The Classic of Mountains and Seas - Legend of the Scarlet Shadow

Episode 6

How can I have the power of fire?

Knowing how to control the techniques of water and fire

then you can light up the Fire within the Bathing Water.

Actually, High Priest has always treated our Shangguan family

as an eyesore. Do you think this matter

might have his planning behind it?

That's why I tell you to be careful in everything.

Father, I've already checked multiple times.

My Vermilion Bird mark has told me

that Miss Su Mo is definitely the Mysterious Lady of the Vermilion Bird.

She called out the Singing Snake. Even the Vermilion God was angered.

You still say she is the Mysterious Lady?

I have disappointed you.

Don't bother with that woman anymore.

The way you are now is all her fault.

You are still willing to believe her?

If our hearts are not as one,

how can we face obstacles in the future?

Father, you mean...?

Dong Ling has already found the Mysterious Lady of the Azure Dragon.

Now, they need to find the seven mansions of the Azure Dragon

and then summon the Azure Dragon.

If they really succeed,

I'm afraid that even without Dong Ling attacking Jiu Li,

the High Priest will use the matter of us failing to find the real Mysterious Lady as a reason

to get rid of us both.

Then I will immediately set out for North Sea Mud Carp Fish Island.

I will find Daoist Lu Ya. He will definitely think of something!

Good! The faster the better.

Then, Su Mo...

I hope you can keep the big picture in mind.

Are you still going to protect a demon girl?

Then what if she really is the Mysterious Lady?

Father, promise me that you'll protect her!

Okay. Before an answer is found,

no one will touch that girl.

Okay. I will set out right now.

Jin'er, don't put too much effort on her.

You're clear about the princess's affections for you.

Father, I only treat the princess as a master.

I don't have any feelings of love for her.

Do you like that Miss Su Mo, too?

Jin'er, this is the most dangerous time for our Shangguan family.

We cannot break off our Shangguan family's future for love!

When you were out, the princess once came here

to test me.

It seems like she will marry into our family very soon.

If you can marry the princess,

then our family will be fully safe!

I will remember your teaching.

Okay. You've been busy all day.

You still have to set out tomorrow.

Tonight, don't go to Miss Su Mo's rooms.

It will keep you away from trouble.

Yes.

Where are you going?

I was wondering who it was. So it was you?

Didn't you leave? What did you come back for?

I was worried about you.

Brother Chi Yu, aren't you especially great at martial arts?

Can you take me away from here?

Why don't you go ask your Brother Shangguan for help?

If you don't want to help me then forget it!

Who said that?

Let go!

Tell me. You want to go back to Peach Blossom Hollow?

I'll go back with you.

Why are you going?

I heard that Miss Fu'er has already returned to Peach Blossom Hollow.

I wasn't able to go to Dong Ling to save her.

I want to apologize to her face.

You still remember?

I thought you were a petty person who didn't keep his word.

Look at you! It was only a joke.

Your temper sucks.

You're not like Brother Shangguan at all.

I'm telling you, if you say anything else,

I'll leave you here for life.

What? There's no news on the whereabouts of the High Priest?

Yes.

You must not tell anyone about this matter.

That includes my father. Before things are sure,

I don't want to create any trouble.

Continue investigating the whereabouts of the High Priest!

Even if you dig three miles into the ground, you have to find him!

Yes!

A demon girl! Capture her!

Brother Shangguan, I'm not a demon girl! I'm not a demon girl!

I'm not a demon girl! Brother Shangguan!

General, Fu'er has already been sent back.

-It's just...-What is it?

What do we do now that she's gone home?

When someone falls into water and is about to suffocate,

they'll grab onto whatever they see.

Even if it's a blade of grass,

or something that isn't worth holding on to.

Once her home is destroyed,

when she is the most helpless,

I will appear in front of her.

What do you think will happen?

Do you understand?

I understand.

High Priest, why are you this unruly?

There was no wine to drink over there.

I couldn't live as free as you could, General.

Among all of us, only you

Room Mansion, has this ability.

The matter has been finished. Can I come back now?

If I stay any longer over there,

they'll find out my true identity soon.

