Episode 5

Look, the bloodstains stop here.

Let's go in to take a look!

What did you say? No one knows if General Song is dead or alive?

Our army won the battle at Jinye City.

But General Song went after Kingdom of Chen's general, Shen An,

and she has yet to return.

The army have sent men to look for her,

but there has been no sign of her! I'm afraid...

How is the princess's marriage going?

Your Majesty, all the preparations have been made.

It's just that the wedding outfit has to be fitted to the princess.

There's no need. If she finds out,

she'll make a big fuss.

But the princess and the Son of Heaven are a perfect match.

It's a wonderful honor. This...

Honor in the eyes of normal people

isn't anything in the princess's eyes.

The Son of Heaven is in the palace right now. If the princess creates any trouble,

It's a small issue if the marriage falls through.

It's a big issue if our kingdom is lost. Do you understand?

Yes.

It's cold.

It's cold.

I'm cold...

He's down with typhoid fever

and his injuries are serious. What should I do?

If he doesn't get help soon, his life will be in danger!

Cold...

Cold...

Miss...

Don't ruin your purity for me.

Shen An, my life is yours.

To let you live on, I am willing to do anything.

The king has given orders! The princess must be closely watched!

We cannot do anything wrong!

Yes!

What are you looking at?

Don't come over here! Don't come over!

You are quite daring, girl.

It's you?

In the middle of the night, you dare to sneak into another person's room?

So you live here?

I can tell with one look that you are no ordinary gardener.

That you can live in such a big place!

What? Have you especially come to talk with me in the middle of the night?

Looks like I have to prepare more candles to burn.

-Come!-Here!

The princess has disappeared! Search!

Yes!

You move pretty quickly! Hey, are they looking for you?

You are the princess?

A man and woman alone together in one room! You'll be fine because you're the princess, but I'm just a gardener!

If they find me they'll kill me! You should have said you were here to drag me down!

-How about you go out yourself?-Can you shut up?

What was that?

That way!

What's going on?

What was that sound just now?

You're talking about this sound?

Come in and search!

-Don't!-What's going on?

We don't need to search this room. Let's go!

They left.

They left? Thank you!

We can count this as you going onto my bed. Tell me what's going on.

Come.

Come!

Have you ever tried kidnapping a girl?

The princess has run away?

You cannot even keep an eye on one person! What are you doing?

-Your Majesty.-What is it?

The princess is together with the gardener.

You don't need to keep looking.

-Take back all the soldiers, don't bother them.-Yes!

What did you take me here for? The entrance isn't this way, I can't get out!

Just follow me.

The method is right here.

I will use these flowers to make us a boat!

How is it?

Are you satisfied with the way I'm kidnapping a pure girl?

I am..pretty satisfied!

Who are you? What is going on?

My eyes...

Why can't I see anything?

My eyes!

Last night...were you the one who saved me?

I got seriously injured earlier.

But what happened afterwards,

How come I can't remember how I got here?

Miss, you were the one who saved me.

Just who are you?

I fought with Shen An for three days.

He must know my voice well.

He hates me so much.

If he knew that I was the one who saved him,

I'm afraid it will cause him to die instead.

You were injured and found by me.

Last night was dangerous. To save you, I couldn't not-!

I will never forget the favor for saving me.

I will definitely repay the favor.

It was just a humane act. You don't need to think so much about it.

No! I ruined your purity.

Once I get better, I will definitely give you a good response.

I'm just afraid that once you realize who I am,

Not only will you not be thankful, you will hate me even more!

Miss, you keep not speaking.

Could it be that you are mute?

I'm sorry. That's not what I meant.

I was just curious because you never spoke.

At that moment,

I suddenly felt my heart flutter.

I think it's what those girls call your heart skipping a few beats.

But I have never thought,

That one day, at one moment,

I would feel something like this.

It's just a shame,

I had no way of knowing that this would turn into such a heartbreaking story.

-Where is the Crown Prince? -We didn't keep an eye on him.

If the Kingdom of Chen is left in his hands, what future will we have?

I never thought that we'd be able to escape so easily.

Since Shen Bin got what he wanted, he wouldn't care whether if I am at the military camp.

If I run away, he can add another crime to my name.

That is exactly what he wants.

Let's go.

