Did you know?

Flowers and trees grow back faster if you cut them.

Hey, wait!

Klen said that if I run out of dark ichor, I'll die.

If he chops off my head, I'll definitely lose enough blood to die.

Oh no. I can't die here.

No...

I'm going to die!

Who's there? Someone tall?

They're coming straight this way.

What are they after? Me?

Or this rat?

Who's there?

Oh, if it isn't Professor Matthew Barnes...

Excuse me, Andrew Hwyp.

May I ask you some questions?

CLEVATESS

Episode 6: Whispering Voice

Dark beasts!

Take this seriously, brats.

If I can't crush you when you're serious,

I won't be able to draw him out.

It's started, huh, Zavthier?

Yes.

Sarasa.

You must get somewhere safe to rest, so that you can maintain the fog.

As you wish, Zavthier.

I hope it's someplace with good food.

By your will.

Is that a rat?

Yes, it is.

What's it doing in a tree?

You didn't come to talk about that, did you?

Right now, the headmaster's put a powerful spell over all of Solsein.

A normal human without a crest or crystal shouldn't even be able to stand.

So the headmaster's voice I heard was magic?

You're stepping on one, sir.

A flower.

A flower?

There's a flower?

You just can't see it.

Moss flowers.

My crest enables me to talk to plants.

The moss told me your weight and how you walk.

You take powerful steps, without hesitation.

You're likely a soldier.

And an exceptionally tough one.

Amazing.

So this is the power of a student with a Crest?

Sorry to interrupt you.

I'm just looking for a student that disappeared.

As you say, I'm a former soldier.

But I don't have a sword, and I'm not here to fight.

If you don't know anything about the missing student,

then I'll just turn around and go.

Hey, did he just say he was leaving?

That's Rhode Royes, right?

Somebody's finally come who could save me!

Notice me! I'm right here!

The student you're looking for is right here!

I don't know anything about them.

I see.

I'll ask someone else.

Oh no!

If I miss this chance, I'll definitely be killed!

No! Don't go!

I have to tell him somehow!

Wait, Professor.

I felt this presence earlier...

What is it?

I guess I can't just let you go after all.

You can't?

Who said so?

Sometimes I hear it...

The voice of the Crest...

And the Crest says...

I'm to kill the two

who got in the way at Hiden.

Is this Vordin's avatar? The one Klen was talking about?

The times I hear the voice,

I usually get incredibly strong.

Zeross Repeiro.

Great Shears:

Pruning!

Rhode!

I'm surprised you dodged that, Professor.

But pruning is a skill that helps trees grow up to become beautiful.

It uses the trees it cuts as fuel to enhance growth.

Stump Growth: Great Tree Cultivation!

Buelo Zekis!

You can become food for my trees, Professor.

It will make the flowers bloom.

Rhode Royes was defeated?

No way! He was a Regalia-wielder!

Is he helpless without his weapon?

In the end, he's just a fake.

Drel spoke of it too...

The whispering voice...

You don't know what the real things are.

You didn't live through their era.

Clevatess is the same.

The era I ended.

When dark beasts and humans were much closer... and fought.

The age of the real hero.

This era must be ended.

The legend must be restored.

Stopped time must be forced to move once more.

For the true hero to awaken,

the scattered memories of Toah must be brought together.

The true hero?

I've said too much.

Kill him.

And her next.

Understood.

I'm glad you're in dark beast form.

I don't have to worry about disposing of the corpse.

Thanks to the headmaster, I was able to meet the whispering voice.

If I obey the voice, I can become stronger.

It's just the voice?

He can't see it?

I want to get stronger,

and fill the world with flowers.

What's he talking about?

Oh, my skull shattered.

I guess I don't need to do another attack.

Isn't that power ready yet?

I haven't taken enough damage?

Not yet?

It's over, huh?

I'll head over to the Dark Tower...

It's not over!

What's that? A Crest?

She's bathed in it.

So she has a fragment as well?

My broken left arm shattered even more.

But...

That means I've still got power left in my right arm!

This punch is for you! Vordin!

He disappeared?

What are you aiming at?

Damn it! I shattered my own body for that attack!

If I miss this...

Zeros Re Peiro, Giant Scissors.

I'm barely still alive.

Any more damage and I'm dead.

Pruning.

What is this?

A Regalia.

A fragment of General Drel's Dark Dragon.

The one I broke?

I couldn't bring my Frost Flower.

But I'm not stupid enough to come to enemy territory empty-handed.

Even a fragment of a Regalia is strong, huh?

How's the evacuation going?

Nobody on the second floor either.

An evacuation order was issued.

And the headmaster's voice cannot be disobeyed.

Do we really have to check every individual house?

We have to check so we can be certain.

That's our job as Group A.

I think we're wasting our time.

Shut up!

I don't want to go any further!

Damn it all!

That's not a student up there waiting for us!

It's not even human!

