The Classic of Mountains and Seas - Legend of the Scarlet Shadow

Episode 28

Let's go! Let's leave here right now!

Leave? Why do we have to leave?

This is the moon and sun inside the dream.

If we can't leave this place before the sun sets,

we'll forever be inside the Dark Corner Valley!

Big Brother Shangguan!

If you want to fully have your body, there is only one way!

Speak!

Summon the Azure Dragon.

Xiao Bing, where did you go, why don't we ever see you?

Xiao Bing, we already treat you as a brother that goes through life and death together.

If there's something wrong, then tell us. We'll help you think of something.

It's...it's about Baili Han.

Baili Han? Did he come find us?

Where? Where?

No! He didn't come find us.

It's just I...

Xiao Bing, I know you're a wimp!

But this place is North Sea Mud Carp Fish Island, Daoist Lu Ya's territory!

Baili Han would never be brave enough to make trouble here!

It's just, we really have been crushed by that Baili Han!

He really is the worst jerk in this world, the worst villain!

The next time we meet him, I'll definitely-!

W-we'll beat him up together!

Xin Yue Hu!

Xin Yue Hu?

Why aren't you resting?

Resting all the time,

isn't that very boring?

These are the seven stars of the Big Dipper?

In the past, I didn't know there were these things to learn from the sky.

Which one do you like?

If it's just based on the name, I like the Alioth Star.

Because it's name means music.

It's a beautiful meaning.

I like the Alkaid Star.

Why?

It has a meaning of rising to the top.

You are already above everyone else.

So what if I'm the king?

But there are still a lot of things

that aren't within my control.

You don't need to understand.

Sometimes it's better for women to be a bit more stupid.

I suddenly want to summon the Azure Dragon now.

In the past, I thought I had won, that I had no more enemies.

But now I discovered

that I actually still have one enemy.

Fine. I will let you slowly disappear.

And before you disappear,

I will torture you well.

North Sea Mud Carp Fish Island

Just who am I?

Xiao Bing, save me!

If I didn't remember wrong, you should be twenty years old this year.

Xiao Bing!

Baili Han! Come out!

I want to challenge you!

Baili Han! Come out!

General, Xiao Yang he-

I heard him.

Baili Han! Come out!

I want to challenge you, Baili Han!

I've come out. What do you want?

Baili Han! I want to challenge you!

Why should I accept your challenge?

Because you're the strongest! So I want to challenge you!

How do you know I'm the strongest?

You don't need to know why I know!

In any case, they say you're the strongest within the Azure Dragon!

Take this!

Shuang'er, what are you doing?

General, I-!

We are all star mansions of the Azure Dragon.

If we hurt each other and harm our harmony, what then?

Xiao Yang, I won't fight with you.

I don't believe that!

He just won't fight with me!

What is it with him?

Is he looking down on me?

I already taught you not to go find him.

Even if you find him, he won't use his full ability to fight you.

You can't do anything right, but you can do everything wrong.

But I'm suffocating!

Since it's like that, please leave.

I can't do that! You must help me!

You won't even listen to me. How am I to help you?

We didn't even fight!

Good brother, help me one more time!

This time, I will definitely listen to you.

Forget it. I will help you one more time.

I can't refuse you if you call me "good brother".

But, but you really are suffocating,

Fighting him is not impossible.

We can fight? When?

Baili Han said that you can't touch Xin Yue Hu.

If you insist on provoking him,

I'm afraid Baili Han

can't avoid taking action.

I don't like the most beautiful women.

Because I've fallen for an idiot.

An idiot with a bad temper.

Who is it?

The idiot I like...

is you.

If it was because of me,

then it has to do with you too.

You...what are you doing?

Do you know why can the Extort Beast can often trick people?

Because within their words,

true words were within false ones.

Why are you telling me that?

Because you said

That you like me.

What's wrong with you?

If there's something wrong you can tell me.

You promised me you would live on well.

-Mo'er!-Mo'er!

Mo'er!

