[Lara] I could not have more supportive parents.

The only thing they have been strict on

we just have to, like, go at it full force.

That's the only thing that they constantly tell us,

Sorry to curse, but never half-ass anything.

But we're not gonna go as, like, crazy as usual.

Makeup is not something that I'm like,

It's just something I enjoy.

I like the way that I've, like, put my look together.

But we're about to have makeovers,

-Can you imagine it? -[Daniela] My gosh.

'Cause, like, there's a lot of girls with, like, dark curly hair.

That's why I like it blonde 'cause I feel like this kind of makes me look different

and it kind of reminds me of, like, Shakira, so...

[Humberto] I looked at young photos of Shakira.

[Daniela] Oh, wow.

"I think we need to talk through this."

[Daniela] Yeah, and it makes her look even more Hispanic.

It makes her look more like her.

-[Daniela] Yeah. -In a cool way.

Most of the girls are from these kind of multicultural backgrounds.

-You wear the bindi, and you wear a lot... -[Lara] Yeah, I love the bindi.

I think the nose ring, too, is a very traditional Indian thing.

Kalua pork, like the beach, Hawaiian food, like luaus...

-I think it's food. I think it's soups... -What's some traditional dishes?

Well, we have potatoes. We have potatoes for everything.

I'm very associated with, like, my Chinese side.

I have, like, a whole traditional Chinese dress.

[Humberto] We're having to imagine 20-some girls,

all from all around the world, feeling in sync.

Uniformity while celebrating all their individualness.

Anything we do with them,

the desire is to have them feel like they belong in the group.

I mean, the goal for the uniform is this idea of an academy.

Something that feels consistent?

Yeah. Our interpretation of how the girls can first be seen

and set this tone.

My mom has been a huge inspiration for me all my life.

This is my mom, the wonderful Wendy Leon.

Everyone knows her as "paupau," so people call her Paupau Wendy.

She's funny, she's super vibrant,

and she has incredible style,

and that informed me and my clothing.

I just like all the upcycled stuff, like this, that, and this.

It feels like the girls' personality.

[gentle music playing]

[Humberto] Uniforms are a staple in K-pop.

It creates this neutrality, so everybody is equal,

and really what you see is their skill set and their personality and their charm.

[Humberto] All right. We are good.

[João] Moving on.

[Humberto] What everyone will see first,

is we'll see the press conference.

So we'll meet the girls, They'll be in the uniforms.

And I think there's super fun ways to embrace the uniforms

within the merch world.

We're doing patches and things, which could be easy.

But, like, everything that the girls will be wearing

will be possible ways of buying into the girl group.

[John] We talked about the brand deals and all those pieces

that we'll be able to make something the girls wear that we'd wanna sell.

It is interesting to see how many brands are coming to the table

when a group hasn't even been formed yet.

[Humberto] The last thing we're gonna present

is basically the introductory video to the girls.

It's a fictional narrative that is based on the girls.

So it's the first piece of information that the world will see.

[John] I mean, this should be a marketer's dream.

There's already this runway. If we can't break this artist,

and also at the talent level and what we're putting into it,

we should all get different jobs.

[all laugh]

-[John] How you guys doing? -[girls] Good!

Good. You guys have worked so hard

and sacrificed so much to get to this point,

and now we're kind of getting to go time.

A year ago, we would have not thought we would be this close.

-Really? -[Adéla] Yeah.

How we know each other. It feels like a family now.

Like, we see each other's sides and each other's changes

and each other's struggles and happiness.

Like, we've been through so much,

and I feel like that's what brings us, like, all together,

apart from having the same dream.

You all are awesome as individuals,

and I'm super excited about how this is coming together as a group too.

-[Humberto] Now we get to the fun part. -[girls laugh]

So I really wanted to put together a dream team for you.
