Where's Xu Fengnian?

Senior,

please keep an eye on them.

Why are you still going out when badly wounded?

I have to go.

Uncle.

Where are your Buddha beads?

Not wearing it?

Are they all subordinates you have now?

May I have a word with you, Uncle?

Follow up.

Let me go with you, Your Highness.

Stay here.

I'll have a private talk with him.

Wang Mingyin died?

No.11 Swordsman is true to his name.

Luckily, I have Li Chungang

who could do Snakes in Sleeves.

He's still alive?

He's in my carriage.

Then why did you still come with me?

Why didn't I?

If you stayed around Li Chungang,

you might stay alive.

You don't want to kill me.

What should I worry about?

If I don't want to kill you,

why did I invite No.11 Swordsman?

If you wanted to kill me,

you could have used your army.

Why did you bother to invite a swordsman?

Then why do you think

I asked Wang Mingyin

to kill you?

You arranged the assassination in the reeds

to put up a show for someone.

Who do you mean?

Someone in the capital.

The royal family.

North Liang is hard to control.

There's also a huge army in Qingzhou.

They're both vassal towns.

If you didn't assassinate me,

you couldn't reassure the royal family.

So, you also know

Qingzhou and North Liang are bound to be enemies.

It's just the trend of times.

The problem could have been easily solved.

As long as you gave Wang Linquan to me,

you could have left Qingzhou.

But now,

there's no turning back for neither you nor me.

It's Xu Xiao's plan.

I don't like it.

So, I'll find a way out by myself.

Do you mean

flirting with my wife?

In Xiangfan

and even the entire Qingzhou,

everybody knows

that you love

your wife Pei Nanwei most.

Everyone in Qingzhou knows

Lord of Jing'an treats Consort Pei Nanwei

as a treasure.

Zhao Xun, son of Lord of Jing'an,

once was obsessed with Pei Nanwei.

Later,

Lord of Jing'an married her.

After they got married,

His Lordship loved her a lot.

Not only in Xiangfan,

but also throughout Qingzhou,

everyone knows

Lord of Jing'an loves his wife most.

But I...

I've been thinking about something.

What kind of man are you?

When lords were fighting for the throne,

you were the most scheming one.

Your own clique didn't show up

until the last minute.

You were just unlucky

so that you failed.

It was a long time ago.

What's the point of bringing it up?

Why would such a scheming man like you

let everybody in Qingzhou

know your Achilles' heel?

If you really loved Pei Nanwei,

you would only keep her in your mansion

and let no one know about her.

Don't you know who I am?

Back off!

Lord of Jing'an is quite generous.

He'll even let his wife die with us.

A man with an Achilles' heel

will reassure others.

However,

if we only focus on that,

we'll ignore the real danger.

Pei Nanwei is my Achilles' heel?

You make people think she's your Achilles' heel.

She's the scapegoat only.

We're talking about whether I'll kill you.

Aren't you getting off the subject?

The Achilles' heel you gave me

is the chance of my survival.

You know it very well.

This is the only good reason

for letting me leave Qingzhou.

Also,

it won't make the court suspect you.

See the nephew off.

When I saw your message,

I explained to Pei Nanwei

that there were two meanings

of the four words.

Two meanings?

The first one is easy to understand.

Off means down,

namely the hell.

He wants to kill me.

The first meaning

is for people in the world.

As I flirted with your wife,

you wanted to kill me.

What about the second meaning?

The second meaning...

You're giving me a present.

The present will accompany me

and see me off.

What's the present?

Pei Nanwei, of course.

I'm giving my wife to you?

This is the best reason

for not killing me.

I'm lecherous and absurd.

And I'm daring.

I not only flirted with your wife,

but also kidnapped her.

In the end,

I'll threaten you

with her life.

You don't have a choice,

but to let me leave Qingzhou.

What's better,

after you let me leave,

the court won't worry

that you may ally with us secretly.

After all, we're not going to make up

because I've taken away your wife.

If I

really wanted to let you go,

why did I arrange

the assassination in the reeds?

If you didn't,

the court wouldn't be relieved.

It's a fake assassination?

It's not.

If I died,

it would only mean

I wasn't qualified to be your ally.

Ally?

Under cover of the feud,

Qingzhou and North Liang

may help each other

in the future.