It's not done yet. That girl isn't dead.

She ran away from Jiu Li alone.

Killing her is easy.

She didn't run off alone.

She still has a star mansion of the Vermilion Bird protecting her.

You have to go back to continue observing.

Shangguan Jin isn't an idiot. His people have already begun investigating me.

The charms you gave me have been burned.

But someone as smart as him...

I'm afraid.

I won't return to Jiu Li again.

If you are willing, then go there by yourself.

Sun Ju! You're becoming more rude!

You dare to talk to the general like that!

Miss Shuang'er, you are always so impulsive.

We are all star mansions of the Azure Dragon.

We are of the same status. Of course, I can talk like that.

-You-!-Shuang'er!

General Baili, keep a good eye on your dog. Don't let her bite me.

Getting me hurt is of no good to you.

You... are always unable to control your emotions.

If you keep being like this, how can you help me realize my grand plan?

This debt I'll remember first. Those who owe me will eventually need to pay.

But General, the Mysterious Lady of the Vermilion Bird...?

Don't make a move for now.

Let's wait.

Also, you must not hurt Chi Yu.

Miss Su Mo! Miss Su Mo?

[Goodbye]

If you rode on a horse, we would have arrived long ago.

I like to walk.

Are you afraid of riding?

You can think whatever you like. You can ride on ahead if you'd like.

Let's see who's gonna suffer.

What are you doing? Put me down! Put me down!

Who are you?

I grabbed this girl off the street.

Let her go.

Mr. Yu, you would grab a random girl off the street?

Ah Zhi,

the one you want is me. I'll stay behind with you.

Looks like this girl's relationship to you is indeed not ordinary.

I am going to kill her!

For her, you hurt me?

Don't force me. I won't be light-handed anymore.

Go!

You're so embarrassing.

I haven't eaten all day. I can't control it either.

Thank you.

Actually when you smile, it looks quite nice.

If you say anything else,

I'll immediately throw you again.

Can I say one last thing?

Speak.

Thank you for saving me this time.

And for saving me last time.

Also... the last, last time when you saved me with the antidote.

And the last, last, last time when you saved me in the village.

You saved me so many times!

Mr. Jin, when we discovered Miss Su Mo was gone,

we immediately sent people to look for her.

We've searched through all the inns and hotels,

but there was no sign of Miss Su Mo.

-How about the medical clinics?-No.

No doctors saw any girls with physical injuries.

Could it be that Chi Yu took her away?

You are not allowed to go.

Father!

Is there something

that is more important than finding the Mysterious Lady of the Vermilion Bird?

But Father,

I don't know where Miss Su Mo went off alone.

I know. Does a medicine girl

need a person like you who carries the family

and Jiu Li's responsibility to go find her?

Is she worth it?

I think you've been tricked by that girl.

What if she is?

What if Miss Su Mo really is the Mysterious Lady of the Vermilion Bird? Then what?

I will send people to go find her.

Right now, you have to set out immediately for North Sea Mud Carp Fish Island!

What? Do you want me to punish you?

Yes, Sir.

Prepare to set out for Peach Blossom Hollow.

But the grand general, he-

I only want to make sure that she got home safely.

-It won't take very longer. Hurry.-Yes.

Don't be afraid. It's Hong Tai.

Young Master, Miss Su.

Is there anyone out there watching us?

I didn't see anything on the road here.

How did your investigations go?

This High Priest seemed to vanish into thin air.

There is no sign of him anywhere.

What are you investigating?

If you are the Mysterious Lady.

It seems like you really want to be the Mysterious Lady of the Vermilion Bird.

It don't. I just-

You are just worried about Shangguan Jin?

He was punished for me.

Don't worry.

He's not that stupid.

Last night, I saw Ah Zhi.

Then did she...?

I hurt her.

She will still follow after us.

It won't be safe if you're with us.

After we reach Peach Blossom Hollow, we'll take our own paths.

But who is that Ah Zhi?

It has nothing to do with you.

Is she your friend?

Let's go!

Come up!

I'm telling you this time.

Brother Hong Tai, how did you find us?

