Oh my god.

What happened here?

What I feared most.

Return to the main camp. Warn the others.

We are all in danger now.

Hell's gate has been opened.

This mountain will now tremble beneath the devil's tread.

And the rots will forever echo his roar.

Your unholy bloodlust will leave you cursed on this mountain.

You are damned for all eternity!

Mike, where are we?

Final pit stop.

With this snow coming in and out like this, I gotta put the chains on for the

last leg.

How are you holding up?

I think it's time to get that sores.

Hey Mike, how much farther is it?

Uh, it's about another two hours or so up the mountain. Why don't you two guys

go inside and get a drink, get warmed up.

They're such a cute couple.

Well, she's cute.

But I don't know what she sees in him.

That's funny. People say the same thing about us.

Oh, you just bought yourself a face full of snow.

Long drive.

Yeah, I actually got a few hours of sleep there.

That was probably my fault. I was telling you about a novel I wrote.

Guess it was unpublished for a reason.

Right. Sorry about that.

Need some help?

Yeah. My fingers are already numb.

Not one for the snow?

I'm from Phoenix.

Nice. I'm from Miami.

We gotta be crazy.

Yeah. Come on. Let's sit inside and get warmed up. Yeah.

Hey, Mike. You guys coming in? No.

Let's take a few minutes. You guys go ahead.

Sitting by yourself.

Yes, I am. I'm sorry.

That's okay.

So, can I offer you something to drink?

I think we're okay for right now, but thanks.

Well, you let me know if you change your mind.

Will do.

So, I see what kind of girls you like.

What?

Seems like a nice girl.

Oh, God. Men are all the same.

Disgusting animals.

Perverts. I think I'll go check on Jerry.

Yeah, you go do that.

Everything looks so tempting.

What do you recommend?

Beer. You might want to try the possum stew.

Is that a real possum? Because I don't want none of that store-bought processed

meat stuff.

You ordering food?

We'll be heading for the cabin in a few minutes.

Yeah, but we might not eat for a couple hours. Got it.

You folks about that old place up on top of the mountain?

Lots of interesting history up there.

Would you just shut up, Seymour?

I was just telling them about the fact that... They really don't give a shit,

man.

Come on, it's your shot.

So how about some of that stew?

How about a beer? I don't kick your ass out of here.

Sounds good.

All set?

This is going to be a great weekend.

Yeah. Hey, 20 bucks says Matt and Megan hook up by Sunday.

I didn't invite my friend just so that Matt could get laid.

I did.

Come on, this is the first time I've gotten him out in months.

Besides, by the look of things, I think she can use a little action too.

I don't think so.

20 bucks.

You're on.

All right.

Be right back.

Jukebox time.

Hey, love.

It's not even noon.

Baby, I'm just having one beer.

All right.

Tastes like piss anyway.

Probably is.

Hi. Hey.

You don't go down mountains.

Not a safe place.

Pretty good.

I think we'll be just fine.

I ain't joking.

Weird things going on.

Let her go.

Just having a friendly conversation.

You ain't causing trouble, are you, Seymour?

I said let her go.

You're messing with me.

No.

You ain't messing with Seymour, are you?

No, we were just leaving.

Good idea.

You best watch yourself up there.

Leave it alone.

You best be careful.

Seymour, it's your shot, man. Let's go.

You weren't actually going to fight that guy, were you?

The last time I was in a fight, I was in the third grade. And she kicked my ass.

Hey, who's our friend?

Local freak.

He was hitting a Megan, but Matt totally cock-blocked him. Yeah, and thanks for

backing me up in there.

20 bucks.

All right.

Okay, you're gonna love this place. Trust me.

It's a bit of a hike, guys.

Hey, Mr. Schofield.

Drive up go good?

Uh, fine. Everything okay here? Yeah, I got it all set for you.

Except the generator's acting up a little bit. Might have to drive back up

in the snowcat.

Well, do what you gotta do.

I love it.

Yeah, this place is nice.

Wow, it's huge.

Oh, awesome.

Check this out.

Hey, hey, Rambo. Put it back.

