The Classic of Mountains and Seas - Legend of the Scarlet Shadow

Episode 33

General, you have one thing that I've always wanted.

-What is it?-Your facial skin!

If you don't want to see him,

If you hate him, you can order me.

I'll kill him.

If you don't kill me, you'll regret it!

When we meet again, I will kill you without a second thought!

Have Baili Han go look for him!

Have him go look for Chi Yu, have him go look!

-Hurry up!-Fu'er! Until now, do you still now understand

what kind of person Baili Han is?

After summoning the Azure Dragon failed,

you have become useless. We are all chess pieces!

He won't expend energy on useless people.

That's impossible.

Baili Han is the Azure Dragon Horn Mansion.

His fate is to listen to me!

Fate?

He doesn't believe in fate.

He only believes in himself!

We failed this time because he was too confident.

But he won't take responsibility for this mess.

He will definitely blame all the failures onto you!

You have to stay farther away from him. I'm afraid he'll harm you.

-But Xin Yue Hu he, right now-!-I promise you.

I will definitely find Xin Yue Hu for you.

Trust me once.

Timing & Subtitles brought to you by the Dancing Fingers @ Viki

I just knew that you'd appear again.

You're not willing, right?

You feel like you can win over me.

Very well. I'll give you a chance.

Since the Azure Dragon can't be summoned right now,

and I can't fully get rid of you,

and you won't peacefully disappear,

then let's make a bet. Let's bet on

whether if she'll fall in love with me and forget you.

As for what we're betting with,

it'll be this body.

If I win, then you have to fully disappear from before me.

I don't want to see you again.

If you win,

I will return this body to you.

I wonder if Big Brother Shangguan and the others went to Bu Zhou Mountain.

We said before that we'd meet at Bu Zhou Mountain.

They will definitely wait for us there.

Everyone will definitely be safe and sound.

What are you thinking about?

I just feel like the Vermilion Bird Star Mansions are completely different from what I expected.

Then what did you imagine?

At least, there wasn't a kid like Shi Pei Pei.

There wouldn't be a domineering woman like Hong Ling either.

And there definitely wouldn't be an Ah Su who can't talk in front of girls.

-Then, what about him?-Who?

Chi Yu.

He...

He's very possessive and illogical.

Every time we meet, we start arguing after a few words are spoken.

He always puts on a cold expression.

But I know that he's not like that in his heart.

His heart is very warm.

He likes to help others too.

But he likes to hide himself away.

He likes to act like manly.

You and him can definitely become friends.

I'm saying...if he was still here.

I'm sorry, I shouldn't have asked so much.

I keep forgetting...that he's not here anymore.

He's not here,

but I'm still here.

Why haven't you left yet? What do you want?

There's nothing I want.

I just got lost in this forest.

And then happened to meet you two again. You must not get the wrong idea.

Su Shui, let's not bother with him. Let's go.

Embroidered cloth, buy some embroidered cloth!

Come look!

You came to buy embroidered cloth too?

Embroidered cloth, buy embroidered cloth!

Xiao Bing, look!

You look just like a monster!

Cut it out, hurry and go.

All the people here wear clothes made of silk!

Just like our hometown!

But only the noble class can wear it!

Du Guan Flat Plains is called the province of fish and rice.

The wealth can definitely be comparable to Jiu Li and Green Hills.

Enough, enough!

What's with you two? We didn't come to play.

Hurry and go look for news on Bu Zhou Mountain.

Then, let's separate.

And then if there's news, then...we'll come here!

How about it?

Fine! Ah Su,

you pair up with Hong Ling. I'll pair up with Pei Pei!

That's right! Hurry up and go!

Go on, go on!

Let's go!

Excuse me, have you heard about Bu Zhou Mountain?

I don't know.

-Meat buns, meat buns!-Roasted chicken!

Roasted chicken!

Owner, have you heard about a place called Bu Zhou Mountain?

I don't know. You'd best go ask somewhere else.

Buy buns, meat buns!

Roasted chicken!

I say, I can't believe you! You just keep following me.

Only I keep talking and asking!

Is it easy on me? It's hot and tiring on this journey,

I really-!

Is your injury better?

I saw it that day.

At Soup Valley, you took a blow to save me.

Is it better?

Here. Remember to put medicine on it. Don't be so silly next time.

I don't need you to protect me.

Out of all the people here, no one has heard of Bu Zhou Mountain!

Xiao Bing, could it be that Daoist Lu Ya made a mistake?

