Billy!

Hey, what's going on?

There you are.

So your cousin is coming in, Hailey. She's going to be here in about a

minute.

So you're going to be nice and get along with her.

I'll do my best.

And you're going to make sure that she feels welcome.

Okay. Yeah?

Yeah? Yes, ma'am. Yes, ma'am. I'm going to make sure my step-cousin feels

welcome. Yeah, I get it.

Okay. You good boy?

Alright, well, you're fine, you're fine.

Billy!

Come help me, I think your step cousin's here.

Oh, she's here?

Yeah, she's here.

Hi!

You're so cute.

Thank you.

You look so adorable. Thank you.

You're welcome.

Billy, this is Haley.

This is Billy.

Hi, nice to meet you.

Yeah, I'm going to show you to your room.

And you can take that, right? Yes.

Good boy.

Thanks, Billy.

No problem.

We're so excited to have you here. I'm so excited to be here.

It's been such a long time since we saw you. I know.

little stranger again.

What up? I'm all grown up now.

You are all grown up now. I heard that somebody got into college. I did.

I got into Harvard.

You did? Yeah.

Your mother is so proud. Oh, I know.

So you're going to school and that's going to start in a few months.

Yes. Are you doing anything else fun for the summer?

I've been surfing.

Really? Yeah.

Yeah. It's so interesting. I'm still learning though.

I bet Billy would be interested in that. That sounds like his kind of thing. You

two are about the same age, so you won't just be hanging out with your... No.

Hey.

Hi, honey. So I put your bag in your room. Oh, thank you so much. Thank you.

Well, I appreciate the help. You know, your cousin is into surfing, apparently.

She just started.

Yeah. Well, you're in the best area for it. Yeah.

You can go to the beach at some point or something. I was trying to think of

things to do with you while you're here.

And I was like, well, I mean, we could also see a movie or something if we just

wanted to kind of like take it easy. If there's anything out, I don't know what

you're really interested in, of course.

Well, I like comedies, and I like scary movies, too. Oh, you do like scary

movies, too. Okay.

We can do something like that. Maybe spend an evening doing that. And, of

course, there are a lot of parks around here. There's always the beach, which is

basically where Billy lives during the summer. It's the beach. It would be nice

having you stuck at home with me for once. Well, you know, there's a lot of

people that live down there, so why not?

I don't mind. I just miss you sometimes.

Okay.

But there's that.

So we'll have stuff to do, but you know, tell me more about yourself. What are

you going to major in? Are you going to live on campus?

Yeah, so I'm going to live on campus for my first year.

Okay. But I'm hoping to become a lawyer.

Okay. What kind of lawyer? I haven't decided yet.

I'm just going to feel it out and see what I...

I always think the entertainment law is a really good way to go. But, you know,

we'll be very proud of you. You know, environment, family law, whatever you

want to do is good with us. We're just so proud of you anyway.

Did you hear that somebody got into Harvard?

Oh. Yeah.

And me and my boyfriend broke up. You broke up with your boyfriend? Yeah.

We were high school sweethearts. What was his name? How convenient.

David. David.

David. Okay. All right. Well, I'm... Really?

Yeah, but it's for the best, you know? You are going off to college and

everything. I mean, it's a big change. So, you know. Yeah. I guess I can

understand that. I broke up with my boyfriend, too, when I went to college.

Yeah. It's just something you do. It's really hard.

It's difficult to maintain it and everything. You know, like, he was a

great guy. You know, he's a great guy. He's probably still a great guy.

it's just you know it's so hard to maintain a long-distance relationship

you know like you're so young you're having all these new experiences

somebody's going to get jealous you know something's going to happen gotcha i'm

still so proud of you we all are we should go out to dinner to celebrate

yeah we should go out to dinner to celebrate oh my goodness okay oh god

there's this like local place that i actually really really like le condor

ravella

Gorgeous. Love it. What kind of food is it? It's Italian. There's also the Inn

of the Seventh Ray. Do you remember where I took you there? It's in Topanga,

kind of. Okay.

Yeah, I do remember that. Yeah, it's really good. It's such a trip to go

there. They have water that's been blessed by some priestess or something.

