so it is with great sadness that

closure of Burnsend Colliery.

Notices of one month will be handed
out with immediate effect,

but we would like to reassure
everyone

that all efforts will be made
to try to relocate at least some

of the workforce
to other collieries,

and some of you will be offered
salvage work in the short term.

I know just how hard
each and every one of you has worked

and fought to save this pit,
myself included.

What have you done,

It's a sad day for us all.

So, I would like to personally wish

all of you the very best for
the future, wherever you may end up.
