Episode 43

Take Murong An back to the palace and await her punishment.

Your Highness, the demoness is quite audacious.

This has affected your reputation.

I would like to request Your Highness to punish her severely.

You are correct, but I still need to think about her final punishment.

Your Highness, I know you are very magnanimous.

Why could such a demoness wears the same bracelet as mine?

If Your Highness is really going to exile her, I hope that you will

remove her bracelet and send her to the Cold Palace.

I believe my father will not complain then.

Remove her bracelet.

No need.

I will do it myself.

Your Highness, don't be angry anymore.

The bracelet complements mine.

Wife, I let you suffer. Let's go home.

Your Highness.

How is Murong?

Madam Murong has closeted herself in a small island.

She doesn't want to see anyone.

Did she say anything?

What should I do? I clearly didn't want to harm her.

But everything that I have done

Bit by bit is mistreating her

Tell me. What should I do?

Your Highness. You must be patient from today.

I think Madam Murong understand Your Highness took a painstaking effort to do this.

You took it off.

Your Highness. You personally customised this.

Are you really going to destroy this?

This has already been tarnished by someone.

I don't need this anymore.

This... yes.

Your Highness. Where are you going now?

I'm still worried about Murong.

If Prime Minister people know...

In Wulei City, am I the King or is he?

Yes.

Murong.

Murong.

Murong.

Murong.

Don't leave. Don't leave me.

Shut up. Who gives you the right to say this to me again?

You don't want me anymore. Why do you still need to go after me?

I came here not because of you.

Are you there because of that bandit? You are here to kill me, right?

I will kill you first.

Kill me if you want to.

I only want to tell you that I'm here because of my heart.

Your heart?

Yes. I promised you that

I will leave my heart for you.

What a joke. That heart of yours

has already turned into a cold hard stone.

No. I had no choice but to do all of this.

You will understand in the future.

How should I wait?

You have already given the bracelet to that bandit.

Didn't you wanted to grow old with her?

I have already destroyed that bracelet.

Why?

Because it only belongs to you.

Murong, don't worry.

My heart has never changed.

I had my reasons for doing this.

It's because the Chen Kingdom is not strong enough.

My power base isn't stable enough.

I had no other alternative.

but I have only you in my heart. You must be patient and wait.

How long should I wait then?

Wait until I reach the pinnacle of power.

I will definitely give you an explanation.

Because in my heart, I love only you.

I have never given my heart to anyone else.

Fine. I want to see then

who your heart belongs to.

Okay. If you really wants to see,

I will show it to you.

Why did you do this? Why do you need to do this?

I only wanted to prove that

there is only you in my heart.

I don't want you to leave me.

Madam.

His Highness went after that demoness yesterday. What happened after that?

I don't know. No one has any news of what happened yesterday.

How is that possible?

It can't be that His Highness

wasn't together with her yesterday?

I am not clear. No one knows about His Highness' situation yesterday.

The news has been sealed very well.

Madam. That demoness attempted to assassinate His Highness.

She has been sent to the Cold Palace.

She attempted to assassinate His Highness? And has been sent to the Cold Palace?

Your Highness.

Your Highness. How is your injury?

It's only a small injury. I'm fine.

Really? You are not lying to me?

Don't worry. I'm fine.

If you say so, I'm relieved.

Your Highness. Have a peaceful rest.

I'm taking my leave.

Since you are here, don't leave.

Is there any movement in the Palace?

His Highness has sent the demoness to the Cold Palace.

Furthermore, he doesn't allow anyone to see her.

Where is Madam?

My Lord, please don't worry.

Ever since the demoness has been punished,

Madam has already been staying with His Highness for three days.

Madam is extremely favoured by His Highness.

Good. Su Heng is indeed sensible.

Then the peace negotiations between Chen and Zheng

that His Highness told you to take care of...

Since Su Heng is being so sensible,

then I shall try my best.

Prime Minister is coming

The Prime Minister is here.

Your HighnessPrime Minister, no need for courtesy.

I appreciate your work as ambassador to the Kingdom of Zheng,

successfully negotiating a peace treaty for Chen.

I have not disappointed Your Highness.

Prime Minister, you have worked hard. Please.Thank you Your Highness

From His Highness' edict:

Prime Minister Liu contributed to the success of

peace negotiations between Chen and Zheng.

I now confer upon him the title of Grand Preceptor.

Why is it so dark?

Why light so many candles?

What kind of run down place is this?

I do not care about having places like this.

It's just like a forest.

