(Mount Qingcheng Qingyang Sect)

Where's Wu Lingsu?

Look at the stone tablet.

It's the handwriting of the late emperor.

(Dismount from Horse) No matter who you are,

get off your horses.

The calligraphy is poorly written.

Presumptuous.

Take position.

Shenxiao Sword Array.

Who would like to break it?

Maybe someone else.

He can't break the array.

He surprises me.

The move he used was Chixia.

Is it a sophisticated move?

I doubt it.

It only works

by exhausting qi and blood.

The more he uses it, the more badly he gets hurt.

People who practice the move

don't live long.

How did he learn it?

His Lordship taught him.

Did Xu Xiao trick him?

Doesn't he know

the move may take his life?

He knows.

Have you made up your mind?

Though the swordplay

is powerful,

people who practice it

die quickly.

As long as I can exchange a slim chance of survival for Lin Family

with my life,

I'm willing to die

thousands of times.

Give him.

(Chixia Swordplay)

Let's bet

how long can he hold out.

My guess is

two hours.

Give him a hand.

Me?

If Your Highness

says so.

- Despicable. - Despicable.

He has to fight all of you by himself,

yet you think we're despicable?

I don't think it's fair.

It was Yuxiao Array just now.

Now it's the real

Shenxiao Sword Array.

It's powerful.

Only God of Sword

can break it.

Don't you take action?

I will if you take me as your master.

Forget it.

Let me try.

Your Highness.

Your Highness.

Don't put yourself at risk.

I made the trouble.

I can't just look on.

I'll fight with you.

Your Highness.

The dead and wounded have been sent back.

Fengzi Battalion report for duty.

Just in time.

Stone tablet left by the late emperor.

World-famous Shenxiao Sword Array.

Dare you break it with me?

Take position.

Who are you, if I may ask?

Xu Fengnian.

Son of Lord of North Liang?

(Mount Qingcheng) We're in Qingcheng instead of North Liang.

You invaded our place.

What do you want?

There is a bandit called Old Meng,

a little girl called Xiaoque'er

and a bunch of bandits following Old Meng.

I must find them all,

no matter dead or alive.

We've never seen them.

I have nothing to say, then.

Mr. Xu.

Xiaoque'er.

Wu Lingsu, Lord of Qingcheng.

You've come all the way.

Why don't you come with me

(Lord of Qingcheng Wu Lingsu) to enjoy the mountain scenery?

Fine.

You can

come alone.

Please don't.

OK.

I'll go by myself.

You've had a long day.

You can retire now.

We haven't arrived in Qingzhou yet.

You can't die.

Of course.

Get ready.

If anything goes wrong,

(Mount Qingcheng)

flatten the mountain.

Is he out of his mind?

He goes alone, really?

Girl,

aren't you worried?

He is a hundred percent safe.

Why should I be worried?

Are you sure I will save him?

I'll bet you 500 coins

that without your help,

Xu Fengnian still can get out of the jaws of danger.

He hasn't mastered the skill of using his blade.

He can't do that.

Do you bet?

Yes.

Shall we sneak in?

Here we are.

Xiaoque'er.

Go inside first.

You surprised me.

Your Highness,

you dare come in.

Turn them over to me now.

You ran the risk of

provoking Qingyang Sect just for the village girl?

Make your bargains.

Were the man and woman who broke the array

your guards?

They showed no respect to us.

I want them to die.

Fine.

Give me what I want.

I'll turn them over to you.

I want you to go out now

and take their heads to me.

That's not the deal.

I'm not making a deal with you.

Once you come to my place,

your life is in my hands.

You have no choice.

He didn't fall for the trap.

What do you think he would do?

What he would do?

Fight, if he fails to make a deal.

Dare he fight against him?

What's there to fear?

It's Wu Lingsu who will find it hard

being on thin ice.

Do you want to die?

I'll give you a chance.

Bring them to me.

But your life

is in my hands now.

Fengzi Battalion is waiting outside your gate.

Everyone saw me

coming with you.

To kill me,

you'd better think

if you're capable of killing all my men first.

As long as one of them escapes,

Xu Xiao will lead North Liang Cavalry here

to flatten the mountain.

After killing you,

I'll return to the capital immediately.

I don't think Xu Xiao

can catch up with me.

He doesn't have to.

Your family will be turned over to North Liang.

You're lying!

They'll trade your family's life

for Xu Xiao's retreat.

It gains ten thousand percent.

You lose.

You knew it in the very beginning?

It's easy to guess.