I don't know either.

Maybe when Hong Ling returns, there will be news.

Okay, you two brats! Are you being lazy?

Of course not!

How was it? Is there news?

I'm so hungry! Hurry and get something to eat!

I can only have energy to search when I'm full!

Waiter!

Customer, I'm coming!

-Waiter, bring us your best dishes.-Okay!

Waiter!

Have you heard about Bu Zhou Mountain?

Bu Zhou Mountain?

It's the one where, thousands of years ago,

When Gong Gong and Xuan Ding were fighting for the throne,

Miss, I'm only a little worker. How could I know about those things?

But Millionaire Granny will probably know what you're talking about.

You should go ask her.

-Millionaire Granny?-Millionaire Granny?

Customers, there's something you don't know. Du Guang Flat Plains is a flourishing town. It's a place where merchants gather.

When merchants leave their province, it's understandable that they'll feel lonesome.

They, of course, will look for fun things to do.

If you're talking about the place with the best news, it's obviously the gambling den.

This Millionaire Granny is the boss of the gambling den.

There's nothing she doesn't know about.

Really? Then let's go right now!

-Let's go!-Let's go!

-Customer!-Thanks!

Don't go! Are you still going to eat the food or not?

Gambling den

How festive!

Four, Five, Six, it's a big!

Come come come, place your bets!

Hurry up, place your bets!

Open!

Bet! Bet! Bet!

Big, big!

I won again!

Come. Come. Come. Continue betting. Continue betting.

Hey, do you know where Millionaire Granny is?

I don't know her, go away!

Do you know where Millionaire Granny is?

I don't know, I don't know! Go away!

I don't believe it!

Come come!

I want to find Millionaire Granny's location!

Whoever tells me can take this gold piece!

Come come, place your bets!

Are you pretending I don't exist?

Three 6's! Leopard! Kill all (the dealer gets all)!

Give me back my gold!

Little kid, you have to pay up on your lost bet.

-If you want to take the gold, bet another round.-You-!

Come! Bet! Bet!

Give me back my gold! I didn't want to gamble!

Pei Pei, Pei Pei! You can't be like that!

What's the rush? If you want to take the gold back,

won't it just come back if we gamble a round?

But...! But we don't know how to gamble!

Anyone knows how to buy big or small!

We didn't come to gamble, we came to look for someone!

I have a way to find Millionaire Granny.

There's also a way to win money. Doesn't it fulfill both things?

Ah Su, go!

Your grandpa isn't here!

This Ah Su says that if his grandpa knows he gambled,

he'll hit him with his shoe!

-I'll do it, I'll do it!-Move aside!

Ah Su. This doesn't count as gambling.

We're summoning the Vermilion Bird, right?

So your grandpa definitely won't hit you.

Hurry up, hurry up! Have you made your decisions?

-Have you placed your bets?-Open, open!

Wait a second!

It was the dealer who won our gold.

That's why, we'll only play with the dealer.

How can we allow that? We're still waiting to win back our losses.

That's right!

What right do you have not to allow us to win back our losses?

So what if you have money? We do too, right?

That's right!

So much money!

You little shrimp,

I'm afraid you've never seen this grand scene in the past years of your life.

Dealer, let's start.

We met a big customer today.

Then make your bet.

Don't be afraid. Just bet anywhere.

He's betting it all!

- Big.- He bet it all.

Are you sure?

Place your bets, I'm opening it!

Three three five?

I won!

Pay up, hurry up!

Four five five, big?

Good!

Pay up, pay up!

Pay up!

We won!

We won!

They won again!

This is too amazing!

So sorry, I won again!

Look how much they've won already. This dealer is losing disastrously.

Brothers...sister!

Young Master! I think today has been about enough.

How about we forget it?

How can we forget it?

How can we say forget it when there's a win?

That's right!

Even if you want to play, you shouldn't keep betting on big, right?

We're just lucky! Buying big or small is the same!

That's right! The same, the same! Come, let's continue! Buy small!

You-! You said it.

You said it!

It will definitely be big.

One two five?

I heard someone came to my place and is winning every game. I was thinking who they might be.

It was just a few children?

This is our gambling den's boss, Millionaire Granny!

It's them?

It's the four of them.

The four of them has connived and won most of our money already.

Your skills were inferior to them so you deserved to lose money.

Greetings.

The young really are amazing. It looks like you've won quite a lot.

A person needs to know to be satisfied and stop when something good happens.

I'll be daring. We actually didn't come for money.