This really is a land of idyllic beauty.

His Highness is biased

to let that demoness live in such a nice place.

She has already lost His Highness' favour. Why should Madam care about her?

She came from the water -

no wonder she likes gloomy places.

Sister. Why is your face so pale?

What's wrong?

I know.

You must be thinking of His Highness.

Let me tell you. Men are like this.

They fall in love with whoever they meet.

He won't let me go every day.

He gives me jewels and golds, and allows my father to take up powerful positions.

He is so passionate to me now. I can't even push him away.

Get lost. Don't dirty my place.

Your place?

Doesn't every places here in the palace

belongs to His Highness?

You are right. This is your place today

but I wonder if it will be my place tomorrow.

Who can get favor in the inner palace,

that person can live boastfully.

Big Sister, you have been thrown away now.

- You... - Me? What's wrong with me?

Big Sister, are you hoping that I can go tell His Highness

and tell him to give this to me?

If I were to live here,

what will you do?

You...

The chaos by the borders has been calmed.

We have also signed an alliance agreement with the Kingdom of Zheng.

It brings happiness to the people of the Chen Kingdom.

Today's festival is to celebrate the Prime Minister's success!

That the Prime Minister can help me,

is our fortune!

Congratulations, Your Highness.

Let me give you a toast.

Okay.

Everyone please sit.

Start the dance and music.

Your Highness. You have succeeded.

What do you mean?

The soldiers you sent to ambush the Kingdom of Zheng have succeeded.

They have already signed the agreement to retreat from the borders.

This is great.

Old Master. Did you hear that His Highness sent the troops out?

How did he suddenly let the Zheng kingdom

and sign the withdrawal agreement?

How would I know that

Su Heng wanting me to negotiate a peace treaty with Zheng

It was just a method of dragging out time.

Then he goes to ambush them!

Right now, our Liu family's relationship

with the Kingdom of Zheng has shattered!

I have also lost my value.

In Su Heng's eyes,

I'm no longer important.

Old Master. Then, His Highness,

what will he do to us?

Didn't he invited us to the banquet?

I don't know. I really don't know

what Su Heng is thinking of.

He's ruthless.

Is he trying to suppress your power?

It won't stop here. Coming up,

what move is he going to make?

I heard that His Highness brought back Madam Murong.

What? She escaped from the palace and she has been caught again?

- Yes. - Where is she now?

I heard that Madam injured His Highness.

Did she die?

No.

I know. Leave.

Thanks.

Looks like we need to take action again.

Don't come here.

Don't be afraid. I won't hurt you.

I heard that you haven't eaten for two days.

Come, eat something.

I've heard from the owner that

you are willing to be a servant in the kitchen

and not willing to be a lady.

Two days ago, a landowner

wanted to pay 100 silvers to have your first night.

No matter how, you refused.

You would rather by hungry,

then give up your purity.

Why?

It's none of your business.

Actually, I have already investigated.

You are the daughter of the previous dynasty's Marshal Nan Gong.

Because the Marshal insulted the King of Chen,

he became guilty of a crime that destroyed his house.

Thus, you were exiled to here.

But, you have the aura of the high class.

So you cannot keep living in a dirty place like this.

You checked my identity?

What do you want?

I want to help you.

Why should I trust you?

Actually, I have a huge grudge against the King of Chen too.

Have you ever heard of this saying?

The enemy of an enemy is your friend.

So I want to make an alliance with you.

If you help me to take revenge,

I will listen to you.

Fine.

This scar

was self inflicted by me.

I want the pain on my body

to remind me of myself.

You must not forget

your thirst for revenge.

What you said is true.

You can choose not to trust me but if you don't listen to me,

you won't be able to walk out from here.

Even if your integrity stays intact today, or tomorrow,

but there will come a day

when you will be forced to submit to authority.

I trust you.

What are you trying to do?

What you want me to do,

is just to stay by the King of Chen's side.

A girl like me,

other than sleeping with him, what else can I do?

But how can I take my purity

and give it to my enemy.

It has only been a few days and you are sick till in this condition?

Are you here to kick me out?

Kick you out?

Who says so?

Madam Liu said that she likes this island.

She wants you to give it to her.

She?

What right does she has to live here?

Whether she has the right or not, it doesn't concern me.

I don't want to fight with anyone.

If they want to take it away, let them do so.

I want to go back to my Enchanted Forest.

- I don't want you to go. - Let go.

I won't.

What's wrong with you?

It can't be that you are...