Yo, Adrian!

That's Rocky, dumbass.

Well, it's not loaded, right?

Oh, wow.

Yeah.

That's right.

This is bear country.

We don't always have time to load.

Bears?

They hibernate in the winter.

Don't worry. I'm the only animal you're going to have to worry about this

weekend.

Anyways, where are the bedrooms?

Right. About that.

Okay, this cabin has three bedrooms.

Obviously, me and Karen get one, Jerry and Samantha get one. And Megan gets the

other one. So where does that leave me?

Great. Come on, man. Don't worry about it.

Before this weekend's over, you two are going to be sharing that bed.

I heard that. You're such an uncouth jerk sometimes.

Hey, first of all, I'm not even sure what that word means. And I don't think

you do either.

Just come and help me unpack.

All right.

Hey.

We can take turns.

Thanks. That's okay.

I've gotten used to sleeping on Mike's couches lately.

That doesn't sound so good.

Long story.

You seem to have a lot of those.

We'll have to get the new suits brought out. I'm going to need your help

bringing out the snowmobiles. But first I wanted to show you my new room, man.

It's my game room.

Holy shit!

Is this our foosball table from college? Yeah, I found this in storage and

brought it up here. Awesome.

I remember we used to play this every night. Just hang out, eat pizza, drink

beer. Yeah, that was a good time.

What happened?

We became adults.

Fuck that.

Come on, man. Let's play a game right now. You and me. I thought we were going

snowmobiling. We got time?

Now, uh, as I remember, I was the reigning champion of Delta Phi.

Only because you never gave me a rematch. No, no, no. I gave you plenty

of opportunities for a rematch. But that's when you started dating Liz and

you were in love.

Sorry, man.

I'm an idiot. I know.

Forget it.

Let's play.

Alright. You ready for this?

Hell yeah.

You know what, actually, we probably don't have much time, so rematch later,

okay?

That's what I thought.

You ready? Yeah.

Please try not to get us killed.

Only because you said please.

You sure you don't want me to stay here with you?

No, I really want to go exploring by myself and take some pictures.

Views up here are amazing.

Okay, well, careful.

You too. Have fun.

Bye. Bye.

Hey!

Wait up!

Pongs.

Hey, where's Jerry?

Great. Alright, we'll go back and get him.

That sounded like Sam.

I

got

you. I got you.

It's okay, I got you.

You okay?

Hey. Save yourself.

What?

Save yourself.

We've been looking all over for you.

Jerry, what the hell are you doing?

Did you see her?

What? The girl.

Did you see the girl? She was right there.

What girl?

I thought I saw someone.

Come on, man. We gotta get out of here.

Yeah, it's getting really dark.

So, have you

thought out yet?

Just about.

Oh, God. If you guys hadn't come along when you did, I'd be a popsicle right

about now.

I'm so sorry if I ruined your afternoon.

Ah, don't worry about it. It was getting dark and scary anyway.

Funny. Just think of it this way, Sam. At least now we have a great story to

tell. Oh, yeah.

The trip when Sam almost got herself killed.

Woo-hoo!

Speaking of stories, Mike, what's the deal with this cabin?

That guy at the bar was acting like this place had some sort of bad vibe to it.

There's a little history to this place.

Local legend stuff.

Like what?

You guys don't want to hear about it.

Just tell us.

You ever hear the story of the Donner Party Massacre?

Yeah, they were a group of settlers in the 1800s that got trapped on a

mountain. Yeah, but not just any mountain.

This mountain.

What happened to them?

Well, they were on their way to California for a better life, but they

got hit with a really bad snowstorm crossing this mountain.

I mean, they were trapped up here for months. No food, no shelter, no hope for

survival.

It started going insane.

You just stay here and hide. I'll get your dog.

No! No! No!

Don't!

So they ate each other?

Well, in their defense, I hear we do taste just like chicken.

Oh, gross.

So what you're saying is that this place is haunted by the ghost of cannibalistic

okies?

Pretty weak, Mike.

