You can recognise an icon by their look.
An icon to me is a legend in their chosen craft.
We've admired them and now we get to become them.
She has the prerogative to have a little fun.
Becoming this icon for a night feels incredible.
My icon is the Queen of Christmas and I cannot wait to play her.
You can recognise an icon by their voice.
And you can recognise an icon by the classic style.
To me, these icons represent childhood memories and just great fun.
Your nan loves them, your parents love them, and you love them.
You get to just pretend to be someone else for a night, and that's kind of
fun.

Right,
let's get icons week underway opening the show with a Paso Doble to John Bon
Jovi. It's John and Katya
Okay, guys, Monday morning, and we're here to do some Paso Doble.
Finally. Let's go.
We're not bouncing in.
Everyone is aware of the shapes that need to be created in the Paso Doble, so
all the eyes are on that shape. This is down.
I honestly love this dance.
It's fun, it's big, it's dramatic.
I'm actually learning to paint with my hands.
My big paintbrushes. And just when you get to the limit of what you think you
can do, you need to like go a bit more.
It's almost like you're constantly contracting different parts of your
body. Oh my goodness.
I'm realizing I have muscles that I never knew I had.
If my back wasn't in pain, I wouldn't be working hard enough.
Training's done for the day, and I'm off to my friend, Mr. Who's the Boss's
House, who is another content creator, and he's a bit of a gadget man, so I
can't wait to see what he has to help me recover.
So you're an athlete now?
I'm an athlete. You must be treated as such.
This goes over your head. One.
It's just sort of vibrating on my bum. My feet are getting some.
Let's go back into the training room.
Another day in paradise.
Four and five. Can you see the sweat? I'm going to channel Jon Bon Jovi in
this dance by being big, dramatic.
Powerful. Give them rock and roll, baby.
I feel like John was made for it.
Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa. Who taught you that?
I am beyond excited for this dance.
I'm going to be a rock star on Saturday night.
Dancing the Pesadilla.
John Mellis and Katya Jones.
Listen to the song for the brokenhearted.
No silent prayer for faith departed.
I ain't gonna be just a face in the crowd.
You're gonna hear my voice when shouting out loud.
It's my life.
Cause this is my life.
Never stand tall when calling you out.
was with you. I mean... Yeah!
Thank you.
Thank you. I love as well that you're speaking Katya's language.
Yeah, yeah, yeah. I liked it. A lot of speaking. Very good. That's a bit much,
aye? Moxie, he rocked it, right? Ah, he rocked it. What a way to open the desk.
you were like, this is my dance floor, and you brought it to life. I love the
shaping that you had, especially in the chasse cape at the end.
I love your spine.
Do you know that? Your spine is in continuous movement the whole dance.
You never become like a little raisin. You're like a big grape the whole dance,
and you're puffed up. I love that, because this is the essence of the
dance. We get to see that Paso Doble throughout the dance. I would have loved
a little bit more flow.
But next time, next week, because if you dance like this, we're going to see you
again. Thank you. Thank you.
Thank you. Ladies, hold up.
Katia, it doesn't take a lot to please me and you had, I thought, beautiful
tricks and things that were going on, but you also had some great Paso Doble.
I loved your flow. I loved your continuous movement. We're still only on
week four. And I loved, and we've never had this on the show before, the
bandarilla stand-up. So, you had in your twist turn the bandarilla shape and your
left arm was so sharp, I could have cut it with a knife. It was amazing. Your
footwork...
Everything I loved about that. You are back on form. Well done. Thank you,
Shirley. Thank you.
Sit him down, sit him down.
Anton, was he a grape for you? Oh, I love a grape.
And a banderilla. And a banderilla.
Yes. I think we've shown you what it all meant. Now, listen, welcome back from
week one. Yes, he's back. Thank you.
You're magnificent.
Hang on, I can't see what I've written. Oh, yeah. Now, you... You were
sensational.
I loved it. This is a good dance. I knew you liked this dance by the way you
danced it, the way you performed it. You said last week, I love the Paso Doble,
like he knew what it meant.
And you came out and you performed it like you loved it, and that is half the
battle. Well done. Thank you so much.
OK.
That was the easy Gallagher, brother. Let's go on to the difficult one.
Can we just leave it there? There was a small awkward moment down here that I
noticed, darling.
Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but it's true.
You need to connect each step, and I'm with Motsi on that. That's why it lacks
a little bit of flow, darling.
You need to breathe through it a little bit more and really live every single
moment of it. But you know what? You created an enormous amount of oval
shaping, which was wonderful.
Full of strength, full of power. Well done, you. Thank you.
You know what? I know you love that character.
Can we have one more Paso off the dance floor and up the stairs? Oh, look! Oh,
my word! There he goes!
Thank you.
Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.
John Nellis and Katya, first time you opening the show. How did that feel?
Extra pressure for sure.
But yeah, I don't know. I love the dance. I was just excited all week for
it. So I'm over the moon now. I can chill out and watch everyone else. You
should be.
Darling, your confidence in movement and your leading skills has grown so much.
And it was very evident on that floor tonight.
I just want to say that. Did the person demand that of you?
I feel like this came the most naturally of the dances.
I just loved it anyway.
My wife reminded me earlier in the week, that didn't mean I could dance it.
But I went in and I just, I don't know, I had confidence in it.
Yeah, can we do it every week? Now, Katia, my darling, that shaping.
Motsi saying that he loved his spine.
When he breathed like that, I was like...
John, take all my money.
It was gorgeous. When did you know that you're going to have such a fabulous
dance? Do you know when?
When for breakfast, lunch and dinner, he kept going, would you like a coffee?
Would you like to sit down? Sure, we'll take a break. Wow. It's locked in.
It comes from his nature. There you go. Your scores are on.
Ladies and gentlemen, the judges have their scores.
Craig Revel Horwood, six.
That's an upgrade! That's nice! Seven!
Yeah!
Eight!
Bye!
Then you'll be able to show your support by voting for them later on tonight Get
ready to vote by signing in and registering for your bbc account Just
scan the qr code on your screen right now or head to the website, which is bbc
.co.uk Strictly emma and josh Next tonight dancing
the rumba it's danny and nikita their chosen icon is the legendary diva Mariah
Carey. Do you know what, Emma? I've always wondered what it would be like to
work with, like, a proper diva. I mean, it must be... Whitacombe, where's my
vanilla matronon? Oh, sorry, there you go, Clare, there you go. Sorry about
that. I couldn't possibly imagine.
It's Danny and Nikita.
I asked for extra hot. Sorry, I'll go and sort it, I'll go and sort it. Don't
leave me with him.
So, we are doing the Rumba this week to Mariah Carey, Hero.
Now, rumba is a really passionate dance.
It's full of drama, darling.
What do the judges look for then in a rumba? The judges will be looking for
the following.
What is essential in rumba walks is that rawness and power through every step.
Pushing all the way up until our weight is not fully transferred.
And then we bring in the leg and settle.
It's all very slow.
which is quite nice actually because the past couple of weeks our dances have
been really fast.
We need to have elasticity and breath in every single movement and line.
Nothing ever really stops.
You can always stretch just a little bit more. But if I've done that, how much
further can I go?
I mean, I usually stretch like this.
So you're going to stretch first, over balance.
You know what? I might grow an inch from all this stretching. It might be good
for me. Keep going.
There.
Partnering stills in rumba are absolutely essential.
So that means that we constantly rely on each other.
There.
They're breathing together at the same time. And even a small weight of
transfer, we constantly work together.
I think the rumba is going to be perfect when it comes to Mariah because, you
know, she's so dramatic.
And lead you to whoosh, whoosh, whoosh.
I'm really excited to be able to have a go at it. Hopefully I've got a bit of
Mariah in me.
There's a hero if you look inside your heart
and the sorrow that you know will melt away.
Then a hero comes along with the strength to carry on.
And you cast your fears aside.
And you know you can survive.
So when you feel like hope.
Look inside you and be strong And you'll finally see the truth
That a hero lies in you
Continue saying it.
Beautiful.
Beautiful.
Beautiful.
That's for you, my girl.
That's for you.
That's for you. I love he's still coaching you all the way along the dance
floor after the dance.
I'm just so happy for her because she was so, so nervous about the rumba.
It's such an exposing dance. Yeah, I bet. And she just smashed it. It's the
best thing ever to see Dani smash it.
The dance is nerve-wracking. Doing the dance here is nerve-wracking.
But then you're also kind of coming down from the ceiling, which also must be
nerve-wracking as well. They love a prop.
