I have to live.

I have to take my revenge

My lord! My lord!

I... I...

Actually, I found something.

But I'm afraid you won't trust my words.

If you don't tell me,

how could you know

whether trust you or not?

I, find out that the murderer…

is… is… is… Madame Shu.

Tian Qi.

Madame Shu is my father’s concubine.

She can count as one of my elders.

You blame her without any evidence.

You committed a horrible crime.

I know.

Do you have any evidence?

Evidence?

Right, the perfume pouch.

I gave it to flower angel.

Who knows where the pouch is?

What can I do?

My lord. I…

I really have no evidence.

But after that day,

Madame Shu once asked me,

how the wound on the back of my head is.

But I never told anyone,

I was hit on the back of my head,

and then fell in the water.

Only Sun Dali

and the one behind all these

knew it.

What else did you find out?

My lord. Please.

Can you give me a couple more days?

I am sure that I can find more evidence.

There is no need.

Since you fell in the water,

you have never had a good rest.

I allow you to have a rest.

Thank you my lord for sparing my life.

All the evidence is here?

Yes.

Nothing's left.

According to your speculation,

I checked the namelist

of Dong Mountain Village.

And find someone that

matches Madame Shu perfectly.

Who?

Dong Mountain Village

has many leaders.

And one of the leaders’ daughter,

is called Liao Shuyi.

She and the son of the main leader, Dong Zichun,

are childhood sweethearts.

When brother suppressed the village that year,

Liao Shuyi and Dong Zichun disappeared.

So, I suspected that

this Madame Shu

is the missing Liao Shuyi.

That’s to say, the missing Do Zichun

is still alive.

Very likely.

We can question her.

She endured in our mansion for eight years

and waited for a chance to revenge.

Besides, she has never been found.

It must be very difficult

to get any information.

We can only wait and observe

what she will do next.

Brother, that Dr. Tian.

He told me something he knew,

but also hid something.

But he is no longer a suspect

in the infanta's case.

My lord, Madame Shu left the mansion.

But…

But what?

She came back.

She came back?

It seems that Dong Zichun

has deserted Liao Shuyi.

I sent some people to secretly follow Liao Shuyi,

and use her to trace

the man behind her.

The man behind is quite clever,

and figures out my plan.

You're quite right, my lord.

According to the servants,

Madame Shu, no…

Liao Shuyi,

looked quite nervous when leaving the mansion.

And when she came back,

she looked quite depressed.

- Sheng Anhuai. - Yes, my lord.

Send people

to seal Madame Shu's Xishou Court.

Yes, my lord.

Zheng,

go check where she went

after leaving the mansion

and who she spoke to.

Got it.

Slow down.

- Come on. - Wait.

Slow down.

Look over there.

So interesting.

Young master, Madame Shu was held at Mansion Ji.

Maybe the poison thing was found out.

Send a letter to my adoptive father.

Tell him that Shuyi was found out.

Let him come back first

and we can plan the next step.

So what about Madame Shu?

You want to ask why I don't save her, right?

I dare not.

But I just don’t understand,

Madame Shu asked to see you with secret codes,

and she already left Mansion Ji.

Why didn't you...

Do you really think that

she could leave Mansion so easily?

You're looking down upon the Ji brothers.

What young master means…

They want to arrest you

using Madame Shu?

As is the case,

she must know what to do.

And we don't need to worry about that.

Yes, my lord.

Shuyi, I promise you.

I will kill the whole Ji Family,

a life for a life.

Dr. Ding, are you hungry?

Have some snacks.

Thanks. Thanks.

Look at him, why in such a hurry?

Doctor. I haven't seen you in ages.

Why don't you come to my place?

Sure. I'll leave you to work.

Tian Qi. Tian Qi.

Tian Qi.

Tian Qi.

There is a big news. Don't you know that?

What happened?

The General has find out that

Madame Shu is the one that killed Infanta Shuncheng.

The General has found it out?

And the General

is enraged this time.

Mercilessly,

Madame Shu

is held at her Xishou Court.

And all the servant girls working there

are sent to jail.

Dr. Tian. The General wants you in the study.

- Go. - What are you doing?

Please let me go.

We are wronged.

We know nothing.

We really know nothing.

Be honest.

We really know nothing.

If the General

has found out that Madame Shu killed the infanta,

he must know the method and process

she used.

That is to say…

the General knows it.

He knows everything.

Tian Qi.

Do you have anything to say?

I…

Okay.

The General is kinder than you thought.

If you're totally loyal to him,

and plus my protection on you,

maybe you can keep your life.

Never mind. I have no choice.

Just believe in flower angel.

Be loyal to General J.

Tell him all the truth.

Please forgive me, my lord. I am guilty.

For what?

My lord.

Actually, I've already found out

the cause of death of the infanta.

But I didn't report it in time.

Are you looking for this?

Yes.

I found that they sewed the poison

in my belt.

After knowing it,

I burnt the belt.

So why didn't you report to me?

Because… Because…

Because of what? Tell me!

Because I'm afraid of death.

If you're afraid of death,

why do you tell me the truth now?

Do you really think

if you tell now,

I won't kill you?

Do you think all will end

with my death?