So it's very hippie-ish. Okay. But, you know, I mean, I want to drink water

that's been blessed by a priestess. Me too.

So it's kind of like a fun thing to do. So we can go there.

And then when we're out in Topanga, you know, maybe go for a hike or something?

Yeah. Can we go to the mall, too?

That may be something I send you to do with your cousin. Yeah.

I'll drive you guys to the mall. I'll definitely take you to the mall. I can

do the mall.

Gosh, I'm just so excited that you're here. The only thing that I definitely,

definitely, definitely want to do was I just want to hit up this local museum.

Ooh. Yeah, it's not like a big...

museum, you know, it's not like the Met or anything, but it's like a small

little place, but one of my friends is doing an installation there, and I

really want you to see her things. Ooh, what kind of installation?

Well, you know, it's just paintings, you know, but, um, they're just, like,

they're really interesting, so, oh, God, how do I best describe it? So, it's sort

of like this very primal, like, body fluid kind of thing. I mean, you have to

see it. It's all about, like, you know, womanhood and, like, female sexuality,

and... I just, I really love them and I want to see what you think of them. I'm

excited, yeah, yeah.

I bet you'll like them, you know? I mean, they're gonna be like a little bit

more book-y than, but you'll like art stuff too, so I can appreciate some good

art. Absolutely.

That's the only thing that I absolutely want to do while you're out here. We

only have you for a few weeks, so we need to set you up.

Well, we have you here. We don't see you again until, gosh, if you're all the way

back in Harvard.

Where's that, Connecticut?

I think it's in Connecticut. Yeah. Boston.

Is it?

You know what it is. Yeah.

Never. Is it?

I can't tell. I just got accepted. I haven't done that much research yet.

Fine. I believe you.

Okay.

So you're going to be all the way back there on the East Coast anyway.

Yes. And we're probably not going to be able to see you. Maybe for Christmas?

Yes. I'll come back for Christmas.

Yeah, not a whole lot. Christmas and then probably next summer too.

Uh-huh. Yeah.

We'll make it like a bye.

Not a bye. Like a...

Semi-annual. Semi-annual thing. Yeah.

Okay. We have something at least to look forward to. Yeah.

As for right now, maybe just like take the rest of the day to let you get

settled and then just like maybe order a pizza or something. Yeah. Watch a movie.

I don't know. Yeah. We'll do something. Yeah.

Hang out. Get to talk to you a little bit again. Yeah.

Did you bring a swimsuit? I did. Okay. All right.

So we don't have a pool, but there is like a spa outside.

So, you know, that's good.

That's always nice.

Yeah. Like go hang out there, get a pizza.

Maybe make like a pitcher of margarita.

Yes.

Okay. All right. Don't tell your mom. Okay.

It'll be really nice. Yeah. Just like maybe spend the rest of the day

relaxing. Okay.

Oh, gosh.

So, I don't know. What do you like to eat on your pizza, Billy, honey? You

like? you just like pepperoni don't you do you like pineapple yeah yeah yeah he

likes pineapple hawaiian yeah we'll get one hawaiian pizza okay that's my

favorite we'll do one hawaiian and then i will get a real pizza okay i'll be

nice how was your flight in it was a little bumpy you know there was a little

bit turbulence but not too bad okay not too bad all right yeah how long was it

It's kind of like, it's like five hours. Yeah, it's like a five hour flight.

Yeah, I've flown across the country.

So yeah.

I haven't even, I keep going. Yeah, I just, I tried to sleep on it, but it

just didn't really work because it was so bumpy.

Yeah. Yeah.

I don't know. I just like, first of all, I do not like the search process at all.

I don't. I mean, what else are you going to do? Are you going to drive? No,

absolutely not. You don't really have a lot of a choice.

Yeah. I can't remember the last time I was on a plane.

Really? No.

So it's an hour at least to get to the airport in the first place. Then you

have to be there an hour early.

And then it takes forever to board and everything. And then you have to rent a

car. It's an hour flight. You have to rent a car. It's more expensive.