We just heard that there's nothing you don't know, and came to ask you something.

Ask something?

You can. However,

I haven't met a good match in a long time.

Come! Have a match with me first!

Millionaire Granny, you must win!

You must just maintain composure. Do not show any fear and we'll be alright.

It looks like you're in charge.

Let's not make it complicated and keep it simple.

Big or small, one match will decide who wins.

Timing & Subtitles brought to you by the Dancing Fingers @ Viki

Everyone, don't be nervous.

If the heavens want us to find Bu Zhou Mountain, we will naturally win.

If the heavens won't give us the chance, that's okay too.

We will find another way to find Bu Zhou Mountain.

You want to go to Bu Zhou Mountain?

That's right, Granny.

It's just we don't know how to get there, so we came to ask you.

You first.

Ah Su doesn't dare to.

-If we lose--We haven't even begun to gambling, why are you talking about losing?

Why can't you want to win?

Besides, so what if we lose?

We can find another way to go to Bu Zhou Mountain.

I hate irresponsible men most.

They won again? This is too amazing!

I lost.

Come with me!

The die hasn't stopped yet!

Then who won? Who lose? Who?

They haven't even finished playing yet.

Hurry and go, hurry and go!

Thank you, Granny!

It was because my skills were inferior to yours.

Granny, then now can you tell us

where that Bu Zhou Mountain is?

Why do you all want to go to Bu Zhou Mountain?

-We are going to see a friend!-That's right.

Friend? What friend?

This...Granny,

if you know, then just tell us!

This friend...you don't know him anyway!

I don't like people who play tricks.

If you want to know where Bu Zu Mountain is, then be honest.

Granny, I won't keep it from you.

Actually, we are all star mansions of the Vermilion Bird.

I am the Chariot Mansion.

They are the Well, Willow, and Extended Net Mansion.

We got Daoist Lu Ya's guidance to find Bu Zhou Mountain.

Bu Zhou Mountain has to do with summoning the Vermilion Bird?

That's right, it does.

But we don't know what the connection is.

I'm afraid that we'll only know when we get to Bu Zhou Mountain.

In the corner of the great desert,

there are mountains but are not connected to each other called Bu Zhou.

Mt. Bu Zhou is at the bend of the the Duck River.

It's around 200 miles south west of here.

Thank you Granny!

Wait a second.

Bu Zhou Mountain is guarded by the Sky General.

I'm afraid it won't be that simple for just the few of you to get in.

We agreed to meet our friends there, so we must go!

I've never lost before.

Today, I lost convincingly.

I will give this to you.

Please.

-Thank you Granny!-Thank you Granny!

Big Sister Hong Ling,

are you happy because you know the location of Bu Zhou Mountain

or is it because of what you have in your hand?

What a nag!

Xiao Bing, is there news about Shangguan Jin and the others?

There isn't. In a bit, I'll send a few more spiders out.

Put Bu Zhou Mountain's location on the spiders.

We'll get some rest, and then set off together.

Sister Hong Ling, then where are we going now?

Naturally, we're going to hide!

Hiding!

Doctor, when can he be fully recovered?

His body is very healthy.

He's recovering a lot faster than usual people.

But one must rest for 100 days if the bone and tendons are injured.

He'd best not go anywhere in these three months.

He is a person of the martial arts.

Suddenly having such grave injuries causing him to unable to move freely.

It's understandable that he can't accept it.

The important thing is that he can't always be locked up in the house.

If you have the time, spend some time with him to get some sun.

This way, the wound will heal a lot faster too.

In a bit, I'll get some calming medicine for him.

Miss,

I can see that your eye circles are slightly green.

I will get some medicine to help you relax and refresh.

This is the last round of medicine.

After this, the General will be fully recovered.

Thank you, Physician.

Doctors must have the heart of parents, it is my job.

Goodbye.

General.

Is everything settled cleanly?

Yes.

General, the failure of awakening the Azure Blue Dragon

is my fault.

I'm sorry.

Please punish me.

As long as you know it's fine.

Then how do you think I should punish you?

Useless.

Seeing that you have always been extremely loyal to me,

I will forgive you for now.

Remember, if there is another mistake,

don't bother coming to see me.

I understand.

Get up.

Thank you General.

General, then what should we do now?

Should we continue to try and awaken the Azure Blue Dragon?

I, Baili Han will not give up so easily.

Remember, in this world all problems

don't always have just one solution.

General's meaning is...

there are other ways to awaken the Azure Blue Dragon?

