The Classic of Mountains and Seas - Legend of the Scarlet Shadow

Episode 27

You want to escape from Chi Yu's tangling--only I can help you.

Then what are the terms? -Kill the Vermillion Bird.

Actually I should've killed you a long time ago.

I live to kill people.

I...mean disaster.

Chi Yu! Have you gone crazy?

She cannot wake up now

because she doesn't want to wake up.

People who are stuck in a dream state cannot be woken up by anyone.

Go into her dreams and see.

I agreed to summoning the Azure Dragon,

but you want to summon the Azure Dragon now,

isn't General Baili too hasty?

Indeed I am a bit hasty.

However, the Purple Star is about to enter the Azure Dragon constellation.

These few days, we must prepare well.

Enough, enough, enough!

I promise you.

But I haven't gotten the prey I wanted to hunt today.

My mood isn't good.

Regarding summoning the Azure Dragon,

let's talk some other day.

Okay, I can wait more.

When the king is in a good mood, we can discuss together.

What's wrong? Are you okay?

Have you remembered something?

I only feel flustered.

Maybe I'm hungry.

When I'm hungry, I get flustered.

I'll go see if there's anything to eat inside.

If you are willing, you should stay.

Old Dad and Old Mom aren't home, and it's lonely to eat by myself.

Okay, then let me help you.

You?

How can a rich young master like you make such good food?

I think what you make looks quite tasty too.

-I know!-You know?

The bread I make doesn't look that great, but it really is tasty.

Then try mine.

It's so tasty!

The girl in front of me without any worries,

should be the Su Mo that I first met.

If not for me, who only cared about my own grand goals,

and took her out of Peach Blossom Hollow,

she wouldn't have to suffer so much today.

Nor would she have to hide into her own dreams.

Mo'er.

I'm sorry.

If you can only be happy within your dreams,

should I not wake you up?

Look! There's so many stars!

You like watching stars?

What I want to see isn't the stars!

Let's go! I'll take you to go see the most beautiful scenery in this world!

Mo'er!

I'm summoning the Gentle Skate!

Look! I succeeded!

The Gentle Skate loves the smell of reed.

I use reeds as incense,

and look, they've all come over here!

Come over here!

Mo'er.

I am willing to use everything to exchange for your smile.

I hope to see your carefree smile every day.

The Gentle Skates' appearance means the world will have lots of rain.

Peach Blossom Hollow will definitely have a good crop.

Xiao Bing! You're finally awake!

Ah Su...

Hong Ling.

Thank the heavens! You're finally awake!

Where is this place?

North Sea Mud Carp Fish Island?

Just now, it was thanks to those immortal children who saved you.

Look, you stinky brat! Xiao Bing is awake!

What were you mindlessly babbling about just now?

You deserved this punishment from them!

Don't pretend to be pitiful. We don't know how to get rid of their magic anyway.

Go ahead and try to get the leaf off!

You pity him?

I regret bringing him up here!

Forget it, forget it!

Compared to the Azure Dragon people, these people are a bit stupid,

but they still know how to say thanks.

They're not like that leader of the Azure Dragon people. He only smiles with his skin, not with his flesh!

I can tell you're creating a disturbance just by looking.

You two!

What is all this useless chatter? Just respect your teacher and practice well.

Immortal children...Big brothers!

How are our friends?

They...are with Teacher.

Then can you bring us there?

We are really worried about them.

Did Teacher say we can bring them there?

Teacher didn't say we could.

Then did Teacher say you couldn't bring us there?

Teacher just didn't say we should bring you all there!

But I don't think Teacher said we couldn't bring them there.

In any case, Teacher didn't say we should bring them there.

But if we don't bring them there, then who will?

-Do we bring them there or not?-Stop stop stop!

Teacher didn't say we couldn't go.

He also didn't say you couldn't bring us there.

Then we can go, right?

-That makes sense.-That makes sense.

Then let's hurry and go!

Come with me!

Immortal child, look at him...

If you talk a lot, I'll seal your mouth too!

Thank you fat brother!

Big Brother Shangguan!

What is going on?

Su Mo! Shangguan Jin!

Be quiet! They're dreaming right now!

Dreaming?

If they cannot wake up from their dreams before the sun sets,

they'll forever be lost.

That's impossible!

There's no injury on their bodies.

How could they not wake up?

Did you put a spell on them?

There may not be an injury in the body, but there is in the heart.

Internal injury?

It really is prettier than what I made!

It really is prettier than what I made!

Things like this,

if it could always be like this, it would be great.

What did you add?

There's nothing special.

I just added some peach blossoms.

Peach blossoms?

No wonder there's the smell of peach blossoms!

Here is called Peach Blossom Hollow. From now on, you can have all the peach blossoms you want!