You know, especially if you're flying more than one person.

so i mean really you know i mean i know there's a lot of great stuff if it's not

tahoe or like northern california or like maybe las vegas you just stay here

yeah honestly i mean i don't know that's why we moved to california you know one

weekend you can be in the mountains or the desert or the desert and the next

weekend you're in a beautiful verdant forest or the beach or whatever there's

just i don't know i just like feel very happy being

in the area like not that there isn't like great stuff that i wouldn't want to

see i do think sometimes that going like up and down washington dc like that kind

of area in the east coast yeah so you haven't been on the east coast recently

not recently i mean maybe like 10 years at least it's been a while yeah

i just i don't like all the processes that you have to go through to fly but

just just a second

Mama.

So I was thinking that when we just like rinse off and then maybe just go to the

spa. Yeah, yeah.

Honey, can you call for pizza, please? Get yourself your gross one and then I

just want... And then we'll eat the normal one.

It's not gross, it's awesome.

Whatever, just get me peppery black olive.

Okay.

We're so happy you're here. I'm so excited to be here.

Go get changed, right?

Hmm.

Hmm.

Hi, sweetheart.

Hey. You're back.

We are back. How was it?

It was fun. I had my first, what was it? I don't know. I don't know. I had a

hydra facial.

She did. She looks so pretty. Yeah.

Right? Yes. She does look good. Thank you.

What are you watching?

Just trying to finish this movie.

Oh, okay.

Where are we? We're at the midpoint? Yeah.

We'll finish it with you. I haven't seen you all day.

I'm glad you guys are back.

Yeah. Ooh.

Wow.

Crazy.

This is intense.

I always wonder if people really do have those money counting machines.

Like... Who wants to draw that one?

I don't know.

I like counting money.

Why would you buy one?

I could do that but I don't wanna.

Me either, honestly.

Wow.

Look at those crazy colors.

What kind of TV is this?

It's really bright.

I don't actually know. That's a really good quality.

Do you know what it is?

I have no idea.

I don't know.

The movie looks great on the screen.

I

don't

think I'd want to fight with someone who's wearing a peplum.

Oh my gosh.

The shoes came off and everything.

What about the earrings?

Here they go. Here they go.

The guy just pushes them apart like it's nothing.

I like her hair though. For someone who's just been in a fight, her hair

looks great.

It's that freshly just fought hair.

Oh, hers looks good too.

I think Chris wants nothing to do with it.

It's about to get crazy

Jail

changed my man How?

In a good way or a bad way?

It's supposed to

We're adding new ingredient to the mix.

This is crazy.

I mean, they all seem very passionate.

What are you watching? Oh my god.

Do you watch this all the time, Billy?

No.

This is so entertaining, though.

It's going to have to start happening.

I know you're going to feel like into the action, but I think the set design

is kind of a trip.

Look at that.

The color.

Yeah, it's like a, I don't know, it's like psychedelic Freddy Krueger.

Why is this taking place in like some sort of factory?

I don't know, I guess if I was going to get into a fight, I guess I'd want to be

at a psychedelic factory.

That sounds like a good setting.

Yeah, more hair pulling.

It's certainly very testosterone-y

I'm kind of tired. I'm going to take a little nap.

Yeah, it is late.

I'll see you guys a little later.

I don't know, this is getting kind of weird for me. Yeah, I think I'm ready

for bed.

Yeah, you ready for tub and tuck-in? Yeah, I think so.

I'm just going to turn this off.

Can you show me to my room?

Yeah, yeah, I'll take you back there.

Hey.

How'd you sleep? Hey.

I slept pretty good. How about you? Pretty good.

Yeah. How do you like it here so far?

I like it.

It's nice.

Really nice. Yeah.

Yeah. The weather's really nice too.

You seem to like it. Yeah.

We might have to go to an amusement park or something.

I know.

I know before I leave.

Yes. Yes. I do like roller coasters.

It's kind of hot. So it's going to be like a lot of lines, but yeah, that'll

suck, but I think it's worth it. To live misters.

Yeah. Yeah.

But yeah, we'll definitely, before you go, we'll go. Yes. Before I go back to

Harvard. Yeah. Yeah.

Where's Harvard again?

Boston. Okay, good. Just check in.

Thanks for refreshing my memory earlier. I really needed that.

If you're going to lie to people and tell them you're going to Harvard, you

got to know where it is. I'm not lying.

