Original subtitles

This is the Oaks, a house in the country which I read it with a summer.

As an author, I write tales of mystery and murder.

But the things that happened in this house were far more fantastic than any story I've ever had published.

I brought a staff of servants from my city apartment,

and my maid Lizie Allen, who had been with me nearly 20 years.

Lizie?

Lizie?

Yes, Miss Greenee, in the Faraday, the North.

Look, Miss Greenee, they're them servant who brought from the apartment

or talking about walking out on us.

Really?

I know they don't like it here, but I didn't think it was that bad.

They've been human things about the killer that the police called

the bat and the murders that he committed here to this past winter.

Now people are saying that he's back again.

Well, how can they be sure of that?

Does it committed another crime?

No, not yet, but that ain't say in that he won't.

Here's something else.

You've heard about the bats they have here.

Animal bats, the kind that fly?

Yes, yes.

Look what a pleasant this magazine.

This is a report from the state health department, and it says,

some of them bats is rabbit.

Well, and that ain't all.

Now there's a room record around that it was the bat himself,

the killer, I mean, that released the rabbit bats in this neighborhood.

Oh, that's ridiculous.

Well, the housekeeper would cook the buffalo in the upstairs maid.

Don't think so.

No, I can't help it say, thanks.

If hysterical nonsense likes that and scare them out of their good job,

it's there, lost, not mine.

Come on, Lizie.

I've got to get to the bank.

I'm trying to act, because he's in his back, Warner.

I'm afraid we'll have to hurry, it's nearly closing time.

I'll get you the evidence, then.

Go on up.

Thanks again.

Mr. Van Gorder.

How are you doing, Mr. Van Gorder?

How are you?

I'm very well, thank you.

You remember Lizie Allen?

Of course.

Hello, Miss Allen.

You're spending a summer with us today.

Yes, yes.

I've least the Oaks.

The home of your bank friend and John Fleming.

I've heard you have.

I was surprised.

Why is there something to remember with him?

No.

I was surprised because Mr. Fleming said he would never rent it.

Oh.

Well, I rented it from his nephew, Mark Fleming, who has the real estate office here.

He said he's not going to be gone the entire summer.

That's right.

Mr. Fleming's in the northwards now, with this position, Dr. Wells.

Oh, pardon me.

Dale, I want you to meet my wife.

We were married at Christmas time.

That must have been nice.

Leave me at once.

Oh, here she is.

Mr. Lowe.

My wife has been Gorder, Miss Allen.

How do you do, Miss?

How do you do, Miss?

For me, is then Gorder.

Oh, well, I've read every murder Mr. Yubever written.

I just adore that weird one.

The private morgue of Dr. Rick.

Even though I gave you the shivers, only the shivers scared hell out of me.

Oh, well, I really need to miss Corny kills them off of that one.

When you refer to my books, please don't call me Miss Corny.

Corny, Mr. Bailey.

I'm trying to say to see you.

Oh, yes.

Excuse me, please.

Don't be strangest though.

No, no, no, no, no.

So you're right.

Well, not quite.

Not that's Christmas.

And now I'm sure I've seen you.

Well, I used to be my husband's secretary here in the bank.

Of course, I remember.

Well, I welcome our most distinguished Mr. Back to Zene.

That's very charming, but...

Lieutenant Anderson.

Lieutenant Anderson, of course.

Chief of Detective Zene is the least.

This is Miss Allen.

How do you do?

Lieutenant Anderson is one of our favorite citizens.

He's on the banks for the directors.

Not very for a policeman.

You must have made a good thing of it.

Well, I saved my money.

That's what you mean.

It's an ear-closing time.

And I've got some business in the safety-plans involved.

Please come and see me, Mrs. Bailey.

I'd love to know you, Lieutenant.

Goodbye.

Goodbye.

Nice to meet you.

Bye, what a charming woman.

She moved into the Oaks just the other day.

That house is a proper setting for our writer of mysteries.

Certainly is.

Dick, that's the matter.

Come in here, both of you.

And he were in trouble.

When the Hines came into pick up $350,000 with the bonds

that we were holding as collateral for alone,

they were keeping our special bond.

Mr. Fleming and I are the only offices of the bank

who have access to that bond.

So, the Hines bonds are gone.

That's not all.

Other negotiable securities are missing.

From what I can gather short of a careful check,

the bank has been looted over a million dollars

worth the securities.

You'll have to notify Fleming.

I wish I could talk to him.

Unfortunately, he and Dr. Wells who deepened the woods.

They can't be reached by phone.

What is it?

I thought I heard someone on the path coming from the lake.

Had an idea it might be that guide of ours

of Samo show up until morning.

It's a 20 mile canoe trip from here to civilization.

If I'm going to get you 10 Sam has a message for me.

I thought you told him at the bank not to bother you.

I did, but they'll bother me.

Dr.

Yes, sir.

What would you do for half a million?

Anything short of murder?

Why not murder?

Too messy.

Too great of it?

A half a million?

Yes.

I've pinched a million from the bank.

I'm not kidding.

I am bezel-lit.

I thought I'd think you wouldn't do it

if you thought you could get away with it.

I caught away with it.

I'm not talking about carrots.

I could put some caution for securities

that could be converted into cash.