How dare they

kill the son of Lord of North Liang in public?

Does he come alone because

he has nothing to fear?

Yeah.

He is too cunning

to risk his own life.

I didn't expect you to be his bosom friend.

Nonsense.

You owe me 500 coins.

You deserve your reputation.

Lubricious reputation?

No wonder she keeps praising you.

Who do you mean?

What are you talking about?

OK.

Bring them to me.

You can tell people in the capital

that I bullied you.

The royal family won't blame you.

No hurry.

Someone wants to see you.

Old Meng isn't dead, is he?

You're far-sighted

with iron nerves.

You're great.

Aunt.

Fengnian.

Aunt.

Zhao Yutai.

Do you know her?

I had been hiding under Tingchao Pavilion for years.

Whenever Xu Xiao and his wife went to see me,

she stood by their side.

Does she work for Xu Xiao?

Do you know Xu Fengnian's mother?

Yeah.

She was the first person in the mansion of Lord of North Liang

who smiled at me.

I still remember her.

His mother's surname was Wu.

She came from the Wu family,

who was the last sword champion.

The sword masters of the family

all have their own swordsmen,

who grew up with their masters.

In that case,

she was the Consort's swordsman?

She was a sister

rather than a swordsman to her.

No wonder he called her Aunt.

Don't be sad.

(Sword Tomb of the Wu family) I'm not sad.

(Swordsman Zhao Yutai)

I'm happy.

After my mother died,

you got disappeared.

Have you been imprisoned here by him ever since?

He's my husband.

Then...

Why did he do this to me?

During your travel,

you made many friends.

With your status,

you've been watched by many people.

Those with ulterior motives may use your friends against you.

I took them to Qingyang Sect

in order to protect them.

That's right, Mr. Xu.

They're very kind to me.

Then...

Where is Old Meng?

They've been sent to

North Liang.

Now,

they have land.

They're doing very well.

Master said I'm talented.

I'm a disciple of Shenxiao Sect, too.

Have you taken my aunt as your master?

Her master is your uncle.

Well...

Wasn't he granted as Lord of Qingcheng?

Qingyang Sect has been hostile to North Liang over the years.

Isn't it real?

It's our plot.

We keep an eye on the capital for North Liang.

Does Xu Xiao know it?

Of course.

You have a good talk.

I'll look around

in case anyone will see you.

Mr. Xu,

see you later.

If anything I've been doing these years

leaks out,

it will cause a great disturbance.

General dares not tell anybody

for fearing it might put me in danger.

What a big plan.

Qingyang Sect is actually on our side.

In the future, when our cavalry come out of North Liang,

they'll meet no obstacle at Mount Qingcheng.

It won't strangle our throat again.

Except for Qingyang Sect,

I'm doing

more important things.

Is there anything more important?

These years,

I've been investigating

your mother's murderer.

Ah.

Who?

Go, quickly.

Aunt, don't worry.

They're with me.

I don't care about

what happened to your family.

Why are you there?

It's the old man's fault.

Ah.

Is there a ladder?

I'm going down now.

Jiang Ni.

A maid of mine.

Maid?

Like a concubine?

No.

No!

(Mount Qingcheng) He hasn't come out yet.

Shall we go in?

There's no need.

God of Sword and Jiang Ni are no longer in the carriage.

You mean...

They are already in probably.

Good.

God of Sword

will ensure his safety.

Which one do you mean?

Is there another God of Sword?

The one armed man, Li Chungang.

Isn't he dead yet?

Not yet.

Excuse me, sir.

I didn't mean that.

Sir, may I ask

where is His Highness?

Inside.

Then why did you come out?

I had too much breakfast.

I'm a little sleepy. Let me take a nap first.

Don't worry.

I left Jiang Ni there.

What's the use of Jiang Ni?

Since Mr. Li is back,

I don't think there would be any serious danger.

I'll retire, then.

You don't have to.

Aunt, go ahead.

You can tell her anything concerning me.

You just said

you've been investigating my mother's murderer.

Yes.

I've been doing that

since her death.

Did you find anything?

When your mother died,

General and I

found she was seriously wounded.

But she

wouldn't tell us the murderer.

The murderer must be powerful.

My mother didn't want us to take revenge for her.

Over the years,

I investigated the date step by step

and examined the cause of her death.

I can probably guess

when she was wounded.

She once

went to the capital alone.

She might

get wounded during the trip.

When was it exactly?

She was pregnant with you at the time.

The murderer was in the capital.

Have you found who it was?

Not yet.

I couldn't find anything.

