The world you know is not what it seems.
Buried deep inside
one of America's leading universities lies
one of the largest collections of paranormal research
in the world.
This thing is slowly--
Something was communicating--
This is the spirit, this is your--
I saw these little objects hovering.
From telepathy, possession, the abduction experience.
They said, "we're coming."
Collected over decades,
much of it has never been seen by the public.
This is truly a halfway house
between your world and ours.
I'm scouring the globe
looking for new people with extraordinary stories.
I realized my dream is about to happen.
Their accounts will be preserved
alongside some of the most remarkable cases in history.
She's more than telepathic.
I felt like I was being watched.
I saw really horrific things.
There's no way for me to put into words
what I went through.
For as long as we've wondered
if we're alone in the universe,
we've had reports of people
who have claimed to have been visited by other beings.
Our collection is filled with
thousands of reports of alien abductions.
And over half of Americans believe that aliens exist.
What can we learn from the abductees
about the beings they've seen?
I've invited two experiencers to the archives
so we can record and preserve their extraordinary stories.
Joining me tonight is Professor Mike Masters.
He is one of the world's leading researchers
on the abduction phenomenon.
I'm a professor of biological anthropology
at Montana Technological University.
I specialize in human evolution.
But more recently, I've gotten into the question of UFOs.
And not just the craft themselves,
but who or what is inside?
What could they be? What are their origins?
Where, potentially when are they coming from?
There's a lot of questions,
but there's no doubt in my mind
that that life does exist somewhere.
Our first experiencer, Karin,
has spent decades trying to understand
a series of encounters that changed her life forever.
The experiences that I have had
have convinced me that we are not alone in the universe.
I think people imagine meeting ET or other aliens.
It's not like that.
It's not the same thing.
The messages that have been conveyed over and over again
is that human beings are actively jeopardizing
our future on this world,
and that if we didn't course-correct,
that we were headed towards disaster.
I was born in 1968.
We lived in St. Petersburg, Florida.
It's very sunny.
We spent time on the beach, but it wasn't a nice childhood.
My mother was unhappy having to raise a child by herself.
We didn't have a lot of money.
And then, weirdly, there was this
kind of flood of anomalous experiences
that was unleashed into my life.
I remember I had gone outside to play
with a bubble gum machine that I had just gotten.
It was a glass top with a metal base.
And the balls were very colorful and rattly--
On the inside, so I was very excited to have it.
And I was alone outside.
I remember walking out into the tree area next to the ravine.
One moment, I'm playing with this bubble gum machine.
But then suddenly, things got foggy, got gray.
And then I could see these silvery gray beings.
Then, as if a film had been spliced,
And then suddenly,
I was mid-stride in towards the house.
It was like
coming out of some kind of dimension or something
and coming back into this one.
It was a strange--
a strange thing that didn't make sense.
And I realized I didn't have my bubble gum machine with me.
And so I told my mom.
She came outside with me to look for it.
And it was nowhere to be found.
There was zero reason for it not to be there.
Zero.
I assumed that I would never have an explanation for it.
The phenomenon of missing time's very common
in these experiences.
These beings appear to have
some ability to control and shut us off.
They might have our own welfare in mind
when we don't remember things.
As I got older,
a strange thing started happening to me at night.
Fairly consistently, I used to get really profuse nosebleeds.
I would wake up in the middle of the night
just pouring blood out, which was bizarre.
Like, what would cause that kind of trauma to the nose
that would make it bleed for so long?
And I had a doctor look at my nose.
He said it looked like I had surgery
because I had scar tissue in there.
I had a few years of really weird stuff happening.
And then they just suddenly stopped.
I grew up, moved out of the house,
moved over to California, got a job at Oakland Airport,
and I met a pilot there.
And we liked each other.
Eventually moved in together.
One of the things that intrigued me about her
was the fact that she is wicked smart.
Fascinated, I was, by her.
I think we hadn't been together
for more than six to eight months, tops.
And suddenly, all holy hell broke loose again.
I settled down to go to sleep.
I suddenly noticed this blue light
coming through the louvered blinds.
And then all of a sudden
felt this feeling of being pulled upward.
At first, I thought maybe I was dreaming,
and I was trying to get oriented.
But I realized I was inside a very misty,
kind of white kind of room.
