=Episode 16=

(Ye's Mansion)

My Lord.

(Governor Ye) Why didn't you tell me about the guest?

I knew you were busy, so...

Hasn't my daughter come back yet?

She has.

But she went out again.

Where did she go?

You,

go and get her back.

Yes.

And tell her,

don't go outside these days.

It's not safe recently.

- Go. - Yes, my Lord.

Mr. Murong,

sorry to keep you waiting.

My apologies.

I knew official duties kept you busy.

I should have notified you in advance.

Have a seat, please.

Why are you sighing, Lord Ye?

Is it because the auction items were stolen,

isn't it?

It is.

If you don't mind,

you can talk to me,

Lord Ye.

You?

Lord Ye,

Lu Feibai's scam

was exposed by my master.

It's you!

My apologies.

Mr. Murong,

to be honest,

I'm just a local governor,

so I shouldn't have meddled in it.

But…

But Mr. Xi gave you so much

that you couldn't turn him down.

That's right, Mr. Murong.

However,

I'm not a greedy man

who will do anything for money.

I did this all for my daughter.

I have to dower her in the near future.

But who knows she is so self-willed!

Of all the men,

she chose this...

I'm sorry to bother you

with these trifles.

It's alright.

I can understand

a father's feeling.

How about telling me

the security measures of the auction.

I‘ll see if there is any weak point.

Well...

Alright.

Things of the auction were like…

Get out of the way!

Who did this?

It's her!

She pushed my lady

off the building.

Go get her!

Resisting arrest,

obstructing the course of our duty.

Arrest this man too!

Try it.

Go get him!

- Mengmeng! - Don't move!

Put down you weapon!

If you don't want her to die in front of you,

surrender yourself!

You've got the wrong person.

I told you,

it's hard to fight in a skirt.

Move, move.

Move.

Move.

Your Highness!

Move!

(Penitentiary of Hui County) Hurry up!

Hurry!

Move!

- Let go of me! - Move!

Get in!

- Hurry up! - Mengmeng!

Mengmeng!

Leave her alone!

Let her go!

Mengmeng!

- Zhe Xiang! - Mengmeng!

- Zhe Xiang! - Mengmeng!

- Get in! - Over there!

Calm down, gentlemen!

- Mengmeng! - Please don't!

It wasn't me!

I didn't kill her!

You didn't?

- Mengmeng! - What are you doing?

Mengmeng, what are they doing to you?

- Whip you, of course. - No, no, no.

Wait a moment, man!

I'm only supposed to be a suspect.

You shouldn't torture me!

You should abide by the procedural law!

Shouldn't you?

Procedural law?

Of which kingdom?

I've never heard about that.

Me neither.

You are in jail now.

You are supposed to be tortured.

You think you come here to visit?

I want to go back.

Don't talk nonsense to her. Let's do as usual.

Do it.

Mr. System,

I want to go back to the society ruled by law!

Salt?

I've heard of putting salt on wounds,

but not putting it before the torture.

Good for you.

I'll show you today.

Stop it!

Mengmeng, hang in there!

I'm coming for you!

Have you lost your mind, Song Che?

They are beating Mengmeng.

I'll kill you!

All of you!

Let me out!

If this is the case,

the security system is basically foolproof.

There should be no one breaking in.

Let alone

throw a smoke bomb and

take away the flower and people in public.

Right.

I also can't figure it out.

What's wrong?

My lord!

Bad news!

Why are you so flustered?

That's inappropriate.

- Tell me. What happened? - Bad news!

You asked to me to find your eldest daughter.

I found her, but she...

What happened to her?

She died!

Who killed my daughter?

The killer is called

Jiang Mengmeng.

What?

Hurry.

Mengmeng, Mengmeng!

It's so hard to open it.

Hurry up.

Leave her alone!

- Step away. - Mengmeng!

Mengmeng!

Why is he so anxious?

Hurry.

Mengmeng! I'm gonna kill you!

Murong Chen, Murong Chen!