Why didn't you tell me that you are pregnant?

So what if I tell you?

I have given up my mermaid identity

but I still have the mermaid blood in me.

I don't know if your royal family

will accept this child.

I also don't know how his future will turn out.

I acknowledge that

this is my child.

This is my palace. I want to see

who dares to do anything to you and your child.

I don't like this place.

I don't like Chen Kingdom

and everything about the Nine Lands.

Does this includes me?

If it weren't for you,

I would have left a long time ago.

That's good then.

Stay here in peace.

I will give you and the child a beautiful future.

-Is it like this?-Madam, your hands are so nimble!

I thought I could only use my hands for swords

but I didn't think that one day,

I would be able to use the thread and needle

I would be able to make undergarments for my child.

With you here, your future child will definitely be a remarkable person.

Perhaps, he may be the Great King of the Chen Kingdom.

I don't want my child to be the king.

I only want him to live a happy life

and fulfill his own wishes

and live forever.

Your Highness, it's time to go to court.

Lower your voice. Don't wake her up.

Yes.

Madam.

Once you knew that His Highness has left,

you are awake.

His Highness treats you very well.

I have never seen His Highness

so affected by any other women.

- Furthermore... - What is it?

His Highness doesn't allow us to say

but actually, in the deep of the night,

he would come secretly to look at you.

Do you think I didn't know?

I may not understand the complications of humans.,

but I'm not stupid too.

Su Heng is doing this

to protect me.

Being cold in front of others and being caring later,

confusing the enemy.

He is doing ths

so that I won't become his weak point

and be used.

Madam, if you can understand His Highness's intentions,

then this is the best!

But I don't want to think like this.

No matter how difficult and dangerous it is,

both persons should link hands and go through it together.

For the sake of achieving one's goal,

To harm the one you love most and yourself,

Is it worth paying this kind of price?

Madam.

I am just waiting.

I know that

the only person in his heart whom he loves is me.

Because I still loves him.

It's just that

I don't know how long I can wait.

My lords, are there other matters to discuss?

If there is nothing else, we will finish here today.

I have an important matter to report!

What is it?

I am talking about the Kingdom of Chen's stability.

Please speak.

Your Highness has been on the throne for a long time now.

Yet you still do not have children.

I am worrying about the stability of the kingdom.

Your Highness should look for concubines to fill the inner palace.

The important thing is to fill the court with the next generation as soon as possible.

Yes. This sounds logical.

Do the rest of you think this too?

Yes.

Since this is the case,

then we will do as Lord Wen asks and choose concubines.

Greeting, Prime Minister.

It's her?

Prime Minister,

Ever since I brought this girl here,

I have always been personally teaching her.

Zither, painting, chess, she can do anything.

She is talented in them all.

Especially in dance and singing, no one can compare to her!

Is she a virgin?

Of course.

I put her inside where no one could see her.

She hasn't been touched even once.

Has her identity been arranged?

Greetings to the Prime Minister.

My name is Nangong Qing.

My father was once a grand general of the previous dynasty,

Nangong Qing He.

My father Nangong Qide was once a secretary.

Unfortunately the Heavens didn't look upon him fondly.

He died from an illness two years ago.

Thus, I could only

stay in the house of my aunt in Jiang Nan.

You didn't make a mistake in her identity?

Of course not! It was perfectly arranged!

Do you know why I'm letting you enter the palace?

To serve the King of Chen, Su Heng.

but I will be loyal to you.

If you betray me,

do you know what will happen to you?

I can only be thankful for your grace to me.

I know that

even if there is a Chen king in the Chen Kingdom,

But Prime Minister, you are the root of the Kingdom of Chen.

If I want to live in peace in the inner palace,

I need to be loyal to you.

Fine.

Send her there in a few days time.

Yes.

It is as you thought.

In this world,

it's rare that money can't buy anything.

Why wouldn't an old servant do the same?

What if she let's the secret out?

She won't live past tonight.

The rest is up to you.

Must we be like this?

I already said that in this world,

it's rare that money can't buy anything.

This venomous insect is the only reliable thing.

only then will you truly be under my command.

- But... - Don't be afraid.

If everything goes according to the plan,

you won't be harmed.

Think carefully about this.

Would you be willing to be with me in this dirty place,

and be bullied by all the disgusting men?

Nangong Qing.

Whatever one does,

there must be a price to pay.

Let's start.

What is your name?

Nangong Qing.

You are the newly chosen concubine?

Yes.

What is your name?

