Master, you going to practice playing the Chinese zither today

As the dome-like heaven embraces the vast earth,

the Chinese zither's surface could be regarded as the heaven while its base could be seem as the earth

It's said that Fu Hsi made the Chinese zither out of candlenut, strings out of rope, harp out of mulberry silk

The Chinese zither was 121.67cm long with five strings called do re mi sol la

King Wen of the Later Zhou Dynasty then added another string in memory of his late son Bo Yikao

Later, King Wu added another one when he defeated King Zhou, and the Chinese zeither has seven strings thereof

As Rome was not built in a day, you need to remember the place of each note,

together of which is 13 notes that played by both hands

After that you may learn how to play the Chinese zeither

I wish nothing but that practice makes perfect

Do you think you're the only one working hard here?

Oh please. I promise I will work even harder

It's a bit late for you to learn this

What you need is not a gradual learning approach but a more opportunistic one

The reason why the master of Gui Hua City calls you as Wan Mei is because of your enchantment

Enchantment is not mincement but the charm outflowing your body, which lures others to approach you unconsciously

While others take the Chinese zeither as a friend, you take it as a foe

While the Chinese zeither were justice, then you would be evil

While enjoying the Chinese zeither feels like bathing in breeze, you would only terrify the rest

Playing the Chinese zeither is not to get people's mind connected but to confuse and poison them

Rather than relieving the uneasiness of mind,

it provokes people's soft side, leaving them besieged on all sides and making them feel weak

Therefore, it'd better to settle each tone on your enemy's weakest part and make no mistake

Now relax your shoulder, tighten your jaw

Don't stare at the Chinese zeither but your audiences

When you're ready to play, play it softly,

like feathers dancing in the wind, and snow melting in silence

After years of homeless life with not enough food to eat, you look pale now

And you would get worse if getting greedy on food with no control

Different kinds of dance require corresponding dresses

As Seven-Merit Dance requires the dancer to dance in armor and show her softness in solidness,

you may choose it so to cover up the your deficiencies in manners

Show your slender waist and move in graceful manner

Wave your arms with long sleeves floating and fingertips free

Meanwhile, you must look aloof and detached but keep eyes gentle like water

Be careful

You need to keep one bell away from the other

Master, you have entangled nine strings

And therefore, I would call it a day

We will continue tomorrow

You'd better have some

We will continue tomorrow no matter you eat it or not

How dare you

I met with sister Wan Xiang's shadow earlier and he's way more obedient than you

You do this to me because I'm a stranger, don't you?

Won't you be afraid of being replaced if I were angry enough to make a call?

Pardon me

Being obedient is not my thing

Here's the thing

You may not choose me at the very beginning, but once you did, you cannot go back

According to the rules in Gui Hua City, I cannot be replaced unless I am dead

One more thing, you shouldn't call master Wan Xiang as sister

No one could be your sister here

What?

No big deal I wasn't seeing clearly just now

It seems to happen from time to time lately

Maybe I'm just too tired

Then let's call it a day

But I haven't finished it yet

You haven't made progress lately and if you continue like that, you won't go far

What a relief

Why do you take me here?

Master, please jump into the water

What are you talking about?

I can help you if you don't dare to

Are you nuts?

It must be a big crime if you plan to murder me

It's just a cold

You will be fine with some good rest

Why haven't you dealt with the wound?

According to the rules in Gui Hua City,

Shadow is allowed to teach master and the master has rights to punish Shadow

Shadow cannot deal with any wound with master's permission

There're just too many rules here

All rules are made by man

If you become that man, you may set yourself free

You sound ambitious but why would you end up being a Shadow that takes order?

It seems that master Mei feels better now

Would you like to practice sound source positioning tonight?

You know, you've been left behind since you didn't feel well

You don't really take other's life seriously for your own safety's sake, do you?

Freeze!

Come here!

Why don't you run?

Master, every shot should be fatal, or you will get yourself killed

Drop it into your ear. It's good for you

What's it?

Does master still remember the girl who fought for master's name on master's day one in Gui Hua City?

Her fingernails were mixed with poisonous insect from Kunlun

That's what it is

It's good for refreshing and making your ears more sensitive

What the hell is Gui Hua City? Can I just leave now?

Ahhh Chang An Don't touch me!

What are you doing? Leave me alone!

Look at her legs

First is to heat the iron until it melts,

then put her legs into the melting iron so to ensure she couldn't run away until she dies

Just like what you said earlier, she said she couldn't bear it anymore and wanted to leave

Because the master didn't allow her to do so, she tried to run but failed

This is the punishment for a much more serious crime

Once you enter Gui Hua City, there's no way to leave

There's only end for the dead Wan Mei

Nothing left anymore, not even skeleton but floating dust

Chang An

Please get back the hairpin that was used to stab me, master Mei

Master, you did it. Please come back here

Tomorrow will be the day to elect Di Sha

Master cannot see anything under water, can you?