All of a sudden, I could see the face.
This gray being had these big liquid black eyes.
None of it [bleep] made sense.
Then I felt this long needle in my belly.
And then I just blacked out.
But I woke up the next morning with a mark there from it.
It was like a small scar.
Many people that have had these close encounters
where they're taken aboard the ship
describe sperm and eggs being taken.
What could be the reason
for why they're so focused on our genes?
We see a 60% reduction in sperm count over the last 40 years
in the Western world.
A lot of that's tied to pollution,
microplastics, chemicals.
And if that trend continues,
we would expect that in the future,
we struggle with reproduction
simply because of these reduced sperm counts.
And if you think about what that means, it's enormous.
We could be looking at a future where human beings
simply can't reproduce the way we do today.
And I strongly believe that
this might be at the heart of these abductions.
I do remember one episode where Karin and I came home
probably 3:30 in the afternoon on a Saturday.
We both felt weirdly exhausted.
We just suddenly had to take a nap.
And we both did not wake up
until maybe 15 hours later.
I'm a light sleeper,
but I was knocked out.
I found myself coming to
in an environment that looked like Upstate New York.
Given that we lived in just outside of San Francisco,
that didn't track. That was weird.
In that moment, I was fully awake.
This was not dreaming.
I could see what looked like
an old, abandoned amusement park.
And specifically, a wooden roller-coaster.
The moon was out, so all of this was very well-lit.
There could have been anywhere from 20 to 50
other human beings there.
I could see these other smaller figures in the woods.
I really couldn't figure out what the hell was going on.
I felt terrified and I felt confused.
I noticed these two beings walking directly towards me.
And it wasn't until they got close
that I could see that, oh, [bleep].
This isn't normal.
They weren't human. Their faces were pointy.
Not very noticeable nose and mouth.
Ears tucked tight.
And eyes about three times the size of ours.
The taller one, she had a feminine energy about her.
And she had this being,
this little boy,
who it looked like it was a combination,
a hybrid of one of these gray beings and a human being.
She got into my consciousness. She got right in there.
But it was like trying to understand somebody
talking through water.
And then I heard this, "Yours."
Yours.
And it just washed through my body.
Like, I can feel it in my gut right now.
And I knew at that point, like, this child was mine.
Then I heard this, "Yours."
This child was mine.
And then I blacked out.
And I came to in bed at home.
Almost immediately, like that splice cut,
I felt like I had been gone for a very long time.
Karin did tell me about the hybrid child that she met.
I didn't know how to interpret it.
Watching Karin experience these episodes
was extremely disconcerting.
My mind kept returning to thoughts of that little boy,
wondering where he was.
I was upset at the time.
It's very-- it's very hard to describe.
I think it's really interesting
to think that Karin may have a child somewhere else in space,
somewhere else in time.
But also, it raises another important question.
If this child is in fact hers,
then we must consider that her and whatever was used
to reproduce this child are in fact the same species.
So we have many cases that center around reproduction.
In 1961, Betty Hill was taken aboard a craft
and had a long needle inserted into her abdomen.
Four years earlier,
Brazilian farmer Antonio Villas-Boas
was taken aboard a ship
and made to reproduce with an alien being.
Different people from different countries,
but reports of the same interest
in human reproduction.
In a moment of frustration, I just sent this thought out.
Like, if this is real, show me something.
Within a day or two afterwards,
I felt like I wasn't alone in my body.
It got stronger until my jaw actually just clenched.
And I couldn't say anything.
I needed to talk. I needed to communicate.
I felt compelled to write things.
She motioned to me to get her pen and paper.
She just started writing.
Writing and writing and writing pages and pages and pages.
She was rigid and locked,
and that definitely had an impact on me.
I was very disturbed.
Very frightened.
It came out automatically.
Then this code writing would come out.
It has this very specific kind of rhythm to it
and kind of alphabet-like lines and dots.
I can't draw it or create it
in a normal state of consciousness.
When I read it, it was like all of these warnings
about the planet and about what human beings
were doing to the planet.
And that if we didn't course-correct,
that we were headed towards disaster.
There's a really interesting case
that occurred in 1980 in the Rendlesham Forest in the UK
where Sergeant Jim Penniston was witnessing a craft.