Why is he leaving again?

Come back!

Why is he like that? You won't have friends like that!

Su Mo, is your injury healed?

I'm fine now.

Until now, I don't understand!

Do you think that person is Chi Yu

or is it Xin Yue Hu?

Why do you need to understand all that? It's enough that her injury is healed.

It's enough if our injuries are healed.

That won't do! We must clarify this matter!

If it's Xin Yue Hu, then where did Chi Yu go?

If it's Chi Yu, then it's even worse!

W-why did he have to treat us like that?

Do you think he got poisoned?

Things happened too quickly.

I don't know who he is either.

Think about it some more, maybe you'll think of something!

Pei Pei! Enough!

Did I say something I shouldn't have?

It's something you really shouldn't have said!

He said...he is Xin Yue Hu.

Chi Yu...Chi Yu is already gone.

Then could it be that Xin Yue Hu-?

What are you doing? Let go!

I know you all care about me. I'm thinking over this question too.

Actually, I'm the same as all of you.

I really want to understand what's going on.

We can go as Daoist Lu Ya.

Perhaps he will give us some hints.

That's right! Have you seen Xiao Bing?

That's right. Xiao Bing's been weird these few days too.

He keeps saying he knows Baili Han.

He locks himself in his room to heal every day!

I don't know what he's doing!

I'll go take a look at him!

Get lost!

Get lost!

You coward!

You couldn't even protect the woman you love!

Why are you pretending to be pitiful in front of me?

I don't care what blood relationship you have!

I don't want to see you anymore, Chi Yu.

Get lost!

-Your Majesty!-What's wrong, Your Majesty?

Your Majesty!

Use cloth to cover all the walls!

You coward.

I will make you forever unable to see the sun.

I want to forever

lock you within the darkness!

Xin Yue Hu!

Xin Yue Hu, what's wrong?

I just heard really loud sounds. Are you okay?

Do you care a lot about me?

You just said that you wanted to be my woman.

I want to hear you say it again.

Chi Yu! I want to challenge you!

That bastard who doesn't know what's good for him dares to ruin my mood?

It's alright, Fu'er.

Let's continue.

Chi Yu! Come out!

I know you're inside!

Do you want to be a coward?

If you don't come out,

I'm coming in!

Chi Yu! Come out!

Chi Yu,

Aren't you the most amazing among the Vermilion Bird star mansions?

I want to compete with you today!

First of all, I'm not Chi Yu.

I'm telling you to remember!

My name is Xin Yue Hu.

Darling,

why should I accept his challenge?

You don't have a choice!

I'm really going to get angry.

Are you alright?

General Baili, keep a good grip on your people.

We are partners working together right now.

If I get hurt, it will be quite troublesome.

You don't need to worry. This is my mistake.

Your mistake will harm others.

Xiao Yang!

If you aren't as talented as him, don't embarrass yourself!

We are all star mansions of the Azure Dragon.

If someone gets hurt, then our harmony is harmed.

Xiao Yang, hurry and go.

Do you think that if you earn yourself a little merit,

you can plot behind my back?

Do you think I don't know

that you taught Xiao Yang to challenge Xin Yue Hu this time?

Do what you're supposed to do. A smart person knows where the limit is.

What I hate most is when a person doesn't know what is important,

when a person who doesn't know what his role is.

I...I...!

I got it.

Now, there is no one to bother us.

This is bad!

This is bad! Something terrible has happened!

Come quickly! This is bad, Xiao Bing is gone!

-What's going on?-There was only this on the table.

What is this?

This is dressed like Baili Han.

Where has Xiao Bing gone?

That wimp, he's such a wimp!

Look! When we need him most,

he disappears! He must have run away!

Xiao Bing isn't a wimp. When we were in the Green Hills State,

he took the sword for me, he saved my life!

Then where do you think he's gone?

Let's go and ask Daoist Lu Ya first.

Xiao Bing must have his reasons for leaving.

We can't summon the Vermilion Bird right now anyway.