I have the cash.

In 10s, 20s and hundreds.

If I'm your doctor, I'll not your lawyer, why tell me this.

You'll find out why.

He's going to take the blame for the robbery.

Hey, you're the cashier.

Never suspect me.

I like Bailey.

Oh, so do I.

I love the guy.

I gave him his first chance.

He had to love a little wife.

Charming girl.

Was the best man?

Where's the million?

In my family's tomb and seen it.

In the crypt, with my father's casket.

I don't buy that charge.

None?

No.

You forget that I had you in charge when you were a very sick man.

Where you raved into L'Iriam.

I heard you talk about a hidden room.

I swear I was good to put a hidden room except in that mansion you built.

That white elephant you call the Oaks.

Look, everyone knows I have a bad heart.

I would doubt that if you were a lawyer at the bank directors,

that my heart is failed.

I had fallen from a great height here in the woods.

But I was badly smashed up.

You could shift the body back for burial.

It's not to open the casket,

due to the condition of its contents.

When you realize, of course,

we'd have to have a body to put in that casket,

which means that we'd have to deal with another taker at this end.

Of course.

Where do we get a body?

Couldn't we provide one of our own?

How about Sam?

Sam, are you all right?

Sam, where is the body as much as I do?

It's bright to feel hermit, wouldn't we miss for a long time?

Local undertaker would know him.

Not if we made him look as if he'd been a serious accident.

But if Bailey's going to take the blame,

why do you have to do this?

But you might have quit him.

In that case, I'd be a logical suspect.

I could disappear, of course,

but it's safer if they think I'm dead.

What if I don't go for this deal?

In that case, it would be too bad.

You mean you'd kill me?

What else could I do?

Now, let me tell you about the million.

I'd say you were shot in the hunting accident.

I'll look, Doctor.

If you can find another body instead of Sam's,

it's all right with me.

There's half a million in it for you.

I'll do my best.

Nice smell, smoke.

So do I, what's have noise?

Look, Doctor.

The woods are on fire.

It's coming this way.

We've got to get out of here.

I'll have the back way.

We will.

Doing a dive for by that body we were talking about.

We're going to be a good one.

We're going to be a good one.

We're going to be a good one.

We're going to be a good one.

Good.

The lady is out here.

Yes, Miss Grenier.

There's a storm coming up.

The need's going up the snow.

The wind nearly moves the door off the tinge.

Well, that's not a little my game.

Hi, I'm in a cat.

I think I lost some of the car.

Well, I'll get some for you.

Oh, I see you found the favor.

To rest at, take their boy.

Scoop them by on his bicycle.

Just chucked it in your tumble.

Watchers and let it go with it.

For a glance.

Hey.

Mr. Vic Bailey's been arrested.

Oh.

Victor Bailey, a vice president, cashier of the seated bank, was arranged before the United States Commissioner.

Alvin Fielding, charged with the events along the over a million dollars.

Why can't we leave it?

Is it a bit too with that robbery?

Oh.

Well, I see our last law this all again.

Landlord.

Mr. Doug.

Dr. Malcolm Weld is back in town with a body of John Fleming, President of the Senate Bank who was killed in a forest fire.

Mr. Fleming will be laid to rest in his family's tomb on Friday.

And I hope he stays there for what he'll need.

Well, this is his house.

And every since he died, some funny things have happened here.

For us.

The housekeeper, the cook and the buffalo said that they heard strange noises at night.

And the upstairs made sure the chief met a man without the face coming up with upstairs.

Oh, so that's why they quit and left me to run this place without a stop.

They didn't tell you miscoherent, but the truth is they were stared to stay.

But you still hear Lizzie?

Have you seen anything?

No.

No.

And even if I had, I ate a free to go.

Is there a free to be?

I'm as this recording.

As viewers in this told me once that Ghost was allergic to me.

But this death, fella, they keep talking about who lives paper.

I guess he'd be different.

I don't think you would have the same effect on him.

Oh.

What did I try and get down?

Do I have people away from this part of the country?

What does it say about the bad?

Specialty seems to be killing women.

My goodness.

Two of them in one night.

Only his victims died in the same way.

Like their throats in the ripped open with steel claws.

That's a charming little case.

Now I have to try it sometimes.

In a book.

Manning nothing just something on the McGinstone.

That's just a win bang in the door.

Pay no attention to it.

Listen to this.

One of his victims who lived for a moment after she was found.

Describe the death as a man without a face.

Honestly, this corny, I think that woman must have been exaggerating.

Let's get that heavy tapestrate.

The top of the stairs.

I know why no life heard it before on a windy night.

That sounded to a song of a steer.

I know there isn't.

Please, there shouldn't be.

There was just a noise that you hear in any old house on a windy night.

It says here that the death never leaves no fingerprints.

That's understandable.

Having no face, you probably has no fingers either.

Let me.

That's the cat rubbing its ventures.

No, I don't think so.

But I think it's something should be hooked into it.

Now who shut him down here?

The wind I hope.

It must be a lot of open up there.

Don't listen.

That's him name.

He saves me for the off.

I hope the power lines don't go down with the night's off.

I will check the windows in the living room and draw the curtains.

And then we'll go to bed.

I won't be ill enough.

I'm sorry.

