I mean, total faith that he knows what he s doing.
Here s Michael Turco.
MICHAEL: Thank you very much folks.
We re going to try something tonight a little dangerous.
I need a volunteer.
What s your name?
CHRISSIE: Chrissie.
MICHAEL: Chrissie, come on up here for me.
Guys, give Chrissie a big round of applause.
How are you Chrissie?
CHRISSE: I am great.
MICHAEL: Good.
Come on over here, stand right behind here,
face the audience, big smile.
Alright, good.
Chrissie, I want to tell you here and of course,
everybody else at home please,
don t ever try this at home.
CHRISSIE: Okay.
MICHAEL: It s a little dangerous,
but we are going to do it tonight.
I have 4 coasters.
One, two, three and the fourth one.
The fourth one has a very sharp spike on it.
Check it out, be careful, make sure it s sharp.
CHRISSIE: It s very sharp.
MICHAEL: It s very sharp.
Cool.
Chrissie, four coasters, one spike,
four cups.
Take a cup and place on any coaster you d like.
I like your determined face, it looks good.
Go for it, any coaster you d like.
Keep going, you have two left.
Alright, cool.
Chrissie, and once I m going to ask you to kneel down
here and the objective is you confuse yourself and
even the audience.
We re going to totally lose where the spike is,
okay.
You re going to hold it here like I m doing and if a the
cup should happen to fall off,
take it and place it back on top and keep mixing it up.
Come down here, go for it.
Chrissie, keep mixing up these cups and coasters.
The girl is going to come in front of this box,
she's going to lay the cloth down so you guys can't see
what's happening.
Chrissie, keep mixing them.
Please, don't stop.
Mix, mix and mix.
Perfect.
Chrissie, when you're done, let me know.
Please, take your time, but hurry up.
You're good.
Girls, you can drop the cloth.

CHRISSIE: I think I do.
MICHAEL: You think you do.

Okay.
CHRISSIE: Okay.
MICHAEL: So, I want you to turn this way a little bit.
I want to give them one final mix.
No peeking, no peeking.
Alright.
And then, we'll line them back up.
Okay.
Chrissie, turn back around.
I'm going to ask you another question.
These two, would you like leave them where they are or
switch them.

CHRISSIE: Switch them.

CHRISSIE: Yes.
MICHAEL: It always takes the first one to get everyone to
understand what's going on up here.
Chrissie, you're doing a great job.
We're going to move down the row here,
take two hands, place them on top.
I'm going to give you a little bit of an option
here.
Okay.

Right.
Come a little closer down.
Right or left?
CHRISSIE: Right.
MICHAEL: Right.
Chrissie, that was good.
Cool.
Chrissie, we have two left, it's a 50-50 chance.
CHRISSIE: Yes.
MICHAEL: Come down here, get a good look and let me know
when you're ready.
CHRISSIE: I'm ready.
MICHAEL: You're quick.
CHRISSIE: Yeah.
MICHAEL: Good.
Take your two hands, place them out.
Cool.
Here we go.
Chrissie, I did the first, you did the last one.
You're very confident.
So, I figured let's go with it.
CHRISSIE: Okay.
MICHAEL: Chrissie, think before you answer.
Left or right.