They do, don't they? They love a prop. Can we just mention that move at the
end? Do you want to try it, Emma? No! No, no, no, no. No, no, no. Go on. I'm
ready for you. I dipped her last week.
She's been at the osteopath for seven days. Yes!
Lady Gaga.
You love a rumba.
Well, young lady, I could tell that you were a little bit nervous to start with,
but I thought you handled your nerves very, very well. I want you to know that
there's definitely a progression in the footwork. You did your beautiful rumba
walks coming forward with your feet at five to one. Your timing was very good.
You had quite difficult choreography.
You kept moving all the time, which was amazing. You handled that beautifully.
Moving forward, though, the reason why the body gets a little bit blocked... is
because it becomes in like this. If you put your finger on the top of your chest
and you exhale, everything needs to go in a longer line. When it goes in a
longer line, there can be flexibility in the body. So if you can start to get
that flexibility along with the progression of the timing in the feet
and the choreography, you're on a winning streak.
Thank you so so much. Thank you.
I don't know what caffeinated drink you've had, Shelley. You've been up two
for two so far.
Anton, I feel like that wig has changed your persona slightly.
Do you think?
It's moving.
Yeah, exactly.
I enjoyed that performance a lot. I enjoyed it more, I think, than you did.
You were a bit reserved. If I was going to be hypocritical, and I don't want to
be, I would say you were a bit reserved. It was like you were having an intimate
moment with Nikita, but you suddenly realised there was a room full of people
watching you.
There is her bed watching!
And your father's watching you. Not in front of me, Father!
Not in front of me, Father!
Because underneath was a lot of good stuff. Your legs are much better. Much
better. Yeah, they're much more turned out. So you're a bit more solid on your
foot. But because you've been a bit reserved, it makes you just a little bit
shaky. But all in all, because there's so much good stuff going on and I'm
really enjoying it. So try and get a grip of all that because I think...
you're on this path and i like it well thank you so much thank you so much liam
uh i thought your rumba walks at the beginning lacked hip action and a little
bit of control and that might have been down to nerves as shirley said thank you
very much uh your feet are sickling just be careful it's so much better than it
was it is better but i'm just saying when you're progressing darling you need
to sort of cheat turning them out a little bit in this dance there are no
real full stops and i felt you were just stopping ever so slightly and hesitating
before moving on there um it should just flow beautifully but you know you i
think you have a really fantastic connection with nikita and that really
shone through and you really told the story so beautiful thank you
I think you've grown. I think your relationship with Nikita has grown, so
you can see that you trust him.
I do believe that actually the issue that I have with a lot of the ladies in
the competition is that we have a little bit too less tension. And with you, it's
the exact opposite. You have a bit too much tension, and then it goes all the
way there. So I think if you would work on your breathing, allowing your body to
express everything you're feeling, then it's going to get easier on you. Because
we saw last week in the ballroom that you're really powerful.
I think in the Latin, if you work on that Cuban motion, transfer of weight
from foot to foot, you're going to get it. And I'm sure you're going to get it
because I can see really the growth in your dance. Well done. Thank you so
much. Thank you. It means a lot. Thank you.
Really great.
Your dad applauding over there.
Oh, there he goes. I wouldn't want to be Liam Gallagher at this point.
Head on up to get your score. Thank you so much. Thank you, thank you.
Well done. You smashed that. You smashed that.
The timing The emotion required to deliver
this dance.
I'm intrigued.
How was it to learn the rumba for you this week?
Yeah, it's been a bit of a difficult week. I think this has been my hardest
one. I had a little bit of a wobble on Wednesday.
Just because I just doubt myself all the time. And I was like, I can't do it. I
feel really silly.
I know, don't. But you're like my biggest cheerleader, so I'm just so
grateful.
Danny Daya Bowen, my darling.
A version of you two weeks ago couldn't have pulled that choreography off. That
is so, so true. You know what I mean.
What's changed, babe?
The tango was the warm-up. I've always said that.
It really was.
Oh, no, there you go. You did well. Your scores are in.
Will the judges please reveal their scores?
Craig Revelhorne.
Six. OK, thank you. Moxie Mabuse. Six.
Thank you. Shirley Ballas. Six.
Anton Dubek.
Seven! CHEERING AND APPLAUSE That's the total score of 25!
That was beautiful, you two.
That was beautiful.
If you want to see Danny and Hita back next Saturday, then show your support by
voting for them at the end of tonight's show.
Emma and Josh.
Up next, it's Lawrence and Evita, and they are dancing a salsa to the king of
Latin music, Mr Ricky Martin.
They just like the idea of it.
After three weeks of almost exactly the same score from the judges, Lawrence
decided it was time to get some advice from someone in the know. Last year's
high-scoring male celebrity, Lewis Cope.
Looking for something!
You all right?
Nice to see you. Good to see you too.
Here we are.
I know.
Here we go.
How's it all going?
Well, it's Icons Week. Icon. What icon are you being? Ricky Martin.
And I am doing the salsa.
Salsa for me was the week that I went out.
I spoke to Lawrence before he started the show and he was really feeling very
nervous, but I think he's doing a fantastic job and I'm loving watching
him. Do the work in the week. Like, of course, it's hard work, but then don't
forget to enjoy yourself, and especially on a Saturday night. I'm hopefully going
to enjoy it and hopefully not going to go out.
In order to become Ricky Martin, I think I need to become the polar opposite of
what I am.
He just has to have that, I don't really care.
Chica, you dance.
I'm here.
There's a lot of content.
There are a lot of steps.
And there's a lot of lifts.
Utter terrifying.
I think there's always an inherent worry that you're going to drop your dance
partner, especially Evita, because she chucks herself into any lift at any
given opportunity.
Here we go.
Are you sore? No.
No, I thought you were like...
I'm incredibly excited to take on the aura of Ricky Martin. He's dynamic, he's
free, and hopefully we will bring that to our dance.
Yeah!
is is
Are you OK?
Absolutely.
I've got your handkerchief here. There you go.
Oh, yeah, that would be great. Thanks. Oh, my word. Oh, my.
Anton. Yes.
I was watching you. That final, I'm going to call it, throw.
Throw. You had your head in your hands.
Oh, heavens.
This way, you went whoosh!
And everyone went, whoa!
And then you went crash!
And everyone went, ooh!
with that bruise in the morning i'm gonna that was spectacular i have to
tell you that was great i love that oh i i
i sense it already that one or two down this side of me are going to talk about
technique and stuff and i'm not going to worry about that because i think your
performance your performance is outstanding never drop below that your
lips
Your lifts are amazing. I don't see them coming in and going out. There's that
wonderful lift where she goes... On the floor, whoosh! Onto the shoulder, over
she goes. I did that with Shirley twice in the restroom.
Whacked her head on the chandelier three times. Amazing. Sorry.
Off she went.
I have to tell you, please don't dance underneath or less than that performance
ever again, because that was amazing.
I thought you were going to say, please don't dance underneath a chandelier.
Craig,
you were full of praise last week. I thought, actually, you were picking your
feet up way too much in this. And that didn't help you create any figure eight
hip action.
That's sort of what's missing from it. It's very, very square of hip. And every
time you're going into a lift, you are telegraphing it, which means indicating
to us, the viewer, that you're going to do one. And the beauty about lifts is
they come out of nowhere, so you have to almost fake that while you're dancing.
He had to telegraph them for health and safety reasons.
But, you know, you are strong. That is the strongest dance I think I've seen
you do, and you're extremely...
We were screaming and shouting. I said I liked it. OK, more, more. We need more.
More motivation.
Listen. This is the Lawrence we need we need this Lawrence from today until
forever You are so enthusiastic in the way you dance and approach strictly come
dancing. I love it I love it. Actually when we're here you listen to us I can
see you're taking it in and you come back stronger every week. You take it
really really seriously You are improving great leading skills Really
great with the lips, of course But I think actually if you will practice it
even a little more like if you find time more you'd be so great because the
safety was Could be a little bit more but was there and Louis I don't know
where you are dude come every week because if he's gonna pitch up like this
We like it
I love the partnering skills this week. I love the energy, the way you got in
each other's face. I didn't see you telegraphing your lifts. They were lifts
that you would do on a top-class professional that you've done in just a
few days.
You know, we're only on week four. I saw a lateral hip swing. OK, the figure
eight can be worked on, but the lateral hip swing was starting to get there. You
did some rolls with your body. You did some lovely things with your body,
actually. And your fluidity is getting...
I was very, very pleased with you this week. You did a grand job. Well done.
Lawrence, brilliant comments from the judges.