Song Che, where is Mengmeng?

Help her, help her!

Help her, over there!

Come on, hurry!

Mengmeng, Mengmeng.

Stop it!

It's her who killed my daughter?

Yes.

Give it to me.

You…

The torture is illegal!

My daughter was murdered by her!

It wouldn't work off my anger even if I killed her.

Who dares to hurt the 5th prince?

He is the 5th prince of Cang Yun Kingdom, Murong Chen.

Your Highness!

I'm sorry, Mengmeng.

I'm late.

Murong Chen.

Is that you?

It's me.

I am here.

No one can hurt you anymore.

Why are you staring blankly?

Get everyone out.

Well…

Governor Ye,

you can rest assured that

I'm not abusing my power.

Today I just bail the three of them.

I'll find out

who killed your daughter in three days.

I promise.

Hurry. Let those two out of the jail.

Mengmeng, Mengmeng.

Song Che.

Old bastard!

You whipped Mengmeng.

I'm gonna kill you!

- You… - Song Che!

Mengmeng is badly hurt.

What happened?

We've only been apart for a while,

how come Mengmeng became like this?

You…

You are now blaming me?

If you hadn't written to us to wait for you in the teahouse,

how could Mengmeng suffer from this?

Wrote to you?

I never wrote to you.

It's a set up.

It seems that they were prepared.

You guys take care of Mengmeng.

Where are you going?

I'll find it out.

Come on.

Are you really going to keep your promise?

You are the 5th prince.

Even if you can't find the real murderer,

Governor Ye dares not to do anything to you.

Of course he dares not.

But I have to keep my promise,

and find the murderer.

Then Mengmeng will be innocent.

But it's too dangerous.

Like you said,

they are well prepared.

What if there's a bigger trap waiting for you?

I've thought about it.

Take care of Mengmeng.

Chang Kong,

follow me.

Yes.

How did Murong Chen

suddenly become mature.

He used to fool around.

That's because someone

touched his bottom line.

No matter how casual a person is,

he will become serious

when he meets the things he cares about.

(Qinghui House)

Are you suspecting that

Ye Fei'er's death is related to the theft of blood night-blooming cereus?

I've investigated the auction.

I found the security there extremely tight.

It's hard for outsiders to do it.

If I'm right,

it should be an inside job.

That's why I went to talk to Governor Ye.

Judging from his reaction, Governor Ye

knew nothing about it.

He didn't look like pretending.

If it wasn't Governor Ye,

who would it be?

At first,

I also thought it's a dead end,

until

governor's daughter was murdered,

which brought us some new clues.

You had a clue already.

No wonder you promised to find out the truth in three days.

I'll handle this thing.

You stay and take care of Mengmeng.

I'm staying?

But isn't Her Highness already protected

by Song Che and Zhe Xiang?

Song Che

is simple-minded

and easily deceived.

As for Zhe Xiang...

You still suspect her?

Although she

hasn't done anything out of line now,

I don't totally trust her.

This is about Mengmeng.

I'm more relieved if you stay.

I got it.

Be careful, Your Highness.

Her Highness is awake.

Mengmeng.

Mengmeng.

How do you feel?

Your Highness,

do the wounds still hurt?

I'm fine.

Don't worry.

Where's Murong Chen?

His Highness has gone to investigate Ye Fei'er's case.

Is he alone?

Why didn't bring you.

You have just been bandaged.

Don't move.

Murong Chen is very dangerous now.

I need to go get him.

Your Highness,

you will fall down

as soon as you stand up.

Your Highness,

His Highness didn't wait for you to wake up,

because he didn't want to see you like this.

You'd better take good care of yourself,

and don't let him down.

Have a rest.

Don't worry.

As if she has nothing to do.

Ye Ling'er.

Why didn't you wash the clothes again?

I don't want to.

Don't think the elder lady is gone,

so you can do whatever you want.

I have to teach you a lesson today!

You…

How dare you!

How dare you.

The elder lady is gone.