The rouge you received on the welcome party ain't no award but poison

What are you talking about?

Since the rouge has been mixed with the corpse power of poisonous winter cicada,

it would blind you once you are in the water

And the colder the water is, the worse you would be

Hence, the location of Di Sha election must be the chill water

Is it the reason why you asked me to jump into the lake once and once again?

Why don't you let me know earlier?

Master has been holding grudge on me these days

And it's right to do so, because that grudge would also bring up unimaginable power out of you

I shouldn't have blamed you

No need to

I did it only for my own safety's sake

What master needs to do now is to stay alive so as to let the master be aware of your value

You all must know that being a beauty is not the reason why you would be alive

Therefore, the Di Sha election is neither beauty contest nor intellectual combat,

but to test your endurance and observation

Under this cliff is there the chill water, which has already existed even before the foundation of Gui Hua City

At that time, At that time, Gui Hua City wasn't called Gui Hua City yet

It was owned by Empress Wu Zetian

and managed by Shangguan Wan'er

with an aim to murder the officials that tried to seize power

So the task for you all is to jump into the chill water, and find the stone tablet that fell from this cliff years ago

There're four characters carved on the stone tablet, which means the original name of Gui Hua City

Whoever finds it out first could have a green light to be Di Sha

As for the rest, it's up to the master to decide your fate based on your value

Are you okay, Miss Wan Mei?

Do you want to quit now and let me decide your fate?

Four characters? It must be another stone tablet

Alright, girls What's your answer?

Chong'er

Just these two characters?

However, there're inscriptions on the cliff called Zang Qin Cliff Just these two characters?

However, there're inscriptions on the cliff called Zang Qin Cliff

You did well

You're the best when it comes to appearance

Who else has the answer?

What a pity!

Tonight is such a beautiful night with a clear moon, but you are all blind under the water

Under this circumstance, may I announce that the winner is Wan Xiang?

Is it Feng Yue Wu Bian?

The inscription says Chong'er, but indeed, it means Feng Yue Wu Bian

Well done

It's not the first time that to elect Di Sha by this test

However, Miss Wan Mei is the second one to have this right answer besides master Cha Luo

I am already a dead man if you didn't teach me to read people's mind by sound source positioning

When the master said that tonight was such a beautiful night with a clear moon, she was quiet proud of herself

I was wondering why she described a wonderful night in this way among all others

And I figured that must because she knew the answer

The inscription Chong'er actually means Feng Yue

It wasn't easy

Anyway, I survive by myself

There're only twelve Di Sha in Gui Hua City, and now there's only one vacancy with two candidates

If nothing goes wrong, there's only one survivor between master and Miss Wan Xiang

Now that we have two Di Sha candidates, would master arrange another task for them?

Since she made her way out under tonight's special arrangement

I'm afraid she could deal with any common task

I may have an idea

Go ahead

Master may assign Chief's task to both Wan Xiang and Wan Mei

On one hand, the Chief wouldn't accuse you for favoring Wan Xiang

On the other hand, it would be even better if Wan Mei fails

Then I could have a good reason to take her life

By the way, does the investigator find anything?

Not yet

But I believe we could find someone to fight against the Chief sooner or later

Chief, I did whatever you told me to I was extremely careful when I cook medicine and I am sure that no one would know it

Are you alright?

Chief

I am fine

He's dead

He must be assigned by Cha Luo and his body would be taken care of soon enough

They've gone too far

When my mother took over Gui Hua City,

she helped Cha Luo become the master of Gui Hua City but destroyed Xing Feng

Hence, Cha Luo hated my mother but was not strong enough to fight against her

Since my mother has been supported by the former emperor,

she could barely do anything even if she plans to overthrow Ting Zhu House

However, my mother has been missing for years and now I become the Chief of Gui Hua City

It could be a good chance for her to realize her dream,

so she sends people to test my ability from time to time

I assume that you've already got used to it, haven't you?

I don't think the Chief should allow it happen anymore

Still, I'm not as powerful as my mother

But I will surely let her know when to stop if necessary

Bi An Palace?

Don't ask anything after you enter Bi An Palace

Just follow Miss Yue Ying's instructions

Won't you go inside with me?

Shadow isn't allowed to enter Bi An Palace

Miss Yue Ying

Here's Wan Mei

Here's your umbrella

There you go

Is it the red devil umbrella?

Not utill the ensete lasiocarpum blooms on it

Do the umbrellas outside have no master?

Their masters are long gone

Alright, you may leave to check out your mission

Yes

To take back the Guajian herb and kill the great doctor Shen Mo on February, Tianyou year twelve

What does it mean?

It means that master's first mission is to kill the great doctor Shen Mo and take back the Guajian herb