Why do you always think I'm lying? Even whenever we were younger, you were

always picking on me for lying.

Because you are a liar.

You haven't changed.

So what have you been up to? I don't know what you've been up to lately. Just

living. Just living?

Go to the gym, obviously.

Okay.

That's it?

Yeah. That's all you do? Go to the gym? Yep, and work.

Okay.

Been busy with work?

Yeah.

What about your hobbies? What are you doing for fun besides just working out?

Nothing. Nothing?

Just watch my shows.

Okay.

What kind of TV shows do you like?

I like dramas.

Drama? Like reality TV?

Oh, yeah.

Yeah. I could get down with some good reality TV, too.

So have you ever been to New Orleans before?

No. Really?

Oh, my God.

i feel like you would love the food cajun food cajun creole southern

whatever you want to call it spicy a little bit spicy yeah do you like

seafood is it spicy i mean a little bit yeah

it has more flavor than regular food i

find do you like seafood yeah yeah

Oh, they do that, what, crawfish?

Yeah.

You have to, like, peel it. It's kind of like shrimp, but different.

Yeah. You might have to teach me that.

Yeah, I'll teach you how to peel crawfish. It's a lot of work, though, to

get, like, a little piece of fish, though, isn't it?

But it's so good.

Because you cook it in, like, potatoes and corn and garlic.

Yeah. So it has all the flavor.

So good.

Is it easy to cook? No, you have to boil.

So you boil the crawfish alive with all the ingredients to give it flavor.

And then you eat them.

It's like a lot of work.

Yeah, but it's like an experience. You might have to set me up.

Yeah.

Do you want me to peel your crawfish for you?

The first couple of years.

But it's so hot there right now. Like, being over here is so much better.

Is there, like, a crawfish season?

Yeah, it's from January to May.

Hi. Hi.

Kim, how are you doing?

Good. Good. Yeah, I'm doing good. I'm so glad that you're getting along.

Yeah. You feeling welcome here, Haley? Oh, yes, absolutely.

Yeah? Really, you're being nice to your cousin? Yeah?

Hmm. Okay.

Well, uh...

Don't have any plans really for later, but I was thinking that this morning it

might be nice if I made pancakes.

Oh, I love pancakes.

Do you like pancakes? Yeah. Oh, I love pancakes.

I'm not like really a morning cook, but you know, I figure it's a special

occasion, right?

Yeah. And plus I don't know how to make waffles.

I feel like pancakes are easier anyways. Okay. Yeah. I mean, they're more my

speed.

About how long do you think it'll be until the pancakes are ready?

I'm trying to think. Maybe like half an hour?

Okay. Yeah, I'll come get you. I think you want coffee?

No, I'm good.

I'll take a cup. You want some coffee? Yeah. Okay, all right. I'll go get you

just flat, cream sugar.

Some almond milk.

Almond milk? Yeah. I think I have some almond milk.

Yeah, I don't like to drink dairy.

Okay, all right.

We can do that. Okay.

Gary, we can use some almond milk.

Yeah.

Okay.

All right. So I'm going to go and I'll just call you, I think. Yeah, just like

holler or come get us. Okay. Can you guys, can you think about what you want

to maybe do later?

Yeah. Wait, what's going to be inside the pancakes? Is there any like

blueberries or are they just plain?

Plain. Okay.

That's fine. Do you really want?

I'm okay with whatever.

You're okay with whatever? Yeah.

all right i did get like some really good like maple butter though oh yeah so

it's i mean they're they're just pancakes because i don't like pancakes

and maple syrup it's like pancakes but you know it'll be like it'll be a little

fancy yeah like whipped maple butter you know i'll get some like fruit for

tomorrow maybe blueberries do you like them yes okay i need some blueberries

and uh baby do you want anything pancakes you just want pancakes we all

want pancakes

I don't know, maybe I'll make dinner like every day for while you're here.

Dinner too?

I mean, you know, we'll see how it goes.

I mean, I usually make dinner, not like every single night, but like making

dinner is more... Every night.

I make it sometimes. I make it a few times a week, you know, at least,

whatever. I can do like my first chicken. That's really good. You like

that.

I like chicken.