He walked up, he touches this craft,
and a flash of white light envelops him.
When he gets home, he starts writing out
this series of ones and zeros, binary code.
Eventually, that binary code was deciphered.
And what it said is that
eyes of our eyes, we are you from the future.
8,000 years in the future, specifically.
And we're coming back through time
to take your chromosomes in order to help
alleviate difficulties that we're having reproducing.
I realized I needed to go find
somebody to help me with this.
My therapist was at a conference.
She happened to sit down
next to this clinician named John Mack.
John Mack was a Harvard professor and psychiatrist.
He had a very highly esteemed career.
The abduction phenomenon was brought to his attention
in the late '80s.
And he started seeing abductees.
John's assumption was that he was going to identify
some kind of so far unknown mental disorder.
And instead, it became very obvious to him that
what we were describing was actual traumatic experience.
John Mack commissioned a documentary filmmaker
to follow him around and make a story about the abductees.
And I was filmed as part of it.
Hiya. - Hey.
What's it like out there? - What?
- What's it like out there? - Oh. Cold and wet.
As John and I started working together,
one of the first sessions that I wanted to work on
was this time that I had lost my bubble gum machine.
It just felt like it was connected to all of this.
I mostly just remember coming into his office
and him doing a couple of deep breathing exercises.
All I had to do was just take a few of these deep breaths,
and then suddenly, click, click, click.
I could see everything from when I was a kid in the woods.
But this time, I saw this egg-shaped small craft.
And that this being had stepped out of it
and took me with him.
So I got on this little craft.
And then the next thing I remember was standing inside.
I had a being on either side of me
where I was in front of a little boy
who was maybe a little bit older than me,
and he had a being on either side of him as well.
And I was asked if I would be
willing to give my bubble gum machine to this kid.
And I was a nice kid, and so I did.
He had this Scottish accent.
So I went to Scotland, you know,
for this documentary film to try to find this person.
Of course, I didn't end up finding him.
But he found me.
After the documentary was released,
I received an email from a man
who claimed to be the boy I met during the encounter.
I spoke with him on the phone.
And he described exactly the same thing that I experienced.
He described the room, he described the lighting,
he described the misty kind of vibe of it,
and he described exactly how we were positioned.
It was extraordinary for me to hear him describe
the specifics of the same environment
that I remembered when I hadn't said that out loud to anyone.
There's no way that he could have known
what he knew if he wasn't in the room there with me.
And he said,
"I came out of the woods with a bubble gum machine."
And that bubble gum machine sat on his mantle.
It's a little bit of a holy [bleep] moment.
I saw this egg-shaped small craft
and that this being had stepped out of it
and took me with him.
Very rarely is there a witness.
Most abductees get very little confirmation.
One of the other corroborative moments
actually occurred while I was seeing John
as one of his research subjects.
One day, I noticed a manuscript on the table.
And the pages were open to some illustrations
by another experiencer who had been abducted by aliens.
My jaw dropped.
Much to my surprise, was a rendering
of the exact place that I had been with the hybrid kids
and that wooden roller-coaster in the back.
You can see the moon in the picture,
and then you can see the curved forest line
that I had been standing just inside.
Holy crap.
Because it's such a weird thing to describe
this bizarre environment.
Like, what would we be doing there, you know?
I went online and I did a search
for old wooden roller-coasters in the United States
particularly around Upstate New York,
and actually found a park
that had an old wooden roller-coaster in it.
And the map of the campgrounds maps out exactly
to what's shown in this illustration.
So everything's positioned exactly where it was
where I saw it and where this guy saw it as well.
I went to visit this place.
It felt exactly like when I had been there.
It was named Lake Compounce.
So at the time, we were living in California
thousands of miles away.
So how the hell did I get there?
You know, it takes an intensely confident
or self-assured person to stay grounded in
no, I know this happened
when the whole world is saying you're full of [bleep].
I'm not convinced that these beings
are actually extraterrestrial.
I think that they may well be our future descendants.
Why would an advanced non-human intelligence
care about human beings?
Why would they care about our planet?
There's a number of different theories about
who these visitors could be.
They're ubiquitously described in such human terms
with eyes, nose, mouth in the same place,
arms and legs.
As an anthropologist, I study past humans.
It's the main thing that characterizes
our human evolution-- bigger brains, smaller faces.
