What's animus?

The regretful feelings of the dead. They cling to their past life and refuse to die.

Whenever crystals get infused with animus, they create powerful undead monsters known as vengeful spirits.

Andy was one of those.

Necromancers such as myself can make use of those powerful spirits

and connect with their souls to purify them.

It can be considered a form of salvation, since they are bound by their own hatred.

However... this place is like none I've ever seen.

The depth of pained animus that runs through here surpasses any normal dungeon.

Sounds like we're walking into big trouble, then.

Anything we should watch out for?

I shall lead the way and disarm the traps.

with a skill known as "Identify Jammer."

I've noticed there are fewer kids around here.

But, luckily, I was able to reunite with my two friends.

And the girl had wounds all over her body.

It has been oddly quiet today. Were there just no experiments or what?

After experimenting on me, they wanted to see how much would regenerate, and cut off both my legs.

From what I gather, this laboratory is for turning living humans into undead monsters.

They're apparently going to infuse me with animus while I'm still alive.

I bet none of them are left. The animus of my two friends must be part of all this.

The idea was for him to resist being absorbed by the Undead Eater,

and take it over with Erosive Fusion instead.

But I thought my plan had failed.

It took a few years, but I pulled it off!

As I recall it, the Undead Eater was a gargantuan fiend. Yet you're quite small.

Yeah. It turns out this body can take on different forms.

Since I found it difficult to move at such a huge size,

I tapped into this form that was left behind in a stream of consciousness.