Young Master and I can never be lost from each other.

Can't be lost?

No matter under what situation, we can find each other.

That's so amazing!

Actually, it can happen between you and Young Master, too.

Him and me? If he can find me,

nothing good can happen.

If you don't hold on tight, you might fall.

Impossible!

-Mother, I'm home!-Mo'er!

-Mother!-Mo'er, you're back?

Old man, Mo'er is back! Hurry and come out!

Mo'er!

-Mo'er, you're back!-Father!

Child, you didn't stay well at home

and only know how to run away!

See how I'll deal with you!

There are guests? Why didn't you say so earlier?

I'll deal with your running away later!

I got it, Old Father.

Don't stand there; hurry and go in. I'll prepare food.

-Hurry and go.-Yes, let's go in.

There is someone you're afraid of, too?

Wu Yang's matter,

I've heard from Fu'er already.

But everyone still hopes the child can come back.

Old Father, has Fu'er come back?

Where is she? Is she okay?

She's back; she's fine.

She went to buy stuff in the street.

Then I'll go find her!

Don't run!

I am to be blamed for not teaching her well.

I still don't know how I should address you.

You can call me Chi Yu.

Mr. Chi Yu, last time when Peach Blossom Hollow was in trouble,

it was all thanks to your help.

This time, you brought Mo'er back, too.

I am really very thankful.

It was nothing. You don't need to think much about it.

Actually, last time, it's because I was too strict.

Thankfully, nothing really bad happened.

Or else, I really would be so regretful.

Tribe leader,

there is something I don't know if I should ask or not.

Ask, ask!

It's Su Mo's background.

She told you?

That's right. Mo'er isn't a child of Peach Blossom Hollow.

She flowed down the river

and floated to our village.

We have always been looking for her birth parents.

But no matter how we look, there aren't even any clues!

Then if Su Mo isn't a lady of Peach Blossom Hollow,

could she be the Mysterious Lady?

The Vermilion Bird didn't recognize her, right?

If it did, she wouldn't be able to come back.

She would have stayed in Jiu Li.

Actually, many years ago,

I once read an old tribal book.

Tribal book?

Yes. It recorded that Mysterious Ladies have appeared in other tribes before.

It's just, any tribe that had a Mysterious Lady

would be wiped out in the end.

The greed of a person's heart to pursue power

will not change.

No matter if it's the past or now.

So, the supposed unfathomable glory of a Mysterious Lady

is just an unavoidable calamity.

If Peach Blossom Hollow didn't have the legend of the Mysterious Lady,

there wouldn't be so many calamities.

So, if Mo'er isn't the Mysterious Lady of the Vermilion Bird,

it would be a good thing for her.

You don't hope

for Su Mo to become the Mysterious Lady?

What about you?

People of this world only see the phoenix's fiery rebirth.

But they don't see

the pain of a phoenix's destruction in fire.

The Mysterious Lady commands the world.

She has an extremely high position.

She has the highest glory and power.

But the heavens are fair!

It can let you have everything,

and can also make you lose everything.

This is the price.

Fu'er!

Fu'er!

-Su Mo!-It's great that you're okay!

I was so worried; I wanted to go find you so much!

What do you mean you were worried about me, Mysterious Lady of the Vermilion Bird?

Just go alone to Jiu Li to be your mystical bird.

Just leave me alone in Dong Ling.

What are you saying? I'm not the Mysterious Lady of the Vermilion Bird!

You're not?

Why not?

If I'm not, then I'm not!

It's too great that you came back! I was worried about you every day!

Anyone can say that!

In the end? You still didn't come save me.

I really wanted to come save you!

But when I wanted to go,

Brother Shangguan already said that you've already come back safely. So-

So you still didn't come!

Fu'er!

You are just wrong this time!

Okay, okay! I was wrong!

Next time if you're in any danger,

I'll come save you without a single care!

Okay! I'll forgive you!

How did you come back?

General Baili sent me back.

He sent you?

Would he be that nice? I don't believe it.

You've all misunderstood him.

You didn't know. To save me,

General Baili offended the emperor of Dong Ling and even lost his position.