General, there is something else you must know.

Speak. -The King of Dong Ling has an order,

he has sent out soldiers to come and kill you.

The King of Dong Ling?

This Suen Ju

seems like he has become addicted to being King.

General you mean

Suen Ju has taken over the place of the King?

If it were the real King, if I disobeyed him 10 times

he would not dare betray me.

So I think he is definitely fake.

And only Suen Ju has this ability.

Suen Ju has become the King

that's not good for us.

General, what about I go and kill him now?

No.

Now is not the time.

My injuries have not fully healed.

Just you and Yu Yang alone are not his match.

Shuang'er,

it's not that your abilities are weaker than his,

but it is your temper. It will cause you to lose to him.

When he has no confidence, Suen Ju will not do anything.

But once he has a good chance, he will definitely kill you.

But people like him will never be able to become bigger.

Because he likes his life,

he is scared of failure.

So as long as we don't do anything

he will not do anything.

I understand.

What about the others?

After the Heart Moon Fox left Soup Valley, no one has seen him.

Now, Green Hills is being supported by the Prime Minister and other officials.

The originally fluctuating undercurrent is now getting restless to cause trouble.

It's a small country, not worth our time.

As for the Mysterious Lady,

she is with Bing Yi.

The summoning has failed, this Mysterious Lady is useless now.

Even if she is still barely surviving,

she will definitely die.

As for Bing Yi, take it as I have fulfilled an old favour.

I've returned him a woman. Let's not care about them now.

How are things at the Vermilion Bird side?

Shangguan Jin and Su Mo

and that strange Wings Mansion

we are unable to find out about them.

But, I have already sent people to follow the Chariot Mansion and the rest.

The funny thing is they are not looking for Shangguan Jin.

But they are heading to the West.

Now they are at the flat plains of Du Guang.

Not caring about the survival of their companions

but are at the flat plains of Du Guang?

This doesn't seem like them.

Shuang'er

you and Yu Yang personally go and watch them.

Once you have news immediately report.

Yes.

Where is she?

Timing & Subtitles brought to you by the Dancing Fingers @ Viki

A wooden spider?

Bu Zhou Mountain.

Dong Ling

Greetings, Your Majesty.

All of you rise.

Thank you Your Majesty.

Grand General Hao Yu.

I'm here.

I ordered you to contact the different countries to arrest Bai Li Han.

How are things going?

I've already set up a inescapable net.

it will be hard for Baili Han to escape.

Good.

We were able to discover Baili Han's plan to usurp the throne

all thanks to Sun Ju.

Chief Minister.

Your Majesty.

You have raised your child well.

Thank you for your praise.

Now, where is Suen Ju?

My son is not that talented and only works under me as a Department Manager.

Just a small position as a department manager,

wouldn't that be using a great talent on small tasks?

Sun Ju is the water that saved the country's fire.

Defended us against possible disaster. He's the country's savior star.

Starting today, he is given the position Great Governor.

Thank you, King!

Today, Great Governor Sun received my orders

to personally do an important task.

Chief Minister, accept it for him.

Thank you, Your Majesty for your grace!

Also, I have something important to announce.

Chief Minister, I'll have to bother you.

Yes.

In the year of Guimao,

Dong Ling has suffered the drought disaster.

Good thing there's Kang Hui Shi who made it his task to protect the citizens.

He led his tribesmen to solve the water problem.

Building irrigation systems and weirs, now totaling twenty plus. His eldest son, Xiao Yang,

have both talent and virtue, modest and honest.

Today, he is being promoted to the position of Minister of War Office

and be in control of the palace gates. This is to commends Kang Hui's albe and virtuous character.

Greetings, Your Majesty!

Xiao Yang, your martial arts are great.

I'm giving you the seat of the Minister of War's office.

Starting today, you will carry on the tradition of Kang Hui Shi.

You have to put the people of Dong Ling first in everything. Do you understand?

Your Majesty, do not worry! I understand!

I have bothered you, King.

I am a crass person, yet Your Majesty still gave me the position of Minister of War.

I will definitely work hard!

Work hard? Good.

Xiao Yang, do you know who recommended you?

I do not know.

It is your savior.

The new Great Governor, Sun Ju.

Sir Sun?

Sir Sun really is my good friend!

It's good that you understand.

-Get up.-Yes.

I heard that you know many martial art skills.

I can't really do anything else, but I can fight!

You must listen to Great Governor Sun's orders from now on.

-Do you understand?-I understand!