Yeah, you know, I always like to go out like...

to eat for lunch and then come home for dinner yeah i am really glad that you

two are getting along though yeah i mean you know you always hope but you know

yeah it's been so long since we've seen each other too it has been a long time i

know just like everybody gets so busy and you're on the other side of the

country yeah it's difficult to like make everything work especially i mean like

you always say you're gonna do it for christmas yeah but then your mom and i

there's other plans you know she wants to go skiing and i'm like it's like a

whole thing but i'm glad are you two do you have anything in common how are you

oh yeah we have so much in common yeah yeah we both like to work out okay yeah

and we both like reality tv yeah yeah show me crawfish

crawfish yeah it's a louisiana thing crawfish are you gonna like eat it

yeah wait just like just like pick it up and like put it in boiling water or

something well you boil the crawfish alive and then you eat them whenever

they're done and full of flavor you could do that we could do crawfish one

night yeah um

i think you can get it shipped really yeah we'll see what we can do

i'll get on the internet today yeah i mean i doubt that your mom is going I

don't want to like overnight me crying.

I might not be into that, but okay.

I'm gonna go, and I'm just trying to think if there's anything else.

Whatever, I'll call if I need you, okay? Okay, all right. 30 minutes for

pancakes? Yeah, about 30 minutes. Okay. About 30 minutes for pancakes.

All right, okay.

Sweetie, you take a shower?

Mm-hmm. Okay.

Yeah,

she's so nice

Okay,

I'm gonna get ready to I don't want to be late for breakfast

This looks so good.

I hope they're good.

We usually make things from scratch.

Yeah? Sorry, if they're like really awful, we'll go after them. Okay.

All right.

Wait, where's my coffee?

Well, I mean, if you want it instead of your throat.

Okay, that's understandable.

They're so cute.

I feel like we're just one big happy family.

I'm glad that you two are getting along. I was like a little worried.

Yeah. Well, I mean, Billy's, you know, a boy. And, you know, you're very girly.

So, I just kind of thought, you know, it might.

I don't know.

Yeah, sometimes it's hard to like connect, you know. Yeah. Especially when

we haven't seen each other for so long.

But I think we're getting along pretty well. I'm very glad.

like there's kind of like a i don't know like a familial like the asthma

like a long lost bond i can see that rekindled that's a very good way yeah i

can see that yeah oh those didn't turn out so bad after all okay not bad

no i just found like a recipe on like you know some website

not bad yeah they're not that complicated to make yeah like i just

usually like i'm tired in the morning and just like stuff to do yeah you know

so it's like coffee maybe something i don't know that i'm quite at the point

yet where i want to like make fresh squeezed orange juice and everything but

i feel like i'm not there do you have a juicer i mean probably that's like the

kind of thing that you get for christmas yeah and you don't use it yeah i love

I'm a juicer. Are you juicing like a blender? Is that a thing? I think so. If

you just blend it, like over blend it. Wait, yeah. Is that going to be gross?

Well,

juice is juice.

Juice is juicer. You know what I mean? I mean, we can try it.

I'm like, I've come down to try it.

Or just ice and like blend it, blend it, blend it.

We could do that. We could try.

We should try. Like peel an orange and just like go, I'm worried it's going to

be really gross.

It might be. You're like, where is that juice at?

It might be.

It's worth a shot. I don't know. It might be really good. Or it could be

really gross.

It could.

Whatever. Well, I will do it if you promise to try it. I promise. All right.

Good. Did you just orange it? I mean, you blueberry and orange?

No, I'm not going to do that.

I don't know. I do. Yeah, I would do some of those blueberry and orange. I

have never in my life.

They're good!

I was just teasing you. You can have it.

I felt so rejuvenated after.

Yeah.

What did you do, a hydra facial?

Hydra facial. Hydra facial, what is that? I don't even know why you're doing

that. Facial. It's just a facial?

Is it super moisturizing? Yeah, it puts a lot of hydration back into your skin.

Okay. And the air is just so dry here compared to back home. It is very dry.

I can see that.

Maybe just go through the moisturizer like nobody's business.

Moisturizer is so expensive too.

It is. I mean, it's kind of a necessity out here. We need it. Oh my god, yes.

It's not negligible.

So what have, like, your hobbies been lately?

I know what Billy's are.