Can we just have a moment for Jovita, though? Oh, no. Please.
I mean, you are fearless.
Absolutely fearless. It was just dynamic and incredible to watch we were like
she's all over the place I couldn't done with it. I couldn't done it without
Lawrence Martin Ricky
Great feedback from the judges there. How did that make you feel?
Oh, elated.
Yeah? Yeah. Now, tell me, you said that Ricky Martin is a complete opposite to
your personality.
Explain.
Maybe I... I mean, before, I would have said that I'm the polar opposite of him,
but maybe I should need to start channelling more Ricky in my future
routines. I can say something.
I don't know what just happened. No, I don't really.
Literally, we've never had anything like that before.
We had a little chat before and I said, listen, we have nothing to lose. You're
not Lawrence tonight, you're Ricky.
Listen. And he went for it.
And you did.
In 90 seconds, Jovita's not messing around.
Your scores are in. The judges' scores are in.
Craig Revel Hall.
Seven.
Moxie LaBouche. Eight.
Shirley Vines. Seven.
Anton Dube. Eight.
has won your vote and you want to see them dance again next week make sure to
remember that you vote for them at the end of the show still to come we've got
sean and alexis bring us their couple's choice and sean is james brown sean
a little teaser for what's coming up next
Last Saturday, our next couple got their best score yet for a very sultry
Argentine tango. And it provoked quite a range of feedback from the judges. Craig
said, love, love, love, while Anton said, love, love, love.
So, tonight, they're hoping to continue to impress with a samba to the one and
only Ray. It's Tabby and Mark.
Love, love, love.
Saturday night. How did it feel? Oh, didn't it feel so good?
Love, love, love.
It was the first time in the street performance where I was just in the
moment. You've never danced before and you're going out doing stuff like that.
You should be proud of yourself.
I am.
This week, we're dancing the samba to Where Is My Husband by Ray. She's just
like a world-class performer.
And then getting to dance to Where Is My Husband.
That song gets me out of a funk.
One of my favourite memories of listening to Ray is my sister would
drive my niece to ballet and my niece will sing her little heart out.
How are you doing?
Good. Has mummy told you what I'm doing?
How am I going to be Ray? I'm just Aunty Tabby.
Just be yourself.
Be myself?
Yeah.
The samba is definitely one of the more technical dances. Forward, side,
forward. Around, side, forward. One more time. That was better.
You have lots of feet timing, but body timing is different, and that's where it
gets really confusing.
I can't remember any of it. I honestly can only think and do one thing at a
time. This action.
while you're gonna be stepping oh lordy lordy lordy and the samba is like four
things at once i'm like still mentally confused hopefully when you get it all
right it just looks so cool
dancing the samba tabby
stoker and mark carmelita
If you see, I'm telling you, you should.
Why is this beautiful man waiting for me to get over? I already told you my
impatience. I'm looking for your chicken time with other women that ain't me.
Well, I've been reviewing vacations. Wait till they get my hands on him. I'm
going to tell him I'm due. For how long are you going to be waiting? I'm just a
preacher.
Praying to the Lord to give him to my loving arms and the smile of his face.
Can you see me? Can you see me? Can you see me? Can you see me?
Can you see me?
Can you see me?
Is he far away?
Is he far away? Is he okay? Is he okay? The man is texting me. Help me, help me,
help me. I need you to tell me.
I think that's my love.
Why is it taking him so long?
Your husband is coming.
You embodied her brilliantly.
Well done.
It was fun.
It was really fun.
Craig, last week it was love, love, love. Tonight?
Not too shabby, Tabby.
I love how you played that for sass. It was terrific.
Absolutely loved that. You took control of that man and the dance, darling.
Brilliant.
Yeah, I love the attitude.
I love the opening. It was so important.
It's like, how would Ray do a samba? I think like that. Really, really nice.
You have nice feet. You have nice understanding for music. You're not too
far ahead of the music. What I do love is that much content there was. I was
stationed with some of our ,, Promenade Runs. That means you understand music
fundamentally, how to put in a dance.
What I would love for you to do is work on your upper part of the body. I think
you could have a little bit more release, have a little bit more fun in
the samba.
they say control downstairs and upstairs will come. And it's definitely coming.
That's good.
Shelley.
I think you had a good blend of samba. I mean, we always talk about eight
different timings, and you had about five of them. They had about five of
them. Not just bounce, bounce, bounce.
Slow, quick, quick, quick, quick, slow. One, two, three, one or two, you name
it, you had it. Thank you for that. Makes my heart warm. I love the
highlights at the end. Moving forward, get your nose over your toes a little
bit. It's a little tiny bit back-weighted. When it's back-weighted,
it's hard to rotate the body and get enough music in there. But some lovely
footwork, a great routine from you, Mark. Well done. All in all... A very
nice package.
Very nice package!
Anton, a very nice package.
Yeah, very good. And Shelley's right, because the weight's too far back, it
makes you a bit slow when you're moving across the floor. When you were
stationary, the stationary Samba walks were exquisite. Yeah. They were
absolutely bang on. So, if you can get the stationary bit and the movie bit
aligned, you'd be quite the package there. So, keep working in the right
direction, because it's all going nicely.
Yay!
We won so hard on that!
Do you know what?
I don't know who was more pleased by those Anton comments, you two, or
Shirley, who was absolutely loving it.
She loves it when I talk all things Samba.
You've got to be happy with that, haven't you? Oh, I'm so happy. Thank you
guys so much.
Absolutely chuffed. Oh, head on upstairs.
Oh, so British, Mark. Well done.
Thank you so much. Thank you.
Mark, you look absolutely chuffed. Yeah, really chuffed. Oh, my darling Tabby,
you said you've got the utmost respect for anybody who's done the samba so far
in the competition. What did you mean about that? Oh, absolutely. The samba,
like, your feet, your hips, your arms, everything is doing something completely
different the whole time. So anyone who's done the samba so far, anyone who
ever did it in Strictly history... Now, let's talk about Ray.
Rae is such a girl's girl. We all adore her. But what does she mean to you?
I just think the way she is so unapologetic in her music, her use of
lyrics, and the fact that she's, you know, a young mixed-race woman who is
just being completely authentic in the spotlight is so inspiring to me.
You look exactly like her tonight.
Yeah. Rae, if you're watching... Fine.
Your scores are in.
The judges have their scores.
7.
Shirley Batch. 7.
Anton Dubek. 7.
That's a total score of 29.
An 8 from Craig.
Wow. Wow.
I know.
Should we say hello to Navy at home?
I love you so much. Hi, Tatum, I love you. Thank you for your kind words.
It means everything to me. Now, there you go.
Remember, if you want to see Tevi and Mark return to the ballroom next week,
you'll be able to show your support when voting opens later.
Emma and Josh.
Time for our next couple, who are dancing a tango to Shania Twain.
That don't impress a me much.
Feels a bit harsh.
No, I just meant it, like... Sarah and Julian, you've got to be more
supportive, Emma.
Remember me on their side.
We are doing the tango and I am going to be Shania Twain.
Let's go girls.
Chest forward, sticky bum back.
That's it, like a chicken.
You should feel like a chicken.
We need a powerful kind of Shania catwalk.
Walk, walk, great.
What do I do then?
When we walk, what we don't want to do is this.
And there's also in tango, a lot of head changes. So we've got to make sure that
we really drill those in and make them clear. And drag.
Other way.
The judges were critical of the fact I was openly counting with my mouth.
Please stop counting. So I need to really work on trying to get the steps
and everything into my body without so many external cues.
But I know I've got the best teacher.
Quick, quick, quick. Very good.
Bring it on.
Let's go, girls.
I heard you need some help with tango.
Don't worry, baby.
Shania is here. I thought it was me that was supposed to be performing as Shania
this week, but I think I may have been trumped.
There we go.
And now... I've got a tango face and you're wearing that.
It's absolutely brilliant.
Eyes up here, darling.
Honestly, the heels are really good for my butt.
You know what I mean? Look at that. All right, come on, come on, come on.
One, two, three, four, pose.
Man, I feel like a woman.
And Bonnie Shania, again, again, again.
I actually can't walk in these.
I need to channel Julian Shania on Saturday
and do it even better.
You thought they were pretty smart, but you got beaten right down to a nine.
You think you're a genius, you're driving up the wall. Your wreck is
original, no at all.
Oh boy, you think you're special.
Oh boy, you think you're something else.
OK, so you're a rocket scientist.
That don't impress me much.