The premise is

that you become the Lord of North Liang.

Don't you want to try

fighting for the throne again?

Xu Xiao...

has a good son.

I saw what you did.

We both want to kill Xu Fengnian.

We can

join hands.

The gold is all mine.

Get lost.

Otherwise,

I'll kill you.

Go away.

All right then.

I'm going away.

Go.

Where's His Highness?

I got the Book of Blade

from Wudi City.

Now that you use blades,

it will be helpful.

What's in the wooden box?

Half of Mumaniu.

Li Chungang's sword?

Exactly.

It was broken by Wang Xianzhi.

But a broken sword

can still be of great use

in the hands of God of Sword.

You prepared it in advance.

Did you know Li Chungang would travel with me?

I knew he was around you

so that I asked No.11 swordsman to assassinate you without concern.

The assassination had to be real.

But I couldn't really kill you.

Otherwise, your crazy father

would certainly start a war against me.

I believe in Buddhism.

But I don't want to die for that.

Off you go.

One last question.

Did you spend a thousand taels of gold

hiring a girl to kill me?

I did.

Miss Hehe is an assassin you've trained?

You've asked too many questions.

The last piece of advice for you.

Don't take Pei Nanwei to Wudi City.

She's fishy.

I suspected

that she approached my son deliberately.

That's why

I married her first!

He left?

Yes.

And he left you to me.

Don't you want to ask

what I'm going to do with you?

I have one question.

Speak.

You had Wang Linquan sent away

and invited me to the reeds,

because you knew there would be an assassination?

I did know that.

You let the Wang Family live.

But you had Fengzi Battalion take the risk for you.

These soldiers

died for you.

Xu Fengnian,

you're quite hypocritical.

Shut up!

It's different.

What makes it different?

A hundred soldiers of Fengzi Battalion left North Liang with me.

We met Fujiang Armor in the rain.

Forty-five of them died.

In the boat fight on Chunshen Lake,

another two soldiers died.

After today's battle,

less than ten soldiers

are still alive.

Those who died in battles

are from North Liang

just like the Wang Family.

But they have different identities.

The Wang Family

are ordinary people.

Those in Fengzi Battalion

are soldiers!

A soldier's duty

is to protect ordinary people

like the Wang Family

with his blood and weapon!

I've kept in mind

those who died.

I feel sad.

But if I were given a second chance,

I would make the same choice!

Because I couldn't escape.

I wouldn't escape, either.

From first to last,

I've been fighting with them

shoulder by shoulder

and confronting the moment of death!

Your Highness, it's our honor

to fight shoulder by shoulder with you.

Your Highness.

Qingniao hasn't woken up yet?

She's in the other carriage. Someone's taking care of her.

Luckily, I completed the conversation.

If Lord of Jing'an realized I was badly wounded,

he might not let me leave safely.

You've made a good deal.

You planned

to kidnap Consort of Jing'an long ago.

If Lord of Jing'an didn't give me a chance,

he wouldn't ask Pei Nanwei

to bring a message to the weeds.

We just understood each other.

You and that old fox understood each other?

You're birds of a feather.

He's an old fox.

But I'm a young phoenix.

You're both beasts, anyway.

You're getting more sharp-tongued.

Speaking of beasts,

I think of something.

What is it?

Do you remember I saw a dead Hukui

on Mount Qingcheng?

I got lost in the woods

and saw someone rush past, riding on a giant beast.

I wonder what killed Hukui.

I saw that.

It rushed past me.

What did it look like?

It was so fast that I didn't see it clearly.

It was black and white,

carrying a girl on its back.

When I think of it now,

the girl was like that assassin when looked from behind.

Are you saying Miss Hehe killed Hukui?

Then she followed us as early as we were on Mount Qingcheng?

It doesn't make sense.

We didn't arrive in Qingzhou at that time.

Does she want to kill me

not simply for the gold from Lord of Jing'an?

She lied to you.

Did she want to kill me

even when she sold braised beef in Lingzhou?

It doesn't make sense, either.

She could have assassinated me many times these years.

Why bother waiting until now?

Come on.

What's your relationship

with Miss Hehe?

I met her several times when I did some beef shopping.

I didn't even know her name.