We can see how in the future,
we may come to look very much like these gray aliens
described in so many cases of close encounters
with their even larger, rounder heads
or even smaller faces.
These beings seemingly are us,
just at a more evolved state in our evolutionary future
coming back through time to visit
and study their own evolutionary past
similar to how I would as an anthropologist
if I had access to time travel technology.
I want to know all of the answers
to the questions that we all have about it.
I really want to know.
I don't have answers, but we know that we're not alone.
Karin's story doesn't exist in isolation.
Across the archives,
completely unrelated experiencers describe
the same extraordinary details:
missing time, medical procedures,
reproductive encounters, and remarkably similar beings.
This was something John Mack could not ignore.
He was a kind of a global authority in this area.
Here in the archives,
we have 150 boxes of John Mack's tapes
and letters and documents.
These experiences are so similar, so consistent,
so congruent among thousands now, if not millions of people.
They have complex narratives of being taken by alien beings
with big black eyes, subjected to examinations,
taking of sperm from men, eggs from women,
seeing small hybrid beings.
And all these people, they're not crazy
although people sometimes would prefer to be crazy
than to have this be real.
Harvard University responded
to John's interest by trying to fire him.
They tried to take away his tenure
and his right to research this phenomena.
But they couldn't stop John's important work.
People ask, well, why do these aliens look so humanoid?
Why do they look so much like us?
Well, one of the answers where I have a fair amount of data is
that we both began separated from a common source.
John believed that the modern abduction phenomena
had similarities with much older stories.
He was fascinated by the star people,
who were beings described
in many Native American traditions
as visitors who have interacted with humanity
for thousands of years.
I've invited Young Brinson to the archives
because she believes her encounters
are part of that same great, ancient tradition.
I do think I have some type of familial connection
with the star people.
They always seem to turn up
when I'm going through something very difficult
and very hard.
I don't know what the shift was,
but after a while, there was something that scared me.
I grew up as a kid in Pamlico, North Carolina.
It's very rural.
I'm very involved in the Native community.
My stepmom is Navajo and a descendant of the Hopi people.
On my dad's side, he's a descendant of multiple tribes.
I love my culture. I'm proud to be Native.
I felt safe when I was with my family,
but I was often bullied by other people and other kids.
They said I was different.
I knew I was a girl, like I was--
I'm a girl trapped in a boy's body.
But I didn't know that other people didn't know that.
They would constantly say, that's wrong, you're a problem.
Or, they're like, you're gay,
you're this, you're that, right? And harm me.
I always felt different.
Like I really wasn't from here.
My dad told me a story about my conception
which is definitely interesting.
He was going to a skating rink with my mom.
And they were going to hook up in the car.
Like people did back then.
And they went to a cornfield.
They were all getting, you know, down in there.
The music was on.
But then all of a sudden,
my father said something didn't feel right.
And then he said there was a light above the car.
Suddenly, everything switched off.
What is that?
I think it was a ship. It was bright.
It was the brightest light
I've ever seen in my whole entire life.
As soon as the light hit me, I had a message.
He told my mom, you're going to get pregnant
and you're not going to have any more kids.
And she thought that was crazy.
Suddenly, everything turned back on again.
You could hear the bugs again.
And they were like, OK, we got to get out of here.
Let's go back to the skating rink.
When they got there, everyone was gone.
It seemed like minutes have passed,
but it was hours.
You hear that time and time again.
It's almost like they're able to control the environment
where they're doing these things.
Like, I've heard of cases where they've specifically
told these contactees that they've frozen time
within a radius around that ship.
Nothing can come or go because--
- Hence the no sound. - Hence no sound, yeah.
The next day, he noticed that
there was a circle burned into the cornfield.
It was a round, big circle
with some kind of lines all in it.
I don't know, but to this day,
don't nothing grow there no more.
Nothing. But the circle's still there.
I'm still confused about the whole thing.
Nine months later, I arrived.
But just like the message said,
my mom couldn't have any more children.
As she tried to get in vitro fertilization later in life
to try to have a second child, she couldn't,
so they were like, oh, it's actually crazy
that you even had a kid in the first place.
I just knew.
Everybody knew it. You were special.