Nangong Qing.

Do you know what you are here for?

To serve His Highness and listen to you, Madam.

It's good that you know.

-She went in the early morning?-Yes.

She went pretty quickly.

Madam Liu is here.

Greetings, Your Highness.

Congratulations for getting a new person.

You already knew?

Not only do I know, I have already met her.

What do you think of her?

I think Sister Nangong Qing is extremely beautiful.

She is quite well educated too!

I believe that in future,

she will be a caring person to His Highness.

I didn't know you admire her that much.

I was afraid that you would be jealous.

Jealous? How could I be jealous?

Do you think I'm such a small minded person?

Not only am I not jealous,

I have to serve you with little sister from now on.

Fine. In future, you must guide her

and become her good sister.

Sister?

I feel like her position is still a little low.

How about you give her a title?

Okay. Then I'll make her Madam Jing.

- Greetings, Madam. - Dad.

Ping Er, leave first.

Yes.

Dad. What brings you here?

I heard His Highness has a new concubine.

This news really travels fast.

There are no secrets in the palace.

How does His Highness thinks of her?

She only stayed for one night and became Madam Jing!

He even allowed her to live in the Sishui Hall.

Isn't she just a lowly song and dance girl?

She can be of the same rank as me?

Okay.

It was I who chose her.

He has already enchanted Su Heng.

Dad.

I'm here today because of this.

Nangong Qing was sent by me to the palace.

You don't need to make things hard for her.

I understand.

Dad. Are you complaining that I'm useless?

I couldn't take over His Highness's love,

Thus, you purposely sent someone here to take His Highness away from me.

I am thinking of the big picture.

What do you mean?

Every day that this demon girl isn't destroyed,

your position in the palace will not be secure.

Can this Nangong Qing takes the place of the demoness?

Even more so,

if she really gains the favours of His Highness,

aren't you afraid that she will become the second Murong An?

She is of lowly status.

I sent someone to personally create her.

If she dares to have any false hopes,

she will lose everything in one night,

and let Su Heng sends her to the Cold Palace.

It is an easy task.

- Really? - Don't worry.

If this is really the case,

I don't have to worry then.

Royal Physician.

Royal Physician.

Miss. what is it?

Madam has finished her medicines.

We went to the royal doctor's the other day.

He said that the prescription has been changed.

I would like to ask about this.

Previously, it was medicine for the baby.

She is close to giving birth now, so we should cultivate her body.

That's why we changed the prescription.

His Highness said that records of my prescription could not be kept.

In future, you can just ask me about this.

Thank you, Royal Physician.

I will send someone to deliver the medicines later.

Okay. Royal Physician, take care.

Medicine for the baby? Could it be...?

What? The demoness is pregnant?

Where did you get this news from?

Is this true?

Yes.

I happened to hear it from the royal doctor who administers to her.

Leave now.

Dad. What should we do?

If this demoness gives birth to His Highness' child,

what should we do?

This Su Heng is really something.

Every step that he takes,

has gone past my expectations.

Dad. Don't talk about him first.

Tell me first what we should do.

What to do?

Of course, it is to not care about any price,

and kill the baby in her belly.

Royal Physician, please take care.

Sir. What's the matter?

His Highness suddenly doesn't feel very well.

He asks that you go see him.

Fine. Please show me the way.

Okay, this way.

My Lord. The Royal Physician is here.

Yes.

Prime Minister Liu.

The Royal Physician is really very busy.

I've asked you to come to my home so many times.

You were always not available.

Being able to meet you in the palace today,

it's my luck to do so.

Your words have overestimate me.

Actually, it's...

lately, in the palace,

there were many sick patients

that need to be taken care of me.

Is it because that demoness is pregnant, right?

How can you say that?

I really don't know anything about this.

Chen Meng Yao, do you still remember

who was the one who spoke in your favor

to enter to become a Royal Physician?

It was you.

It's good that you remember.

Do you still remember

what you told me?

Of course, I do.

Prime Minister,

if you have something you need me for another day,

I will definitely

do my best to do it.

Do your best to do it.

Now, the dragon throne has a owner.

I don't have the power of the past anymore.

I'm just afraid that the promise you made that day,

is just like the wind.

It disappeared long ago.

Who says so?

Even though the new master just took the throne,

but His Highness's favor to you, Prime Minister,

anyone with eyes can see it.

Your roots in the court,

actually, how can others

change it so easily?

Fine. It's good that you understand.

Do this for me.

This...

You should know what I want.