So yeah, yeah
We've had some transformations tonight. It was like Shania was in the room. It
was unbelievable Thank you, Shirley. You loved Sarah's dramatics Paso last week.
She'd love the dramatics of this Well, it's like a tango I've never seen before
in my entire life. I'll start there.
But I like the attitude.
I like the attitude.
That was very, very good. You embodied the character together, which was good.
And it was quite dramatic.
But unfortunately for me, it didn't have the heels in the correct place. It was
all toe-led.
And it had too much bounce in it, and it should fly a little bit flat.
The frame was breaking a little bit here and there. But like I said, attitude,
character, dramatics.
That's a very good start.
Well done.
Anton. Yeah.
Yeah, if you haven't got the downstairs quite right, if it gets a bit toe-y,
then it sort of loses a bit of the dynamic, as Shirley was talking about.
Staccato. The staccato timing, exactly.
Do you know, I think you're really good. I don't think you give yourself enough
credit, actually. I think you're better than you think you are, because you're
sort of getting to that position. I've danced with many a lady on the show...
who didn't believe in themselves quite enough that they could pull it off, as
well as they thought they might be able to.
And they sort of stopped themselves from growing a little bit. Believe in
yourself a bit more, because you're really quite good, in actual fact,
because you never go wrong, your timing's immaculate, you have an
understanding of what you're trying to do, but you're just sort of stopping
yourself, taking that next step.
I think if you keep going in this competition, the thing I want you to
work on most of all is your self-belief, because you could be rather good.
You know what?
You you know Anton means it when he takes off his sunglasses I
Thought it was a bouncy. I totally agree
with Shirley. It was too much up and down like this This dance really should
remain if possible on one level And I felt when you went into your solo bits
you lost
expression in the body itself it seemed to you drop the ball a little bit so if
you are flying solo then you need to make that more powerful than when you're
in hold but I have to say this look is fantastic that hair is great on you my
darling not see
Well, I think actually I'm not agreeing with him completely there because I
think what I see is you were playing the role between the Tango and the fun kind
of and that gave you a bounce Maybe it wasn't consistent enough or clear enough
the separate phases in your dance So moving on be clear in which part is
which so that it's really quite sure for everybody what's going on but Last week
you were here counting one, two, three, four.
You weren't doing that this week. You were dancing.
You were performing.
You looked cheeky. Attitude was there. So we have improvement. Just keep going
and be clear with the character of the dance.
You've really worked hard on that this week, haven't you? You took Anton's
advice on board.
How have you found it? Are you struggling with your self-belief?
A little bit. It's very strange to be strutting in a costume and a wig and...
Being asked to do it very feel very exposed. Yeah.
So yeah, it's not easy walking in heels. Let me tell you It's not easy walking in
this ballroom as well and doing what you've just done. So I all credit to you
like well done You're absolutely amazing and off you go
You've never had to play a character in your life, ever.
Right? That's the truth.
Definitely not another person who's living and breathing and is very
amazing. This has been incredible this week, learning to become more Shania and
trying to embrace the difference between the pop of the song and the tango. And
obviously there's feedback there to try and make that switch.
But, I mean, Julian was incredible. You saw him in the VT. Listen, I did.
You were a fantastic Shania, Julian.
But I do think there's somebody that can do it a little bit better.
Have a look.
Hello, Sarah and Julian.
I hear you're dancing the tango to that. Don't impress me much. I wanted to wish
you both all the luck in the world.
And I hope you impress those judges. I know you will. And who knows? Maybe you
can come and show me those tango moves in person at one of my UK shows very
soon. Let's go, girls.
Well done, you two.
Your scores are in.
Will the judges please reveal their scores?
Craig Revel Horwood. Five.
Motsi Mabuse. Five.
Shirley Ballas. Five.
Anton Dubek. Six.
That's one better than last week. You can say that again. God!
If you want to show your support for Sarah and Julian and see them dance
again next week, you can vote for them at the end of the show.
You can register to vote by scanning the QR code on your screen right now or by
signing up on bbc.co.uk.
And then, Josh...
Dancing next, it's Cash and Maddie. Their icon is old Blue Eyes himself,
Frank Sinatra, who very sweetly, last week, Cash called Frank Siracha.
Yes. Who else have we got?
Katie Perry Perry, are we having that? Oh, that's a good one. I've got one. How
about Celine Dijon?
Oh, I like it.
How about Kylie Mayogue?
Oh, yes, please. Excellent stuff, Antoine. Brilliant.
Adele?
Good one, Shirley.
Here's Cash and Maddie and how they got on in training.
Our icon for the week is... I don't even want to say it wrong again. Frank who?
Sinatra. Frank Sir... I just did exactly what he did. That's life!
Good. We are doing the Foxtrot. This dance has silly names. Which, in my
opinion, is the hardest ballroom dance.
Seven. That was a good one. It's the steps, the rise and the fall and the
heel and the toe.
There's no particular beat that I feel like we're following. I think that's the
problem. It slows down again.
Uh-huh.
Foxtrot, it's slow.
Cash right now is finding it difficult because he likes dancing on beats.
So it's not on no beat?
Nope. The Foxtrot is a lot slower, so we're actually going over two counts.
Does that make sense?
Yeah. It doesn't, does it?
No. I feel like I need to unlearn a lot of, like, bad habits.
habits that I've had before, dance-wise, and embrace some of these new ones.
Ah, I messed up. Bear tongue.
I think he gets frustrated with himself when he messes up the steps, which is
normal. My feet are all over the gaff. He just cares a lot about the dance, but
he's doing very well.
Pivot. Head to left.
Good. Literally, only thing.
Exactly. This dance is hard.
Frame is good. Just head up. Maddy's just telling me everything's going to be
OK. Nice.
There is definitely a boring boy in cash.
Good. head left it's just my job to make sure that he believes there is a boring
boy within him today we've made a lot of progress yeah
we did it i know i am looking forward to dancing it more and then the dance is
funner than than i thought all the way through yeah we did
dancing the fox
Cash Mercer and Maddie Inglesby.
Start spreading the news.
I'm leaving today.
I'll make a brand new start. I've been in New York.
If I can make it there, I'll make it
anywhere. It's up to you, New York,
New York.
to wake up in a city that never sleeps.
And find I'm in number one, top of the list, king
of the hill, and number one.
It's up to you, New York, New York.
Something like that Anton a foxtrot to Frank surely that's in your dreams for
you.
I Wish I didn't look so ridiculous Cash from one old ballroom boy
to a new ballroom boy. Welcome to the club You
I'm so delighted.
Do you know what thrilled me more than anything else is you invested into that.
You completely committed yourself to that. I expected any second now to you
break hold and go into something modern and your own style, and you didn't. You
went, no, no, I'm going to carry on.
And Shirley and I were both... Your footwork is immaculate.
Congratulations. Secondly, your timing.
He had these hovers in the feather finish there as you went through at the
end. Yeah, he did.
Listen, you, stick with it, because you are great.
Thank you.
I do want to thank you for committing, finally, to one
genre, because I've been banging on about that, because I knew you'd be
absolutely fantastic, and you were, my darling.
Still some complications with your frame you still have a tendency to want to
sink into yourself and get into the street groove Which you need to break
out of in these sort of dancers But and swing and sway it could have all of that
as well But my darling the amount of style you put into that was absolutely
magnificent
You know what what I love about dancing is music I absolutely
love to hear music and to see music and this is what I saw when you dance But at
the same time I saw you
And at the same time, I saw so many other people. You remind me of Sammy
Davis Jr.
I just, I got so emotional because it was, you came to the show, you do your
thing, you're still doing your thing, but you took on what we were saying.
And you are brilliant.
You are brilliant. You are a great dancer.
Improve, as Craig said, about coming out there.
But you are iconic, really, honestly. Thank you very much.
Charlotte. I have to start with Maddy first. First of all, you're a vision,
and the way you stay connected together was just absolutely fantastic, and I
know how much work that takes. I love a student who likes honest, constructive
criticism, and I feel from you, from week one, you never take anything
personally. I've got a feeling you go back, you work hard, you think, OK, I
can do this, but I think I can do this, and I can do this.
Who would have known you came out here you were cool. The whole thing was just
fantastic Bit more drive if we get another dance, let's get it moving
across the floor But other than that beautiful footwork a job well done
In week one, we wouldn't have had you as Frank Sinatra and Shirley as Lady Gaga,
would we?
You know what?
A week ago, you didn't know who Frank Sinatra was. Now you've wowed them as
him. Absolutely incredible.
Go upstairs and get your scores. Thank you.
Appreciate it.