It's a Lord of Dark Beasts! A Lord of Dark Beasts!

If I go up there, he'll kill me!

And even if he doesn't, he'll mess up my brain!

I've got a feeling he will!

I need to make it look natural,

but go as slow as possible.

This is for everybody in Group A's sake, too!

Let's go to the next house.

So that you can all survive...

Ma'am?

Yes? What is it, Miss Merryweather?

The battle's started.

Group C beyond the woods.

And Group B beyond the forest.

Each of them is fighting something strange.

Something strange?

And now it's here too.

What do we do, Professor?

Do we fight that thing?

Berzast mede!

Feld!

What are these dark beasts?

That wasn't enough to kill it?

Behind you!

Fire Crest! Brazier!

Zefeld!

You scared me for a moment...

The fire works on them!

Fire works better than physical attacks!

So they realized that fire's effective?

Or did he tell him?

He's giving them help beyond just the dark ichor.

I can tell by the stench, Vordin.

The Book of Toah...

Even closed, its power is overflowing.

It's the same as my domain.

The source of every Lord of Dark Beasts' power lies within their domain.

A domain is the land in which one is born.

An unbreakable law binds us to them.

That's why it's difficult for a Lord of Dark Beasts

to use their power outside their domain.

The further away they are, the weaker they become.

However...

if I turn this leaking power into my own color...

I can use it.

The power of a domain is absolute.

What is that?

A wall, Sword Saint.

You were the only survivor?

Yes.

The legend says that the Four Lords of Dark Beasts must be defeated

for the outer gate of the world to open.

That must be referring to this wall.

But that's fine.

The order we were given was to recover the 13 Regalia.

We're heading into the valley.

Okay.

I can tell, Vordin.

You're using this power to manipulate the brats.

And I can also feel another power that covers this whole area.

Which means at least two things that are the same

as the Hiden Book of Toah are here in this land.

Please run, everyone!

It's okay, Professor.

We all hear the whispering voice.

Loth, Balfloor.

Shackle!

These shackles force the target to become calm.

Peaceful, as if sleeping...

Impressive.

There's another back there.

Can you handle it?

Yeah.

Leave that one to us.

We can't let Merry-Merry have all the glory!

Wind Crest! Windy!

Earth Crest! Shovel!

Bayes Satra!

Masil Lesothe!

Bottomless Swamp!

Wind Slash!

These guys are amazing.

So this is the level of a wizard with a Crest...

Can we actually win this?

Against a guy who's actually a Lord of Dark Beasts?

Get the book. Get the book.

Get the book.

That was pretty tough.

You're all amazing.

Defeating a dark beast of that size...

Did you hurt your arm?

And that nosebleed...

I'm fine.

Just lost a little flesh.

Lost...?

More importantly...

I need to get the book.

Yes. We need to get the book.

We need to get the book.

We need to get the book.

What's gotten into you all?

You're kind of scaring me.

You can't hear the voice?

The voice?

The whispering voice.

Professor Chiffonlits.

If you can't hear it, you might be better off. It would be peaceful.

So something not peaceful is happening?

Show me your arm.

I'll calm the bleeding.

Thank you.

For some reason,

I feel in them the same sensation of a terrible beast that I do from him...

Yeah, this isn't peaceful at all.

W-Wait, everyone!

I lost ten of them?

You're treating them roughly, Vordin.

Humans are no different than insects.

That I can agree with.

But then, why go through the trouble of using these children?

What do you want to accomplish, giving them enough power to break them?

Well, whatever.

All who can't make it through this second wave will be culled here.

The sudden appearance of a great tree...

Is this magic too?

Huh? Is that...?

Why don't you give up already, Professor?

The forest is my territory.

That Regalia fragment caught me a little off guard,

but that won't work anymore.

Balealis Gothla!

Come forth! Root Giant!

There's more where that came from!

Crush him!

That's...

Gart!

Who's that?

He came from the sky?

You're bleeding from your nose, you know.

And your eye, too.

You're using power greater than your vessel can hold.

Their will is that I not kill you.

But if you continue to use your power, you'll die.

Die? I'll die?

The fact that you have some talent is what's brought you to your doom.

Shut up! My true power is far greater—

I just wanted to...

...fill the world with flowers...

You saved me, Gart.

You went too easy on him just because he was a kid, Rhode Royes.

No. Well, that was part of it.

But it wasn't the Regalia I'm used to using.

Huh? Do they know each other?

That aside, I see you've found the missing student.

Huh?

What, you hadn't noticed?

That dark beast may not look it, but it's the hero Alicia.

Though it seems she calls herself Alyssa Sleihunt here.

The hero Alicia?

He realized who I was?

In this world, he looks like his true dark beast self, but...

If only I could talk to him...

I could crush you easily right now.

I can understand you.

Tell me everything.

About the mysteries of this land and what Vordin's planning.

Tell me everything you know.