I'm your new master from now on.

Understand?

Go wash clothes.

You…

you...

(Xuanya House)

Murong Chen,

I know you meant well.

But

how can I repay you?

What are you thinking about?

Nothing.

Right.

Do you have any news about Murong Chen?

Mengmeng,

don't worry about him.

Murong Chen should

be fine.

I'm hungry.

Song Che,

I'm hungry.

Having porridge everyday

can't make me feel full,

and it isn't tasty.

Hunger is a good sign.

What do you want to eat?

I'll have the kitchen cook it for you.

I want

Beggar's Chicken.

Well...

I don't think they can cook that for you.

How about something else?

Alright then.

Then I'll have to sleep hungry.

It must be Beggar's Chicken?

Wait here.

I'll get it for you.

I'll await.

Take your time.

He is so easy to be deceived.

Master.

Have you got it?

Here's all the ties of kinship of Ye family,

and all the information related to Ye Fei'er.

(Information of Ye family)

Well done.

Master.

Lord Chang Kong asked me to investigate Zhe Xiang.

Here is the information about her.

I thought we couldn't get any info about her.

It was difficult to start with Zhe Xiang.

However, another team

made an unexpected discovery

when sorting out the chronological data of Jing Yue Sect,

and found the information.

(Information of Zhe Xiang)

The information in this booklet

cannot be told to anyone else.

Yes.

Mengmeng.

I'm lucky.

I can't bear it.

I‘m tired.

I can't make it.

If my Health Points run out,

I have to leave the game.

Murong Chen,

where are you.

Hurry up.

I can't hold out.

Mengmeng.

Mengmeng.

Murong Chen.

The game is over.

No.

Here is...

Hui County Branch of Tian Ji Pavilion in Cang Yun Kingdom.

You are in my room now.

(Branch of Tian Ji Pavilion)

Yun Ya.

It's...

It's you.

You passed out by the road,

so I took you back.

Looks like I'm hurt badly.

Actually,

you fainted from hunger.

Go eat something.

Come on.

Looks like you're really hungry.

Water, I need water.

I really can't understand

why a patient has to eat porridge only.

How could I recharge by only eating that?

Am I right?

The better way, I think,

is to eat meat.

Right.

You are right.

Yun Ya,

I have something to tell you.

It's important.

Go ahead.

I want to ask you to do me a favor.

Help me find Murong Chen.

That's all?

That's all.

How about Ye Fei'er's case?

You knew it already?

I met you

because I was investigating the case, too.

You were doing it for me?

You hadn't shown up for so long.

I thought you didn't know what had happened to me recently.

I'd rather say

you hadn't thought of me for too long.

Before you knew I was A Mu,

you would come to me

for nothing.

Now,

you are in danger

and need help.

But you didn't think of me.

I was just...

Let me ask you a question.

You got hurt and ran out alone tonight.

Who was you thinking of

at the moment you passed out?

I was thinking of...

Murong Chen.

I'm worried about Murong Chen,

because he is my teammate.

We had an agreement

that we would find the blood night-blooming cereus together.

What's more, I find the flower for you.

Alright then.

I'll help you.

Really?

But

I only do you one favor.

What does that mean?

I'll help you find Murong Chen,

or I'll prove that you are innocent.

Do I have to choose one of them?

Then I'll choose the former.

Help me find Murong Chen.

So,

is finding him more important

than your own life?

My life is more important, of course.

Then why you...

I can save my own life

and prove my own innocence.

But he is my teammate.

I can't watch him in danger

and don't save him.

Jiang Mengmeng,

you've grown up.

In the past,

you were always thinking about relationship

and ran away

when you faced danger.

But now,

you know you need to protect your teammate

despite the danger.

You've become braver

and more responsible.

Stop it.

I feel embarrassed.

Actually,

I can help you with everything.

But now,

since you want to face this alone,

I'll tell you some leads I've got.

Really?

If you want to find out Ye Fei'er's case,

you have to start with the people around her.

People around her...