Well, you know, the locals say that if you're up on this mountain during a

really bad snowstorm, maybe if you just kind of sit real quietly and listen to

the wind, sometimes you can hear the screams of the Donner Party victims as

they're being hacked up and eaten alive.

You are so full of shit.

Hey, I told you I got a good deal.

I don't believe any of it. Yeah, I think the only evil spirits are those in the

liquor cabinet.

And not for...

That's right.

Ah, geez.

Uh, what happened?

Oh, it's the generator.

I'll have to go outside and restart it. All right, I'll come with you.

Whew, snow's really starting to come down out there. Yeah, I don't know. They

forecasted clear skies all weekend, so... But hey, worst comes to worst, we

spend the night cuddling around the fireplace.

Let's just keep this metallic, all right, Mike?

Come on, man. You know Megan likes you, right?

I don't know. I'm just not getting clear enough signals.

What, you want her to start humping your leg?

Why are you so interested in seeing us hook up?

Did you and Karen make a bet again?

No, no. It's just, I mean, come on, man. You broke up with Liz four months ago.

And I know it's been rough, but it's time to move on.

Besides, I don't want to be the only guy up here getting laid this weekend.

What about Jerry?

Hey, if you want to fuck Jerry, that's none of my business.

Ah, okay.

Let's do this.

Come on.

Ah, shit.

Pulled my nail back.

All right.

Step aside.

You gotta choke it a little.

This is the guy who hasn't gotten laid in six months.

Hmm? Yeah, yeah, kiss my ass. All right, let's go.

Hey!

Is everything okay?

The hot tub is turning into a block of ice.

We got it running now. We can head back inside.

Oh, good. It's freezing.

What is it?

Uh, I thought I saw something.

Where are you going?

Guys, it's a fucking dead body.

Oh shit, that's Lyle.

What happened to him?

Maybe he had a heart attack.

Look at his eyes.

We better call the cops.

Cell phones don't work up here. This is really fucked up, guys.

Maybe we shouldn't mention this to the girls.

Yeah, you're right.

The girls might get hysterical.

Come on, let's get out of here.

Expecting a call?

There's no reception up here.

That's the point, remember?

To get away from it all.

Are you tired?

No.

I'm okay.

Seems like you're drinking a lot.

Sam. I just don't think it's a good idea.

What's wrong?

Nothing. Don't shut me out.

I'm sorry. I just think I'm a little frustrated with this weather.

You used to like this weather.

Remember that time that we went up to your grandparents' place?

In Vermont?

Mm-hmm.

And we made that snowman.

Yeah.

It was anatomically correct.

It had, like, penis and boobs.

Yeah. It was the world's first hermaphrodite snowman.

And probably the last.

I remember I was trying to write your name in the snow. Oh, yeah. You know,

most boyfriends would serenade their girlfriend. But you paid for me.

That's love.

Shut up.

You know, I think this weekend can be a good way for us to just forget about

everything and have some fun.

Yeah.

Not yet.

I'm still alive.

Sure is a lot of snow coming down out there.

The ancient Greeks believed that hell wasn't a place of fire and brimstone,

but endless snow and ice.

Can you imagine?

What?

What it would have been like.

No food, no shelter.

All those people.

It would suck.

It would suck.

Isn't that the best you can do with the English language?

But you're a writer.

It would be sanguinary.

Sanguinary? It means unmerciful, I think.

Okay. Got any more?

What about iniquitous?

I don't like the sound of that.

It means depraved.

Immoral.

Naughty.

Vulgar.

Bill Mannard?

Now you got it.

You okay?

Yeah. It's just... being surrounded by all this snow.

Can't help but feel gnaw and lifeless.

Or it could be God's way of covering everything up that was old and sad.

Like a blank canvas.

An opportunity to make a fresh start.

There may be hope for you yet.

What's the matter?

Nothing. I'm just cold.

Well, maybe I can warm you up then.

What? The generator needs to be restarted.

Take Matt.

It's not rocket science.

Sorry.

You wait outside.

Don't even look at the body.

Shit, the body's gone.

What? The body. Dude, it was right there. It's gone.

Oh, shit.

Mike, it's gone!