I'm going to the Kingdom of Wei's military camp.

I sent out 50,000 soldiers. Not only were we unable to get new land,

5,000 men and horses were all lost!

Even General Shen's whereabouts are unknown!

Your Highness, this is all because of the Commander. He did not send out a single men in his army.

Isn't this making things look bad for you?

Your Majesty, the Commander lost his son and the Crown Prince had again fled for his crime.

How would the Commander obey your orders?

The army belongs to the king.

Is Shen Bin trying to threaten the king because he holds military power?

What do you think about what happened in court today?

Your Majesty, they are just each taking a side.

They only have one goal.

That is to use the war as a push factor

to hope that you will let go of Madam Liu.

I never would have thought, that during these years,

my wife was secretly gathering power.

It turns out that she had bought out so many officials in the court!

Really,

do you think I was being stupid?

Your Majesty is prudent and far-sighted. You must have your own plans.

Does Yu'er really understand the position of Crown Prince?

Escaping from the army is a serious crime.

The eldest prince..

To do something amazing, he must weather through many things first.

A decision has to be made for the matter of Jinye City.

Per the king's orders,

Madam Liu was plotted against by evil people.

The king has investigated everything clearly.

Right now, Madam Liu is ordered to return to Chang Yang Palace.

Please receive the orders.

In the entire camp, the security here is weakest.

Find a way to lure them away. I'll go in to do some investigation.

Yes.

Wandering Flame.

Didn't you say that you wanted to find General Song? Why did you come here?

I lied, I ran out to avoid marriage! Who told Father to marry me off to someone I don't like?

I haven't even seen him before!

The one you say you don't want to marry is...

What's up with you?

You're coughing up blood!

You're coughing up blood! Hurry and sit down! Hurry! What's wrong?

I'm fine. I'll be okay after I sit for a bit.

Stop eating!

After all that effort, I helped her run away from my marriage!

Hey! Wake up!

Hurry! Hurry up!

Round up the villagers!

-Yes! Hurry!- You cannot let go of even one!

Get him! Get them all!

Hurry! Hurry!

Let go of me!

-What do you want?-What are you doing?

Come!

Let go!

-Let go!-Get out!

Let go of me!

Let go of me!

Granny!

Let go of me! Let go of me! I know martial arts!

You dare to kidnap me? Who did it?

Was it you? Was it you? Was it you?

Your chest muscles are pretty firm.

Your Majesty, how long are you going to make me worry?

Bring him back.

Yes!

Auntie, this is too stinky!

Hurry and go!

Hurry and go!

Let go of me!

Go! Hurry up!

I am Cao Bin, the killing machine that will instill fear in all of you!

Whoever dares to run will end up like this!

Take them all away!

Take them to the battlefield!

-Hurry and go!-My handkerchief!

Hurry and go!

My handkerchief!

Hurry up!

Hurry and go!

-Hurry and go!-Let go of us!

Hurry and go!

Let us go!

Hurry! Hurry and go!

Who is it?

-I am looking for the elder General.-The elder General isn't here.

I am the highest ranking general here,

Cao Bin.

Su Yu.

The one who fled the army and caused General Shen to die was you?

How dare you! You dare to be rude to the crown prince?

Do you think you can kill me?

The Crown Prince's subordinates are indeed skilled in martial arts.

What good skill, Crown Prince! Please!

Retreat? Crown Prince, you must be joking.

The war between two kingdoms cannot be seen as child's play. How can you retreat and attack whenever you want?

This has to do with the 50,000 lives of the Kingdom of Chen's soldiers.

This is definitely not child's play.

Please do not send soldiers out for now.

Let us plan again after I return home to report to Father.

Then Crown Prince, how do you intend to tell the court

just why we cannot send out soldiers?

I cannot say.

That day I heard in the court

that the eldest prince completes his tasks outstandingly. The way I see things now,

I finally know what they meant.

Sir, don't make use of the Crown Prince title

to do whatever you want.

This is important. I ask that you consider the options carefully.

When the General is on an expedition,

unless it's an edict from the King or elder General,

Or else, I will never retreat!

Then I'm afraid you, Crown Prince, will have to put a sword to my neck.

I must fight this battle.

Since it's like this,

I will go into battle with you.

Sir!

I am the military commissar personally appointed by the King.