DEAN: Coming up.
Mike Caveney, Angela Funovits and Barry and
Stuart.
DEAN: Our next master illusionist tries to unravel
a mystery.
It is not a question of how, but where?
To shake you up, here is Mike Caveney.
MIKE: Well, thank you very much. Thanks a lot.
I've been standing in crowd since I walked out here.
Gentleman seated right there.
Can you help me out, sir?
A round of applause as he makes his way.
To the great stage.
Your name?
JONATHAN: Jonathan.
MIKE: Jonathan, it's a pleasure to meet you.
I need to borrow a coat, I'm hoping I can use yours.
What do you say?
It's okay?
JONATHAN: Sure.
MIKE: Slide out of the coat.
I will take this coat.
Oh, that's ideal, that's perfect Jonathan.
I'd like you to jump up here in the seat of honor.
Make yourself comfortable right out there.
Lovely jacket.
Hold on right here.
Hold on here.
Left hand goes over hare Jonathan.
JONATHAN: Okay.
MIKE: Eyes straight ahead.
You look like a million bucks.
Now, ladies and gentleman, the basis of hypnosis can be
learned by any idiot.
Allow me to demonstrate.
Jonathan, I will count backwards from 5 to 1.
As I do, you will fall into a deep hypnotic trans.
Five, fours, your eyelids are getting heavy.
Three, two, buckle my shoe.
One, sleep.
Jonathan has fallen into a deep hypnotic trans.
To prove my complete control over him,
Jonathan, look me in the eye.
Like a robot, he obeys my every command.
As further proof I am going to attempt an experiment
using a small square of newspaper.
A small square of newspaper, this pair of cuticle
scissors and Jonathan's coat.
Now, what I'll do is take these scissors,
run them right trough the back of the coat like this.
You'll see them come ripping trough right about here.
Would you like to see that?
AUDIENCE: Yeah.
MIKE: Sleep.
Now, I do think it's interesting to know that
under normal circumstances, this would enrage the owner
of the coat.
But because Jonathan is in a deep cataleptic trans he'll
find this whole thing rather laughable.
Okay, Jonathan hold on here, hold on right over here.
Watch these scissors go right trough the middle of
the coat like that.
Notice the expression on his face is one of amusement.
Of course, the blade of these scissors,
they make only a tiny hole in the material.
It's when I pull the handle of the scissors trough the
lining, you'll actually hear the material as it mends
itself back together.
Listen to the magic.
Ooops.
Oh, bummer.
Deep, deep...
I got hung up on the line.
I can fix that.
Little extra squeeze is all it takes and ladies and
gentleman, that coat is as good as new.
You are in a deep hypnotic trans Jonathan.
Stay right there.
You can come out of your trans.
Yes, I had better get him out of this trans before we
go any further.
Now, listen.
What the heck?
You got a whole on your pocket.
You folks stopped off to dinner on the way down to
the show tonight?
Not to worry.
Snap out of it pal, don't worry about the spoon.
Everybody does it.
Oh, common, one lousy spoon.
You do the same thing your...
It's like you've got a matched set in there,
pal.
He's got a service for 8 in this thing.
This is more then just a hobby for you,
isn't it Jonathan?
Well, I guess that's everything.
Whoa!
This guy has got everything in there,
but the kitchen sink.
You didn't expect the kitchen sink to fall out of
there.
Whoa!
Well, Jonathan I'm kind of surprised you didn't pick up
those nice water pitchers.
I stand corrected my friend.
Well, I got to hand it to you,
you set quite a table there.
Jonathan, you mind if I serve dinner?
Alright.
Who ordered the chicken?
That's it.
Common down here fellows and take that coat.
Hold it there my friend.
A big hand Jonathan.
A big hand for Jonathan's chicken.
I'll see you later.
DEAN: Coming up
Angela Funovits and Barry and Stuart.
DEAN: Now, meet an illusionist who's flame of
light is most revealing.
Do not try this at home.
Here is Angela Funovits.