I turned the last child.

I forgot to turn the wand again.

He's out there.

He was coming in.

He bought a bus to the home.

He didn't even steal the beer.

Thanks to you.

You carried out when I built all the fleas.

No, no.

I won't leave.

I'm not going to leave.

I'm not going to leave.

I'm not going to leave.

I'm not going to leave.

I'm not going to leave.

I'm not going to leave.

I'm not going to leave.

No, no.

I won't leave.

I'm not going to leave.

Are you OK?

Yes, my mum.

I'm OK.

OK.

I'll break this.

Give me the police department, please.

This is Cornelia Van Gorder.

I'm living at the Oaks.

We know about this, but it's better.

Just a moment ago, a man tried to force his way into the town.

You're not a woman.

What about your service?

Well, I have none except my chauffeur.

And he's away.

He's away.

He's back into the morning.

There was only two of us here tonight.

And we're going to lock ourselves in my room.

Now, if any of your men see anything,

will you have them call me?

I'll send all of us alone.

Right away.

Well, thank you very much.

Come on, Lizzie.

We're going to see if I'm high room.

Well, nothing can get out of this room now.

It's door seems good to solve it.

Like the door to a tomb.

I think that counter-becompetible is some extra bedding, you know?

Yes, right.

Let's see.

Huh?

No bolt.

Well, that's not so good.

What's that?

And my good woman is a bobbie trap.

Anybody tries to open this trap, so this will be knocked off.

And we'll hear it fall.

Okay.

I forgot my night things.

My room, my gown and slippers.

I'll go get them now.

Wait a minute, Lizzie.

I'll go with you.

Now don't you have time to go.

I'm going to go with you.

a minute, Lizzy. I'll go with you. Now don't you bother Miss Cunningham. I won't just

down. I told you to play. It's all right. Now only the second.

Yes. Yes. Yes.

There's a police car just outside your house and the office is in it.

Every port is in there. No sign of a problem anywhere on the ground.

Oh, the man's inside. Now, he's in the floor just outside my bedroom.

Have your men break through the kitchen door and search this place from top to bottom.

Okay, Miss Man Booter. Search tight. I will. I have a gun.

And I know how to use it.

Oh, it's a bag.

Relax. This is a police did a good job. They couldn't find anybody in here.

We both saw in Miss Cunningham.

Oh, right. All right. So he's out of way.

I can't let him go outside. I'm just trying to get some red.

There's nothing. Get out of here.

Oh, oh, oh. Oh, oh. This is Cunningham. This Cunningham. What's the bag?

Oh, not this. You've had a nice man. Maybe I did. But there was a bad end in a business.

It's flowing up. Come.

Your right home.

Oh, oh. Oh, oh. Oh, oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh.

Operator. Operator. Operator. Will you get me Dr. Malcolm Well. Oh, excuse me.

So I don't know, is number. I have no phone book up here. But this is an emergency.

Will you connect me with his office please?

I'm going to get the rain. But he's. Hello. Hello. Dr. Well, is office.

I'm going to call for Dr. Well, this is out of the moment. But if you'll give me your name and number, I'll try to locate.

What is this miss band guard of the oath? My name is just been bitten by a bat that may be red bit and she must have

treatment as soon as possible. And I was told the doctor well, was the nearest position. I'll try to find him for you.

And if I can't, I'll send you another doctor. Well, thank you very much. Oh, he's out on the case. Oh, oh, it's not the delivery.

Baby, I mean, they can be terribly complicated. Never bothered me now.

Oh, is he never had a baby? Of course, I didn't. That's what the never bothered me. Oh, is it hard?

Dr. Well, are you there, Dr. Well?

Are you there, Dr. Well? This is the operator. Your call service is on the wire. It's an emergency.

This is Dr. Well's. This is your call service, Dr. Oh, hello. I was just doing an experiment. I left the receiver all.

That's when I thought, but I kept trying it. Miss Van Gordert, the oath's calling, so the

roommate had been bitten by a bat and she's afraid it might be random. Oh, all right. Tell her I'll be right over there.

You

Who's there? Dr. Well

Come here. Good evening.

So great. They found you, Dr. Well, I reached my office shortly after you called. How is your maid?

Is she in anything? No, no, she doesn't seem to be. Did the bat get away? No, I believe it's

still in my bedroom. I could all want to examine it. There you go, Miss Alan. Now you feel better?

Dr. Well, I got the rabies. Well, I can take you better after I've examined the bat's brain under a microscope.

One thing has got a brain. Oh, you've been surprised. Where is it? I think the little darling is in that closet.

You know, it's a pity you least this house, Miss Van Gordert. Why, pity?

Well, my dear lady, I don't want to alarm you, but. Oh, laughter tonight. Nothing will allow me.

Yes, I understand. It must have been terrifying.

Many unexplainable cringes have happened here. Something about the place

your servants must have sensed it when they walked out on you. An apprehension of disaster.

Huh? Let's see.

Ah, yeah. There is all right now. Get these things going to hurt you quiet now. Why?

It looks quite normal, doesn't seem to be sick at all.

Ain't that nice? I've been worried about him.

Where you should be? From his appearance, I'd say that he doesn't have any infection.

In which case, you have a narrow escape.