Because she kept smiling,

I named her Miss Hehe.

Also,

Lord Jing'an reminded me.

Pei Nanwei can't go with us.

Care about yourself, first.

Why?

Your eyes are bleeding.

Bleeding from all the seven openings of my head?

I've heard about it.

Unexpectedly,

I could experience it by myself.

If you keep experiencing it, you'll die.

Senior,

you mentioned the way to destroy my pubic region.

But is there an alternative?

Yes.

Please instruct me.

Digest the genuine spirit

and you can live with a new body.

A new body?

Mm.

Hidden in your body,

Dahuangting goes into your passages as time goes by.

It's a stable process, but it dissipates quickly, too.

If it goes on like this,

you'll digest 30% at most.

But that girl badly wounded you

and you've got a disorder in your body.

If you can take the chance

to digest Dahuangting forcibly,

you can absorb 50% at least

after you make it.

In this way,

you're kind of getting a new body.

You mean I can survive

and even get more power?

No, no, no.

When you digest it forcibly,

you'll be rising from the dead.

The breakthrough in passages will be like thousands of cuts.

How long can you bear the pain?

How long do I have to bear it?

I'm not sure.

In every moment of the process,

you'll feel like you're skinned.

Once you start it, you can't stop.

If you give up,

your passages will break and you're dead.

It's unbearable

for humans.

I want to give it a try.

You're the son of Lord of North Liang.

You're already influential.

Even if you can't do martial arts,

you don't need to take the risk!

Old Huang died when he challenged Wang Xianzhi.

One day,

I'll fight Wang Xianzhi for him.

Only for Jian Jiuhuang?

I don't know

who killed my mother.

In the future,

I'll avenge her by myself.

You've made up your mind?

Yes.

You made the choice yourself.

Don't blame me if you die.

I won't blame you.

I ask for that.

Don't you try to stop him?

If I were him, I would make the same choice.

All right, then.

Take off your clothes.

Sit comfortably.

Man, stay still.

I'm going to transmit the genuine spirit into your passages.

You have to bear it alone after that.

Thank you, senior.

Come on.

This is just the beginning.

Bear it.

Stop the carriage!

Senior.

You can't help him.

He has to bear

the cutting pain.

It's better than death, anyway.

If you die, you can do nothing.

Why isn't there a sound anymore?

He's been suffering for such a long time.

I guess he's too exhausted to yell

or move.

It's been a couple of hours.

How long must he bear it?

It depends on him.

What if he can't make it?

He'll die, then.

Ah?

Senior,

if His Highness dies,

guards like us

will be dead, too.

Please save his life.

I can't.

I don't think His Highness can bear it anymore.

He has been living a comfortable life.

How can he bear such torture?

In this case,

we'd better consider it for ourselves.

What's your point?

I worked for North Liang,

because I wanted a shelter

and I wanted to ask His Lordship

for White Emperor Esoterica of Simplicity.

However,

I never want to die.

You're leaving?

After His Highness dies,

who knows how His Lordship will punish us?

If I leave now,

I may survive.

A deserter will be beheaded.

I'm a guard,

not a soldier.

General Ning,

let her go.

Xu Fengnian can't make it.

I kindly advise you

to think about the consequence, too.

This is awkward.

If only you could leave a bit later!

Please punish me, Your Highness.

I thought you would run away.

Now that you're alive,

I'll get more benefits

if I stay.

You may rise.

Your Highness,

we can't keep a girl like her.

I'll give you White Emperor Esoterica of Simplicity.

I pledge my life to you, Your Highness.

That's not true.

We both know

that you don't want to die.

But it doesn't matter.

Not all my subordinates

have to die for me.

North Liang is big.

There's space for a mere girl.

You're as generous as Xu Xiao.

North Liang will prosper.

Is there a stream or pool nearby?

There's blood on my clothes.

It's the invulnerable Kylin Armor?

Invulnerable?

Miss Hehe cut it

with only one stroke.

She has strange martial arts.

Without the Armor,

you would have been dead.

Unfortunately, there isn't a second Kylin Armor.

You no longer need it, anyway.

What level is your Dahuangting now?

According to the rule of Wudang,

it's the fourth level.

How lucky you are!

Even Wang Chonglou has sixth-level Dahuangting only.

