Original subtitles

Get ready.

I'm fucking gonna kill him again!

Hit it harder!

It takes you away. No, there's no, there's no, there's no, there's no,

Shit, I don't need your shit!

Oh man, this is crazy!

I can't see anything. Anyone got a lighter?

Yeah.

Here, Sarge.

What the hell are you doing with car keys, man?

You won't let me bring my car.

I don't need this, man.

I don't need this.

Man, shut up, Butler.

Shit.

Look.

Bungie sticks.

Poisoned, I'm sure.

Oh, this is great.

This is just fucking great.

Okay guys, straight down the middle.

Touch one and in ten seconds you're dead.

I want to kill you now.

What do you want?

I want to kill you now. What do you want?

I want to kill you now.

What do you want?

Where do you want to go?

Where do you want to go?

Black man, you're so stupid.

I want to kill you now.

Motherfucker! Motherfucker!

Motherfucker!

Where'd you guys come from? They're pinned down.

Tunnel was our only way out.

How'd you get here?

We're rats.

Come again?

Tunnel rats.

Tunnel rats.

Christ, now we're running a fucking zoo around here.

That's enough.

Payback's a bitch, rat man.

Put a lid on it, Butler.

Now why don't you guys go jerk off somewhere else?

In five minutes, these tunnels are gonna be cramming with gooks, and I don't plan

on being a main course.

Let's get something straight, mister.

I'm the sergeant.

That puts me in command.

You got a problem with that?

You?

Now that we have a mutual understanding... You need food?

We need water and ammunition.

Yeah, I know where we can find it.

Why should I believe you?

You don't have any choice.

How far?

Three four miles at the most, but we've got to travel underground.

It's too damn hot upstairs.

Oh, that's great. That's just fucking great Okay, right man Let's go

Thought

widow follows you I keep an eye on these guys Something ain't right.

What do you mean?

I'm not sure.

My Vietnamese is a little bit rusty, but I can tell you that that interrogation

was about some kind of covert operation.

Something really big.

You sure?

All right, keep it under your hat.

Yeah, what is it?

How could that happen?

Look, I don't want excuses, mister. I want results.

Now, you call Colonel Hawk and tell him he has just 36 hours to get back on

schedule, or his command will be terminated. Do you understand?

Yes, that's right.

Asshole.

I'll just try a few, sir.

Damn it!

Do you know how embarrassing this is, Corporal?

How in the hell did Washington find out about this before I did?

Well, sir, I rightly don't know. Never mind.

Do I have to go out in the field and find him myself?

We're doing our best, sir.

Well, apparently your best is not quite good enough, Corporal Stringer.

I trust you have not forgotten that the very balance of this war depends on the

information carried by the general.

If that information falls into the wrong hands or even arrives late, everything

we work for...

Yes, I understand that sir, but shut up and listen You go out

into the field and you find the general I Don't care if you got to kill every

son of bitch in his outfit you find him and you bring him here to me You got

that?

Where are we?

Adams.

What's your best guess?

Further north.

North, behind enemy lines.

You got it, Sarge.

How about it, rat man?

You wanted ammunition?

You wanted food?

North is where it is.

So is the enemy, asshole.

We're going south.

You're gonna die.

We got a few rounds.

You got nothing.

What we got's an edge.

We know where we are, and we know the way out.

He's full of shit, Sarge.

Don't listen to him. Let's get out of here.

And you guys think you're just gonna stroll right through the front line?

We'll go right ahead.

We're going north.

Aw, man, I knew it.

Weapons. Let's go.

Adams, stay with him. Right.

There's something really strange about those two guys.

I don't like them, Sarge.

I don't like them at all.

I don't like them either.

What are you going to do?

What do you like?

come on

Thought you could use a little help?

Yeah.

Come on.

Let's get the hell out of here.

Don't even think about it, rat man.

Who the hell are you?

Sergeant Hawkins, Army Intelligence.

That's Jensen.

Bullshit. He's telling you the truth.

We're on special assignment.

We could use your help. To do what?

To protect the general.

General? There ain't no fucking general out here, man. We're in enemy territory.

He's being held by the VC not far from here.

They don't know who he is, not yet.

He's got information that could change the whole war.

Well, he's probably dead by now. He's alive.

How the hell do you know that? We know.

I knew this was gonna happen!

Holy shit, man! I was out!

I was out,

man!

Where did that come from?

Oh, you, a big one.

Anytime.

James Holt.

Smitty, mate. Pleased to meet you.

Thanks for the help.

Maybe you can do us a favor.

Hey, glad to. What do you need? Anything.

Which one's the youth general?

What?

Which one of you's the general?

Here we go with the general bullshit again.

There's no general here, man.

Back off, shorty.

Don't want to do that, Sargey, babe.

Drop your weapons, boys.

Do it!

What's going on here?

We're just going for a little walk, that's all.

You're a dead man.

Not quite yet, Sergeant.