Everyone's seen where the body was. Let's get inside.

An animal dragged it off.

What animal?

A bear, maybe.

Bears sleep in the winter, Mike.

Well, maybe one had insomnia.

What about wolves?

Yeah, that could be.

Michael, why didn't you tell us? Okay, look, I'm sorry, alright? I just didn't

want to freak you out. So you guys just left him out there?

What, you wouldn't have wanted him inside, trust me.

What do you mean?

Something about his eyes.

His expression. You saw it. Yeah.

Were you guys sure he was dead?

Yeah. What?

Now that you mention it, I don't know. Maybe he was sleeping.

Hey, come on, all right? Just relax, okay?

Can we just go into town and tell the sheriff?

We cannot get down in this weather.

So what are we supposed to do? We wait.

We don't have much choice.

You okay?

Yeah, I'm fine.

Come to bed.

It was an animal, right?

Yeah, it's fine. It's nothing to worry about.

But what if it wasn't? Jerry seems to think that... Look, it doesn't matter

what Jerry thinks, okay?

I had a really bad dream last night.

About what?

You were in the woods, lying in the snow, and you were bleeding.

And I tried to get to you, but... What?

Well, you know how in dreams it's like you're paralyzed?

I tried to get to you, but...

My legs were frozen, and I just remember feeling so cold.

I mean, come on. It's just a dream.

I know, but it seems surreal.

I know. Look, come on.

Let's just go to sleep, okay?

And I promise you won't have any more nightmares.

Michael? Michael?

Michael?

What are you doing down here?

Zora? What?

Oh, God, Michael.

It was horrifying. I just had the most vivid dream.

Oh, it was terrible.

Yeah, it sounded like it.

I was in the kitchen and you were there and you were... What?

Nothing. It was really creepy.

It was just a dream, so...

No, let's just go back to sleep, okay?

Hey.

What are you doing here?

I came up here for you.

I saw you watching me at the bar, and I know you want me, so why don't you...

Relax sit back.

Let me take care of you

You've

been a naughty boy, what are you talking about?

You've been warned

Can't sleep?

No.

Me either.

I just can't stop thinking about... Hey, don't worry about it.

When we go to the police tomorrow, they'll figure it all out.

I don't know.

It's snowing pretty hard out there.

I could be trapped here for days.

Well, just for the record, I taste terrible.

Is there any wine left?

Can we please just go to sleep?

What happened to it?

Like they said, an animal dragged it away.

There's something going on here.

What are you talking about?

You know, when I was outside today with the snowmobile, I think I saw something.

It was like it was a ghost or a little girl. I don't know.

You think you saw a ghost in the woods?

Yeah.

I think he was trying to say something to me.

What?

Look, Jerry, there was no ghost or ghost girl in the woods.

You're letting Michael's story about this place get to you. Sam, I know what

I saw, okay?

There's a dead body missing right now. Doesn't that even bother you? Yeah,

yeah, we're all a little freaked out here. It's just, you know how sometimes

you can get a little... What?

Paranoid?

Did you take your pills?

No, I... Is that what you're worried about? The pills?

Don't yell at me.

You're right.

I'm sorry.

You want me to take the pills? I'll take the pills.

Good.

What's wrong?

Nothing.

I just hit my head.

Are you okay?

Yeah.

I'm fine.

So, tell me an interesting story about yourself.

Alright.

How about the time I discovered what sex was?

I was in the third grade and we went on this field trip to the zoo.

I was thinking something a little more recent.

Well, let's see.

There's the sad story about how I dropped out of med school to pursue a

writing career.

I didn't know you went to med school.

Yeah, my dad's a trauma surgeon. I just sort of followed in his footsteps most

of my life.

Then one day I finally realized I wanted to write about the horrors of the human

condition, not stick my hands in it.

Got anything else for me?

Well... There's the rather hilarious one about how my relationship with my fiance

collapsed in upon itself like a dying star.

What happened?

She couldn't stand the idea of marrying a squeamish guy who learned about sex by

watching monkeys?

Hippos, actually.