ANGELA: Thank you. I will need a volunteer.
How about you sir?
Would you mind joining me?
What's your name?
RYAN: Ryan.
ANGELA: Ryan. Very nice.
Give Ryan a big round of applause as he joins me.
So, Ryan I'm going to have you think of someone from
your past.
Okay.
RYAN: Okay.
ANGELA: Someone who's very special to you.
Okay.
And you got someone in mind already,
don't you?
Looks like.
RYAN: Yes.
ANGELA: So, I want you to go ahead and really start
focusing on this person, everything that they meant
to you, maybe some recent experiences that you had
with them.
And now, focus on this person's name.
And there is no way that I could no this person,
right.
RYAN: Correct.
ANGELA: What we're going to do,
they say that fire has the power to reveal things,
to reveal the unknown.
That's exactly what we're going to do here tonight.
And do you remember a specific memory that you had
of this person without actually giving out the
name.
Can you tell us something important that happened with
them?
RYAN: Yes.
They passed away at a young age for me.
ANGELA: Okay.
Alright.
And that stayed with you emotionally.
RYAN: Yes.
ANGELA: Sure.
This person was very special to you?
RYAN: Yes, they were.
ANGELA: Okay.
So, what I want you to do right now is to visualize
that name and just go with the first name in your mind
and start seeing it in this flame as if it is hot like
fire.
Okay?
RYAN: Okay.
ANGELA: Here we go.
Fine.
For the first time, au.
What was this person's name?
RYAN: Tammy.
ANGELA: Tammy.
RYAN: I think you'll agree that that is a darn good
match for Tammy.
Thank you all.
Thank you, Ryan.
Thank you all so much.
Tammy and Ryan ladies and gentleman.
I'm Angela Funovits, thank you so much.
DEAN: Next, Barry and Stuart.
DEAN: Scotland's mad men of mayhem now blend up a unique
look into the inside of magic.
Here are Barry and Stuart.
(APPLAUSE)
BARRY: Thanks.
We would like to do a trick that we call
Stuart's surprising spleen and to do that we need to
borrow something from the crowd.
Everyone in the front row, can you reach in the pocket
or your bag, take out for us your cell phones and hold
them up high.
STUART: Now, in the past we've found it difficult
borrowing things from the people in the audience.
BARRY: Yes.
People, they don't trust us.
Especially with their cell phones.
STUART: Yes.
So, we've developed a gentle persuasive technique to get
around this problem.
You sir.
You sitting right there.
Keep your hands where I can see them and give Barry your
phone.
BARRY: Give it here.
STUART: Common, give it to him or I will give you a wet
Willy with a knife.
BARRY: Have a seat.
What you all just witnessed is a mugging.
STUART: Sorry about that one victim.
BARRY: Victim.
STUART: Sorry, you're not really a victim.
What's your name?
CHARLIE: Charlie.
STUART: Sorry about that one Charlie.
CHARLIE: Charlie.
BARRY: To do this trick we need Stuart's spleen,
we need your phone, but we also need one other thing
and that's this.
High speed blender.
STUART: First, Charlie, your phone goes into the blender.
BARRY: Then, we add some milk,
but don't worry Charlie, this is zero percent fat
milk.
Now, here comes the magic bit.
STUART: Everybody watch very,
very carefully.
Charlie, you might want to look away.
Okay.
Charlie, your phone is all blended up.
Now, we need to give it a shake.
Oh, yes, we do.
BARRY: Just keep telling yourself Charlie this is all
an illusion.
STUART: It's not an illusion.
BARRY: No.
Don't tell him that.
The perfect phone cocktail.
We'd like to call this one text on the beach.
Here we go.
STUART: And now, Charlie to make your phone completely
disappear.
BARRY: Gone, it's fully gone.
STUART: Abracadabra.
BARRY: I know what you are thinking and yes,
you are right, the phone hasn't actually vanished.
The pieces of the phone are right now besides Stuart's
very surprising spleen.
And the thing is with Stuart,
he grew up in the northeast of Scotland on a diet of
oaks, haggis and when he was very,
very young malt whiskey.
And that gave Stuart the property of his very
surprising spleen, didn't it?
STUART: It did.
We can prove that to you now using this X-ray machine.
You see, earlier today I drank a very special
radioactive fluid, sunny dee and Charlie,
it means your phone should show up on an X-ray picture.
Let me just get inside the X-ray machine right here.
We do have a photographic plate that when placed in
front of the machine should develop a picture,
showing us the precise location of your phone.
BARRY: Okay.
Right.
Now, I'm not actually a professional doctor,
but I can tell looking at that very,
very realistic kind of now way fake picture there that
Charlie, your phone is right besides Stuart's very
surprising spleen.
STUART: Yeah.
The phone has reformed itself in my stomach.
Alright.
Barry.
Do it.
Barry, you don't have the phone.
You've messed this up.
Pull your hand back.
BARRY: I'll try not to miss it.
I'll try again.
Stuart, I am stuck.
I am stuck in your ribs.
You know what, I think I'm just going to have to go
forwards.
STUART: Forwards?
BARRY: Yeah.
STUART: God.
Oh!
When was the last time you've clipped your nails,
man?
BARRY: Stuart!
Stuart!
Look.
I've got a phone.
STUART: Charlie, come on up here.
Quick as you can.
Come on, show up yourself.
On the steps.
BARRY: Can you do that any slower?
STUART: Time is money.
BARRY: Charlie, take your phone back.
STUART: Hopefully, if you wipe off the blood and the
bile, that thing still works.
Give it out for Charlie, he goes back to his place.
BARRY: Stuart, I'm going to do a back flip.
STUART: A back flip?
You've lost your mind.

DEAN: Be sure to join us next time for more