Now, you take one of those tablets I left for you and I'll guarantee you a good night.

I'll drop in on you tomorrow. Thanks for everything, Dr.

I don't worry. I can find my way out. Oh, I know you can. But do let me help you.

Oh, don't forget that once I'm gone, you'll have to climb those stairs alone.

Oh, I'm all right. Time for now.

Can you shoot one of those things without shutting your eye?

Oh, Dr. There and Guns and every book I've ever written.

I don't write about things about the menu with.

Dr. There and it's a good night. Good night, Dr.

Excellent. No, no, the wind blew it down. Oh, I think.

Did you know that young Mark Fleming leads to this house without notifying his uncle?

No, no, I didn't.

Well, it doesn't matter now. John Fleming is dead and Mark's his heir.

But if John realized he would want you to leave here, Miss Van Corden. Really?

Yes. It's been a tragic place for anyone who ever lived in it.

Well, good night. Good night, Dr. There. Who's out there?

What are you worried about, Dr. There?

I'm Sandy. That's right. Oh, good evening, Mr. Van Corden.

Good evening, Mr. David.

Somebody's here. My maid was bitten by a bat.

Well, I'll know for sure when I get to my dad by a cot the bat.

It happened in dogs.

In my baby. How to get in?

Well, if they're bitten by a bat, you can get in the house.

You also know.

I spotted this hole in the window. I got here.

That's where the two-leg is back. Got your door open.

Miss Van Corden told me that she found headquarters. It's seen it.

Yes, I found twice. The second time is after theer got in the house.

When headquarters had it. No, with the contact in me.

Once again, and search the house from top to bottom, they couldn't find the bed.

You better have this window fixed tomorrow.

Oh, yes, I certainly shall.

All right, guys, better be going. I'm doing surgery day to clock the morning. Good night.

Good night, Dr. There will be a man controlling the ground on our personal level.

And nobody inside it. Why should they be? Well, how do you know about what the bat is hiding somewhere in the house?

I'm quite sure he isn't in the house, Dr.

Not now.

Good night.

I'm going to the bathroom.

Hi, Andy. Hello, Mark.

Congratulations.

We're going to take this much bit bigger now.

You're welcome.

For a child. New deal. How do you like it?

It's expensive.

Are you swanoring your inheritance?

I've got it, yet.

The paper says John Fleming left his own talk for Chintuya.

Funny thing about that entire force.

And this is if we can't find it.

It's a little kid.

A little uncle John had this bank account.

It was a couple hundred dollars.

And his safety positive box was that.

If we don't find that mission million mile be empty too.

Our cop.

Well, all my savings were invested in seeing his bank stock.

Thanks, Amazon certified the bank is solvent,

although most stolen securities are found.

So the stock holders have voted an assessment for why some of this out.

It just isn't still secured.

It has been converted into cash.

If I can't find that cash, I'm sunk.

Where you go, look for it, Andy.

Here in Cremus.

You're uncle wouldn't take a million on a hundred, would he?

You suspect Uncle John?

Why, Andy?

He found a casino bank.

That'll be like robbing the family too.

You're pretty wooden?

Well, besides, the big Bailey's fingerprints are all over the vault.

They didn't find any of Uncle John's fingerprints.

Because he wiped him off.

Can the defense prove that?

They're trying to shoot him out of the Bailey's secretaries of the French witness.

They believe he'd test him on you to have a powerful effect on majority.

Well, she has a powerful effect on me.

Judy's a doll.

Here's the book you've mentioned today.

It's your newest one.

Yeah, the assessment published.

You can have that copy, if you want.

Oh, it's the first edition and you signed it.

Yes, of course.

Thank you so much.

I served Tina.

Yes, they do want us.

And I see you've engaged new servants.

Yeah, because we're having to persuade them to live in this house.

Jane Paterson, my new house.

Keep windows as house better than you do, doctor.

She works for John's lemon.

And Warner was my chauffeur.

chauffeur turned butt learned.

They had incredible things I hadn't thought at a moment.

Did you get a plumber, Warner?

No, we can't get a plumber for three days, madam.

What about that sneaking pipe for the basement?

We've flattened it in three days.

The pipe is no longer leaking.

You mean it's dried up if it's on a core?

No, not quite.

I've packed the elbow where the water was coming up.

Pack the elbow.

Oh, we ended your turn. How to do that?

Well, into each life a little rain must fall,

and the careful man learns to keep himself dry.

Now, is there anything else that you require, Mr. Endora?

No, I'm not a sewer, Warner.

Thank you, madam.

Now, there's a character.

How long did you say that he worked for you as chauffeur?

About three months.

Well, I hope he doesn't have a police record.

By the way, dear Dale,

it may interest you to know that the last night of his life,

John Fleming told me that he loved your husband like a son.

If Fleming were alive today, he would be fighting to prove his innocence.

But Mr. Fleming proved his own innocence?

He's been good, or can there be any doubt about it?

There will be when his heart and the test of ours are big strife.

Oh, you know something that we haven't heard yet, Judy?

Something I saw with my own eyes.

She's not permitted to say what it was.

I didn't think of asking you.

But let's assume for a moment that Fleming did steal the million.

What would he do about it? Where is it?

It didn't someplace where he could lay his hands on it without getting caught in the air.