Are you saying

I have to be grateful to Miss Hehe?

Letting her kill you will be the best token of gratitude.

Senior.

Mm?

Am I a master now?

Not at all.

But you have great tenacity.

Do you mind

teaching me some super swordplay?

You use blades. Why do you want to learn swordplay?

I can do both.

It's greedy of you.

This is the swordplay of Snakes in Sleeves.

If you can't master it before arriving in Wudi City,

you're not destined to have it.

You're teaching me Snakes in Sleeves?

Whatever.

You may not master it.

What are you looking at?

Didn't Lord of Jing'an return your sword to you?

Why are you still using the wooden sword?

I threw it away.

You did?

Why?

Why do I need a broken sword?

But that's a famous sword.

Don't you mind?

Powerful as I am,

even I use a blunt sword from a blacksmith's shop,

I'll still be God of Sword.

How powerful are you?

Without me,

swordsmanship would be in the dark!

You're quite boasting.

Few people can do that.

I'm modest enough.

We've had enough rest.

Time to leave.

Mm.

By the way, senior,

have you thought

about getting married?

What do you think of Pei Nanwei?

Are you out of your mind?

Seriously,

Pei Nanwei

is a hot potato.

Even Lord of Jing'an thinks she's fishy.

If we travel with her,

there'll be a lot of trouble.

But we can't send her back to Xiangfan.

If you can marry her,

you'll keep her under control.

Get lost!

Grandpa Wei.

Your Highness.

Senior.

Qingzhou Cavalry

has caught up.

It doesn't make sense.

If Lord of Jing'an wanted to kill me,

he needn't have waited until now.

It's...

Young Master Zhao Xun.

He came for Consort of Jing'an.

See?

Here comes the trouble.

Give her to me

and I'll let you leave.

Here we meet again.

The wound on your face...

Has it recovered?

Give her to me.

Who?

You kidnapped Consort of Jing'an.

You're quite ignoring us.

How dare you come to stop me

with only so few soldiers!

Your father isn't aware, is he?

This is the struggle between Qingzhou and North Liang.

Martial artists shouldn't interfere.

You're scared?

I ask for a battle assignment.

I would like to capture him,

for your disposal, Your Highness.

How about this?

Let me ask her.

If she wants to go with you,

I'll let her go.

You heard us.

Do you want to go back to Xiangfan with Zhao Xun?

See?

She doesn't want to leave.

How's that possible?

You must have threatened her.

Stop saying "her".

She's your stepmother.

Get ready to fight.

Your Highness,

I'm sorry.

I'd like to accept any punishment!

I'm sorry that you've suffered!

Your Highness.

Your Highness.

I'm late.

Your Highness.

Your Highness,

let me check on you.

Have you been hurt?

Have you barked your skin?

The monster Chu Lushan has come.

Li Chungang is around, too.

How can I kill my brother-in-law?

Isn't it too hard?

Fengzi Battalion neglected their duty

and made you hurt.

That's enough.

Stand up. Stand up.

Your Highness,

who's he?

Son of Lord of Jing'an.

He came to fight me.

Good, then.

Chu Lushan,

you're a general of sub-third rank.

How dare you leave North Liang with your army?

He's so nagging.

Shall I kill him?

He's the son of Lord of Jing'an.

We don't have a reason to kill him.

It's not a problem.

Let's kill them all.

Then let's set a fire

and burn their bodies.

Do you hear him?

It's not too late to leave now.

When the fight starts,

I can't stop him.

Your Highness,

Chu Lushan is famous for his ruthlessness.

If we fight directly,

I'm afraid we can't defeat them.

I'll take revenge for what happened today!

I dare you to point at His Highness again!

Let's go back to Xiangfan.

Wait a minute.

Don't push it.

Give the blade back to me.

Go.

It's benevolent of you, Your Highness.

In my opinion,

we should just kill such guys.

Why did you come?

Godfather sent me.

Xu Xiao?

Yeah.

Isn't he in the capital?

He asked me to lead my cavalry

to Qingzhou for you when I received

the sword tassel sent by a hawk.

What hawk?

I don't know.

I just saw the hawk that day

and then I set out.

Luckily, I arrived in time

and didn't let them hurt you.

Wait.

Why did Xu Xiao send you to Qingzhou?