Had nightmares for months. Oh, hippos, hippos. No. No, seriously, no. What

happened?

Sometimes you have to get to know someone really well before you realize

you're strangers.

People change.

Don't tell each other.

That, and I found out she was fucking her boss at work.

Oh, I'm sorry.

I wasn't expecting that.

Literally at work on his desk.

And how about you in love?

Can't imagine any man ever doing that to you.

I'd cut off his balls.

We're drunk.

Yes, we are.

And it's getting late.

No, it's not.

Yes, it is.

Good night, Matthew.

You sure you're going to be okay in your room all alone?

Yeah, I'm going to be just fine.

I'll make sure I lock my door.

The generator went out a few hours ago.

You've been up all night?

The storm dropped a lot of snow.

Guess we'll be here for a while, huh?

You okay?

God, piece of junk.

Hey, man, did you figure out what's wrong with it?

No, I can't.

But I do know you look like shit.

Thanks, buddy.

I drank a little too much wine with Megan last night.

Nice.

Any action?

Seriously, man, just donate your balls to science.

Okay, do some good with them for once.

Are you going to fix this thing or what?

I would if I knew what was wrong with it. I mean, that's why I hired Lyle.

I don't think he's coming back anytime soon.

Wait a second.

He said he was coming back on a snowcat.

Yeah? Yeah, well if there's a snowcat here, I can take that down the mountain.

I can get help.

Come on, let's go.

Hey. Matt said you found the snowcat.

Yeah, Lyle had it parked down the hill.

Me and Karen are gonna head out and go get the cavalry.

How long will it take?

Well, it's about ten miles, so I figure two, three hours we'll get to the main

road. Be careful.

The weather seems to be getting worse.

Yeah, I'm sorry about that. I mean, they forecasted clear skies all week, but the

storm front came out of nowhere.

Hey, we're not gonna get trapped up here, are we?

No, don't worry. Everything's gonna be fine.

You okay?

Yeah.

Just a little nauseous.

I should eat something.

Yeah, it could be the altitude.

Being up here can take a while to get used to.

How's Jerry doing?

He's fine.

Why?

Nothing. Forget it.

Mike, thanks again for yesterday.

No problem.

Stay warm.

Hey, maybe I should come with you.

No, that's okay.

And besides, I'm not too comfortable leaving Jerry alone with the girls.

Yeah, you're right. He is starting to act kind of weird.

Don't worry about it, man. If I have to, I'll come back up tonight with a

snowcat. No problem.

And besides, now you have some more alone time with Megan.

You know what I'm saying?

Get the fuck out of here already. All right.

Sam.

I'm okay.

How far along are you?

Two months.

Don't tell anyone.

Does Jerry know?

I haven't decided what I'm going to do about it yet.

Okay, let's get out of here.

Are we ready?

Let's do it.

Oh, it's just me.

Sorry, I didn't hear you come down.

Remind me to never try and actually sneak up on you.

What are you doing down here?

Looking for tools for the generator.

Oh. You actually think you can fix it?

First car I ever owned was a 67 Mustang. I spent every weekend of my life working

on that thing.

Hoping that qualifies me a little.

It is freezing down here.

That wasn't an invitation.

Sorry. Am I making any kind of progress at all?

I mean, honestly?

You're a nice enough guy.

You're cute.

Fairly intelligent.

And I can appreciate all of that.

But I'm just not the kind of girl who's gonna swoon because some guy turns on

the roguish charm.

I'm looking for that...

Quality in a person that makes them special.

That lets me know I can trust them and really open up body and mind.

Plus,

Mike and Karen made a bet on us and there's no way in hell I'm letting him

win. That son of a bitch lied to me.

Alright, let's get back to work.

Take a look at this.

Isn't it beautiful out here?

Babe? Smile.

Come on, let's go inside.

Okay. Alright.

Oh God! Mike!

Mike! Jerry!

Ah! No!

Oh God!

Oh God!

No!

Jerry?

Jerry, what are you doing up here all by yourself?

Mike and Karen are not coming back.

What are you talking about?

I saw them.

They didn't make it down. They're dead.