Now, if I was riding this instead of living in the middle of an eye-hide,

right here in this book, the old her.

Under this floorboard of a chimney?

If Mr. Fleming had the nerve to steal a million,

he'd make his plans well at advance.

I'd say he'd prepare to hide it.

Possibly when this house was being built,

I read it this place for Mark Fleming his nephew.

I wonder, I want to see him have a floor plan.

I'll ask you.

Yes, Judy, when you bring Mrs. Bailey the phone, you'll ask him now.

You've number is summer chair.

Is there so much seven five three seven?

Thank you, Lizzy.

Summer seven five three seven.

That bad, Andy. That means new business.

Are you seeing somebody whilst the firehouse?

Mark Fleming's speaking. Oh hello, Dale.

Well hang on in the honeymills, I see if I have a steel belly.

I'm all excited. Miss Van Gorder wants to know if I have the floor plans of the oaks.

I would wish he were with a floor plan.

Oh, she's suggested to me that your uncle might have hit him a bank loop there.

Or the plans here?

Somewhere in the house itself.

Wait a minute, there is a place where I could join him out of kept those blue prints.

What place? Why hadn't I talk about it a good many years ago?

I can't be sure of the exact location.

Anyway, I don't think your boy has the guts to stew a minute.

But if I find those plans, I'll let you know, Andy.

Hello, Dale. Look, I haven't seen those plans since I was a kid,

but I'll come over tonight maybe we can find them.

Thank you, Mark. We'll expect you.

It seems to think they're here in the house of the scouting over tonight.

Well, that's good.

Dale and Judy are my house guests, but we can.

Would you like to have dinner with us tonight?

Oh, thank you. I couldn't. I still have a few calls to make.

You know, if Judy's testimony is going to clear Vic Bailey and implicate John Fleming,

others may get the idea that there's very treasure in this house.

They'll even mention your testimony until you're actually understand.

Oh, I won't.

That's a smart girl, Judy. And a very lovely girl.

Good afternoon, ladies. Good bye, David.

Come on, yeah. Let's get in.

Oh, dit babbling...

When does these young people take to have their menu?

But, to him though.

Why are we allies? I should be putting them down on paper.

Why do you owe your husband's secretary there?

Yes, I want. Can you take sure of that?

Oh, my dear, if you'd like to have your mind, I'll give that.

I want you to work with me while I write the story of this fantastic criminal.

The bath.

Oh, my dear.

What a wonderful day, sir. Thank you.

It's really great.

Good day, Nanny.

That's you.

Oh, what a lovely piece of silver.

It's an original isn't it?

Yes, it's the studio.

It's a good day, friend.

What a wonderful day.

She'll keep this hand for such a beautiful, scrambled eggs.

And then she'll be very useful, really.

I don't believe it.

Clock has struck the hour and a half, ten years.

If I believe what Mark's learning to do,

why is it angled away from the wall like that?

I don't know. Somebody must have moved it.

This is very late. I want you to be thirsty.

Wait a minute.

Could you know who's the door in this alone?

Oh, my gracious, so there he is.

Maybe it opens to a secret party.

Certainly to a secret.

Who knows, girl?

The amount of stuff on that missing menu.

Oh, that's the power.

There must be some gimmick to it.

So, who is it?

It is the worst.

I don't know how to do it.

All in power, 11.

All in power, 11.

From Saint to the Oaks and Saint of town,

Chip immediately.

Muhammad's side has been reported.

OK.

Receiving Deliops.

Notice how the County Carnot after Wales

can come to the Oaks at once.

Oh, God.

Oh, God.

It's not even turned by some creature with his face or claws.

That's his sign.

We found it on the Oaks he killed.

I had hoped those reports that he was up to his oaks again

or pure imagination, but apparently they're based on fact.

He's come back back to the scene of his kills.

Yes, that's what I mean.

That's who did this.

The band.

Who found Mark?

We all did.

And his Dale and Judy and I.

This he was in the dining room.

This is my new housekeeper.

Jane Patterson, you know she worked for John Fleming.

I know.

Where were you, Mrs Patterson?

In the kitchen.

Cleaning up.

I got the dinner tonight.

Did you know that the secret closet was here?

It was behind the grandfather's clock.

Well, was I who found it really?

Notice the clock had been moved and the door wasn't quite closed.

Okay.

What is it?

Mark Fleming.

Hmm.

This car owner, you saw the same moons on the others.

How long has it been?

I'd say about a half an hour.

You believe it was the back?

It's a bad straight month.

Perhaps he's still in the house.

That's possible.

Why should he be?

Because he's looking for something and like you, he believes it's here.

These are persistent killer.

I would advise you to get out of this house as quickly as possible.

Notwithstanding our expert police protection.

Have you called the hog?

I know what you're good.

I want to examine the body before they get here.

Maybe take it into another room.

Yes, to the sun, woman.

Thank you.

You may have.

Excuse me.

Oh, no.

Where have you seen?

Well, madam, it was.

Has been an accident.

It's been a murder.

Mark Fleming, the young man, from my list, this place was killed here tonight.

They know who did it.

Well, they believe it was the bad.

I'm sorry I had to use the front door on this handg order.

I forgot my keys.