Cash, bruv.
I see you. I see you.
Let's be honest.
Beginning of the week did not start like that. No.
Monday to Wednesday, I gave her the hardest time.
Like, I was whining. I was on the floor, like, meowing at one point.
I'm not joking.
I hear you.
But she worked hard with me. We locked in Thursday and tried to lock everything
in. And I think I'm very proud of what we did on the floor.
Yeah.
Listen,
Mehdi, my darling, your favourite dance?
Frank Sinatra, New York, New York. What a combination.
Did you love sharing that with Cash?
I really did. The first three days, I was like, oh, dear.
But on Thursday, honestly, and dancing on the floor, I'm so proud of him. He
did absolutely amazing, so... No, listen.
Your scores are in. The judges' scores are in.
Craig Revelhorn.
Eight.
Matsi Mabuse. Nine.
And you
want
to see them back next week you can show your support by voting for them at the
end of the show Josh and Emma
Next to dance in the ballroom, it's Bethany and Nancy.
They are performing a cha-cha-cha to a classic song by the Queen of Soul,
Aretha Franklin.
I mean, what an icon.
Oh, she is incredible.
And do you know what, Emma? Yeah? While we're talking about icons, I did want to
say, do you know who my icon is? Who?
You. Oh!
Oh, you are lovely, aren't you?
Oh, thank you. Do you want to know who my icon is? Go on.
Jojo.
Oh, babe!
Thank you. Yeah.
Do you want to know who my icon is? Oh, here we go, yes.
Sir David Attenborough.
Oh, that's a good one!
I absolutely love Aretha Franklin. I love her style.
She was the queen of soul.
You never breathe like this.
Cha-cha look.
It looks simple.
You've got to straighten your knee, but it requires a lot of work.
Yes! Beautiful.
If we can just nail the choreo, then I can start thinking about actually how to
perform this dance. The fear of dancing on television is always just going to be
there. Every week, I've just been riddled with nerves. But this week, I
would like to feel confident.
Boom! I love that. I'm hoping that doing Aretha is going to be like a sneaky way
of forgetting that it is still me on the dance floor.
Nancy,
my girlfriend Mads and me are going to go out and have a nice night and see
some live music.
Have you told her what we're going to do? Respect, very frankly.
You know, she's from Tennessee, so I'm just saying. So it just feels right.
Doing a character this week is going to be nice. Put the nerves to have someone
to, like, channel. And that's what you're good at, the characterization,
the lyricism, like, really feel it in your body. I want to stay right here
with you.
I have had so much fun tonight.
To have Mads here was special.
She has been so supportive. I'm just incredibly proud to see her just come
out and be more and more of herself because I think everyone deserves to see
that. Respect is the perfect song for Bethany because it just exudes
confidence. I could not be more excited.
Oh, thank you, guys. This was so nice.
Dancing the cha-cha.
Bethany Antonia and Nancy Shue.
Just a little bit.
Mr. Just a little bit.
It was phenomenal.
And I know you've loved being Aretha this week, haven't you? Oh, so much. So
much. Do you know what?
You so embody the character, I was surprised you had a Brummie accent then.
Don't start. No, we're not talking about Brummie accents. Don't start.
Motsi, did that get your aria? Oh, do you know what? Motsi... No, I loved it.
I loved it. You have a natural feel for movement.
You had really nice body waves and cute embrace. I could see the cha-cha-cha.
I can see that you know what's happening in your arms, your legs, like you know
what you have to do. I just looked here and I saw that you still have a few
Latin dances coming.
and for these latin dancers that are coming i need you to understand where
your weight is first of all and secondly leg action when do we have a straight
leg and when we have a bent knees it was a little bit confusing if you get that
action that cuban action that understandness of what you're doing when
you're doing latin it's going to be super great it was great it was fun but
i want super great for you yes thank you thank you charlie
Think it takes a lot of confidence to start on your own at the top of those
stairs So first of all, I admire you for that
And I'm going to say this, because I think of everybody that's in the
competition, you have the potential to have the best body action.
So you've got shoulder rolls going on.
There's a fluidity inside the body. I agree with Moxie. If you could get the
posture a little bit more in a straight line, Nancy.
Work the arms a little bit more in front of the body than behind.
I think you're actually quite a force to be reckoned with. I think we've just
tapped the iceberg with you, but you've got some great fluidity. Do not lose
that, because that's your music. The technique and things... like that you
can fix. The leg action, arm action. Why are you staring at me?
Tap the iceberg.
I enjoyed that. Tap of the iceberg.
Just a tap of the iceberg.
No, I think we should tap it.
We're going to tap that iceberg.
Has someone got a bucket of water we can throw on Charlie?
What is going on with you two tonight?
You are on the right track, for sure. Well done, Nancy.
Stay away from the iceberg.
Iceberg!
Anton. Tap an eye.
Tap, tap, tap.
Icebergs. Now, listen, you are magnificent when you're... Now, I don't
want it to sound wrong, but... Oh, the shades are coming off. When you're
standing still, you're magnificent. It's all going on, isn't it? The body's, ooh,
have some of that. Come on.
And you could see it underneath his jacket.
When you move, it doesn't work as well because the weight's too far, as I think
Motsi said, the weight's too far back. You've got to get that weight much more
forward. And all that stuff that you're doing here...
is going to come out when you're moving around the floor as well and
unfortunately a lot of the dancing when it moves around the floor see so you've
got to get this moving forward like this because in principle everything you do
is well it's just a tap of an iceberg away from being magnificent
oh dear what have we all turned
into
I know.
I think your footwork was a problem for you and that then translated through to
the straight leg and all of that. It could have been cleaner. A bit more
connection together.
I felt it lacked a little bit of fluidity, so I don't agree with Shirley.
And that's only when you're in hold.
But, you know, what you did bring to it was performance.
A confident, confident performance.
And that was absolutely worth... watching i
know you get nervous every week was it kind of
more nerve-wracking this week because you were being aretha yeah i think it
helped i think it was like today i was just like i just have to be her and she
was not nervous at all so good yeah you were amazing thank you honestly head on
upstairs
This song is about knowing your power and your strength, isn't it?
Yeah. How did you find your inner diva? Oh, it was just so good to channel her
this week and to just think, like, she did this for herself, she loved it, she
knew who she was, and we tried to channel that all week and just, like, be
the best versions of ourselves.
Oh, baby, now the cha-cha-cha can look easy.
I know.
But now you know that it's not. How did that be?
It's so hard. It is a lot of work, right?
Why does everything start on two?
We're still asking the same question. Your scores are in. The judges have
their scores.
Six.
Seven.
Seven. Seven.
Seven.
Well done, you two.
If Bethany and Nancy have won your support, then you can vote for them
later on tonight.
Still to come, Jamie does the Paso as David Bowie.
What are you dancing to?
Let's Dance.
With pleasure.
Whoa.
It's all happening tonight.
It's all happening tonight.
Right, our next celebrity has already had quite the ride on Strictly. Yes, he
was joint bottom of the week one leaderboard, got a standing ovation for
his Saturday night fever salsa, and last week he won his first dance-off. He has
loved every minute on the dance floor so far, and tonight he's performing his
couple's choice as James Brown.
It's Sean and Alexis.
What I'm doing on Strictly is miles, or if not light years, out of my comfort
zone.
But I'm no stranger to facing a challenge.
As a teenager, I got scouted by Nottingham Forest.
It was all set up for me to sign. They turned around and said that I was too
small and wasn't good enough.
My mum brought us up quite resilient.
If you fall down, you get back up and you try again. And I think in many ways
it did help me a lot.
After signing for Manchester City, as a 15-year-old kid, I had to leave home.
It was always going to be hard in respects of I've never left my mum for
more than two or three days.
My mum is pretty much my best friend.
I can't really put it in words, but I am really proud of the man that Sean has
become. We do a lot together. We do sing all the time and have dancing
competitions as well. We do do a bit of dancing in the kitchen.
No matter what team I was at, what party I was at, if the players didn't see her,
the first thing they say to me is, where's your mum? Did you bring your
mum?
Music's always been, I think, just a part of our family.
I'd say my love of music stems from my mum.
Sunday, wake up, mum would be cooking and cleaning and there would always be
music playing. You very rarely got a lion.
Oh, don't worry.
Then it went on to the point of, oh, I'm going to be a DJ. So then I remember
getting some decks and we used to bring the speakers out onto the council flat
balcony and drag all the wires through mum's house. So in the summer, we would
all just hang in the stairway and just play music all the time.
The music's blazing out.