I don't believe it! It must be Baili Han's plan!

Don't think of him as so terrible!

Aren't I that Mysterious Lady of the Azure Dragon?

He's a guardian of the Azure Dragon. He wouldn't harm me.

Okay, I just don't like him.

You cannot tell the village people that I'm the Mysterious Lady of the Azure Dragon.

Why?

Just don't!

Okay.

How did you come back? Where is Brother Shangguan?

Because I'm not the Mysterious Lady of the Vermilion Bird,

Brother Shangguan was punished.

He doesn't even know that I came back.

Then you secretly came back alone?

With that Cold-Face Ghost.

Brother Chi Yu is here, too?

Then let's hurry and go!

Brother Chi Yu!

-Brother Chi Yu!-Miss Fu'er, you're back? That's great.

You came here because you were worried about me, right?

He said that he came to apologize to you.

Because he didn't keep his promise to go save you.

You are terrible at expressing yourself.

So, I said it for you.

I promised to go save you, but I didn't keep my word.

-I owe you.-It's fine!

Look, aren't I standing here just fine?

It's fine, Brother Chi Yu.

I heard that Baili Han sent you back?

Fu'er, you must be careful of this person.

Let's go.

Tribe leader, we will say goodbye here.

Okay.

Brother Chi Yu, where are you going to go?

What are you looking at me for? I'd rather you leave quickly.

Idiot.

You are the most stupid idiot in this world.

You are also the most despicable person in this world!

You won't see me anymore.

Do you think I want to see you?

Let's not meet ever again.

Su Mo!

General, it's all ready.

Are you going according to the original plan?

Go on.

You must be careful.

You cannot harm our precious Mysterious Lady.

Nine suns in clockwise motion.

Pacing back and forth at the origin.

Magnificent, sparkling, translucent, and bright

spiritual energy scatter!

What is that?

[Primal Chaos Beast]

Old Father, what is that?

Primal Chaos Beast. Even though he sides with evil people and contradicts the good people,

but he shouldn't attack villagers!

Someone must have aggravated him!

Tribe leader, hurry and leave first.

Go! Come and leave with me!

Hurry and run!

Hurry and run!

Run!

Hurry!

Su Mo, come here!

This was left by the Taoist of North Sea Mud Carp Fish Island.

Before we run out of choices, we cannot use it!

Wife! Do you still not understand what the Taoist meant?

Now is the time when we've run out of choices!

Wife, hurry and take Fu'er and Mo'er to leave! Leave!

No, Old Father! I want to be with you!

Father, I won't leave either!

You-! You all!

Fu'er, you good child. Listen to your mother.

-Mother!-Su Mo,

last time when I hit you, did you hate me?

I don't care what others say.

In my whole life, the days when I was with you,

were the happiest!

Hurry and go!

Old Father, no! Neither of us want to go! We want to be with you!

-Father! Father!-What is this?

Do my words not count anymore?

Hurry and go to North Sea Mud Carp Fish Island to find the Taoist!

Perhaps there is a way to save our Peach Blossom Hollow!

Or else, there really won't be anymore chances!

-Father!-Hurry and leave!

-Father!-Go! Hurry and go!

-Father!-Go!

-Hurry and go!-Father!

Hurry and go!

General!

It's fine.

You've already done very well.

Coming up,

let me be the one to show my strength.

Mr. Chi Yu!

Mr. Chi Yu.

Hurry and take Mo'er and Fu'er to leave here!

Mother, we won't leave!

Madam, what about you?

I belong to Peach Blossom Hollow. I want to stay here!

Mr. Chi Yu, please take good care of Mo'er and Fu'er!

Mother, I won't go!

I won't go either!

-Mother!-Mo'er,

I'm leaving Fu'er to you.

Take good care of your little sister.

Fu'er, you must listen to your sister!

Don't be afraid, okay?

-Mother, if you and Father aren't here, what am I to do alone?-Mother!

Mother, we won't leave!

-Mother!-Your father and I are always by your sides!

Don't be afraid. Don't be afraid, children.