I'm not wearing the belt at the kitchen door.

There was no sign of the door.

I forgot my keys.

I rang the belt at the kitchen door.

There was no response.

Oh, this is war.

I don't know where he is.

He's my butter.

He was my chauffeur.

Why did you promote him?

It's very difficult to find a butter.

They don't like service in the country.

If you've been about the before.

I've served him in a contest this year.

But this was my night off.

And I forgot my keys.

I heard that part.

Well, time's really vast, Mark.

Oh, that's 60.

I had dinner with Wally's Rot house.

Can you prove where you spent the rest of the evening?

I can fly.

Try hard.

I don't believe the house will get you later.

Very good, sir.

I shall be in my room and send God or if you need me.

Yes, Father.

Should I don't think he?

Why am I meant before?

I can't recall where I went.

But I will.

I'll be a crew here shortly from headquarters.

Justing for fingerprints, taking photographs.

But in the meantime, this is better soon.

You aren't leaving the house tomorrow, are you?

No, Lieutenant.

Don't I. I'll talk to you in the morning. Good night.

Good night, sir. Good night. This is the best.

Dale.

I was with Mark Fleming this afternoon.

When you talked to him about the floor plans of his house.

I heard him tell you he was coming here tonight.

Dale called him at my request.

She told me he was coming.

We'll sort of tell you that.

Judy, Lizzy, and that nice doctor, Wells.

Dr. Wells.

There are a few killers who kill for the fun of him.

The bad very likely is a mental case.

And I'm convinced that his crimes are motivated by his main new for personal game.

There's a major problem.

And he's going to keep on hunting for it and Lily lays his hands on it.

These young ladies are staying here tonight.

Yes, they're my house guests.

Well, when my crew arrives, we'll be busy for a while.

So I'd suggest we go to our room.

That's where you go now, I dear.

What about the police guard for this house tonight?

Good afternoon.

You've got more.

I'm going to cover this room.

I'll take you to the room.

I'll take you to the room.

I'll take you to the room.

What about the police guard for this house tonight?

Lieutenant.

You've got more.

I'm going to cover this place tonight from the attic to the basement.

If the bad makes another goal, I'll have a way for surprise for him.

Who?

Who is he?

Have you went there, idea?

He could be anybody.

So far, they're up to his desired identity,

but nothing we could take before a jury.

I am afraid we must look higher than the criminal world.

He may be a merchant.

More you, doctor, scientists.

One of the police is a busy community.

Ladies, locked your door, smacks.

Stay behind me.

I promise you, you'll be sick.

Good night.

Good night, again tonight.

Good night.

Come on.

Yeah, it's a pity.

So young.

Well, doctor, do you agree it was the bad?

My report, I should say the death was caused by the same technique used in the other killings.

The paralyzing blow to the throat followed by severe last evasion of the jugular,

resulting in excessive hemorrhage.

And the layman's language, you didn't know what hit him.

Oh, he knew.

But he didn't have time to think about it.

Staying here tonight, Andy?

We're too late.

Check the door.

We're not going to be back.

I'll be back right now.

In the morning.

Neither snow nor rain or heat nor gloom of night stays.

These couriers from the swift completion of their appointed grounds.

A lot of people are going to do for a shot.

Conactors or skids.

Yes, I'm sure they are.

Good night, Andy. Don't get hurt.

Good night, up in.

You know, I think we better let you get some sleep.

Oh, Lizzie and I share this room for mutual protection.

In our one night, a storm to the wires down for the lights out.

And I went out the next day and bought a half a dozen of these things.

You've been to take one with you, day or two.

Thank you.

Thank you.

I'm sure there's nothing else you need.

You know, I'd sure.

We'll be all right.

Well, anything bothers you.

You'll just sing out and two strong women will come to you.

That's probably something more bothers us.

Not with Andy on the job.

Good night.

Even don't worry.

Everything will be a little bit long.

Good night.

Oh, I don't think I'll sleep tonight.

Maybe the...

Oh, I can see his poor mark Fleming staring at us.

I thought that when people died, their eyes closed is in sleep.

Don't think about it.

I'm bit sure thinking about it.

No, I was thinking about my poor husband sleeping in jail tonight.

Oh, too, Leo, I didn't seem much.

Oh, I don't think I'll be there.

Oh, I don't think I'll be there.

What's the noise?

Oh, I don't know.

I kind of feel half asleep.

From what I thought it was something for a dream.

It's somewhere in the house.

Yes, I'm the flower above.

Not directly over us.

Probably a room overlooking the driveway.

She should be calm this down, Gordon.

She'll hear it.

How can she help it here?

Besides, we don't want to think we're a couple of us.

We're a couple of us.

A woman.

Why am I about to become a woman?

She had a four night day or you're not going out in that hole.

I want to know what's happening up there.

But Lieutenant Anderson said if we stayed behind our locked doors would be safe.

Big kids and safe locked up in that jail.

But suppose that stolen money is in this house.

Mark Fleming seems to think it was.

Maybe that's what somebody's looking for.

Don't we have a mistake?

Don't you hear that awful noise up there?

That lit a day you just got to stay awake at the house phone.

And the outside phone wires have been cut and we can't get help.

Where's that policeman?

Oh, I don't know something must have happened to him.