But the result

is very illustrative itself.

The murderer must be powerful enough

to erase all the clues in the capital.

General asked me to

spread rumors

in Qingcheng

of your uncle being lecherous.

What's his plan?

He also asked me to pass some words.

He said,

you don't want to take over North Liang

in his way.

Yes.

Did you kill

those mountain bandits?

Yes.

If it were him,

he would also kill them

to avenge the dead.

Did he arrange that?

Yes.

The government surrounded them from all sides

to force them to Qingcheng.

Those bandits

were sent to test your ability.

General also guessed

you would break into the palace alone.

He said in advance that

your mind and means

were very much like his.

He said you wanted to take a new path.

But in the end,

you still took the path he had paved for you.

I know

you blamed him

on refusing to investigate your mother's death.

But you must understand

it involves too many people.

We must keep it secret.

I know.

General said

you were unwilling to kill,

but it turned out

when it was time to kill,

you wouldn't hesitate.

You and General

are just alike.

No.

I'm not like him.

I won't sacrifice my family.

It isn't my place

to get involved between you.

But General told me,

when you come up the mountain,

I must tell you all the clues I've found

during the investigation.

From now on, no matter how many years it takes,

even if General and I are dead,

you must follow up

and avenge your mother.

I'll follow up

even if he doesn't ask me to.

Please wait a minute.

I'll get you something.

OK.

You hold on too tight.

Does it hurt?

No.

I'm sorry.

Why didn't you remind me?

Your mother was a nice person.

I remember when I first got to the mansion,

I was scared and sad.

It was her gentleness

that comforted me during the most difficult times.

Xu Fengnian.

I'd like to avenge your mother with you.

But we're still bitter rivals.

Here are all the clues

I've found

during the investigation.

When did you marry Wu Lingsu?

Before I joined Shenxiao Sect.

Then we had Shizhen.

He is about your age.

Where is he?

In the capital.

Your uncle was granted as Lord of Qingcheng

and under orders to oppose North Liang.

Outwardly, he is powerful.

Is he taken hostage?

As long as my real identity is not revealed,

he'll be fine.

We must find a way to save him.

You don't have to

worry about him.

Read this thoroughly

and burn it.

Where are you going?

I have some errands to run.

I'll come back soon.

Why don't you read it to me?

One coin per word.

Are you crazy?

Your aunt has been concealed her real name to investigate the case.

It's important.

How can you let me read it?

It doesn't matter.

Read it on yourself.

What message did you send?

How long has it been

since we last saw Shizhen?

There's no one in the capital he can trust.

He carries his life in his hands.

Tell me what message did you send.

Details of Xu Fengnian's visit.

It was supposed to be sent to the capital.

If we tell them

Xu Fengnian broke the sword array,

they'll trust us more.

What else?

Layout of the North Liang barracks.

Only by doing this,

could Shizhen come home.

Her Grace treated me like a sister.

I owe her

my life.

It's just the layout of barracks.

Nothing confidential.

Who asked you to do this?

I don't need anyone to tell me

how to save my son.

You've been uneasy since last time

when Shizhen sent a letter to us.

Did he ask you to do this?

He wants to escape the danger

and come home.

Has Shizhen

turned to the royal family

in the capital?

Of course not.

Good.

Don't you want him to come back?

Do you really want to

sacrifice our son for North Liang?

General has left for the capital.

Did he tell you

he would rescue Shizhen?

No, he didn't.

How can you believe him, then?

If General doesn't

bring Shizhen back this time,

I'll go to the capital myself

to rescue our son.

If you really

sent the military intelligence

to the capital,

I'd have no choice but to kill myself in front of Her Grace's tomb.

Fine.

I won't send the letter.

Don't tell Fengnian

about this.

Yeah.

Have you done with it?

My mother's murderer

was from the royal family of Liyang.

There's no concrete clue, isn't there?

It recorded the time

when my mother went to the capital.

Two points.

One,

she was just pregnant with me.

Two,

Xu Xiao was about to be granted as the Lord of North Liang.

They had no choice

but to grant your father as the lord.

He conquered the six kingdoms.

They couldn't convince the public if they didn't do that.

But the royal family

definitely didn't want North Liang to have a young master.

So my mother's pregnancy

was what they feared most.

It turns out your enemy is the royal family.

Yes.

Your father could draw the conclusion, too.

Why didn't he

rebel against the capital?

If he rebelled,

the world would fall apart.

Numerous people would die.

For that reason, you give up taking revenge?

No, I won't.

I just don't want to take revenge at the expense of peace.