Don't talk like that.

You just had a bad dream, that's all, okay?

Everything's gonna be alright.

Who's there?

Who's there?

He comes and goes.

You know, whatever you decide, I don't really think you should tell him.

I keep going back and forth in my head.

Jerry and I have been together for so many years.

He used to be so optimistic, so full of life, so happy.

It just seems like now it's a daily battle to make things work.

Today, I looked into his eyes and I felt like

he was gone.

Like I was looking at a stranger.

Like he had been replaced by something else. Something false.

And it made me realize... I just don't know if I can do this with him.

And that really scares me.

I thought I'd find you down here.

Still obsessing with that scrapbook?

This cabin has some really interesting history.

Even a murder.

Ooh, murder.

Now it's starting to get interesting.

In the 1940s, a doctor bought this cabin and brought his family up here for

Christmas. They were snowed in for over a month.

He killed them with a hunting knife before slicing his own throat.

Now that's some serious cabin fever.

Or maybe.

He was driven to insanity like the Donner Party.

You're not starting to buy into Michael's bullshit story about this

place, are you?

I don't know. After reading all these strange stories and tragedies, they all

seem to take place during a particularly bad snowstorm.

I mean, it's subtle, but there's a pattern to the timeline.

These clippings go back to the mid-1800s, starting with the Donner

Massacre.

And every 20 to 25 years, A big snowstorm hits and some kind of tragedy

occurs. It's all the way to the end where a group of skiers comes out to the

cabin. They get trapped in an avalanche and three of them die.

This says 1981.

Yeah, and it's the last entry in the scrapbook.

Then, according to your theory, this mountain is overdue for some bad times.

God, Jerry.

You scared me.

I thought you were going to try and get some sleep.

I can't.

I haven't been able to sleep since we got here.

Nice pictures?

Yeah.

I think I got some good shots.

It's getting pretty intense out there.

Guys, don't worry about it. Once the storm breaks, Mike and Karen will be

able to get back up here.

Yeah, but up here, snowstorms can go on for like four weeks.

What if this one lasts that long? It doesn't matter.

What doesn't matter?

Or I'll be dead by then.

There's something evil in this mountain.

It's stalking us.

Trying to overtake us.

I've seen them.

Seen who?

The victims.

We shouldn't be up here.

Look, they're trying to warn us. Don't you see that?

I know you all think I'm crazy.

If you're going to try and get down this mountain in this weather, then yes, I

think you're crazy. What are you doing?

Leaving. Forget about it, man.

You can't see a thing out there. You'll breathe to death. Well, I'd rather take

my chance in the snow than wait around here for whatever the hell it is to kill

us. Jerry, I can't let you. Hey, I don't remember asking for your permission.

Look, you're not thinking clearly. Just put the gun down and let's talk about

it, okay?

Talk?

Yeah. There's a lot of things you and I should be talking about, right, Sam?

Please don't do this. Alright, enough of this. Put the gun down. Hey!

Back off.

Don't try to stop me.

I'm locking the door.

No. He just pointed a shotgun at me.

Now I don't know why the hell he's freaking out, but if he wants to leave,

I'd say we let him leave.

Look, he just needs a few minutes to clear his head. That's all.

Okay, what the hell is he shooting at? He's completely lost it. I'm going out

there. No.

I'll go. You two stay inside.

What are you gonna do?

I don't know. Search the woods with him. I gotta put an end to this once and for

all. Okay, okay, wait.

Maybe we should just all go.

No. I gotta try and get the gun away from him.

He might not like the idea.

Hey, Jerry.

Matt, stay back.

I know you don't want to believe me, but there's something out there.

You're right.

I don't believe you.

But I do want to help you.

So let's go check it out.

Let's not go any further. I don't want to get lost.

Go back?

That's what they want, for us to go back and hide.

There's nothing out there. Then go!

Enough of this bullshit, Jerry. Just give me the gun.

I don't think so.

Jerry, listen to me very carefully.

We are all on the same side here.

And we need to stick together if we're going to get through this.

So please.

Just give me the gun and we can... Oh!