Not quite yet.

Move.

Let's go.

Move. I'm out already.

Take cover.

I can assure you, gentlemen, that everything is under control.

And you have nothing, absolutely nothing to worry about.

Don't stroke me, Gullivane. This scheme was your idea.

My involvement was purely contingent upon your personal abilities to bring

this project to a prompt and profitable conclusion within the time frame

established by you.

And quite frankly, General, I'm beginning to doubt those abilities.

Listen, Mr. Michelson, I told you, a project of this magnitude really ever

reaches this conclusion without some temporary setbacks, none of which, I

might add, are unsolvable.

General, our clients have nearly $100 million at stake.

They're not interested in temporary setbacks, only results.

They'll have the results and so will I.

Everything will proceed on schedule.

You have my word.

Remember, General, public officials that go down, go down very, very fast.

Let's go!

What the hell is going on around here?

I can't.

I can't. If you start talking to me, I'm going to hack your fucking head off.

With this knife, it'll take a while.

Okay. Okay, I'll tell you. I'll tell you where I am.

The general.

The general.

Look in his left hand.

Jesus Christ, mate.

Think we lost him?

Yeah,

I think so.

Good.

I'm getting real tired of this secret agent bullshit.

Yeah, well, what the hell do you want me to do about it? Come clean.

I don't know what you're talking...

I'm gonna have to kick

your ass.

Yeah, right.

Hmm.

You got a hell of a punch, man.

Thanks.

Come clean, or

we dance again.

All right.

How long you been here, Sergeant?

Eighteen months.

Why?

How many times have you and your squad taken a hill just to have to give it

back two days later?

Yeah, so what?

Don't you get it, man?

They're not gonna let us win.

No matter how many of us die, they're not gonna let us win.

Because if we win, the war stops.

And if the war stops, the money stops.

Get it?

What the hell are you talking about?

There's gonna be an armed shipment.

The shipment.

And a certain inside group in the military is gonna pull this war right

from under the Congress.

You believe that?

That's why I'm here.

Then there ain't even no general.

That's a code name.

It's the only one that knows the place, date, and time.

Well, who is it?

I don't know.

Right.

Hey, look, Sergeant. At least I'm doing something I believe in.

Maybe I believe you're full of shit.

Maybe I am.

But if there's a chance, the slightest one, to end this war, I'm going to take

it.

What about you, Sergeant?

What are you going to do?

Stay alive and go home.

I don't think so, Sergeant Holt.

Lieutenant Hawkins, not today's anyway.

Lieutenant?

Looks like you two had a real interesting conversation, eh?

Pity I missed it.

Would have saved us a lot of time.

Well, every day can't be perfect, now can it?

She'll be right, though.

Get up, you pongos!

Nice try, Sergeant Ault.

Maybe next time, eh, mate?

Move out.

Let's go.

G'day, Blue.

There's no reason for us to be enemies, Sergeant Ault.

No reason at all.

After all, we do share a certain common goal.

Going home to our families?

Getting back into our lives, as it were, eh?

Don't you agree?

Don't you agree?

Oh.

Talk nothing.

Show nothing.

That's what they taught us.

Of course.

Let's... Let's cut right through the dingo shit, mate.

One of you's.

The General.

Question is, which one of you is?

Would you care to answer me, Sergeant Oates?

of a rocking horse.

Now don't be stupid, Sarge, babe.

You give me an answer, and you'll be free to go walk about.

There he is.

Get on the radio, quick!

What is it? We believe we spotted the General, sir.

Oh, that's good.

That's very good, Corporal.

Thanks, sir.

Now go get him!

Yes, sir.

Hey! Hey!

Hey!

Hey!

Sleeping isn't among one of your current privileges, Sergeant Holt.

And don't you chunder on me, mate, unless you're ready to talk to me.

You ready to talk to me, then?

Then I shall see to it that you are promptly disturbed every 15 minutes,

mate.

Enjoy your evening, Sergeant.

Very well be your laugh.

How you doing, Sarge? Looks to me like you could use a cold beer.

Oh, what have you come for? I've been sitting outside waiting for the right

chance.

I got a love with you, Sarge. Love with the CIA.

What? The CIA.

Bullshit.

What

did

Hawkins tell you? Nothing.

Come on, Sarge. Tell me what the hell he told you.

Give me nothing.

What?

That was close.

He doesn't know anything.

Soon, Butler.

Real soon.

Yeah, right out, Sarge.

Kong Zhao, Butler.

Put him back in the shack.

Die! Let him out!

Understand one thing, Sergeant.

I get paid well for what I do, because I do it very, very well.

And if it's necessary, you'll hang here on this wall, barely alive, and bear

this suffering, as well as suffering beyond your imagination.

Days, mate.

Weeks. Months.

That is nothing to me.

With that... I'll leave you to it.

You're obviously limited.

20 seconds after I'm in, let her rip.