What do you mean?

If they sent out troops at the time,

my mother couldn't leave the capital alive.

I think they dare not

take action in public.

They must've tried to assassinate her.

My mother was the top talent

of Sword Tomb of the Wu family in nearly a hundred years.

They needed a real master

to kill her.

There might be more than one assassin.

I'll find out the assassins who ambushed her

one by one

and take their heads with my own hands

to pay homage to her.

One day,

I'll go to the capital to find out the truth myself.

Your mother left something to you.

What is it?

Follow me.

I'll wait here for you.

It's far from Qingyang Sect, isn't it?

Qingyang Sect has attracted too much attention.

Her Grace preferred quietness.

What's this?

Her Grace and I

were from Wu Family.

I know.

Sword Tomb of the Wu family was once the top sect of swordplay.

Not anymore.

Li Chungang.

Deng Tai'e.

Jian Jiuhuang.

Top masters of swordplay emerge without end.

The Wu Family

has lost on fate already.

But it still has foundation.

Foundation

and family rules.

Back in the time,

Her Grace wasn't allowed to be with General.

She broke up with her family

and went to Liaodong on a white horse.

So they finally got together

and then they had you.

The Wu family must be mad.

After the members of the family die,

their swords should be returned to the Sword Tomb.

But Her Grace

was an outcast from her family.

Her sword

couldn't be sent back.

That's why

I sealed up her sword here.

She told me before she died,

if you

choose to practice martial arts,

her sword

would be left to you.

North Liang overran the whole world.

Her Grace

(Daliang Dragon Sparrow) had defeated many heroes with the sword.

Her Grace also said,

if you

meet a good girl one day,

who happens to practice swordplay,

the sword would be left to her as the betrothal present.

I'm afraid I won't meet anyone

like my mother.

As long as you like her,

she is the best in the world.

The big one in the mountain.

Are you Xiaoque'er?

Big one?

Is it a tiger?

It's a monster.

It's fair to call it a monster.

It's a strange beast in Mount Qingcheng

called Hukui.

It's extremely fierce.

Have you seen it?

I once fought it.

It couldn't defeat me.

I couldn't defeat it, either.

It's a fight.

How strange!

There's no beast in Mount Qingcheng that can fight it.

Xu Fengnian

will be back soon.

Mr. Xu is very nice.

He taught me to blow leaves.

I thought at the time

I would be his matchmaker

and arrange him a good marriage.

Yeah.

However,

he has you now.

Wait.

What do you mean?

Do I have anything to do with it?

I haven't found the right one for him.

It's a pity.

I always feel

he deserves a fairy.

Let's go.

Already?

Yes.

Do you want to come with us?

Mr. Xu.

I have

got your things off my mind just now.

What things?

So I can't go with you.

Oh.

It may not be a bad idea.

We're in a hurry.

When I get back,

I'll come to see you.

OK.

I'll wait for you.

It's a deal.

What's up?

I feel sorry for you.

You don't even know

you've missed a fairy.

It's a favor to you.

What have I missed?

What's the favor?

Stop asking.

Is it what your mother left to you?

Daliang Dragon and Sparrow.

My mother's sword.

You practice blade instead of sword, don't you?

This is also the betrothal present

to my future wife.

Isn't it a little dangerous

to use a sword as betrothal present?

Take it.

What're you doing?

You're my maid.

Shouldn't you hold it for me?

Or do you want me to hold it myself?

That's what you mean.

What do you think?

Never mind.

Where's your aunt?

She can't walk me out,

otherwise our relationship will be disclosed.

We have to let people think

Qingyang Sect and I are enemies.

Yeah, I get it.

You can't go out from the gate.

It's strange

if I leave the enemy's place

with a sword box.

So what?

You'd better go out by the side door,

walk along the woods to the mountain road ahead.

I'll let the carriage wait for you at the corner.

What about 10 coins?

20.

Deal.

I should ask for more, shouldn't I?

No.

Wait.

Remember.

Walk along the woods.

Don't go into the mountain.

I'm not a fool.

I know the way.

Keep it in your mind.

Hey.

He is out.

(Mount Qingcheng)

What you've done to me today,

I'll keep it in my mind.

Just wait.

One day,

I'll return to Mount Qingcheng.

Let him go.

Is this the right way?

It sounds like

the beast is cornered.

It's strange.

Which beast dares to

fight Hukui?

Grandpa Wei, Qingniao.

Come with me to the woods.

Why isn't there any sound of birds?

Xu Fengnian.

Is that you?