The Green Dragon people are also like tigers watching their prey.

Each of our lives are in danger.

Xiao Bing leaving now,

might actually be good for him.

You've come?

We've come to greet you, Daoist Lu Ya.

Greet me? Good.

Daoist, actually we have a lot of questions we don't understand.

-So, we wanted to ask you.-Go ahead.

Daoist, Chi Yu says he is Xin Yue Hu. What's going on?

One is all and one is all;

but if things are so, why not think of the whole?

Daoist means

Chi Yu and Xin Yue Hu are the same person?

If there is the heavens, there is the earth. If there is water, there is fire.

If there is left, there is right. Only if there is high, is there a low.

All lives are similar; but nothing is exactly correct.

Daoist, please explain.

How long have you been up the mountain?

It's been half a month.

If you're rested, then go down the mountain.

You have to face what you need to.

It's useless to keep running away.

Teacher has gone immortal roaming. Please go.

Immortal child, we have bothered you for a long time.

I will leave those sort of words for you mortals.

Teacher has already opened the enchantment below the mountain. I won't see you off.

I wish you a safe journey.

That's right. It'd be best for us not to see you again.

-Goodbye.-Goodbye.

Immortal child!

Hurry and open it to look!

That's right! What are you standing there for? You won't die if you look.

What is all this?

What are the drawings in here? I don't understand.

No matter what, we should thank the Daoist.

Look! This-!

Thank you Daoist, for your hint!

Big Brother Shangguan, what should we do now?

What else can we do? We're not all together now, so we can't do anything.

We definitely can't summon the Vermilion Bird.

How uneducated, you only want to go back to be a bandit!

How uneducated!

What, you want to give up just like this?

I don't care, Shangguan Jin!

I will definitely follow you! Who told you to be the richest?

I think we should go back to Jiu Li to rest first.

We'll talk about the rest slowly.

Big Brother Shangguan, haven't you already-

After the war finished, the king actually already forgave me.

So let's go back to Jiu Li and then talk.

Alright?

Look at you! Really!

Reporting to Teacher,

I have already given the scroll to the Vermillion Bird people.

What scroll? How come I know nothing about it?

It is I...who accidentally lost the scroll.

Losing the scroll and revealing fates is a huge misdeed.

You can't eat dinner tomorrow!

I understand.

The fight between the Vermillion Bird and the Green Dragon cannot be biased and cannot be revealed.

It really is you!

You've gotten older.

And you have gotten braver too.

You really know me?

Tell me! Who am I?

Is it that important to know who you are?

I only want to know what my name is!

Where is my home? Where am I from?

My parents, my siblings, where did they go?

Do you really want to know?

But sometimes,

forgetting may not be a bad thing.

I really envy you.

There are some things in the past that are very horrible.

That sort of pain,

can seep into a person's bones.

Even if it's like this,

you still want to know who you are?

You called me Xiao Bing.

Then tell me. What is my full name?

Baili Bing!

Bai...Bai...Baili Bing?

That's right. Your name is Baili Bing, I am Baili Han, so what?

Have you even forgotten me, your older brother?

Look at you, running around on such a hot day!

You're covered in dirty sweat!

Here, have some loquats. I traded for them on the street today.

-Take it.-I don't want it!

It's quite delicious. Come, I'll peel one for you.

You're lying! You haven't even had one, how do you know it tastes good?

It's most refreshing to eat loquats during the summer.

Mother, you're playing favorites!

Big brother likes eating loquats, and you traded for loquats! I want to eat cherries!

I'll trade for cherries next time for you, okay?

No no no! I want to eat cherries right now!

I can't deal with this child.

I want to eat cherries right now!

Stop crying, okay? I'll go trade for cherries for you right now.

Okay okay, I'll go trade them for you right now, okay?

I want to eat cherries!

Help!

Let go of me!

Mother!

Big brother!

Big brother!

No! None of this is real!

They didn't die! They didn't die!

No! They didn't die!