Unfortunately, the UFO question,
abductees, experiencers,
all of these things have been dismissed by many scientists.
However, the Pentagon actually acknowledged
that unexplained pregnancies are a very common aspect
of these UFO encounters.
They've been studying this for years, just not publicly.
Karin believes genetic material
was taken from her to create a hybrid child
while Young believes her own conception
may have involved these mysterious beings.
These remarkable similarities
between completely unrelated experiencers
are exactly the kinds of things
that John Mack found impossible to ignore.
Growing up, I don't think I was ever really alone.
I felt like I was being watched.
And it scared me.
When I was like 13-ish,
that's when--
Things get weird.
I was going home one day from my grandma's house
with my mom in her car.
We're at the stop sign.
And I'm sitting in the passenger seat
looking at my mom.
And she's about to turn right towards our house.
And I get this weird,
tingly feeling like I always get internally.
And then I know to look up.
Suddenly, there is a black metallic disk...
Hovering above our entire car.
And I was like, this is crazy.
I'm like, what is going on here?
Underneath, there are these orbital-looking lights
that are alternating colors.
And in the very middle of the disk
is a bright light that is overwhelmingly bright.
There are no, like, electronic parts to it
or things that look mechanical.
There is nothing that would indicate
that a human made this because it was too seamless.
If we look at the form of these saucer-shaped craft
and the way they rotate and spin just like a disk,
they may be exhibiting
characteristics of a time machine.
And it's interesting to look at this in the context
of Einstein's paper on general relativity
that indicates that it is possible
to create closed time-like curves,
to be able to visit your own past.
The common thread through each of these
is the rotation of a highly energetic ring,
sphere, or disk.
It has all of the same characteristics
of something that could travel backward through time.
These UFOs, these flying saucers,
may be the time machine themselves.
This is possibly how the beings themselves
are coming back and visiting Karin, Young,
and the other experiencers
whose stories are stored here in the archives.
What in the world is happening?
I screamed. I'm like, is this it?
It's like, mom, are they going to take us now?
There is a black metallic disk
hovering above our entire car.
And I'm like, Mom, Mom, do you see this right now?
And she's just stuck there.
I'm like, where are--
you know, like, why are you not responding?
Whoever was on the ship had definitely muted my mom,
because she just was frozen.
And then all of a sudden, says--
The quickest speed across the horizon I've ever seen.
It was just instantaneous.
And then I'm like, are we going to just go home?
Like, what do we do now, Mom?
And then she starts talking like normal again.
My mom says that she only recalls
seeing just the light itself,
but I could see all the detail, clearly.
Like, it'll never leave my mind.
You see that a lot in other cases
where you have two people on the same place
who see completely different things
and who have different experiences.
So whatever these objects or whatever these things are,
they're manipulating space and time
in a really dramatic way.
Whatever had been on the ship
or whoever was on the ship,
they were still trying to communicate with me.
It feels like-- like fuzzy--
like when you try to turn the dial on a radio
to find the right station,
I started feeling bubbles of information in my head
where they just burst at the right time.
They told me the planet must survive
and we're running out of time.
It opened something in me,
and I started looking even harder at my culture.
My stepmother, Cheryl, she came into my life
when I was around, like, 14 or 15 years old.
Cheryl was a great support for me in terms of like,
feeling safe to talk about this
because she's had her own experiences.
We just happened to be driving between
Moab, Utah, and Monticello, Utah.
And out of nowhere, this really bright light
that was like a neon green
lit up the whole sky and lit up the whole valley.
It just flew across the sky.
And it caused a really big explosion.
I noticed that when we were heading back through
a couple days later, there were a bunch of white tents
and you see that it's fenced off.
You can see all these government vehicles there.
It made me think about Area 51.
Really since "The New York Times"
frontpage article in 2017 about this phenomenon,
about black budget programs, investigating it,
we've had a number of intelligence agents,
a number of pilots, a number of whistleblowers
come forward testifying under oath
in front of Congress saying that this is real.
These things they've seen are real.
It was after that I started hearing more and more stories
from other people about beings that they've seen.
And it's like those drawings with the elongated eyes,
the elongated, odd-shaped head.
That's when I was like, oh.
For me, it clicked. That's who they are.
Like, I knew that they had been coming to me for a long time.