What am I doing?

What am I doing lately? God.

I don't know. Like, I have book club. I took this wine class.

It was interesting.

A wine class?

Like, to learn about the wine?

Yeah. So what we do is we find out it's, like, through this wine shop, you know,

downtown. And what they would do is they would, like, prepare a meal there.

before you, you know, showed up.

I was a little ticked off. Like, they had all the meals, and everyone was

like, you know, we're not doing any vegetarian meals. And then at the last

minute, someone said they were vegetarian.

So they wouldn't, which is fine.

But they wouldn't serve us.

That's a little bit of a bummer. That's a little bit of pain in the ass. It was

a little bit of a bummer. So I was a little bummed about that. But, you know,

it's still a really good class. And they did, it was so interesting. So they're

pairing wine with everything.

And apparently, Wine doesn't actually go that well with cheese, or at least

that's what the sommelier who was teaching the class kind of taught, you

know? So she was like, you know, don't do it with cheese.

But then she did a pairing with potato chips.

Oh, wait, with potato chips and wine?

Yeah, potato chips and wine.

And I was like... I didn't know that was a thing. Yeah, no, it was really good.

It was like these homemade, you know, just really thin potato chips that she

had made. Yeah.

So that part was really good.

Yum. Oh, she made the potato chips? No, no.

So she would like make everything beforehand and then like bring it in and

they would serve it. And then they would have like a bunch of different wines,

like not like a full glass of it, obviously, but a little bit.

And then you would, you know, just like take a bite of something and then pair

it with wine, cleanse your palate, take a bite, pair it with something else, and

just like take notes. And then she would talk about how she felt about it, how

she thought that everything tasted together and went together.

And did it go together?

Did you think it went together? Yeah, there were different things that, like,

you know, that worked better, in my opinion.

Yeah.

But, you know, I don't know. Was it just plain potato chips, or was it, like? No,

it was just, like, plain potato chips. Like, she just, like, sliced up a potato

and, like, fried it in, like, you know, well, I mean, it was in, like, truffle

oil or something. Yeah. So they were, like, fancy potato chips, but it didn't

have, like, you know, sage or anything like that. So it just tasted, like, you

know, I guess a little bit like truffle. but it just tasted like potato chips. It

was actually really good.

There's some kind of like a white.

What does she put in white?

I can't remember. I'm going to have to look.

Mostly she said that the point of the class was like to build up your

confidence so that people were like, you know, comfortable saying what they like.

And that when you are talking to a sommelier, you'll be able to say, you

know, I like this, I like that, you know, and all that stuff.

Yeah.

I might need to check that out. I love potato chips.

You can just do potato chips online. That could be like a new thing.

Maybe. That could be a new thing.

Autobiography. Potato chips online. A Harvard Law student story.

I could do that.

Crawfish? Crawfish online?

Crawfish online? Oh, no.

Is it acidic?

Is it? Yeah. Well, wine is acidic. Yeah. Seafood like that.

Like a white wine with like something you

can cook like shrimp and wine. Yeah.

That's like a thing.

Yeah.

down to the place where we had the class you know it's like a cute little store

and they have like all this like really weird stuff like these like ice wines

which are like super expensive which i kind of been wanting an excuse to buy

yeah we should go check it out i think it'll be fun you know although it's so

funny so you can go down there and you can like talk to yourself like an actual

sommelier before you buy something but they're they're so picky and they're um

They want you to bring down a sample of what you're going to be serving before

they'll tell you what'll come in.

That's a good idea.

They do. They want to pair it for you. To pair it, which is a good idea. That's

why I don't have to cook twice. Yeah.

Also, I'm like, I don't want to have to either serve, like, leftovers or,

like... I don't know. What I think I'm going to do is start planning ahead, you

know? Yeah. And, like, then bring down leftovers, and the next time I make it,

then I'll know what to do.

Yeah. I'll give them the freshly cooked meal.

Maybe it just changed the flavor a little bit, but I'm like, it's fine.

It's an art. It's not a science. It's an art. Yeah.

Do you prefer white or red?

I'm so boring. I really like the first term here. I like white.

Yeah.

I like white wine. I like a sweet white wine. It is very sweet.