None of this is real. This isn't real!

They killed my parents!

Big brother! You can't die!

Big brother! You can't die, let's go home together!

-Save me!-Big brother, you can't die!

Big brother!

Big brother, I can't pick you up!

-Big brother, what do we do?-Take me away!

-Take me away!-Big brother!

-Big brother! Can you move yourself?-Take me away!

-Save me! Take me away!-Look, someone is coming! I'm sorry, big brother!

-Someone is coming, I'm sorry!-Take me away!

-I'm sorry, big brother!-Take me away!

-Don't run!-Take me away!

Stop there!

Save me! Save me!

Save me!

I remember now.

I remember everything.

And then later what happened?

Later,

later, I escaped.

Yes.

You escaped.

You escaped alone!

I remember it was very hot that day.

Sweat, blood,

and then the soil on the ground, the smell of them mixed together.

I will never forget in my entire life.

I'm sorry!

I'm sorry!

I'm sorry, it was my fault!

It wasn't your fault, Xiao Bing.

If we are to blame, we'll blame that we were too weak and small.

Big brother, would you forgive me?

Xiao Bing,

I often tell people this story.

But the story's ending is different.

In the ending I talk about, the big brother has already died.

On that night,

Xiao Bing's big brother already died.

The one standing here,

this man, is the one who crawled out from hell!

His heart, his spirit, died long ago!

-Come!-Yes1

-Capture him!-Yes!

Shangguan Jin and the Mysterious Lady of the Vermilion Bird

greet Your Majesty!

I left the front lines of my own accord, it is a crime that cannot be spared!

Please punish me, Your Majesty!

Shangguan Jin. Do you know what your crime is?

I know I committed a crime!

Do you know that the punishment for leaving the front lines is death?

It is not only death, but nine generations of your family will be killed, and drawn and quartered!

I want all the soldiers of Jiu Li to know

what happens to a defector!

Your Majesty, I did not teach my son well. I have committed a crime!

I have committed a crime! But I beg you, your Majesty!

The Mysterious Lady is the hope of the people of Jiu Li.

I hope that you will not put fault on the Mysterious Lady!

You can't even protect yourself, yet you ask for others to be spared?

Big Brother Shangguan.

You are the Mysterious Lady of the Vermilion Bird?

I am!

Then when can you summon the Vermilion Bird?

-This...-Your Majesty!

On the way to summoning the Vermilion Bird,

we met with a little obstacle.

But I can guarantee!

When the time comes, I will use the seven people's power to summon the Vermilion Bird beast god!

Shangguan Jin, do you know that summoning the Vermilion Bird

is extremely important to the entire Jiu Li, nothing can go wrong!

I understand!

You did commit a crime worthy of death,

but all that you did was for Jiu Li.

If you and the Mysterious Lady didn't face danger,

Jiu Li and Green Hill's war wouldn't end so quickly.

Also, with no casualties.

Then, your achievements balance out your faults.

-Thank you, Your Majesty.-Thank you, King!

Get up.

Mysterious Lady.

The war may have ended,

but the borders are still unstable.

The Dong Ling people have coveted Jiu Li for a long time. I still cannot be reassured.

I hope that you can hold Jiu Li's people as important.

And summon the Vermilion Bird soon.

I wonder how Shangguan Jin and Su Mo are doing.

Why are you worried?

As long as Shangguan Jin ended the war,

he will definitely be rewarded heavily!

But we lost Chi Yu, and can't summon the Vermilion Bird.

Jiu Li's leader will definitely be unhappy.

Perhaps, he might lock them up in prison in his anger.

No way!

We were just in jail in Green hills, it was so hard to escape back to Jiu Li!

This..this! We have to be put in prison again?

What kind of life is this?

It's fine.

They're already on their way back.

Are you trying to scare me to death, Brother Su Shui?

Say something before you come out next time!

How could you just-?

Brother Su Shui? Brother Su Shui?

Stop calling, he left long ago.