I don't understand how there wasn't any complaints. I would be the neighbour
that would noise complain.
It's going to be really exciting to do this James Brown dance because I think
for most of my life, music has been a big part. And come Saturday, I'm going
to try and have as much fun as possible.
Do you guys have any advice for Sean, you boy?
He's always going to want to be the best version of himself.
That comes natural to him. I think just, like, enjoy it.
Music made everybody happy, and I do still see it that way today.
Dancing their couple's choice, Sean Wright Phillips and Alexis Ward.
i feel nice like sugar and spice
OK. Oh, Sean.
OK, good.
Craig, I saw you nodding away there during that.
Yes, I was loving it until... I was loving it... ..until it went horribly
wrong, darling.
I love what you did.
You know what you did?
You got out of time on that very last...
is my favorite one of your dances she was grooving it out it was brilliant
oh moxie my friend come on yes you were bouncing up and down yeah
because you know what i and i think we all feel that and i think everybody's
rooting for you because we see you how hard you are trying you're trying every
week and the past weeks it's always like your list you're looking always what
alexis is doing but you're doing it correct and i feel like this week You're
finally trying yourself to be, I'm confident on the dance floor. I'm doing
my routine.
I'm pleasing my teacher, but I'm also pleasing myself.
And that is the road to being a professional on this show.
Remember?
Remember?
I think, I think, and that might happen. That might happen. But what counts is
that you continue.
And a lot of people have been doing mistakes today. So you're not the only
one. Keep that groove.
Keep that passion. Keep that love.
But most of all, you bring us joy. You bring us joy.
Shirley, it does count, doesn't it, that he kept going?
Well, last week, you were in the bottom two, and it's always a little bit nerve
-wracking to come back and dance like that. This was iconic.
It was exceptional. It was synchronised. I loved the way you were in front and
that you were aware of Alexis behind you. She flies into those tricks.
I actually didn't see where the mistake is. Maybe you need to take your glasses
off. No, darling. No, I didn't see it.
I didn't see the mistake.
You just came out here and you sold every part of it, you know, and I
really, really enjoyed watching it.
Hands on full house.
Get up off of that thing!
I thought it was... Listen, I really enjoy... Your journey to professionalism
is going to be a rollercoaster of a ride. You started low, then we had the
salsa was high, and then we were there again. This week, you're back up top.
I thought this was terrific.
Well done, you.
Get up off of that thing!
Do you know what? I prefer him when he's not a Gallagher brother.
I really do.
Sean, incredible comments. You're the first person I've seen who almost got a
second standing ovation after the first.
Are you happy?
Yeah, I'm blown away. I think we picked this dance because we wanted to bring
joy and excitement to not just the audience here, but the ones watching on
TV as well, and that's what the dancers are about. It's exactly what you've
done. It's exactly what you've done.
Oh, absolutely.
Go upstairs, get your stores. Well done.
Thank you.
When Shirley Bella says you're iconic, you must be feeling great!
Second compliment from her. I'm over the moon right now.
Well, we just saw just how much music means to you. Did you feel like you
brought yourself to that performance?
Yeah, that was the whole point of it, obviously for the fans and everyone
watching, but that's part of my history, my family.
And James Brown, I just feel, was an inspiration for everybody.
Absolutely. When his music dropped, everybody's head rocked.
And that's why I wanted to continue.
Now, how did it feel? Oh, listen.
You can go ahead, give him a hand.
Now, how did it feel to share this experience with your family and Alexis?
There's no words that can put that into an explanation, to be honest with you.
When it comes to my mum and that, not a lot of people get to meet her.
and sit down and break bread and have a laugh.
She's so lovely. She just fit right in, to be honest. Yeah.
Like, she just fit like a little sister. She just slotted right in. Yeah.
We love mums.
Your scores are in. Will the judges please reveal their scores?
And Tom Dubé. Salud!
Yes!
That's a score of 28.
That's a high score. Go for it, Poo Poo. If you want to
support Sean and Alexis and see them dance again next week, then you can vote
for them at the end of the show tonight.
Emma and Josh.
Next on the dance floor with an Adele classic, it's Lacey and Vito.
Now, after their samba last Saturday, Motsi said she needs to not be shy, just
come out and sell it like a showgirl.
I mean, Emma, it's easy to talk the talk, but I don't see Motsi walking the
walk on these things.
Yes!
She is.
She walked the walk! She walked the walk!
One, two, three. This week, we are dancing the American Smooth.
To Adele's hometown glory.
Boom. Nice.
I love Adele. I've always loved Adele. I feel like I sort of grew up with her.
People, boom.
Another one?
The choreography I choose for our American Smooth is like water, so you
see very calm up, but underwater there are like vortex, there is an entire wall
underneath. Beautiful!
I really like the lifts, the coming down from them I still got to work on.
I am actually really excited for this one.
Training is going well, so I've got a special treat for Lesley to get her into
the zone and channel our inner Adele.
Hey, Adele is in the house.
Vito looked nothing like Adele. He looked like ginger spice.
But he did look wonderful.
And five, six, seven, eight.
There is fire starting in my heart.
You can call me Adele now.
It's bringing me out of the dark.
I kind of gave a little bit of choreography with that. You know, my
voice switching from deep to high.
I just need to be clear that that was one of the best things I've ever
witnessed. I was going to be a backup singer, but I missed all my cues, so
I've lost that job now.
Well, I think I'm supposed to be Adele, but he is a much better Adele.
So we'll let him be Adele today, and then I'll be Adele on Saturday.
Boom! Very good.
Lacey Turner and Vito Coppola.
Is there anything I can do for you, dear?
Is there anyone I could call?
No, and thank you, please, my darling. I ain't lost, just wondering.
Round my hometown,
my memories are fresh.
Round my hometown.
Heartbreaking at the end.
Heartbreaking. Shirley, what did you think of Lacey's American Smooth?
Well, I loved all the highlights that you did, the tricks. They're very, very
difficult and we're in week four. They're what you expect to see in the
final. So anything where you're being lifted was absolutely extraordinary.
I think it's just a postural thing generally for everybody.
I think if you take a... Oh, that's my telephone. If I take a piece of string
and pull it all the way out and lengthen you a little bit... It does look a
little bit like you're hanging on him. I mean, he's got a great frame, he shifts
across the floor, but I'd like you to be a little bit lighter.
You don't have to dance on your own, but lift your body a little bit more for me.
And then some details. I want some extra details now as we're moving into week
five. I want to know where the ends of the hands are, where the arms, elbows,
wrists and hands. I want to know where the shape is. I want to know where the
music is in the upper half of the body as well as the lower half. But those
lifts were so impressive.
Well, I enjoyed the performance, actually, because it's an American
smooth. I enjoyed it, and I liked it because it had a lot of speed in it.
Although it was a slow dance, it had a lot of speed through the dance.
And I liked the way you gave yourself up to it. It was, well, I would describe it
as a sloshy dance.
It was moving around constantly, arms are floating about. Up she'd go, whiz,
down she'd come, drag, off she'd go again. I like that, because I don't
want... Because nothing gets... I don't get stuck on anything.
And you don't, oh, suddenly we're going to do this. It just flowed through, and
I like that. It took you a bit by surprise, I think.
I thought you coped with it just.
Moving forward into your ballroom dances, though, I really want you to
focus on taking larger steps.
Got away with it tonight, because it's an American Smooth, and you spent half
the time... in the air but when you're doing the ballroom dances you must take
longer steps because otherwise you're going to get yourself compromised on
every second step so try and give that some thought moving forward because i
think you've got a super amount of talent and i think we're getting to see
some really lovely dancing from you
Yes, I do agree with Anton I had an issue with your free arm. I kept
watching it because Direction and it lacked Intent
you have to tell the story all the way through from the shoulder to the elbow
to the wrist to the end of the fingers It's really really important.
I felt like you forgot about that as you were thinking about going into the next
step So just remember that for the future, but you have
Flow you have connection I can see there was a fantastic story together there and
I think you're a really strong partnership The
message is very unison and the judges agree and it's quite a clear message
with your posture with the tone in your body get that right i think we all see
what a talented dancer you are you are so talented it looks so easy when you
dance and we all know it's difficult and that is the talent you need so maybe i
think you know we look like this today you need to create an alter ego that
when you step on the dance floor you're not lazy who's shy and and scared you
just create your own beyonce and then you go in and and kind of i'm still
reeling from what you did as beyonce
Can't get that image ever move my head Give
more give more give more
you have you have plenty new suitcase open it up and give to us. Yes. Let's go
Just kind of reflecting on what Moxie said, do you know
how good you are do you find that hard to kind of take?