Big Brother Shangguan,

did you find the person you were looking for?

I did.

Then do you have to leave?

If you leave, I won't be able to eat such delicious ice jelly nectar anymore,

right?

Where is the person you have to find?

I haven't decided yet.

Leaving...

if I leave, where should I go?

But I feel like, things are pretty good now.

Like this,

it's very good.

Then why did you come to Peach Blossom Hollow?

I...

It couldn't have been to make ice jelly nectar for me!

No!

I don't think it is.

Don't think so?

That's right.

Why did...I come here?

If you can't remember, then don't.

Don't you feel like it's quite nice like this?

Yes.

Big Brother Shangguan!

What beautiful paper puppets!

Do you like them?

I've seen others play them on the streets before.

The fish in the water are bright and sparkling,

like fireflies dancing, flying up in mid-air.

Dropping, dropping into the impasse of the human world.

It is evident that the Gentle Skates are the most beautiful fish in the water.

Why is there no one here with me to enjoy this beautiful scene?

The sky is high and the clouds are far; where do I belong?

The Gentle Skates are beautiful because they are not lonely.

They come and go in groups, take care of each other, and add to the others' beauty.

Why do you say no one appreciates them?

I am spellbound by this scene that looks like it belongs in a dream.

In March, the peach blossoms snow down.

Would you like to go to the mountain with me and see?

Catch a bag of butterflies, and drink with me.

The butterflies are all over the mountain; let them be free

and perform a grand dance for us.

In August, the Osmanthus flowers' fragrance flows.

Would you like to pick them for me, so we can admire the moon together?

We can enjoy some simple sweetness.

From now on, you will no longer watch the moon alone.

You have me, so even water will be sweet.

Is there something on my face?

Then...why do you keep looking at me?

I like looking at your happy expression.

In the spring, we can watch the peach blossoms fly.

In the fall, we can pick Osmanthus flowers and make moon cake.

Do these count?

Where is Xin Yue Hu? Has he not come yet?

He won't come.

I'll go look for him.

I didn't think that this Xin Yue Hu would have such an attractive power.

He hasn't arrived for a few days, and he's already taken our Mysterious Lady's spirit away.

But, honestly,

he doesn't eve know how to be thankful.

But there's nothing that can be done.

It can't be helped that he is Green Hills' king.

The king will always reign on high.

Who would he listen to, right?

That's right. There are some people with high ranking bloodlines that are different from the rest.

However, even if someone is of the royal family or from the Chief Minister's household,

In the end, he still has to listen to a commoner's instructions.

Isn't that right, Lord Sun?

General, you are right.

I may be from the Chief Minister's family,

but I cannot compare to the General's talent.

So, I am wholeheartedly willing to do anything the General says.

What I said just now didn't have any other meaning.

I'm just afraid your efforts will go to waste.

He just isn't used to his role yet.

One day, when he understands everything fully,

he will know what he should do.

King, have a drink!

How is it?

-King, I'll massage you!-Chi Yu!

Xin Yue Hu.

Do you miss me?

-Go on.-Yes.

Why didn't you go practice?

Practicing is too tiring.

Those things don't suit me.

What is it?

You want to summon the Azure Dragon?

Do you not want to?

Why should I want to summon the Azure Dragon?

What benefit is there to me?

I am already the king of Green Hills.

Although Green Hills is not the best, it's good that it can sustain itself.

I'm not Baili, I'm not that ambitious.

Then...is there nothing you want or want to do?

What I want I already have.

I'm not interested in other things.

If you don't want it, then I don't either.

In the past I wanted to summon the Azure Dragon

because I wanted to be with you.

Now all my wishes have come true.

When I think about it in detail,

summoning the Azure Dragon has nothing to do with me.

Life was originally very short.

It's enough if you can do as you wish.

Pour the wine!

What is it?

I don't know. I feel like we've known each other for a long time.

Is that so?

I feel like before you came here,

we already knew each other very well.

Shangguan Jin...Shangguan Jin!

This name...I feel like it was in my head a long time ago.

You think so too, right?

But how did we meet?

We should have first met inside the diner.

Perhaps we met in our past life!

No matter what, it's great to have met you.

What's wrong?

But I feel like there's something important for me to do...

But I can't think of it, no matter what.

Are you thinking of a girl?

Why am I here? Why did I come here?

Since the ancient times, the days and nights have existed the same way.

When the moon is past the peak, the blazing sun is in the middle of the sky.

When the moon is sinking into the west, it is past the prime time and entering dusk.

Shangguan Jin, if you can't differentiate between what is real and what is the dream,

you will also be,

trapped by the dream's facade, and cannot wake up.

Mo'er!