He must have heard it in the palace while secretly protecting Su Mo.

This big brother is too amazing!

Until now I don't know if he's human or a ghost!

Sometimes, I feel like he's very far away from us.

But in a second, he appears next to us!

Everyone has secrets they don't want others to know.

But no matter what that secret is,

I trust Su Shui. He definitely won't harm us.

I know!

But this big brother always scares people!

That's right! You just said that everyone has their own secrets.

Then do you have one? I really don't.

Do you have a secret you didn't tell me? Do you still have a secret you haven't told me?

-Tell me! You can't talk with women.-I don't!

You can tell me!

Stop it, there's nothing to say!

The makeup must be the best!

That's right!

You have to buy the whiter type of lotion.

I've gotten tan on the way here!

Also! What kind of clothes do Jiu Li women like to wear?

-Bring me two sets of the most beautiful clothes!-Yes!

-Hello Big Sister Hong Ling.-Good.

Why is your mouth so sweet today?

Big Sister, you still have the mood to dress up?

Why shouldn't I?

We've already fallen to such a state.

We should think most about how to save our lives.

How can you still be thinking of how to be pretty?

Right, this is the difference between a man and a woman's thinking!

Besides, you are still a little kid.

As a woman, we have to always pay attention to our appearance.

Even if we die, we have to die prettily!

There's no woman that's not pretty in this world!

There's only lazy women who don't dress up. Besides,

pretty women will live better and longer than others.

Have you never heard about that?

A pretty woman

will have more chances than others.

This is the house of Jiu Li's General!

Lots of high ranking people come in and out of here!

Perhaps at any time,

I could have a romantic affair.

If I dress up prettier, won't it make it easier for me to find someone to support me?

If I have to find someone to support me, I have to find someone with money.

How can I pass the days without money?

However, I might

go and hide away with him.

I won't care about the Vermilion Bird and Azure Dragon then.

I will go with him to his hometown to buy a big house.

And live there peacefully for my life.

It's quite good like that.

Miss Hong Ling, the things you wanted have been prepared.

You two go play. I'm going to go get pretty.

What are you doing?

You're asking me? I'm asking you!

Why are you watching her back as she walks away? What are you doing?

I didn't!

What do you mean, you didn't?

Tell me! Do you like Hong Ling?

Don't talk nonsense!

If you say that, then you don't like her.

This is great! If this goes on,

Big Sister Hong Ling is mine!

Look, she doesn't have to find someone from a royal family!

I am her best choice!

Look! As for money,

I have way too much of it!

As for protecting her with martial arts,

my Sixty-Four Hexagram Formation is enough.

And a big house!

I have a really big Colored Glass City!

An entire city of colored glass and gemstones!

I'll give them all to her then!

You won't do. You're still a child.

You're a child! Your entire house is full of children!

Besides,

Big Sister Hong Ling didn't say a child couldn't marry her.

Even if I can't marry her, there's still my dad!

Your dad won't do! You have a lot of stepmothers!

Have you forgotten?

Big Sister Hong Ling said herself,

that she can deal with any number of stepmothers!

If we put it that way,

perhaps she'll give me a little brother!

It's decided! I'll go tell her!

Come back!

Your dad won't do, and neither will you!

You don't like her anyway!

-What's it to you who she marries?-I-!

I like Hong Ling.

What, what did you say? Say it again!

You can't even say it to a man, right?

Then this is terrible!

I like Hong Ling.

Then why didn't you tell me earlier?

You're not loyal enough, if you like her, then you like her!

You're not treating me as a brother.

How am I not treating you as a brother?

Then you could have just told me earlier.

I don't know how to say it.

You don't know how to?

This bad habit is quite a pain.

But that's fine! I can help you right?

You don't need you to help me.

I will go fight for my own matters.

Go fight for your own matters?

You can't even say anything, how are you going to fight for it?

You're still young.

If a man wants to treat a woman well,

he doesn't have to base it on words alone.

Then what is it based on?

Doing!

Doing?