She's like, please don't say that to me.
I'm definitely growing.
It's just very slow. Because you are beautiful to watch.
And I feel like everybody thinks that apart from you.
Honestly. It's a big deal to come out here.
It is. And I just need to grow.
The thing is, you've been paired with someone as shy as Vito. I know.
The patience this man has is unbelievable.
It was beautiful, honestly.
Thank you. Know how good you are. Thank you. Go get your scores. Thank you so
much.
Darling, you spend the whole week saying you are not elegant. I think everybody
here will disagree.
You were phenomenal.
Thank you.
Thank you. No, right? Now, I'm looking at your journey.
Three weeks ago, you started off with a cha-cha-cha, a quick step and a samba.
Now, Mummy, that's not a soft launch into Swigley Camp dancing.
How did you say you loved the Americans move?
Oh, I've had the most lovely week It's been so nice to do something that sort
of calm and slow and floaty. It's been lovely It really has. Thank you for a
lovely week. No, thank you for being you How amazing she is and also what they
said the judges said it's absolutely true We're gonna work, you know, it's
like you are a turtle and you are inside the shell So we want to take the head a
bit out, you know, like a like a little something comes out
Your scores are in the judges scores are in Craig revel hall seven
And Vito's American smoothies your favorite dance of the night then you can
help them by voting at the end of the show Emma Next with a salsa inspired by
ABBA. It's Graham and Lauren now Graham is gonna be Bjorn and Lauren is gonna be
Agneta But who will the other two members be I hear you ask
What? Oh, wow.
Yeah. We're not doing it? No.
Right, I'm going to go get changed. No! No, you're going to stay here and we're
going to admire you for a while, because this is special.
It's Graham and Lauren.
Graham?
We're doing ABBA for Icons Week, so I've brought you to Mamma Mia! The Party!
Fantastic!
I remember as a kid, ABBA were all the thing. And I just grew up with it all. I
just love the tunes.
It's really immersive, but the dancers are all around you. It's a fantastic
show.
it's just great fun you can't help but sing along and as it turns out do a bit
of dancing i looked over my shoulder at one point and there
was the biggest smile on his face so hopefully he carries that smile through
to the weekend well now we've done this i can't wait to get get to training feel
inspired i do give me give me more of it we are dancing a salsa
so we want it to be Full of flavour, full of hips. One and two, three and
four. It's very Latin, very fast, very exciting.
Salsa's got more bent legs and we're working into the floor.
Lauren's thing this week is the floor's your enemy, which is the opposite of
what she usually says.
Into the floor. By which I mean I need to stamp into it now and again.
Yeah, sorry floor.
Three and four. For me, this icon wig is the whole Strictly experience.
And I get to dress up and wear a wig.
Hopefully there might be some sparkles as well, and then my life will be
complete.
Dancing the Salsa, Graham Hall and Lauren Oaken.
the shadows away.
We are gonna say a huge thanks to some absolute icons of the ballroom. Of
course, mr. Dave arch I
have
to take my gloves off to believe actually what I was saying That was the
weirdest salsa I think I've ever experienced in 22 years And you know
what It was genius.
It was.
I mean, yes, you can have a little bit of a more figure eight there, but you
took it to extremes. Thank you.
Graham, Graham, you know, you are so committed. You are so committed.
In the middle of that, I got worried. I was like, is this man breathing?
Is he going to survive?
Yeah, just breathe a little. A little bit let loose, but this is commitment.
Iconic commitment.
Thank you. Thank you.
Shirley, you look like you're having a great time. I'm a little bit speechless.
I'm a little bit like Craig. I mean, the Mamma Mia experience at the O2, by the
way, that you went to, I went for my birthday, and it really is the
experience. And I think you bought it here this evening. You give 150
% of yourself.
Every single part of your body is moving. We've just got to get it
organised a little bit as we move in the competition.
But absolutely fun and fantastic.
Do you know what?
What a way to find out I wasn't invited to Shirley's birthday. Absolutely.
And Tom, were you there? You're still my icon, you are still my icon.
I have to tell you, when I was watching the VT there and you were talking about,
you know, legs being a bit straight and you've got to bend your knees, I
thought, oh, we might end up with straight legs on this, it could be a bit
awkward. And then you began, you stood there and you sort of walked in there, a
little bit upright with your high heels and your lycra, and I thought, well,
that's nice, and then you started, and you were down! And he was off!
Like this. I thought you'd dropped an earring or something. It was so...
It was incredible.
Last week, I said the whole thing was a bit tea for two. This week, no.
I want more of this. This was on the edge. You were right on... You were
redlining, as they say. I want you to stay there, please, because this I
really enjoyed. Well done. You got it.
Oh, man.
You... Super.
You can't argue with those comments. We've got, on the edge, we've got,
reminded you of my birthday, worried you weren't breathing, and from Craig,
genius.
Nothing's more iconic. Go up. Thank you.
Thank you. Thank you, guys.
Thank you.
Thank you.
CHEERING AND APPLAUSE
Listen,
Graham, your Beyond was iconic.
Thank you.
Right?
Where did that...? I'm just... I'm shocked.
I don't know where it came from, really. I've never been Swedish.
Now, let's talk about the stamina in that dance.
Did you ever think that you'd be dancing at that pace in week four?
No. I thought the jive was quick last week. That was quicker. Well, certainly
a lot more energy involved.
It's the crowd.
It's great. Yeah. Yeah. And it's such a lot of fun to dance.
It was. It was. Now, that's the thing about you, you come alive on a Saturday
night. He does. He does. Where does that come from?
I just love the live audience.
You really feel the love from people. It's great.
It was great.
It was great. Thank you. Your scores are in.
Will the judges please reveal their scores?
Shirley bounce and Tom do back The
vote will open
very soon if Graham and Lauren were your favorite couple of the evening Then you
can vote for them once everyone has performed not long now. We only have two
couples left to dance now Do you know who I miss?
Mr. Neil Jones
I thought you'd never asked me to come up here. Listen, please do the audience.
And everyone at home, don't worry if you ever feel like you're missing out,
because don't forget, you can keep up with everything that happens off the
dance floor by heading to TikTok, Instagram and Facebook.
Just search for the BBC Strictly Accountant. And do you know what? I've
always wanted to do this.
Emma and Joshi.
Iconic! He's iconic.
Next tonight... It's Jamie and Carlos with a Paso Doble inspired by David
Bowie. Emma, did you see who's in tonight? Yes, Mr Ray Winston.
Yeah.
But it is a little bit embarrassing, isn't it? Do you remember that message
he sent to Jamie last week where he called Carlos Carlo?
Yeah. Do you think I should set him straight?
You want to set straight Ray Winston. He needs to know.
Go on, then. Do you think I should? Yeah, you go for it. Do you think it's a
good idea? Yep. OK. Yep.
No, it'd be fine. It's Jamie and Carlo Saturday
night massive improvement from week before Shirley said we took all the
judges comments aboard and we're going in the right direction Which just feels
really positive to go into this next dance speaking of the next dance.
Come on I love this answer is Paso Doble to David Bowie
Your favourite icon? One, two... My icon is the greatest artist of all time in my
eyes. Very Bowie. Very rock and roll.
Paso Doble is all about drama and intensity.
Who doesn't love drama?
I'm really enjoying the Paso. What a powerful dance.
Beautiful. But to fully embody Bowie, we're now off to the David Bowie
experience, and I can't wait.
It's great to take a break from training and immerse ourselves into Bowie's
world.
Wow!
Oh, look at that!
The space is incredible.
He looks so cool.
He was kind of effortlessly iconic, visually, spiritually.
He moved so free, like he didn't care, he'd just go.
David Bowie was just such a huge influence on my life. I mean, he was so
quirky and he was so different. And there's power in that.
Owning your weirdness.
You know, I can relate to that sometimes.
I feel like I can use that. I feel truly inspired.
Me too.
All we've got to do now is... Let's dance.
Let's dance, baby.
Turn on your red shoes and dance the blues.
Let's dance.
To the song they're playing on the radio.
Let's sway.
Wild color lights up your face.
Let's sway.
Sway through the crowd to an empty space.
If you say no, I'll run with you.
And if you say hi, we'll hide.
Because my love for you would break my heart in two.
If you should fall into my arms and go like a...
Let's dance. Let's dance.
Do you know what I have always questioned my favorite era of David
Bowie and it turns out it's you And I've got to ask carlo that spin
Jamie what even was going on? I don't know. I just loved it. It was amazing It
felt so iconic. It was iconic.