-Hurry and go! Hurry and go!-Mother!

Mother, I won't go!

Hurry and go!

-Mother!-Hurry and go!

Mother! Mother!

-Mother!-Go!

Let's go!

-Hurry and go!-Mother!

Husband! Husband!

Husband, are you okay?

Wife... you... they...

They have already escaped.

Don't worry.

Good. Good.

I have made you suffer.

Husband, what are you saying?

Wife...

Fu'er!

Fu'er, what's wrong?

Fu'er, don't be too heartbroken.

Fu'er, don't scare me!

Fu'er!

Fu'er, what's wrong?

Don't scare me, Fu'er!

Fu'er!

Calamity Star!

It's all your fault! Give me back Peach Blossom Hollow!

Give me back my parents!

-Give me back Peach Blossom Hollow! Give me back my parents!-Fu'er, enough!

Enough.

Superior General, your life saving role seems to have appeared late.

Someone got there before you.

The Azure Dragon Mysterious Lady seems to like one of the Vermilion 7 stars.

It looks like we won't have a role.

The show has only begun.

How can you give up already?

Then...this was all within your expectations?

It was outside my expectations.

But the quality turned out better than I expected.

The process isn't important.

What I care about is the outcome.

Isn't that right, Sun Ju?

Yes. Yes.

The outcome is the most important.

Then...I'll wait for a good show to watch.

The lady's wounds aren't serious.

But she must get some rest.

Especially with her emotions, they cannot fluctuate too much.

Hong Tai, go with the doctor to get medicine.

Brother Chi Yu.

Can you not go yet?

Can you stay with me for a bit?

-Calamity Star!-Calamity Star!

Don't be like this; go away!

-Mother!-Stop yelling at him!

I'm begging you; don't yell at him anymore!

-Chi Yu, don't care.-Mother!

Don't be scared.

Mother is here.

Mother, I'm not a calamity star!

Get some rest.

Brother Chi Yu,

I don't have anything left now.

What should I do in the future?

You still have a good sister.

Do you know how much she cares about you?

Also,

do you know what it feels like

to be called a Calamity Star by the person you love?

I hope that you won't say that in the future.

Calamity star!

Give me back Peach Blossom Hollow!

Give me back my parents! Give them back to me!

Give me back Peach Blossom Hollow!

-Brother Hong Tai, come in.-Miss Su.

Brother Hong Tai, how is Fu'er?

Don't worry. The doctor said that it isn't serious.

What is it?

You're thinking about Peach Blossom Hollow again?

I just don't know

how my parents...

Brother Hong Tai, is there something you want to say?

Go ahead and say it.

Actually...what Miss Fu'er said-

I know!

She just said that because of a moment of rashness.

I didn't put it in my heart.

It's great that you can think like that.

Thank you, Brother Hong Tai.

No, no, no. I should be the one thanking you.

Thank me? Why?

I think I'll let Young Master tell you himself.

Hong Tai, let Miss Fu'er get some rest.

In a bit, send some food over to her.

Don't worry.

Let's go. It's time to eat.

I'm not hungry.

-Eat.-I'm not hungry.

If you don't want to eat yourself,

I don't mind feeding you.

Drink some water; don't force it down.

Don't cry anymore.

I'm not crying!

Why are you always so stubborn?

Chi Yu,

why are you always working against me?

Why do always like to tease me?

Are you happy if I cry?

I just don't like seeing someone fighting alone.

You are clearly a girl. Why do you need to be so strong?

If you cry, then you cry. What's so shameful about that?

Crying won't solve anything!

You still know that?

I've never seen a girl like you before.

Do you think I'm a Calamity Star, too?

Calamity Star! Get lost!

I'm not a Calamity Star! I'm not a Calamity Star!

Calamity Star! You are a Calamity Star!

Calamity Star!

I don't know.

I will definitely save Old Father and the others.

Don't drink so much!

What are you nagging for? Am I not allowed to drink?

Are you good at drinking?

Of course! I can drink twice the amount you can!

From now on,

I will spend every day happily!

Nothing can stop me!

Okay!

Then I'll drink with you.