I know it has like, Rieslings are good.

It's like a Gewurztraminer, probably my favorite.

I really like like the... Riesling's like the only one that I like.

Riesling's the only one. Yeah, like the candy wine.

Didn't you guys all like... Oh, it's Moscato.

Moscato. You might like Moscato.

It's too sweet.

Have you had Gewurztraminer?

It's also very, very sweet. That's why I think you usually put with fish.

But yeah, you would like that too. It's another white wine and it's like very

sweet. It's also like German as well.

So that's really good. Okay.

For red, I like Pinot Noir.

Pinot Noir's good.

Yeah, I like Pinot Noir.

I feel like I should drink red.

I hear there's health benefits.

Yeah, it's supposed to have like anti-oxidant things in it. Yeah. I

suppose.

I feel like I should be drinking it more, but I just feel like I like candy.

Yeah. I like it so much.

Yeah, I mean, I guess if I have to drink brewed, you know, I'd rather just like

wait till after dinner and have a glass of port.

Yeah. I'd rather just do like a tiny quart for like dessert, you know,

instead of like, because it's so like, everything that I like is so caloric.

Wine and like port.

I love wine.

I wasn't so into it.

And then I started taking the class and everything like just, you know, so I

would know how to talk about it. It was like a fun thing to do.

Yeah, I don't even really know how to talk about wine.

We went to... Where was it? Here we go.

It was... Oh, y'all went somewhere?

I think it was Le Cirque.

She takes me out all the time. Oh, wow.

I think it was at Le Cirque. But we went out to dinner and... No, it's Picasso.

It's Picasso.

We were at Picasso.

And then someone came out and he was like talking about like, oh, and this

wine is from like this region and I was born there. And like, you know, it

was... you know the sunsets and this and that and like the whole backstory like

this whole crazy story about this wine and i was like i want to be able to talk

about wine i want to be able to do that i want to be a wine mom a wine

connoisseur so i'm definitely not there yet for my like one

little class but i don't know this is fun you know i know what canons are now

so that's fun yeah

I wish I knew more about wine.

Like people ask these questions and I'm like, I don't know. I don't know. I'll

go to like the grocery store and I'm like, I'm like, man, I don't even know

what I want.

Friesling.

They're like, what region?

And I'm like, does it matter?

Like, does it matter?

Yeah, I'm like, the best Friesling region?

One of the things we did, because I, you know, usually just pick off the points,

which is fine.

But like they taught you what to look for in the label and stuff.

And just that was like actually really helpful. Oh, yeah. See, I could really

benefit off of that. Yeah. Like knowing like which labels to avoid. Of course,

you know what I mean? Like I used to like, I would buy Coca-Cola wine.

Yeah. And now they're like, don't do that.

If you're in all the ways that you can tell from there.

Maybe labels are a little bit lacking.

Yeah.

So what's your favorite food besides pancakes?

Besides pancakes. And wine.

Pancakes and wine.

We're going to do a breakfast wine now.

Ooh, is that a thing? Actually, you know what? I would count pork with pancakes.

I do pork and pancakes.

Yeah. Yeah, I'd be down for that.

I feel like wine could be a breakfast lunch.

I don't think you want pancakes for dinner, but.

Oh. See, it's got fruit and juice in it. Yeah.

That is a good point. Yeah.

It's breakfast food. Yeah.

It's your fruit juice.

You can make like a wine smoothie, but then you have to drink it. Ew.

Oh wait, have you ever had frosé? Like frozen rosé?

No, what's frosé?

Frosé all day.

Like rosé, like the, like, I think it's like sparkling wine.

Rosé? It's like a pink wine. Is it sparkling?

Or is it champagne? Moscato?

Moscato's not sparkling at all.

But rosé might be. It's like a sparkling wine. Not a champagne.

We're going to have to.

We're going to have to go figure it out.

Frozen rosé is so good. It's like a good summer drink.

It's like you just freeze it and blend it with ice.

It's like a slushie. I want to do that. That's a great idea.

It's so good. That sounds awesome.

It's so good. I love it. That is definitely like a very Los Angeles mom.

I'm just going to drink my rosé on a Monday at 2 in the afternoon. Rosé on a

Monday. See you in the afternoon.