All jaws were on the floor.
Ah, Anton.
Ah. Ah. Ah. Ah. Indeed.
Ah. That is the best thing you've done in this whole competition.
Thank you. Absolutely great.
It was strong, it was dynamic, you had great shape, you had great power. The
floor spin went on and on and on. It was just immense.
I loved it. Well done.
Thank you.
Craig. Yeah.
You totally smashed that, darling, out of the pool. That was...
I could go on with No,
I I thought that was so clever. Like, it was beautiful, it was a paso, but it
felt like a piece of art. And I loved the both of you, like, mirroring each
other. I love when you take time to show dance, and you're so strong. I think
that dance-off is the best thing that could ever happen to you. You're a new
person. I love you in this competition.
Well done, guys. Thank you.
Thank you.
Well, today is the first day that I saw form in the upper half of the body, so I
told you not to throw away your arms. You took that criticism. Thank you so
much. You improved it 100%. The timing was good. I love the character of the
choreography with the music, so very clever for you, Carlos.
The whole thing had passion. I love the height changes. I love it when it goes
slow. I love it when it's sped up.
I just loved it. Thank you. Thank you. We love you. Thank you.
That was great. Well done.
I mean...
All the way across the table You
know,
that's just feels amazing. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you so much. Honestly,
it was amazing I don't know. How do you even stop when you're spinning so fast
like that? You have a very proud dad over there as well
To the dancing in a minute. Can we talk about costume?
You know what I mean?
Listen. Love the team.
A massive thank you to our glam team.
We love you guys. Thank you so much.
All these beautiful transformations. It's stunning.
Can I keep it, please?
Don't be greedy. I would.
Listen, you danced to your favourite icon.
I did.
Carlos's favorite dance It was so special it just felt
very epic it felt like a dream came true You know and I used to dance didn't know
dad to that in the front room bounce from sofa to sofa She know every single
lyrics Barry songs Looked at my babe now Carlos I
Need to ask you a bum spin finishes a dance, but you had that in the middle of
the choreography What are you doing to this moment woman?
When I well, we know we're going to do paso I said to her first thing I said,
are you ready? She said yes I have to put drama in I have put everything
daddy's here. I have to do his proud And you did him proud your scores are in the
judges have their scores craig revel hall h
Moxie Medusa. Nine.
Shirley Barrett. Eight.
Anton Dubé. Nine.
and you want to see them return to the dance floor next week, then you can vote
after all of tonight's couples have performed.
You don't have long to wait now. There's only one icon left to come. Josh and
Emma.
Next tonight, it's Will and Diane.
Now, Will has had an extremely busy week because alongside learning the jive, he
has become a dad for the first time.
So, our judges have got some very special gifts for Will and the baby. So,
Shirley has got them a teeny tiny pair of shoes from her ever-growing
collection.
Craig has got them a teeny tiny one paddle so the baby can score his dad
from home. And I got Will this teeny tiny violin, just in case I ever hear
him complain about how tidy he is after it was his fiancée that gave birth.
Big week this week. Very big week. The jive. Got the jive. Also, I've had a
baby. Yeah.
Oh, my God.
You're a daddy. I'm a daddy.
Oh, I'm going to cry. I'm crying.
I'm crying. Are you crying?
We are now in the mum and dad club.
How's Tobe's feeling? She's great.
Good. What I will say is you will feel tired, but it's like a magical tired.
You're tired from exhaustion of loving them so much.
What I was going to say was like seeing the way you've been like, I'm going to
get emotional.
You're inspirational.
You are doing all of this and you've got a baby and you are clearly the most
amazing mum. So I want to try and learn from you.
Oh, bless you.
You know what I'm trying to say. Well, you're going to be the most amazing dad
and all I can say is we can do it together.
Us and everyone else out there with kids. Big up their mums and their dads
and everything in between.
Exactly. Let's go and do some jive.
One, two, four, kick. This week's going to be a good lesson in time management.
I am doing a jive to Elton John.
To the right, to the left. The jive requires a lot of energy, so we're
trying to pace ourselves.
Night, night, mate.
Mate, you sleep well.
I cannot wait to embody Elton.
Toby, my fiancée, she just wants me to do well. And I just feel unbelievably
lucky to be able to do something as mad and fun as this and then go back to a
little baby.
This is a good week.
Dancing the Jive.
Please welcome to the stage Will Best and Diane Boswell.
We had so much fun, holding hands and skimming stones.
Had an old goat shell in a place of my own with the biggest guy I ever got.
Was doing a thing called the crocodile walk.
While the other kids were walking around the park.
We were hopping far to the crocodile walk.
Try not walking, it's all for shot. But your feet just can't keep still.
Yes, I never will
She just can't keep still.
Oh, I never knew we had a better time. And I guess I never will.
I won't hold on to mother over Friday nights when she didn't want her dresses
tied. And the caravan was out of sight.
Congratulations. Thank you. Thank you so much. Congratulations.
And as a gift, I'll just tear this off your feet while you get here. Oh.
And considering you've been quite occupied this week, I think you smashed
that. Thank you. Honestly. Best teacher in the world.
Best choreographer.
Brilliant. Just fun.
Moxie, you loved what you did last week.
What about this week? Well, hi, Daddy.
So, listen, I love that you are so consistent. Every week is just like a
shooting star doing his things. No path, no drama, no whatever.
You come here, you are well rehearsed, well prepared.
You know your choreography.
Well done, Diane. Great work, guys. Keep going. Listen to the music just a little
bit more. But I love your journey.
You're going to be extremely proud of yourself.
I noticed you started off with a mooch over there, got an American spin, excuse
me. A nice rotation on the link that joins all the figures together. I'm
watching. Very, very good. I would say, for me, this is your best dance so far,
and you've danced it extremely well.
I'm so, so happy for you. Good job. Oh, that's a great week to have, isn't it? I
really agree. A brilliant routine.
By the way, brilliantly put together and brilliantly danced. Your best dance by
far. Well done, you.
My advice to you is continue to not sleep.
It works wonders for your dancing.
I don't know. For me, it was a little bit sort of stick insect-like.
I just wanted to actually calm down a little bit.
But I have to say, I mean, that was a complex routine with the rhythms and
everything. You got even some wonderful slip in there, darling. You were very
synchronised, it was tight, it was clean. I think you did a fantastic,
fantastic job of it. Thank you.
Thank you
Thank you. Can I have another iconic entrance?
Please talk to me. Oh, yeah. We love a big entrance, don't we? We do. We love
the piano.
We loved it.
Speaking of big entrances, can I say hello to somebody very special? Oh, my
gosh. Who are you going to say? Sonny.
Sonny. Oh, don't.
I hope you're enjoying the show.
He can only see about three inches in front of his face, but I think he's
enjoying it.
Well, speaking of Sonny, we've got something for you. No, don't.
Oh, OK.
Now die what a special week to be partnered with this man Oh my gosh,
honestly, to come after having a little child, I know how hard that is. It
brought back so many memories, but I'm just, I'm so proud of you for getting
out there and doing a jive of all loops.
No sleep, a jive with the most steps we've ever put in. Yeah, you were
amazing. Thank you so much. He nailed down and he did it for little Sonny.
Absolutely.
How is Sonny?
He's doing well.
He's doing good. Well, your scores are in. The judges' scores are in.
Craig Revel Hall.
Seven.
Maxine LaBruce. Eight.
Shirley Ballas. Eight.
Anton Dubek. Eight.
People be part if he wants to see Will and Diane back here again next week You

fabulous night of icons, but there are two people missing up here
Genuinely an unbelievable night. And you are our icon as well, isn't she? Yes,
she is.

take on the dance-off and very soon we'll find out which judges will have
the casting vote but first there is one thing we need to do this week Emma. It's
my turn?
It's your turn.

OK, very best of luck, everybody, because the vote is now... ..over!

then you will need to vote for them. Voting will open on close, sorry, at 8

Tomorrow, two couples will dance for their place in the competition, and we
can now reveal the judge with the casting vote this week is...
Shirley!
Moxie is cheering in tomorrow night's results show.
The pros celebrate the Queen of Pop, Madonna, in their latest group
performance. Plus, there's a very special tribute to the late, great Dolly
Parton. Next on BBC One, it's Wisdom of the Crowd. We'll be back tomorrow at ten
past seven, where one of these couples will reach the end of their dancing
adventure. Until then, everybody squeeze in tight.
Are we all ready?
Keep dancing!