The person who watched peach blossoms and picked Osmanthus flowers to make moon cakes with you

wasn't me!

What are you saying?

Mo'er, to be able to accompany you for these few days,

I'm already very satisfied!

Let's leave these beautiful scenes within the dreams!

Mo'er, leave with me right now!

Let's go! Let's leave here right now!

Leave? Why should we leave?

Look! This is the moon and sun within the dreams!

It's just like the sun in the real world!

When the sun and moon of the dream enter the horizon,

that is when the real world's sun is setting!

Look, the sun is already setting in the west!

If we can't leave here before the sun sets,

then we will forever be stuck in a lightless world!

I don't understand what you're saying!

Mo'er! This place isn't Peach Blossom Hollow.

This is only your dreams! Hurry and wake up!

This place is Peach Blossom Hollow! How could it be my dreams?

-I have to wait for my Old Dad and Old Mom to come back.-This place is your dreams!

It's the dream you weaved to run away from reality!

Don't you feel lonely staying here in this village alone?

Mo'er! We have to leave! We must immediately leave here!

This place is my home! How could it be a dream?

If this was all real, why haven't your parents ever appeared?

Why isn't there a single person inside this village?

My parents went out to work!

You fell asleep when they came back, so you didn't see them!

Then what about the people in the village?

I already told you! They went to the ceremony!

To the ceremony? Would they not return for so many days if they went to the ceremony?

Also! Your good sister!

Fu'er! Why haven't I ever seen her?

Fu'er?

Mo'er, wake up! Wake up!

Wake up! Wake up!

-You're lying!-Mo'er!

Mo'er! Mo'er! Mo'er!

Mo'er.

Mo'er, open this box.

I don't know what is inside.

But I know, it must be something very important to you.

Or else you wouldn't have locked it in here.

You locked it in your heart.

My heart hurts so much.

Even if it hurts more, you have to go face it.

I know this is very cruel. But if you don't open it,

then we will forever be stuck in this lightless world.

You still have a very beautiful life.

You can't destroy it all.

Don't worry. No matter what happens,

I will be with you.

Only when this is on you can I find you. Got it?

She is the woman that is worth my protection for life.

Su Mo, I like you.

Mo'er! Do you remember?

Why did you have to be so cruel to me?

Why did you have to make me see the things I didn't want to see?

I know. Your family is trapped, your friend and lover betrayed you.

To anyone, these are unbearably cruel things.

But you are the Mysterious Lady of the Vermilion Bird! This isn't your choice!

It's your fate!

Besides facing all of this bravely, you have no other choice!

Even if the reality is even more harsh,

it will lose to a brave person!

Raise your head! Then you can see hope!

Then you can go to the place you want to go!

But this road is too difficult!

I can't keep going!

Why did you have to be so cruel to me? Why did you have to be so cruel to me?

I hate you!

Mo'er! Open the door! Mo'er! Open the door!

The sun is setting! If we don't leave now,

we'll forever be inside this Dark Corner Valley!

Mo'er!

Leave. Instead of facing the pain of reality,

I'd rather stay here forever.

There will be no more lies, no more forsaking, no more betrayal!

But there are no friends or family here either!

Leave! Don't bother with me!

I can't! Do you still remember

what I said on North Sea Mud Carp Fish Island?

I said I wouldn't let you get hurt anymore.

I definitely won't go back on my word!

Okay! If you intend to stay here,

then I won't leave here.

If you want to live within this dark Corner Valley,

Then I will accompany you with no regrets!

Mo'er. Leave with me!

Look. You are such a happy person.

This Corner Valley in the west isn't where you belong!

Think of your father, your mother!

If you give up,

you parents will forever be stuck in the vines!

Mo'er! Where is your bravery? Where is you persistence?

Where did it all go?

Mo'er! Mo'er, where is your bravery and you persistence?

Mo'er, listen to me.

If you don't want to leave here,

you don't need to leave. I'll stay with you.

But there is only darkness here.

Then I will still stay with you.

Big Brother Shangguan, I know that no matter where,

you will stay with me.

But everyone is waiting for me.

I don't want to disappoint everyone.

Very well. Let's hurry and leave here. Come on!

Taoist, it's almost time for the sun to set.

Why aren't they awake yet?

If it really is like this,

Teacher, could it be that the Vermilion Bird Ghost Mansion

has sunk into oblivion with the Mysterious Lady?

Child, come over here.

Teacher, you had me bring them here.

We tried our best to heal them.

We cannot let them sink into oblivion like this.

Nosy! Do you still remember the Reversal of Space And Time Technique I taught you?

Thank you for your reminder, Teacher!

Right now, doesn't it seem like we're racing against the sun?

Let's go!

What does that mean?

Do you want to save your friends?

