How was Vermont?

It was good.

I'm just getting back now.

It was colder than I thought.

I should have packed more layers.

I could have told you that.

How were the slopes?

Were they very crowded?

We didn't end up skiing.

Well, what else is there to do?

We just stayed in the house, mostly.

I see.

You used to be such a good skier.

It must have been beautiful there this time of year.

Have you taken any trips lately?

This past weekend.

Not since the holidays.

We were in San Diego for Christmas.

It's gorgeous up there.

Find a nice cabin in the woods.

We fixed up a house in Castleton.

We like that it's a little out of the way.

Half hour to Killington, four hours even from the Upper West Side.

The house is small, but it's usually just the two of us.

The town is dead quiet in the winter, actually.

Everything opens back up again when it gets

warm, and you can sit out by this little lake.

We'll spend most of our summer there.

There's still plenty of work to do.

Are you a skier or a boarder?

I used to ski.

Oh.

Vermont.

Change in scenery, I guess.

So, how was Vermont?

We were snowed in.

Sounds romantic.

Sounds isolating.

Mostly just cold.

Someday I know I'll be walking along the street or reading a book.

And suddenly it will all come back to me.

Everything here.

The way the lake looked, the sudden storm, the snow-capped mountains.

Things you just never forget.

But I have to go home first and pack.

We might wake up the car to save me, but... Oh, I promise I won't make a sound.

I'll be quiet as a mouse.

Yes, but... Please.

I just want to be with you.

Alright.

I'll try to get the car started.

I'll block you.

What've you been up to recently?

I was just in Vermont.

I love Vermont.

The car has stopped.