What are you doing?

Get off me!

Let go of the gun, man!

Let go of the gun!

My pressure will stop the bleeding.

What happened? We heard screaming.

Jerry?

Where the hell is Matt?

What?

It was an accident. I'm trying to help you. Just stay calm.

I packed.

What? My bag.

In my bag.

I need to keep pressure on you.

I'm going to get you out of here. I promise.

No one's getting out.

Where is he?

Upstairs.

Whose blood is this?

No, it's not mine. The guy from down at the bar was trying to bring us up

supplies. Jerry shot him. He's dead.

I can't believe this is happening to him.

Sam, is Jerry taking any medication that you know of at all? He's on Seroquin,

but for insomnia.

Seroquin? That's not for insomnia. It's an antipsychotic.

Wait, you mean for like schizophrenia?

He's had some episodes in the past, but he's had treatment and he's doing really

well on the medication.

Obviously.

Hey, Jerry!

They're not your friends, Jerry. They're going to kill you. Jerry!

Samantha has a secret. Don't trust them. Save yourself.

She doesn't love you. She doesn't love you.

They're going to get you now, Jerry.

You get any sleep?

A little.

What I wouldn't give for a hot cup of coffee right now. Oh, I hear ya.

So, anything from upstairs?

Nah, nothing for the past few hours.

What are we gonna do?

I've been thinking about it.

We have to get that shotgun away from him. Both for our safety and his.

How?

I say we use Sam to lure him down.

Talk him out of the room, get the gun away and subdue him somehow.

We have to tie him up until help arrives.

But that could be days.

It's gonna be days either way. I'd rather spend that time not worrying

about him going crazy with his shotgun again.

No, no. You're right.

When? The sooner the better.

Alright, I'm gonna wake Sam.

Let her sleep. It's early still.

I should take advantage of this lull in the storm and get back out to the shed.

We need to get that generator running again.

I can help.

Megan?

Matt?

Good morning.

How'd you sleep?

Terribly. We're gonna head out to the generator, see if we can get it working.

Stay down here.

If you have any problems, just yell. We'll come right back.

I'll be okay.

Jerry? It's Sam.

Listen, baby, I know you're scared. I'm really scared, too.

I'm scared about a lot of things lately.

I really need to talk to you.

Please answer me.

He killed her, didn't he?

You just don't have time to think about that right now.

How bad is it?

Well, these aren't deep.

I think I can get him out.

I'm gonna kill that son of a bitch. Hey, just calm down.

You're gonna need to save your energy for later.

What are you looking for?

Oh, fuck.

Are you sure you know what you're doing?

Just tell me if it hurts. It hurts!

Okay.

Try to think of something else.

Alright.

Why don't you tell me a story about yourself?

Alright. Did I ever tell you the one?

Where I had a lesbian experience in high school.

Really?

No.

You're hurting me on so many levels now.

Are you almost done yet?

Just getting started.

Shit heap.

Eloquent.

How are you feeling?

Like I got shot.

What are you doing?

Saving our asses.

How'd you do that?

I used to own a 65 Mustang.

Remind me to never underestimate you again.

No, forget it.

At least now I got the power back on.

Great. Now Jerry will be nice and warm.

Uh-uh.

We're going in tonight.

If we stay out here, we're going to freeze to death.

Jerry probably locked the door.

I'm going in through the basement.

But Jerry... Hey, that bastard's got to sleep at some time tonight.

What are you planning on doing?

Whatever it takes.

Well, I'm coming with you.

No. No.

Stay, all right?

You gotta save your strength.

I'll come back for you.

I

promise.

I'll come back.

If we get through this...

I'm taking you out to a nice dinner.

A nice dinner?

In the Bahamas.

Deal.

Jerry, don't.

Don't make me shoot you.

Sherry. You

alright?

Yeah.

Everything's gonna be okay.

Is it?

Yeah, it is.

I just hope someone gets here soon before the generator runs out of gas.

We just have to keep each other warm.

It is all over, right?

Yeah, it is.

See yourself What's

wrong Nothing

What are you thinking about the Bahamas