There's not much time.

That's our cue.

Come on!

Second girl.

who you are, but I'm so glad to see you.

You might find this hard to believe, Sarge, but I'm really on your side.

You're right.

I do find it hard to believe.

Might as well go down a billabong and fuck a turkey, butters.

Looks like we ain't gonna be able to stop it now.

We gotta try.

Get the others.

Johnny Baker 5515.

Johnny Baker 55180.

Good enough.

Glad to see you, sir.

I had a hell of a time finding you.

Yeah, no kidding.

You guys are too fucking much.

What's he's involving?

He's my partner.

Let's get moving.

Colonel's waiting.

So it's for real, huh?

Yeah, right it is.

Coming?

You two gentlemen have done a fine service for your country.

A toast.

To the end of the war.

Here for another?

After what we've been through, that whole bottle wouldn't be enough.

You ain't lying there.

Nothing I'd like better.

Captain?

There you are, Colonel.

Signed, sealed, and delivered.

And what are written here?

How long I have looked forward to this moment.

Stringer!

Well, gentlemen, if you will excuse me.

Thank you again, Sergeant.

Captain. My pleasure.

Corporal, I would appreciate it if you'd show these men out and prompt a shoot.

What? What's that, really?

You talk too much.

Son of a bitch.

Corporal, you have your orders. Now carry them out.

Sir. Move!

That's far enough.

Miss Michelson, I thought you might be pleased to know that all systems are

gone.

And that is correct.

I trust that my funds will be promptly transferred to the designated account.

Oh, right.

Thank you.

Very good.

Have a nice day, son.

Why do you think he let us go?

I don't know.

Maybe he's just not a killer.

I don't trust him.

You're smart not to.

Hold on, Sarge. Hold on. Just hear me out.

Listen to me.

And if you still want to kill me, I'll give you my own gun.

Talk fast.

I'm not the enemy, gentlemen.

Harker is.

Come again?

This whole idea of...

pulling the war out from under Congress.

It's a cover-up. It's a fake.

It's a scheme dreamed up by a certain General Delavigne in Washington. I was

sent here to stop it.

Quietly. I don't believe it. You don't have a choice.

They used you, Hawkins.

They used you and everyone else to believe they could end the war.

Why?

Why?

Money.

And as soon as Hawkins sends that transmission...

That shipment goes to the North Vietnamese for a very, very steep price.

It's too late.

No.

No, it's not.

I gave him the wrong coordinates.

I didn't trust him.

So why should I trust you?

I don't want you to.

I don't want you to tell me a damn thing.

I just want to put Harker and his people out of business.

I thought maybe you just wanted to come along.

Damn right I do.

What do you say, Sarge?

There's only three of us. Wrong again, Sarge.

Holy shit!

How's it going, Sarge?

G'day, g'day, mate.

Sorry, Sarge, nothing personal. Just doing me job.

Next time, don't enjoy it so much.

Let's try to remember, Sarge, that we're all on the same side. So what's the plan

here?

Plan?

Who needs a plan?

Come on.

All done.

Is that all the paperwork you wanted me to do today? It's really not very

exciting.

Did you have something else in mind, Miss Holmes?

Oh, I always have something else in mind.

Does it do a lot?

Of course.

This is... Top Secret.

See, that's not what you think. See, there's this guy running around...

You make that transmission right now, or I swear to God I'll put a bullet in your

other fucking knee.

Yes, I do.

Guess it's over looks that way doesn't

What? Well, what is it? What did he say?

He gave me the code.

The real code.

Yeah?

He said we should use it. Get the armed shipment.

Win the war.

Can we do it Why

the hell not

There

has been an unexpected change the shape of things in Vietnam.

Apparently, the United States has launched the largest scale offensive

since the beginning of the war against the North Vietnamese.

Though incoming reports are still sketchy, it is clear that this offensive

is making major headway in penetrating deeply into the enemy territory with no

signs of being stopped.

So much so, that some military officials have allegedly expressed their opinion

that this offensive will be the single biggest factor in bringing the war in

Vietnam to an end.

Though unconfirmed, We here at the station have just received report that

this offensive is related to an enormous arms shipment to the U.S. forces in

Vietnam. It was made without the knowledge of the president nor his

chiefs of staff, but may somehow be linked to Brigadier General George

Delivane. It is believed that an official investigation is already

underway, and we will keep you informed as the information comes in to us.

I knew you the moment I saw you. You were who

I waited for.

I knew too I'd never forget you. I knew I

just had to see more.

Is this the love I've been dreaming about? Is this the love?

i can't live without beyond the shadow of a doubt this is

a love i'll dream about beyond this

is a love i can't live

without

Oh, child, you made me free.

These gone by, the nights will embrace you. All I

need is you here with me.

Is this the love I've been dreaming about?

Is this the love I can live without?

Beyond the shadow of a doubt, this is the love.

this is the love i can't live without

is this