I think you won't have any issues?

Your skills and position are both above me. How would I dare to have any issues with this?

Good. Then I'll have to trouble you to arrange for me and my soldiers' living quarters.

I'll leave now.

Sir, this is...?

This man is stubborn, and is only loyal to Shen Bin.

Unless there is concrete evidence, he won't retreat.

Then let him see the concrete evidence! Don't we have-

No. He cannot know about the Wandering Flame.

You are afraid that..?

If they have a weapon like this, who doesn't want to own the world?

The lands are in upheaval. If the Wandering Flames are released, it will only leave destruction in its wake.

Zhen'er!

The Wei captives have been taken to the city walls!

Zhen'er, I must save you!

Those of you on the city walls, listen up!

Here are all your relatives!

Your brothers, sisters, children!

If you don't hurry and surrender, they will die for you!

Do you want to or not?

Cut the crap! We won't fall for your trap!

Kill!

Forward!

Granny!

Granny!

Kill!

Let's go!

Give me medicine!

Not these. Give me that one!

There's only one Life Prolonging Pellet. Her injuries aren't serious, are you going to waste it on her, Sir?

If you meet with danger in the future, what am I supposed to do?

Don't nag. Give it here. Give it to me!

Give it to me!

Sir. Men and women cannot be so close. You should step back.

Then you come do it.

Mother.

The elder General sent an interesting piece of news.

That brat saved the person born on a lunar day again.

And let her recuperate inside the military camp as well.

My Lord! The item has come.

My Lord!

My Lord, this isn't a long term plan!

You cannot spend your entire life being controlled by that demon woman!

I can take it.

As long as she doesn't make a move on my An'er, that's enough.

I must find a way to save An'er.

Go on.

Yes.

Kill.

The people following the princess lost them?

Yes. The Princess and the Son of Heaven are very mischievous.

All of our people lost them.

Alright then. Let them come back.

If Zhen'er is with the Son of Heaven, safety is not an issue.

Let them cultivate some affection.

Yes.

We'll be preparing for the wedding soon.

-Okay, you can go.-Yes.

-General!-I heard the Crown Prince saved a girl from the Kingdom of Wei?

Someone saw with their own eyes that when we were having an exchange with the Kingdom of Wei, the Crown Prince saved a girl.

He also sent away all the soldiers with him, and only left his closest confidante to serve this girl.

That is very interesting.

There is something even more interesting!

When the Crown Prince brought this girl back, someone recognized who she was! Guess who she is?

Crown Prince, are you well? I have something to ask you about.

I didn't think that General Cao has a habit of making a late night visit to people's tents.

So it was you, Crown Prince. Please forgive me for my rudeness.

-Sir.-Ziyan,

Didn't I tell you to stand guard here? Outsiders cannot come in. Do you remember?

I failed in my task. Please punish me.

-Send General Cao back.-Crown Prince, I just heard that-

-Crown Prince, you-!-General Cao, please.

Zhen'er.

Zhen'er.

Mu Yan gege!

Okay, it's fine now. That person left.

Don't be afraid.

Okay, he's gone. Don't be afraid.

Your injury opened up. I'll put medicine on it for you.

Come.

Zhen'er,

you are a young woman.

If there's a scar on your body, then it won't look good.

This powder is called Sorrow of Ghosts and is very useful in curing wounds.

You just need to use this, and you won't have a scar.

You...why must you treat me so well?

I don't know either, actually. Then, can you tell me why?

Mu Yan gege, do you know...

Ever since we separated last time,

I've always been thinking if I would have another chance to meet you.

The Nine Lands are so big, and I-!

So when you appeared again on the battlefield and saved me again,

I felt like this is our fate!

Do you know? I've always been thinking what I should say first when I saw you again.

Would you remember me?

How can I help you remember me?

How to tell you that all my recent dreams have been about you?

But...

Should I call you Mu Yan gege,

or is it more fitting to call you Crown Prince of Chen?

Why did you have to keep your identity a secret?

I didn't keep it a secret. I just felt like there was no need to say it.

Then continue not to let me know!

If I didn't know, then you'd always be such a wonderful person in my heart!

Why are you a person from the Chen Kingdom?

- Why are you the Crown Prince of Chen?- Zhen'er, let me explain.