With no other responsibilities.

A little romance novel and go.

Yeah.

We could

do that one day. We could blend up some rosé.

Yeah, that would be a great idea. I didn't know that was a thing.

before we hit the wine stores. I do want to go for like a walk or something.

Okay. Yeah. Oh yeah. Some exercise.

Get those steps in, you know? I want to get out.

Yeah.

Do you like, do you go on a walk every morning or is it just?

Yeah Oh my

god, yes so warm but like humid but like humid

so humid Yeah,

I feel like I need like a humidifier here

yeah but okay so where do you want to go do you want to do like a hilly walk or

just like a hike yeah

there's like one place i know that's a little bit

more strenuous you know really it's like a workout it is yeah so you know but

like the other spot that i'm thinking of it's like more level

It's so beautiful. You know, it's around this lake and everything.

So, I don't know.

I feel that, wow, we should like, you know.

I kind of want to show it to you, but we can go.

Yeah. I know you always like to work out all the time. I'm going to go climb

mountains if I like. Oh, really?

He likes to climb mountains?

I'm just joking.

Yeah, mommy's not doing it.

I don't even want to climb a mountain. Oh my goodness. That's a lot of work.

Yeah, it's a lot of work. I was scared of heights too.

And like climbing, I feel like I would just like be looking like down.

Like, oh my God, we're so high up.

I gotta get down.

I am very glad that you came out here. There's so many things that I want to

do. There's so many fun things. I feel like.

that we could do. Yeah, so much.

We'll go for the, we'll go for the hillier walk. Yeah. You know, we can

start that way. Is Billy coming with us too?

Do you want to go? Yeah.

Yeah, do you want to come?

Yeah. Okay.

It's going to be a fun bonding moment for all of us. Yeah.

It'll be nice.

We can always bond more.

Yeah. It's okay, you're going to see me trying to climb a hill though.

It'll be funny. It'll be a funny experience for all of us. It'll be good.

Yeah. I think that means also that I'm going to have another cup of coffee

though. Yeah. Oh my God.

That's going to be like a two cup of coffee experience for me.

Yeah.

Gosh.

so big i know how tall are you now billy

six six one oh wow yeah you kind of shot up

wow

breakfast was like so good i was thinking about it still i think i made

too many pancakes

We gotta finish it anyways.

I don't know,

I've never done it before.

I feel like we made

enough for like a family of like six.

Not all together, especially if I want to do that, I have to do it with

pancakes. Yeah.

It's just really starchy.

Yeah, I haven't heard of that.

You like pancakes, right?

Yeah.

I'm sorry I don't cook for you more often. It's just so easy to give you a

bowl of cereal.

I can always get down with a bowl of cereal, too.

Get down with a bowl of cereal. No, no, no, I'm going to make breakfast. I'm

going to make breakfast.

You actually cook, you know.

My niece is visiting.

I'm going to cook. It's going to be great.

There's a lot of really pretty trails up here. Do you have hiking boots?

Yeah, I have a pair of boots with me. They're just like black.

Yeah, they're fine.

Your feet are a bit smaller than mine. Yeah, no, don't worry. I have some

boots. I have some boots.

We could go get you some. Yeah.

Awesome. I think I have some.

i'll check whenever we finish breakfast all right well you do know if you ever

like need something while you're staying just tell me oh thank you so much figure

something out so hospitable i just want you to have a good time before you know

law school yeah i know you're gonna be so busy yeah a lot of reading yeah

oh i know understanding it's just basically reading yeah reading studying

That's it. Yeah.

But, you know, we'll be very proud of you when you're finished. Yeah.

Okay,

well then I'm going to pack up.

Got some water and some snacks and things.

Yeah. And then, I mean, I guess we can just kind of go. We don't have anything

else that we really need to do.

Except clean up breakfast.

Yeah.

No, I don't think it's that bad.

It's productive.

They need to sew.

Yeah. At least put them in there.

Okay.

Should we clean up the dinner?

Just bus things. Can you put this away? I'm going to go find a backpack and pack

a water bottle.

You're still eating?

Yeah, can you take out my plate too?

Yeah, I'll take it.

Thank you. I'll grab the cups.

Thank you.

Alright, break!