Minister of War Yu, I'm ordering you, from today on,

put all your effort into pursuing the traitor Baili Han!

This is great!

I can finally compete with him without anything holding me back!

You're not only competing with him.

You must take his life!

Then if he admits loss, can I still fight him?

If he admits loss, then give him to Governor Sun.

That works too!

Then...

where is General Baili now?

He's not General Baili now!

He's the traitor Baili Han!

Yes!

The traitor Baili Han!

Great Governor Sun will tell you where he is.

-Yes sir!-You can go.

Yes!

Mysterious Lady, you came without being summoned. What do you need?

Baili Han. I've waited a long time for you!

Waited?

But I waited a long time too.

What did I get in the end?

I want you to help me look for Xin Yue Hu.

Why are you staring at me?

Look for him?

Why should I help you look for him?

Because-!

Because he is the Azure Dragon Heart Mansion.

And I,

I am the Azure Dragon Mysterious Lady.

I'm ordering you to go look for him!

The Azure Dragon Mysterious Lady and the Azure Dragon Heart Mansion.

That only holds when the Azure Dragon is being summoned.

Since it cannot be summoned now, he is only a regular person.

You.

Are a useless piece of trash.

What did you say?

Trash.

Don't forget.

I taught you your martial arts.

Baili Han! You promised me!

No matter what I wanted, you would do it for me!

You also promised me to help me summon the Azure Dragon!

But did you do it?

It's because of your loss

that I've fallen this far!

I haven't even come to blame you and you're blaming me?

Sometimes I really do envy the Vermilion Bird people.

At least they have a smart Mysterious Lady.

And I?

I can only guard a useless

piece of trash that knows nothing!

Baili Han, I'm going to kill you!

A woman like you,

I wouldn't even want to bother to kill you.

I don't know if you're naive or just stupid!

Even if I help you find Xin Yue Hu,

so what?

Without the identity of the Mysterious Lady,

you're just a stupid country girl.

How would he treat you?

Fu'er!

Where is the person I wanted you to find?

I haven't found him yet.

You didn't put your effort into looking!

I'll go look myself!

Fu'er! Fu'er!

Don't bother with me!

You're all liars!

I'm not the Azure Dragon Mysterious Lady now.

So none of you will listen to me now, you'll all dare to bully me now, right?

Go away.

Go away! All of you leave!

I don't need you to pity me here.

I want to go find Xin Yue Hu myself.

He says he likes me.

I...

-I'll go look myself.-Fu'er, Fu'er!

I really looked for you, trust me!

I'll take you with me. We'll look for Xin Yue Hu together, okay?

You can't trick me.

Or else I'll kill you!

I won't trick you.

I never will.

She said that she doesn't want to see you!

Is that so?

But you don't know.

The words that women say

are always the exact opposite of what they think in their heart.

You are always so violent.

Aren't you tired?

Don't worry.

I won't do anything to your Mysterious Lady.

I just got lost and want to leave with you.

Don't you feel like this forest is very strange?

We keep wandering around inside it.

Instead of guarding against me,

why not take good care of your Mysterious Lady?

As far as I know,

she's a woman who loves to attract trouble.

Su Shui!

Su Shui, hurry and look.

I've never seen these characters before.

What's wrong?

Do you understand?

Do you recognize these characters?

This is a very old language.

It recorded a very violent war.

This probably recorded a very violent fight.

This tribe suffered great loss

in their fight with a foreign tribe.

To sing praises for their heroes

and also to pay respect to their brave rivals,

So they engraved

their names here.

They fought until the last person.

Until they all died.

Su Shui!

Su Shui?

Su Shui!

Su Shui is missing.

Hurry and help me find him!

Su Shui!

Su Shui!

Do you want to die?

Don't kill him!

If I don't kill him, am I supposed to wait for them to kill us?

There must be a misunderstanding. Ask them first.

These peoples' martial arts are nothing special,

but if we continuing wasting time with them will not give us any benefits.

Just don't kill him first!

I won't kill him.

Beg me.

I'm begging you, don't kill him.

Xin Yue Hu, you-!

I didn't kill him.

But you didn't say I couldn't hurt him.

Who are you people?

Why are you trying to kill us?

Because you came into our Green Village's sacred grounds!

Green Village?

I'm sory, Granny.

We didn't know this is a sacred ground.

We came to look for our friend.

Look for a friend?

-Where did you two come from?-I'm from Peach Blossom Hollow.

Peach Blossom Hollow?