I saw

her and Mr. Sai fooling around in the street.

Many passers-by saw it too.

She pushed my lady off the building!

It's her.

Thanks, Yun Ya.

I know what to do.

So, Murong Chen...

He's fine.

You don't have to find him.

He will show up.

Alright.

I trust you.

Yun Ya,

wait for me.

When I get the blood night-blooming cereus,

I'll cure your cold poison.

Okay.

I'll wait for you.

But

I got one more question.

What's that?

After you restored your memory,

did I only leave guilt and remorse

in your heart?

Fei'er,

we went shopping and bought rouge together the other day.

How could you leave me!

Fei'er!

(Give regards to the dead)

It's that maid.

It's weird.

Aren't only the relatives of the deceased

eligible to receive mourners?

She's standing by Governor Ye.

Dad.

Don't be too sad, dad.

What's that?

Governor Ye adopt

a maid

as soon as his daughter died?

My sister doesn't

want to see you being so sad.

My Fei'er!

Governor Ye,

my condolences.

- Fei'er! - Stand up.

May I have a word with you, lady.

What's the matter?

I want to ask you a question.

Didn't Governor Ye have only one daughter?

Why he has another one today?

You're not local, are you, young lady?

I'm not.

I came recently.

No wonder you don't know.

That girl

is the illegitimate daughter of Governor Ye.

Her mother died a few years ago.

So, she came to Governor Ye.

Governor Ye

didn't want to admit her origin.

But he was also afraid she would discredit him

if he didn't take her in.

So, he accepted her as a servant girl in the house.

I see.

Poor girl.

But there will be an end to her miseries.

Since the elder daughter has died,

and Governor Ye must have an offspring,

she was admitted

and became the 2nd lady.

A daughter of a concubine! What a story!

I'm leaving if you don't have other things.

Alright. Thank you.

Help the Lord to have a rest.

I want to be with Fei'er.

Fei'er.

She deserves an Oscar.

She acted sad in front of people,

but actually she is glad.

There must be something wrong with her.

Mengmeng.

Mengmeng.

Can you stop disappearing

without saying a word?

I've been looking for you all night,

thinking you were taken by some bad guy.

I'm sorry.

I won't do that again.

(It's because you're so easy to be deceived.)

I promise.

Your Highness,

how do you know there is something wrong with Ye Ling'er.

Oh, it's Yun...

(No, I can't tell them about Yun Ya.)

It's because I'm smart.

Listen up.

There were so many onlookers on the first floor,

but no one saw

how Ye Fei'er fell.

But Ye Ling'er insisted that it was me who pushed Ye Fei'er down.

What's more,

when Ye Fei'er accused me,

Ye Ling'er was beside her

and helped to dramatize.

It's obviously a frame up.

You are so smart, Your Highness!

Murong Chen.

You weren't there that day.

Why do you also suspect Ye Ling'er?

Whom I suspect is not Ye Ling'er,

but Sai Pan'an.

Sai Pan'an?

Is he...

Is he the fiance of Ye Fei'er?

Yesterday was the first day of Ye Fei'er's funeral,

and I was at the gate all day.

I felt something wrong.

I didn't figure out until night

that it was because of Sai Pan'an.

He should have been there,

but he did not show up.

I thought he was too sad

to come.

So, I went to his house.

Do you know what I saw?

I saw Ye Ling'er came in his house.

As soon as his fiancee died,

his sister-in-law came to his house.

I thought it's a story

about a daughter of a concubine who became evil and turned the tables.

It turns out it also involved family ethics.

Anyway, this Sai Pan'an

must not be a nobody.

It must have something

to do with him.

Now we have the suspect.

We need to get the evidence.

Evidence.

Ye Fei'er.

(Ye's Mansion)

Let's go.

Lady first.

I think I stepped on something.

You stepped on my shoe.

I'm sorry.

(Beloved daughter, Ye Fei'er)

Stop pulling my clothes.

But I'm not pulling your clothes.

Then…

Then…
