It... transformed.

A New-Type...

What the hell is this?

Why doesn't he fire?

It just happened by chance? Hey!

If you don't know what you're doing, turn it back into a blade!

It won't!

Jeez!

He doesn't know how?

Vajra made it all the way here!

Crap... What a drag.

Sakuya! Start taking down the Aragami along the perimeter to distract Vajra.

Soma, stop him in his tracks!

I'll handle the rest.

Let me do something too.

You go and hide with Eric.

That Aragami's a strong one, right?

Like you'd be any help with that bat.

Cripes... Sakuya, show him.

But... take Eric to safety first.

Hang tight until we get reinforcements, Eric.

I'm okay. Go on.

Hey, what's your name?

Lenka Utsugi.

Thanks for saving me. Don't die, Lenka.

This is the trigger. The safety is here.

Press both for rapid-fire. Got it?

You're with me, so stay close.

Let's go.

Sakuya...

Sakuya Tachibana. That's my name.

Mutual trust is critical on the battlefield, Lenka Utsugi.

I get it, Sakuya.

Go!

Hey, wait!

What the-?

Sakuya, help him!

Hey!

Aw man, this is not good.

Episode 2 "Lindow Amamiya"

His vitals won't stabilize!

Administer 130 mg of the Bias Factor!

We managed to keep you alive.

Where am I?

You are here for disobeying orders.

And you'll be detained until the Board of Inquiry

renders its judgment.

D-Don't go! What happened after that?

I should never have let you go.

I hear that New-Type's a rookie who was still in training.

Does that bother you?

Not really.

This is...!

It was in the uniform he threw off.

Surrender his God Arc?

He disregarded orders and rushed to the battlefield...

Is it wise to put a valuable God Arc in his possession?

Only a few are able to control a New-Type God Arc.

That may be so in the Far East Branch...

What about the other New-Type?

That New-Type departed the Russian Branch and is in transit.

Is there even a need for two?

Not a single branch is failsafe.

They're forced to fight day in and day out, and pushed to the limit.

First, we need a detailed report...

We are grateful to the Russian Branch Director.

Hey...

You?

Don't you ever get cleaned up?

You didn't get killed.

Oh, you mean two days ago.

Two days?

I'll say this, though. You've got balls.

Since you're standing there, I assume we won?

Well, Vajra is destroyed at least.

That's good.

I'm glad.

But... at what cost?

What do you mean?

He died.

Eric's dead.

Time for your medicine, Alisa.

We're halfway to the Far East Branch.

Nervous?

Not really... At least you're here too, Doctor.

You're tough, Alisa. You'll be fine.

You'll get used to it in no time.

Besides, there's another New-Type there.

A New-Type?

I don't know if he's as good as you though.

Dr. Oguruma...

You know there's no God Eater who's as good as I am.

What do you mean?

What happened?

This is not good.

Leave him.

Or you'll die too.

Sorry, Soma.

Not gonna happen. Or did you forget my orders?

Everyone gets out of this alive!

Lindow! I'm out of ammo.

It's coming. Hurry!

Stun grenade!

I used them up!

Aw crap...

We barely missed getting incinerated.

Formation B!

Surround Vajra!

Hey, Lindow, you owe me one.

In your dreams, Tatsumi. You guys are late.

You owe me a drink.

You get me every time.

Take care of that idiot, will ya?

Where're you off to, Lindow?

I said I'd care of that bastard.

Excuse me...

When he regains consciousness, I'd like to thank him...

Eric!

Above you!

Eric!

Any last words...?

Eric... saved me?

That thing... Is it accurate?

The Russian Branch?

At this rate, the Board of Inquiry will revoke his qualification to be a New-Type.

The center of the Aegis Plan is right here, the Far East Branch.

And it requires massive Oracle resources.

Confiscation of a New-Type will be a huge loss.

Any bright ideas?

What a headache.

I sure don't envy you.

It's all part of being in charge.

So what are you thinking, Major Amamiya?

I don't care if I'm dismissed.

But orders are orders.

What about you?

Whoa, that's a scary look, Sis.

Don't call me that when we're on duty, brat.

To Eric!

It's tough to accept...

when only the God Arc returns.

Oh, that's right... Someone on the rescue squad heard this from Eric...

What'd Eric say?

Lindow...

Hi... You were saying?

Utsugi tried to save Eric...

and attacked the Aragami without a God Arc.

Huh?

Utsugi? You mean the newbie?

Yes. Can you believe that?

I heard even Eric laughed that he'd never seen such a thing.

There was another fool like that...

long ago.

Who would that be?

Let's see... You know, I don't remember.

Did you really fight without your God Arc.

Would you have run away...

and left a comrade to die just because you're unarmed?

What was I supposed to do?

Teach me!

How to fight! How to protect!

We just received a distress call.

1st Unit will leave immediately.

Your orders are to escort the New-Type safely to the Far East Branch.

We'll even gift wrap it...

is what I'd like to say, but...

Soma is out on a separate mission.

Sorry, it'll just be the two of you.

I have no replacements.

That's a harsh mission for just two of us.

Actually, you have a replacement.

Tell me you're joking.

If he's willing, why not?

He'll be put under surveillance.

That's up to you.

You have two choices.

Stay here and wait for the Board's decision.

Or go out and prove to them that you are worth something.

Only you can decide.

As if God will save me if I just wait here.

I don't believe in prayers anymore.

I'll turn this situation around...

and show 'em what I've got!

Get out, Lenka Utsugi.

I'm bailing you out.

But get one thing straight.

I don't approve of this.

Naturally, we'll be watching every move you make.

So be grateful...

and don't let Eric's death go to waste.

I only give three orders.

Don't die. If your life is threatened, run.

And hide.

Then wait for your chance, and kill 'em!

That's four.

Don't go in the wrong direction.

It's absorbing the genes and evolving at an amazing rate.

Unbelievable. If only we could unravel more of its mysteries...

We could apply it to other fields.

It's an all-purpose cell.

All-purpose, eh?

If this is so, proprietary evolution becomes a possibility.

Impossible.

If...

If it evolves at this speed..

I'm going out. Please open the hatch.

A New-Type?

I don't need to be rescued.

That girl knows exactly what to do with her New-Type...

What about the old types?

Old-types can keep on doing what they're used to doing.

Old-types can keep on doing what they're used to doing. - I'm counting on you, New-Type.

- I'm counting on you, New-Type.