In a lot of Indigenous groups,
you have all of these depictions
depict very alien-looking creatures,
some with the classic big heads,
big eyes, small faces.
These cave paintings could very easily be
depictions of us from the future.
But because we would have evolved so much
past where we currently are, they're almost unrecognizable.
I was working as a teacher in Muskogee, Oklahoma.
I was 22. This was the first time I lived by myself.
I saw other trans people.
And I was like, oh, I can transition,
I can be me, 'cause I still felt trapped, right?
Oh, it was very difficult to be on my own
and be alone and transition at the same time.
But the star people,
they always seem to turn up when
you know, I'm going through
something very difficult and very hard.
It was like 5:00 p.m.,
so the sun was still up in the sky,
but it was starting to get dimmer.
And I get the tingly feeling that I've described before.
I get the compulsion to look up,
and I see this discoid--
but this is where it gets very fuzzy.
Fuzzy.
And I see a blue glint, like a blue flash.
And I'm now in this room.
And it's all white in here, like piercing bright white.
I see a figure in the back.
Their skin is blue and I see that their heads
are a little bit bigger than what ours are.
And a hand comes forward.
I start to touch their hand.
And they told me, "We're coming."
All of a sudden,
I'm coming to in my bed after seeing what I saw.
I was still in my clothes and there's leaves in my bed.
And I was like, where was I just now?
You know? What is happening?
Am I losing my mind?
Because I was literally just outside.
And I'm like, how is it now 2:00 a.m.?
And something felt wrong. Like my shoulder felt weird.
I happened to look,
and then there was this pattern of dots.
And I was like, well, that's weird.
Like, why is this there?
Incidents like this are very common in the archives.
People often describe waking with anomalous marks
or strange injuries they can't account for.
I don't know what they were referring to
when they said "we're coming."
So I started doing more research and reading
about these beings, like, the star people,
and why they came here.
And I remember reading something
about the Hopi prophecies.
The Hopi are a tribe from Arizona
who's in the middle of the Navajo reservation.
And for thousands of years,
they've prophesied the end of the world
and the beginning of a new one.
If you look at the Hopi prophecies,
there's nine signs of destruction
before we move into the next world.
And so many of them have already come true.
The first sign was like
that these white people would come here.
They would take our land
and strike their enemy with thunder.
The coming of spinning wheels filled with voices,
snakes of iron will crisscross the land.
The land will be covered up by giant spider webs.
Rivers of stone would cross the land.
The sea would turn black.
The eighth sign says
people will start to wear their hair long like ours.
And then when you get to the ninth sign,
it's when the blue star reveals itself
and we change from this world to the next world.
I think that this time is now.
And I think the star people are revealing themselves
to me and to others.
And that is the blue star.
That's why they said, "We're coming,"
because they literally are.
The new world is going to include the star people.
In Western society, we dismiss this as impossible.
But in a lot of Indigenous communities,
it's a part of their mythology, their origin stories,
their belief system.
We have to see that many societies
throughout the world and throughout time
may have been having these interactions
and have been more open to it.
And I feel like we could all learn something from that.
I believe the star people are us from the future
coming back to help ourselves.
There's something about the frequency that they come
and how safe the Native people feel with them
that makes me think they're our family,
'cause every single one of the stories,
they talk about how our worldviews align
and that they trust us.
These are the things that I will submit to the archives.
So my drawing of the blue people,
the star people that come to see me.
I did this not too long ago.
I just want to draw them
as close as I can get or what I feel.
And so I did because there's like a texture
to the blue people that I can't quite describe.
It's like--I don't know.
I always do little dots for them.
I don't know what it is.
There's something in their skin I can't quite tell.
When it comes to the stories of Karin and Young,
we can say for sure that there's more to the universe
than we've ever considered.
Are these entities from a distant planet,
or are they from the future?
I hope Mike is right.
I hope these beings are our descendants
because there's something strangely reassuring
in the idea that whatever happens, humanity survives.
The alternative is far more unsettling.
If these are extraterrestrial beings
crossing unimaginable distances to reach us,
their motives may be
completely beyond our comprehension.
We may not be alone, but that doesn't mean
whoever is out there is here to save us.
By preserving Karin and Young's stories
in the archives, we give future researchers
the chance to take us closer to understanding
what is really happening here.