Of course we do! Isn't that nonsense you're saying?

But it's very possible that you will be dragged into the darkness.

Even if you don't die, you won't be able to live.

Who are you scaring? I came out from home,

precisely to face danger!

This exciting stuff--I have to do it!

You-!

We might not die. In whatever matter,

we have to think on the good side.

You don't even know if you can come back alive.

How can you protect me?

Right now, we're all in the same boat.

We have to be brothers who do not ask to be born on the same day of the same month of the same year.

But we can be good brothers that die on the same year, day, and month!

Bah! I'm not in the same boat as you.

I don't have brothers like you.

Brothers share good fortune together!

What kind of brothers are like you, who rush to die together?

I'm sorry, Big Brother Shangguan.

I caused you to enter the darkness with me.

To be able to meet you in this life,

I am already very satisfied.

Pei Pei? Pei Pei!

Look!

What are you standing there for? The Reversal of Space And Time Technique can't stand for longer than two hours1

Hurry and come over!

Su Mo! Hurry and run!

Do not show your spiritual power.

-Mo'er!-Big Brother Shangguan!

Mo'er!

Let's go!

-Why are you all here?-Go through!

-Then what about you all?-Cut it out! Hurry and go!

Let's go!

Shi Pei Pei, hurry and go.

Hurry and go!

Baili Bing, hurry and go!

You two go too!

-Then what about you, immortal child?-Don't bother with me! Go!

We'll wait for you over there!

Everything lives in harmony; eliminate all the faults;

refine the nine paths; return to the most genuine form!

I didn't disappoint you, right?

Pei Pei! Pei Pei, Pei Pei! Wake up!

-I, you-!-Are you okay?

You already came back! You scared me to death!

Where is that immortal child?

Don't tell me he didn't come back after sending us back!

Xiao Bing!

Xiao Bing, are you okay, Xiao Bing?

Hong Ling! Ah Su! Are you two awake?

You dumb brat, this is too great!

Are you okay?

I'm telling you! You still owe me a mountain of money!

This move is called, leave yourself a way out,

so you can bounce back in the future!

This is too great!

Thank you, just now.

I'm telling you. One day, you will open your mouth to talk to me.

This is great!

Su Shi, thank you! It's great that you're alright!

Where is the immortal child? He saved us just now.

Did he not come back? Don't tell me something happened to him.

What is it? What's going on?

Why hasn't the immortal child come back yet?

The immortal child is back! You're back1

-You're back!-Thank you for saving us!

-You finally came back!-It's great that you came back!

There's too many materialistic people, what can I do?

Impossible! This is impossible!

You can't be still alive!

This body is mine!

It's mine!

Green Hills

Baili Han!

I didn't know the King came, I should have gone to greet you.

You knew long ago.

I don't know what you're talking about.

You knew long ago that Chi Yu hadn't died yet.

He's always been inside my body!

This was all your plan, right?

I don't think I ever said

that he's already dead.

I only said that Bingyu's demonic sound could help you smother Chi Yu.

It could help you control the body.

But I never said

that Chi Yu doesn't exist anymore.

Isn't that right?

You're manipulating me, right?

Don't be rash. You'd best be more calm.

Even if he is inside your body, it's nothing strange.

It's just like in the past, when he used your body.

You were always his shadow, but you were just always asleep.

And now, you have the body.

He is your shadow.

I want him to disappear! I want him to disappear forever!

Having him disappear forever isn't a simple task.

Even the demonic sounds could not do it.

If you want to completely have your body,

there is only one way.

Speak.

Summon the Azure Dragon.

So this was all your plans.

To be able to succeed in your goal and summon the Azure Dragon.

Very well! I agree!

I will summon the Azure Dragon.

This isn't just my goal.

To you, only when you summon the Azure Dragon

can you fully get rid of Chi Yu.

And my power cannot control you, Xin Yue Hu.

You are the King of Green Hills.

So, we are just working together.

We need each other, right?

I also hope that working together with you

will be a pleasant matter.

Did you go see Su Mo? How is she doing?

I told you to go with me, but you wouldn't, and now you're asking me?

I can't even talk if I go.

Her injury is about healed, but her mood isn't that great.

Xiao Bing!

Xiao Bing, where did you go? How come I never see you?

I wanted to take a walk by myself.

Su Mo's mood hasn't been that great recently either.

That Shangguan Jin's mood hasn't been that great either because of her.

Why are you being strange too?

You didn't even come for dinner, and you always look out of it.

If there's anything, just say it! What's wrong?

It's nothing.

Xiao Bing. We already treat you as a brother that has been through life and death together.

If there is anything wrong, just say it. We'll help you think of something.

That's right! I have lots of great ideas!

It's...it's about Baili Han.