I'm going down your road.

Oh, Dale, please don't go up there.

I've got to think what it could mean to fact on you stay here.

Oh, no.

If you go I go.

Oh, no, no, I thought we took a one through a long way.

You're not going to see what it is.

Please let me go with you.

Are you worried if anyone comes and help me be a one?

No way.

Come on, come on.

Go to the hospital.

I don't think that's that.

You're going to see me.

I don't know what to say.

I don't look at it.

I don't think that's that.

Oh, what?

What?

What?

What?

What?

What?

What?

What?

What?

What?

She's a bit too much.

She's a bit too much.

The bird.

Yes, the bet.

The cutter at the head of the stairs.

We saw him rushing down the stairs as we came out of the room.

I heard that after him.

I hit him, my believe.

I'm going to cover this place from Edmund to Baseman to you, said,

Well, what were you covering when that poor child was murdered?

Where were you?

I saw men outside my ground.

I would out there and hunted him.

I heard him in among the trees and so I followed the sound of him as far as the brook down the other back road.

And then I lost her.

I had to rather give my own life from him for a separate duty.

But I told you to stay in your rooms and lock your doors and stay there.

What were we doing at the head of those stairs?

That was my fault.

They had a strange noise.

You had any pounding and one of the rooms on the third floor.

We all heard it.

I wanted to see what it was.

Do you wish you would let me go off on myself?

I mean, they're staying on the balcony.

What about you, butler?

Well, it's in his room, my suppose.

Oh, Mr. Spatterson.

Who yes?

Did you know what happened here?

No sir, but I heard the screams.

I went to call Warner.

We have rooms on the same floor.

He wasn't in his room.

His bed hasn't been slept in.

If Mr. Spatterson heard the screams,

Warner could shut me in the bathroom.

So, why do I say, I heard them?

No, you did.

And where were you?

Outside in the grounds?

Mr. Hullup has been murdered.

No.

So, you're surprised.

Shock.

Where are I? I've seen better performances.

I remember you now.

Your name's not Warner.

I've got a circuit on my office with your picture on it.

This should probably be not so long ago.

We're hunting for you and connection with all of our brain.

You're right again, sir. They found me and they tried me.

And I proved my innocence and I was acquitted.

That could have been a lucky break.

Where were you when the child was killed?

I told you before, sir, outside?

Are you doing that?

I was following you.

I saw you leaving the house and seeing that you were hunting someone.

I thought you might need some help.

Oh, yes, sir. I followed your flashlight down through the trees.

Then it disappeared.

And suddenly, as I was staring out into the darkness,

I was struck by something on the back of the head.

Next thing I knew, I was lying on the ground.

I realized, I'd been knocked out.

I wish you had been knocked out.

But then we'd have found you with your masks.

Still on your face.

You would hit here in this house.

With this book, you were rushing down those stairs after that child.

No, sir, you can't find this on me. I'm not a bat.

I've never killed. I couldn't kill.

I won't take the rat for this.

We have another case for the countercarner.

You see, the bat came back.

Why did you come back, doctor?

Well, I had an accident about a mile down the road.

The right rear wheel of my car came off and I plunged into the ditch.

I thought it would be a good accident.

I thought it would be a good accident.

But I didn't know anything about the road.

The right rear wheel of my car came off and I plunged into the ditch.

This was the nearest house. So I came here to call for help.

I thought I'd find you around, Andy.

Physician, heal yourself.

You must have been hit by something on the back of your head.

I told you I had an accident.

So you did, doctor.

So you did.

I couldn't find the right rear wheel of my car.

I came here to call for help.

I thought I'd find you around, Andy.

I could be wrong.

Maybe I'm not.

We should see.

My dear, let's start a new chapter.

For days, the murders held their headlines.

You've tended to understand the grievous.

So men, sack the house from top to bottom.

Warner was not placed under arrest, but his every move was watched.

At night, except for a detective on guard in the house,

the police and the reporters left us alone.

And on one of those nights, without telling Lizzie or anyone else,

I pursued a secret investigation of my own.

It was an ineptive room of the third floor

where we kept our chunks and other things.

But I'm not mad.

I'm not mad.

I'm not mad.

I've got my own lab and the fact that I'm the bat,

that I had to kill me first.

What would it be, ambush?

The clever as you are, you're not smart enough to do that.

No, you're smart enough to find the money that you came quite close to it.

But I know what it is.

And when you are dead with that sign, then down your chest,

I'm going to collect it and live happily ever after.

He destroyed himself.

I've true that will be.

Goodbye, Bat.

Is this theorem that will heal you whether you're a rabbit or not?

I'm not mad.

I'm not mad.

It's a wrong.

It's a wrong.

It's a wrong.

This car, didn't you, yet?

This car isn't yet?

No, we don't want to see the go on at this time, on night.

Mix out scenes.

Good.

Oh.

Mr. Gavinport, Mr. Gavinport.

A fine thing. The door and bolted the chain off and you were asleep on the job.

Wait till Lieutenant Anderson hears about this.

Come on, wake up. What's the matter with you?

No, no, I don't know. My head hurts. Well, hold bodies now.

Here. You take a sip of this. Try to snap out of it. I'll be back in a minute.

Here.

Harry, when you're it's lazy.