He didn't tell me the reason.

He simply asked me to take orders from you.

Shall I

go to Wudi City with you?

Ridiculous.

What do you think I should do, then?

Go back to North Liang.

Ah?

I came all the way here.

But you want me to return?

How about this?

Let them go back

and let me stay.

You're a general of sub-third rank.

Qingzhou is the farthest you can reach.

If you keep following me, what will the royal family think?

I'll quit my job, then.

Nonsense.

Just go away.

Your Highness.

Shut up.

I came all the way...

Wait.

Mm?

Speaking of it,

I've got a mission for you.

This is Consort of Jing'an?

She's indeed beautiful.

Escort the two ladies

back to North Liang.

If you want to entrust me to Chu Lushan,

I would rather die.

Look what a bad reputation you have.

Don't worry, Your Grace.

I've done all kinds of evil things.

But there's an exception.

I never touch anyone

entrusted by His Highness.

Send Qingniao back to my mansion

for a good recuperation.

As for Consort of Jing'an...

She has a special status

and can't be kept in my mansion.

Shall I find a house

and hide her in Yanzhi County?

Sounds feasible.

But you must keep it secret.

I understand.

I'll keep her there without telling anyone.

When you're back, you can have a good time with her.

What are you talking about?

She's my aunt, speaking of seniority.

That's why I'll keep it secret.

Don't talk nonsense.

Just keep an eye on her.

Aye, Your Highness.

I know you're keeping a secret.

After I'm back in North Liang,

I'll ask you.

Your Highness.

You're awake?

I'm not going back.

But you're wounded.

I want to travel with you.

Chu Lushan will not go with Xu Fengnian.

Master?

Are you going to kill Xu Fengnian personally?

I can't show myself.

But if you don't go,

who else can kill Xu Fengnian when Li Chungang is around?

Even if I tried,

I might not defeat Li Chungang, either.

Ah?

What do we do, then?

Among five Fujiang Armors,

only the Gold Armor is available.

Go to Mount Longhu.

Mount Longhu?

For Four Longhu Arch-Taoists?

Go find the Fisherman

by the Bottomless Pool deep behind the mountain.

If we want to fight Li Chungang,

we have to depend on the Fisherman.

Is the Fisherman

a great master in isolation?

But without a reason,

why would he

help me to kill Xu Fengnian?

He's Zhao Huangchao.

He's also from the royal family.

Royal family?

The Xu Family is the biggest obstacle of the royal family.

If you convince him with this reason,

he will help you, I guess.

After Xu Fengnian is killed,

I have to aggravate the situation personally

so that Xu Xiao will rebel and leave the capital.

When the world is in chaos,

you'll have a chance to take over the throne.

Thank you, Master,

for racking your brains.

No plan can be activated

until Xu Fengnian is killed.

I understand.

My brother-in-law

has to be killed.

Please take good care of yourself.

On your way,

if anyone dares to be rude to you,

keep that in mind.

Later, I'll kill them all.

How dare you stay that!

You're no longer scared of military laws?

You're more important than military laws.

Go take care of another thing.

Wang Linquan and his family have returned to North Liang.

Look after them for me.

Don't let them feel aggrieved.

Don't worry, Your Highness.

Lyu Qiantang died in the reeds.

Here are his cremains.

Take them back to North Liang, too.

Find out where the Lin Family settled down.

Before his death, he said

that he wanted his cremains to be cast into the river.

But I believe he wants to go home.

Take him back home.

Count on me.

Take care, Your Highness!

How far has Yu Youwei gone?

Not far ahead of us.

Let's go and meet her

before we keep going east.

Yes.

Look at you.

I was just dizzy.

I feel much better after some sleep.

Your Highness,

I can still drive the carriage.

Don't talk nonsense.

Sit here for recuperation.

Where are we going?

Jiangnan. [♪Jiangnan: south of the Yangtze River]

I'm going to see my eldest sister.

Chu Lushan was sent by Xu Xiao, right?

Yes.

He came right in time.

I thought I didn't choose the way Xu Xiao arranged for me.

But in the end,

I've been doing everything

in the way he expected.

He's your father, after all.

No one else in this world knows more about you than him.

He has arranged the future for you.

You can't get away.

Here we go.