I'm terribly worried. I can't find this canyere anywhere.

And something's happened to the police and I don't know what.

Get water. Bring into the drawing room. Tell them we need them.

Are you all right now? I'll be all right, a minute.

I remember now. I took a drink of wine from that to care there.

The spangord told me to help myself. She wasn't putting us in a minute.

Well, somebody did. Somebody who knew I was on duty here.

And it was somebody that got Mr. Angotor.

I can't find you anywhere upstairs downstairs.

The downstairs room, the basement. I told the housekeeper to get home.

Lieutenant Anderson, what I know about this.

Hello. This is Davenport at the Yos. We've got trouble here.

Well, for one thing I was drugged. Yeah.

But I must have been knocked out because I made tells me this van Gorders missing.

But you better call Anderson letting know.

He's not at home. We're worried.

I don't know. What case?

Dr. Wells. What else did they tell you about it?

Oh, hurry. We got to find Mr. Nia.

Okay. Lieutenant Anderson is out on a case.

Dr. Wells was found dead and a room next to his garage murdered.

Dr. Wells.

There's something queer about the killing of Wells.

But headquarters won't talk about it.

This is one isn't in his room.

This is kind of in anywhere.

And I was supposed to keep an eye on that guy.

Where's Mr. Nia? That's what I want to know.

Wait, didn't you say that the chain and the bolt were off of the front door?

I certainly did.

Well, maybe Ms. Van Gorder went outside.

Oh, she never would. We better look.

Oh, my God.

Hi, Emily.

It's all out.

Ms. Van Gorder.

Ms. Van Gorder.

Ms. Van Gorder.

Ms. Van Gorder.

Fuck.

There's a light in that room and the third floor.

Well, you want to search a night?

For a course I want.

But I turned the lights up before I came downstairs.

Ms. Van Gorder.

That's why we're going to look first. Come on.

Come on.

Come on.

Come on.

Ms. Van Gorder.

Yes, I'll be right here.

Here we are, Ms. Van Gorder.

What do we do now?

Over the map of the five-pound.

Try to put your hand.

What panel did you say, Ms. Van Gorder?

Oh, I just hope.

How was this thing?

This van Gorder. What cell we could hear you?

She's in strike it. What difference does it make quick panels strike them all?

Oh, it's all right now.

It's all right here.

I'm listening to you, hear it.

Feeling better?

Yes, much better.

We'll take it here.

I know you want. I'm going to stay right here. I'm going to arrive.

Oh, I'll bless it. It is debris that I'm never to get off.

No one knows how sweet the air can taste until someone checks it off for a moment.

That room is just like a box.

When the man who he's close to seemed like,

oh, yeah, it was gone out of it.

Look there, go the gun!

Let us close. I can open it from in here.

There's a control panel behind this blueprint.

Like before, it's a track door here.

Once the door is open, you can keep it that way.

I believe that the fire place in this other room open to see why.

And it does.

I tried to find this back of the building.

It was back of the blueprint here.

That's quite a setup.

Too bad we can't open it safe the same way.

Take an expert to correct this box or a shot on nitro.

Maybe that's what the back had in mind.

Could be seems he's on a problem.

You said, go to one of those disappear.

Conductor Wells has been murdered.

Doctor, where?

Well, we'll turn that Anderson down that case right now.

Oh, does he know what happened to you?

They got the word to him. He'll be here anyway.

What's that noise?

This egg water.

It's a lot, you got five.

We've shot it, look at it.

They leave with them at all the other room.

Where you go?

To report the fire, you just dig right here.

Let me send go to the garage.

We already burned it.

We watched the stairs.

Didn't you see that fire was set to get us out of the house?

Are we talking about the dance?

Yes, I'm talking about the bath.

Not with the lights are out.

You'll think his trick is worked.

And we've gone.

You'll be here in a minute.

We're so warm to enter the Anderson.

I hope so.

With the battle to hear first.

And he'll chill again if we're in his way.

We've got the as trevres here.

We've got the as trevres.

We've got the as trevres.

But you'll be safe for downstairs.

I'll take care of you.

But the others can go, but I'm going to stay right here.

All right, but get out of sight.

Let's face it ladies and get it over with.

Others have seen my face before they died, but I'll have to deny you that pleasure.

This would make a good scene for your purpose, for Dora.

What I'm afraid you'll never write it.

I'm afraid you'll never write it.

I'm afraid you'll never write it.

I'm afraid you'll never write it.

I'm afraid you'll never write it.

It was just me, Miss Ellen.

What?

I don't like being a murder suspect.

It's my daughter.

I was headed for a plane.

The top with the airport I changed my mind and came back.

I'm glad that I did.

I'm glad that I did.

I'm glad that I did.

I'm glad that I did.

I'm glad that I did.

I'm glad that I did.

Why do you pretend to be dead?

Yes, it is.

He discovered the secret of the hidden room and was waiting to get into it.

Open up the safe.

We found the money in it.

The little Romanian in 10s and 20s and 100.

Good old Andy.

With all his ill gotten games invested in bank stock.

Try that kind of way to hide still in money.

In the open as it were, and so respectable.

But don't try it.

No matter how clever you are, you can't hide murder.

That's it, dear.

That's it.
